Ngl I always thought Insta360 was mostly about action cams and 360 stuff, so I never really paid much attention to their webcams. Recently rebuilt my desk into a standing setup with a monitor arm and laptop stand, and now I realize how much I actually move during meetings. I’m constantly switching between sitting and standing, leaning over the desk to check notes, that kind of thing. Been running the link 2 pro on top of my monitor for a bit now and tbh the tracking is kinda clutch. I don’t really have to think about the camera anymore when I move around, it just keeps me in frame. Makes meetings feel way less awkward than constantly adjusting the cam. DeskView has been pretty handy too when I need to quickly show something on the desk like notes or sketches. It’s probably not the absolute top tier webcam out there (IDK anyway, but for this setup it’s been doing the job really well so far. Curious if anyone here has any “pro” settings they like using with it.
Yeah I’ve used it a bit. It actually works pretty well, but day to day I mostly just keep tracking on. Gesture control is nice when you want to quickly zoom or switch views without touching the keyboard though.
Seconded, I have the Link 2 Pro and it’s amazing
I’ve been using the Link 2 Pro with a standing desk setup too and the tracking is honestly the best part. Being able to move around without constantly adjusting the webcam makes meetings feel way more natural.
That's a solid review! The automatic tracking is a game-changer for standing desks, and the DeskView feature seems surprisingly useful. I think it's perfect for people who move a lot without being a distraction.
Once you get used to auto tracking it’s hard to go back to a normal webcam.
I recently got the Insta360 Link 2C 4K Webcam for $120 as an upgrade from the Logotech c920 1080p cam. I still mostly use 1080p on the 4K cam but the larger sensor makes a huge difference. If you want a follow you can, the $160 Insta360 Link 2C PTZ 4K Webcam is also excellent. Or sn even bigger sensor on the new $200 insta360 2C Pro.
Completely agree. And if my budget was higher I would have bought the Insta360 Link 2C Pro for the bigger sensor. But my budget was $100 and I pushed it to $120 when I saw the non-pro on sale. The software, reviews, and 4K are excellent on the Insta360. Also the built in mic array is quite good. Though a dedicated mic is better. The 4K image looks great even in poor lighting and the autofocus is the fastest that I have used and no bouncing around hunting for focus when putting object close to it for reviews, etc. The only thing I don't like about the non-PTZ version that I have is that it's ONLY magnetic there is no tripod thread directly on the cam. It is only on the aluminum base. While the magnet is strong, I would prefer the option to thread directly to the cam. It's easy to adjust left/right while on the monitor but if you need to adjust up and down often then it's annoying. If you don't need to adjust often then it doesn't matter. I will probably end up 3D printing some kind of threaded mount case for it.
If you want an awesome cam for a little more check out the insta360 link or the link 2 can be got for not much more and has full pan , tilt and zoom does 4k well too
I think the 4k insta360 web cams look better and don't have to deal with crappy Corsair/elgato software. But mirror less would be a good choice if money isn't an issue.
