Logitech - C270

Personally the c270 seems to track pretty well. The issue is whether your PC can handle doing the tracking along with recording, streaming, and gaming.

I had a hell of a time getting my brand-new C270 far enough away to show my face and both hands in side view, and it also made it difficult to focus on my ID. I'm going to see if I can set it to be not so zoomed in by default before I take my second OA.

I have used and tested GoPro, DSLR (60D, 5DMark III), Mirrorless (Sony ZV-E10, Canon M200), Logitech (C270, C920, StreamCam, Brio 4K), and I also have tested iPhone 13 Pro using "Continuity camera". The big question is: why aren't the camera companies putting really good sensors and lenses in standalone webcams? Why we still don't have webcams using sensors of rear smartphone cameras?

Yeah, what yetanothernerd said. For 1080p on linux the C920 is the way to go. If you can stand using 720p the C270 is like $20. The mic is actually good and 720p isn't *that* bad. Personally I use an old phone for the camera and a separate usb mic. But overheating (phone) and setting up the mic is a pain. Go with the C920 and be done with it.

The Logi C270 is a really solid bet if you don't need full 1080p. However, given that you said you needed to record for presentations, you may want to splurge for the C920 depending on how important they are. Since this is for business, can your company provide you one or can you expense it? I wouldn't bother with the Ugreen as Fakespot claims a lot of fake reviews. The Yimona I'm entirely unfamiliar with, but Fakespot gave it an A rating for deception at least. I can personally say that Logitech products have always been a great value in my experience. My Logitech MMO mouse lasted me 12 years (I replaced it with the exact same), my keyboard 11 (still worked but I went to mechanical because it's easier to clean), and my webcam has been going at least 13 years now.

I'm looking for a webcam with the same kind of low camera quality that you'd get from a laptop, ideally very similar to the quality in this photo. budget ~25 but i don't mind going a little over that. if it helps i had a hp pavilion x360 with bad lighting and that was good for me. Logitech C270 is probably the best you're going to get at that price range. 720P, 30fps, no frills or features beyond "fine" or "acceptable." Right now on Amazon for about $24.

i use the **Logitech C270 3.0MP Webcam,** i got it for $30 bucks from target a few years ago and it's pretty decent. gets the job done.

I dealt with the same issue you had. I bought a cheap webcam and the image would get pixelated, it disconnect or I’d have lines running through my camera. I ended up buying this for about $25. I'll second this. I considered going with one of the really super basic ones (bare pcb) but the c270 has been done so many times that there are models available for mounting it to your carriage available. Seemed like the most painless option for me, gives a nice end-result, and wasn't at all expensive.

Do you want reliability or a good camera because this statement seems to indicate the latter: >I would go Logitech but they all seem dated and overpriced. Logitech is a reliable brand for webcams. Grab a C270 or Brio and call it a day. If you want something higher quality then grab a C920.

I thought the same about the Logitech options but went for the C270 anyway. If you just need the mic and reliable camera for video calls it’s perfect. Lot more to video quality than resolution and this thing proves it.

There are a lot of Logitech webcams to choose from. Before I just buy the most economical 1080p camera, does anyone have a recommendation for a **good** camera that's compatible with FTC tech? Currently we have the Logitech C270, but it's only 720p and can't recognize April Tags beyond about 5ft. One of our teammates was looking at the [Logitech Brio 101](https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Desktop-Widescreen-Calling-Recording/dp/B0BXGFFSL1/) but I don't know if it's better than what we have.

I've used this one without any problem https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071KT6W9P. If you pop the front off you can adjust the focus. There are even new cases with focal adjustment rings that you can print if you really want to customize it. I also have this one (https://www.amazon.com/Creality-Official-Real-Time-Monitoring-Time-Lapse/dp/B0CQT7SV8T) which costs about twice as much, but I like the mount for it better.
