I have both the Elgato Facecam Pro and the Insta360 Link 2. I just got the Insta360 as a potential upgrade. My experience is that the Facecam Pro may be capable of a technically sharper image, but I could never get it to look as good. The auto balancing for exposure and color correction was terrible in my experience. After spending hours with it, I was able to get it to look good in one lighting setting. If that lighting changed, it would get horribly washed out and I'd have to do new manual settings. It's reviewed as a great camera, I just had a poor experience with it in practice. The Insta360 is just very slightly not as sharp (and is not capable of 4k60fps if that's important to you). But it's been a much friendlier camera for me. I still played with some settings and have some stuff on manual, but it's a lot more plug and play. The tracking is cool for keeping me centered in frame, and the ability to easily tilt it down is awesome. For instance, if I wanted to have a view of me playing guitar or keyboard, it's really easy to adjust to capture that. Also, unexpected bonus, the Insta360 is smaller and lighter than the Facecam Pro. I am a TERRIBLE leg bouncer. The Facecam had so much mass that it would subtly bounce with my leg, and nobody said anything about it until I moved to the new camera and the bouncing stopped lol. Also worth noting the Insta360 is a good bit cheaper than the Facecam Pro. I personally got good value and quality out of both cameras. Happy to DM you a YouTube link to one of my VODs before and after I made the camera change if it helps

I use an instalink 360 and it works really great. I've tried a Logitech Brio and a Lumina 4k also, but I like the instalink the best. https://amzn.to/4fAm268

OBSbot Meet 2 or the Insta360 Link 2. Both are around the same price, something like $120-130, and both look especially good for webcams. I would probably stay away from getting a mirrorless or dslr unless you plan on using it as something other than a dedicated streaming camera as well. I have an old a5100 that I use, but I bought it for photography first and just happen to use it as a stream camera. Even used on MPB, just the body for an a5100 is still $300 or so. Then you tack on a lens, capture card, etc. it starts to get real pricey to justify buying one exclusively for streaming unless you’re someone that draws in a ton of viewers.

I just upgraded my Logitech Brio to the Insta360 Link 2. Wish I hadn’t TBH I don’t like the tracking features as much as I thought. Camera quality of both is pretty phenomenal though.

It was the Logitech Brio 4k. Want to say one of the earliest versions. The Link 2 has amazing image quality I just don’t need the AI and tracking like I thought I might.

I use the Link 2 for Zoom meetings and it is great - except I have to keep altering the default resolution back to 4k from 720p after joining a Zoom meeting. This is the only setting that I need to alter. Not a game changer for most. But the rest is kept - mine is set to 1.2x zoom for example. There are also presets in the link controlling software to alter the position if required. The controlling software will automatically open, as this controls the camera - but once set (apart from the resolution above) you can just ignore. If happy with 720p you never need to look at the link controlling software. Note that my comments are for the Link as opposed to the link 2 - but can't see how it differs too much. I strongly recommend it.

I have a MacBook and use the Insta360 link 2. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a remote control outside of the desktop or phone app, Link controller. Also, if you also have an iPhone...you can stream from your MacBook but use the camera on your iPhone. I don't know how it works if you don't have an iPhone. I prefer my webcam over my phone because I feel like I have more control over my webcam, but I do want to start using my phone at some point for different angles and requests I am getting where I might want a different angle without messing with my webcam. In SM connect, under camera, my iPhone camera is detected and listed as a choice for the camera, so I have just selected in to use as the camera while I am streaming from the MacBook. I didn't notice SM categorizing me as a mobil user when I was just using it as my camera but still streaming from my MacBook.

Also a Mac user. You could get blinds to block/filter the brightness from the window to reduce the harshness of light. In terms of camera, I recently got the Insta360 Link2 and have been pretty impressed with how it handles lighting. Also tracks you real well and has good depth of field for something so small.

I like the Logitech C920 when I was starting out. Currently have the 2017 version of the Logitech BRIO, would never recommend that due to it's image quality and settings that you can't adjust unless you want the camera to be lagging. Currently working on the Insta360 Link2C due to a recent RandomFrankP vid. Another option you can try is using a Canon camera, my buddy is using a Rebel T7 with canon's webcam software, best quality I've seen.

I recently got one for a really good deal on Amazon prime day, called Link 2C. It's a really good webcam for everything. As for the web cam tracking, I don't have an iPhone but I agree with the other redditors that the webcam can be a higher drain on your CPU, and it's dependent on your software. I use Linux and man is it difficult to find a good face tracking software. I use openseeface lol

My first webcam was a cheap ish one from Amazon that lasted me about a year. Then I upgraded to a simple Logitech c922 pro for 1-2 years. Now I use the Insta360 Link webcam & have a Sony a6400 on hand as well. I moved my Logitech c922 to be a secondary angle cam. For lighting, I bought a 60ish dollar ring light on Amazon and have my webcam attached to it. I attach them to my desk w/ an arm. My goal in the beginning of my streaming journey was to spend as little money on equipment as possible and see what could still produce an okay quality. Lighting is KEYYY.

I think the 4k insta360 web cams look better and don't have to deal with crappy Corsair/elgato software. But mirror less would be a good choice if money isn't an issue.

If you want top quality and easy setup, these are solid options: Insta360 Link — great quality, clips on easily, has auto-tracking. Elgato Facecam Pro — sharp image, big sensor, simple plug-and-play. iContact Camera — excellent image, built for natural eye contact, quick to set up and take down. Since you already have good lighting, any of these will look great. All can be set up in under a minute and don’t need to stay permanently mounted.

I would recommend the insta360 link. Even if it's the version one. Really great camera with really great quality easy to use and will outperform any of those for around the same price. But if you want a camera that will let you stream at 4K 60. Then the elgato FaceCam pro is only webcam that allows that. Otherwise you'll have to get like a Dlsr. Now with the other cameras they do 30 frames at 4K. But that's only for your webcam your stream itself will be able to be at 4K 60.
