I was a Senior Enterprise AE SasS and always used a pro camera. I had a Logitech Brio 4k, and now have a Logitech MX Brio Ultra HD 4K , and OBSBOT Tiny 2 Webcam 4K. Laptop cameras are generally poor quality. I also use an external microphone HyperX Quarcast 2.

Post was too long, had to split it. **Best Cameras** Pretty sure the best camera you can get would be some sort of high end DSLR Camera that supports a high frame-rate and can be used as a webcam. I don't have any suggestions there, but if you're looking for the best, start looking in that direction. Another really solid option is using an old cell-phone and hooking it up to your computer. The cameras on those are great, and tend to be way better than needed for a good foip experience. As for my pick... The c922 is just fine, but I'm personally planning on trying the Brio 4k, since it supports 90 fps at 720p with the fov adjustments. It can be picked up for like $60-70 on ebay used. The MX Brio or the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra is what I would go with if I intended to play in a low light setting due to supporting 60 fps and having very large sensors. (They're a lot more expensive though.)

I’ve been using the [Logitech MX Brio](https://amzn.to/422bRDv) for months now, and it’s been awesome for my dual-monitor setup—no more moving my laptop around just for calls. The picture is super clear, even in 1080p, and the colors look natural without any weird tint. It clips right onto my monitor, so it’s easy to position and stays put. I still use my laptop mic, which works fine, but the Brio’s mics are decent if you ever need them. It doesn’t have fancy features like auto-tracking, but the autofocus and low-light adjustment make me look sharp without any extra effort. If you want a no-fuss, high-quality webcam that just works, this one’s worth the price.

Just got the 'master mx brio' by Logitech. Haven't used it much but video looks good and install was extremely easy Are you using a tripod or some other mounting system? I'm getting one of those flex-rigid things (2ft) with a magnetic mount seems ok if top of the monitor doesn't work well (mine doesnt) and that stupid sticky pad idea they have is just terrible

Thanks. I do get that, but again, I would rather get a camera. Like, idk how much I'll go into it, so I don't wanna drop a bomb on an iPhone to not just not use it much. Was wondering what an ideal webcam is that works well, too. Apparently the Brio 4K is good? I was aware more than IR made iPhones good for tracking, but also aware IR is a big factor, so wondered about IR webcams.

Thanks man and tbf, I've seen the Brio 4K for good prices on eBay. I could grab one for £50-£60. Not too bothered if it's second hand because a camera either works or doesn't lol....I don't need it new. Hmm, okay, fair enough for the light, I may have to do the same. I do have a lamp, but it's way too bright. Need something else. Also, didn't know it had IR, thanks.

WYRESTORM Focus 210 This is compatible, but I returned it. My use case is a TV (and camera) 6 feet away from a 10 foot wide couch. I am capturing four faces of two adults and two children. The Focus 210 has a 120 degree field of view which easily captures the entire couch. It was actually a bit too wide. After zooming in and selecting faces, the image quality of individual faces was less grainy than the official Nintendo camera, but a lot softer. Too much detail was lost to keep the camera.

Logitech MX Brio Ultra 4K This is compatible and is the camera I kept. My use case is a TV (and camera) 6 feet away from a 10 foot wide couch. I am capturing four faces of two adults and two children. The 90 degree field of view is wide enough to capture the entire family on the couch. Each face is more detailed than what the official Nintendo camera provides. I connected to the dock via a USB-A (male) to USB-C (female) adapter. I did upgrade to the latest firmware before connecting to the Switch.

I use an Anker Powerconf C200, it works great in low light and does 1080p/60. I only use some LED lights at around 40% brightness with mood lighting and my monitor brightness is set pretty low and my camera quality is great. I have a Logitech Litra Glow key light as well, but I rarely ever use it unless I'm really trying to light something up. Some of the Logitech cameras work fairly well in lower light too, like the C920, C720, and anything in the Brio line.

A few months back I upgraded from my Logitech BRIO to a Sony ZV-E10 and the difference in quality is HUGE. I am very pleased with my experience. I use this camera for streaming only, not YouTube, so I can't comment on that. But my stream looks so crisp now as the camera does a great job handling low lit backgrounds with minimal grain. I believe the ZV-E10 was around $800? And included the cam itself and also an adjustable lense.

I have several on primary, secondary and office workstations. The two cameras I really enjoy are the Logitech Brio and the Elgato FaceCam Pro. The Brio has served me well since the pandemic lockdown, every day for at least two hours a day in Teams meetings. The FaceCam Pro is a quit recent purchase, I replaced a clunky setup with a Sony mirrorless with it. It has great quality and a nice bokeh for a webcam, and together with a key- or ring-light it makes for good recordings, not just meetings. I find this is a tremendous upgrade from just joining from my mac or surface laptop. I pair with a good microphone, and I almost have a studio with just three usb-c connections (mic, cam, neo keylight). Just haven't figured out how to handle my clicky-click mechanic keyboards when I do demo video recordings...

I got the Logitech Brio and maybe there's some settings I don't know how to adjust, but I can't stand the way the colors show up. When I open up the camera settings for adjustment, there's nothing really to do for the coloration.. Just to turn HD on/off, adjust brightness. When I looked it up, people were recommending a streaming service OBS to get the most out of it, and that's just not a path I'm willing to go down. Does anyone have a recommendation for a webcam that is more straightforward, and still brings a great visual? I'm doing meetings all day, so it's just to capture that.

The c920 is just a classic standard all around fine webcam. But it is getting a bit old now and was release date back in 2012... Logitech have the c922 that can do 60fps in 1080p tho. Do NOT get the Brio. It's laggy as soon as you take off auto exposure. Multiple people in my group of friend streamers have said this and I have too. > will be streaming in 4K What, like to YouTube? Because you *absolutely* aren't going to be doing that on Twitch any time soon. They don't even allow enough bitrate for a proper 1080p60 stream, much less one with four times as many pixels per second. Yeah, not going to get even 4K30 for under $150 or so. Heck, you aren't even really going to get 1080p60 for that. There's the Logitech BRIO, but they're horrible basket-case shitgoblins; I have two on the shelf that I'll occasionally grab one and update its firmware and software just to see if they managed to fix it yet. So far no dice. $70 range you're looking at the gold-standard starter webcam, the Logitech c920/c922, if you can find one on sale. 1080p30 with decent image quality if your lighting setup is at least OK. *Do not* skimp on the lighting.

Elgato c920 is the gold-standard starter cam. You can find them on-sale for around $50 usually. Of those three, I'd go with the Elgato. Avoid the BRIO like the basket-case shitgoblin it is (I have two sitting on the shelf, they're worthless little turdbuckets that constantly error and look like absolute crap, even compared to a c920; I bought them when they first came out as their whitesheet makes them look like the perfect cam, but THEY ARE NOT). > Btw, I do stream at 4k60 You must be streaming to YouTube, then? Because Twitch's max bitrate would make any 4K60 stream look like hot fried poop. Absolutely unwatchable. Doubling down on the Facecam Mk2 (or bump up to the Pro), it's going to give the best quality out of the three.

Brand names like the c920 are known performers. They have people who have actually used them, and deliver a known result point. The other three you have listed are no-names. The sensors may be crap; even if they technically output 1080p60, they may look like absolute hot garbage. The whitesheet spec is not the full story. What kind of optics do they use? What kind of dynamic range does the sensor provide? Is the gain amp clean, or cheap noisy trash? What kind of reliability and reproducibility do they bring to the table? Do they have a decent autofocus? How big is the actual sensor they use? --- I got fooled by the white-sheet on the Logitech Brio. Looks *amazing* on paper, the perfect camera that I'd always been hoping someone would make. I bought two, sight-unseen, when they first came out. They were (and still are) horrible basket-case shitgoblins. Sitting on my shelf, back in their boxes. Overheating, crashing, disconnecting, image corruption, and sometimes not even being recognized at all. And when they *did* work... the image quality was somehow *worse* that the c920 I'd bought them to replace. Looked like absolute fried ass. So yeah. Sometimes it's because something is known to work (reasonably well), and not just an optimized text string meant to lure people in.

Others are right you will struggle to get high fps or high resolution though ml pipelines. Typically things are downsampled before that step and then the keypoints re overlayed on top of the full res video. For your purposes you could pick up any cheap 720p webcam and it would probably work well. Or the logitech brio is probably the best consumer grade webcam out there still but the 4k mode is kind of a processing mode rather than true resolution. But it is a very good webcam. I have also tried this webcam which works well but is less user friendly. The main advantage here is swappable lenses so you can change the fov/ zoom so far away subjects can take up more of the frame. Webcams are usually pretty wide angle since people are close to them normally. Hey do you guys have any idea which cam is good for streaming? I brought a Elgato Facecam Pro beacause my old Logitech Brio getting crashes all the time. But in the elgato pro i look very very ill. My face is red like a tomate. The color fastness seems to be very bad, but i would like to have a 4k 60fps cam :(. I would also use the camera on different computers for meetings etc, So it would be nice, if i dont need to set everything up first, before i look normal :D. I also don't like moving cameras that follow me around like the obspot tiny 2, but I'd overlook that if I knew a camera like that was better. Are there any alternatives for the elgato pro? Should be cost about 200-max. 400 €. I Have a lot of Logitech and elgato in my Set-Up so im very sad, that the cam is so bad :(. The Elgato pro camera also looks good in my set up (from the aesthetic). Thanks for help! (And no i dont like to use my phonecamera as a facecam.)

So when I deactivate the white balance I find that the picture looks a bit more “real”. Nevertheless, I find my lips very reddish, for example, or my dark circles very strong. Is it not worth using a different camera? I didn't have to adjust anything on my previous Logitech Brio. Of course, the quality of the image is simply different and doesn't match the resolution and fluidity of the Elgato pro.

Get the BRIO. Had mine for 4 years, Still holding up. Nice crisp clear 4K especially if you keep your streams and upload them to YT later. Wouldnt use the built in mic though if you do a shitload of talk to the chat. A separate microphone is better, but you can turnoff the mic on the BRIO in the OBS settings or the Logi software.

I own the first two and honestly the Logitech BRIO is totally fine as a webcam. The ONE thing that pisses me off about the Facecam Pro is that every single time I boot my PC I have to unplug and plug it back in to work as it doesn’t receive enough power on boot. Every time without fail it displays a yellow light. Unplug, replug, magically it works. But it’s super annoying. Another thing that irks me is the advertising for these says 4K, 60 fps when they in fact only offer 4K *or* 60fps. Not both at the same time. Not that it matters much for streaming on Twitch, but it sure would be nice to not have to constantly compromise on framerate or resolution for recorded content. No amount of reinstalling drivers or using different ports has ever fixed these issues. I’m just tired of webcams not working properly man. Would be easier to just use your phone at this point.

Unless this is a hobby that you enjoy throwing money at, a better camera won’t make a huge difference. Focus on your content and lighting. Lighting helps ALMOST any shitty camera look amazing. Webcam quality in 2020 is way better than it was in 2008. Only If you’re making money from streaming, such that your profits can pay for a new camera, that’s the only time I’d recommend upgrading your camera beyond a Logitech Brio. But even this elgato face cam is good enough

We use logitech brios for my job. They are pretty crisp and offer good lighting/glare control.

Logitech Brio is a great option to start. If $199 is too steep you might try finding one used somewhere like Craigslist...

The brio is pretty good for its price. Make sure you get the one you have shown here if you choose brio. The newer one is honestly worse quality in terms of picture. I would not get the egato facecam unless you can get the pro, which is significantly more expensive but has insanely good picture quality for a webcam. Its almost indistinguishable from an actual DSLR. I'd say the obsbot is probably a little bit better than the brio in quality. The c922 that people are suggesting is markedly worse than any of these choices and despite what people tell you, lighting is not going to fix that. You're going to want good lighting for any camera you use.

I have a Logitech brio mounted on top of an oled TV that’s basically a thin pane of glass (<.4” thick). The c920 uses the same style monitor mount so I assume that will also work assuming your monitor isn’t some sort of flexible display that couldn’t hold the weight.

Brio is great, I like the Icontact as I do a lot of presentations and eye contact with the camera helps come across as engaged. I think Sony just bought them so a new versions coming out. Mic is great. I dont think video quality is any better than the brio though.

I use both the Brio and c920 I have to use a separate software for the brio to make the picture look more clear. So it's just not plug and play. Same for the c920. Before streaming I set the camera settings first to 30fps Go to advance setting, I uncheck white balance. Go to the next tab and uncheck the two. Then one of em I unchecked I set it from 4 to a 5. Click apply, okay. Then go to settings again but change it to Highest Fps. The screen may go dark after this option. But it's okay because you go to advance settings and set the Gain to the highest level. Now it looks much better. You just need some lighting and you're all set. I'm typing this from memory, not on my computer, so directions may seem confusing.

I got the OBSbot earlier this week. Can’t speak to the Elgato but it bodies the Brio in my opinion (even though I got the 1080p OBSbot) one of the best webcams I’ve seen

I use the Hollyland M2 mics, it's incredible for streaming. Logi Brio seems to be working well on the camera front as well, even that though you can use your smartphone if you want to save a few extra bucks.
