r/dysonWhich Dyson cordless vacuum is actually worth it?

Yeah this is sadly common. My v15 had the same issue and died just outside of warranty. A new cyclone unit was $150 which fixed the issue.

Is that possible? The v15 was released Mar 2021 and carried a two year warranty. The first out of warranty replacement would be in Mar onwards 2023. Each replacement carries its own one year warranty. So then the second replacement Mar 2024 and third replacement Mar 2025. That's assuming it dies 1 day after warranty. You must be the unluckiest person alive hah.

r/VacuumCleanersDO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this)

Yup v15 has been great for a couple years so far. I don’t care if it doesn’t last forever, I’ll buy another. Peoples opinion on Dyson is based on the old ass one with weak performance.

Miele for the house - I have it for more than 20 years. Nothing can beat it. Have a Dyson cordless for quick jobs - every year needs serious maintenance. Luckily I am an engineer and can take it apart and deep clean it. Frankly with all the PR around Dyson's engineering marvel - it is a piece of shit and it wasn't built to last. Henry for the garage and car cleaning. Good workhouse - it hurts my eyes to have it in the house. Too industrial looking.

I’ve had the V15 detect for 4 years now and it’s as strong now as it was when I first bought it. I do clean it regularly and change the filters every couple of weeks. I thought the battery was declining but turned out the charger was defective and a new charger brought my battery and my replacement battery up to 100%. Best vacuum I’ve ever owned.

I have the V15 and am very satisfied with it. I think the V8 will serve you well for small pickups around the house. It’s very convenient to just grab a small vacuum like this to clean up small bits here and there. I cut my hair at home and this thing is awesome for cleaning up afterwards, as well as cleaning the messes that my boxer creates throughout the day.

r/VacuumCleanersWhich is the best cordless vacuum that actually has good suction?

I agree. We just bought the V15. I can’t believe how much stuff it picks up. We have cats and the cat hair it picks up is insane. You’d think we never vacuumed before.

r/CleaningTipsAre Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted

I’ve had 2 Dyson stick vacs break and honestly the manufacturing seems to get cheaper not better. Just switched to shark and happy so far but when you’re in the $400 range you are buying a short term vacuum anyhow.

r/HomeShould you invest in a cordless vacuum if you have mostly hardwood floors? genuinely torn

We got a Dyson and it’s the single biggest regret I’ve had making a purchase. Thing can’t suck up a Cheerios, dust bunny or flour split on the floor.

I had the same vacuum (lasted for many years) and used to take it with me on road trips with my dog. They are worth the price!

Yes. I use my cordless Dyson daily for small messes and use it as my main vacuum. It’s so convenient. I love it. I also got it on sale at Costco.

Same - Though Reddit seems to hate them. We got a Shark as a gift, lasted 1 year. They replaced it for free. Lasted about 2 years. We’ve had the same Dyson stick over 10 years with no issues. A charge doesn’t last long as long as it used to, but suction is still excellent. I can save you the trouble, Reddit will recommend you buy a $1300 corded Miele/Sebu. If God forbid you must have a cordless, $1000 Miele or $200 shark. I just don’t think it’s worth it for something where the bar is “does it get my floors clean?”. It reminds of certain hobbies like Mountain Biking where anything other than enthusiast-level ($$$$) is ‘junk’. Okay but I had fun riding my ‘junk’ the last decade while saving 8K. PC gaming, too - nobody has enjoyed a game with 12GB of VRAM, apparently.
