"I ran the kiyo for about two years. ... I actually still use the webcam almost daily as I mounted it on my wall and pointed it at my cat perch and it's lasted about 5 years"

"comes with a ring light and light matters so much with tracking"
"My first camera was a razer kiyo which had a ring light built in -was very useful."
"Has a built in ringlight too to assist in proper lighting to get the lighting youd need, frankly I would recommend good ambient lighting instead of the ringlight, but it's good in a pinch."

"It's great. ... I use it for meetings and streaming. ... I got made fun of during the panini for having a 4k camera when everyone else was in pixilated jail at work."
"I can stream up to 1080p 30-60fps"
"The quality can be really good if you use the settings correctly, if you turn off the auto brightness setting you can get a crisp 60FPS camera feed."

"Bought a Razer Kiyo after seeing it here and a few other places as working. It does not, I just get a white screen. ... Yes, it's the standard Razer Kiyo with the ring light. I updated the firmware to the latest version and still had the same problem. ... Possible it's defective--when I would press the B button to back out of the Test USB Camera screen, no inputs would work on the controller until I unplugged the camera from the USB port (tried both the dock's USB-A and the console's USB-C, same thing). ... System recognized a camera had been plugged in, and the microphone does work under the Audio menu. Camera works fine when I plug it in to my PC. ... I don't understand either. I returned it and got the Switch 2 official camera instead, which works just fine. Best guess is a compatibility issue with the Kiyo 2.3.x firmware (was out of the box with version 2.3.0 and I updated to v2.3.2_r2 when it didn't work) and the current Switch 2 system software (20.3.0)."
I have the Kiyo, an older model (idk if theyve updated since like 5 years ago when i bought it), but it sucks imo. Idk if I just havent set it up right or what but its super mid in terms of quality.

Best guess is a compatibility issue with the Kiyo 2.3.x firmware (was out of the box with version 2.3.0 and I updated to v2.3.2\_r2 when it didn't work) and the current Switch 2 system software (20.3.0). Would like to hear anyone who has a working Kiyo to chime in and verify. Would really like to use a better quality camera, but if system/firmware updates can break the compatibility, the official one seems the safest bet. Oh well.
Elgato Facecam Neo, Razer Kiyo, if you want a built-in light or Logitech c920 series. Take your pick, all for less $100 usd typically
Razer Kiyo is $60, it’s what I use
I started with Razer Kiyo and then got a C920 Pro HD.
I ran the kiyo for about two years. I think it's a fine camera. I'd take the savings and buy some cheap led light boxes and a desk mount for them because extra light will help with webcam clarity and despite the ring light being there it isn't really that powerful. I actually still use the webcam almost daily as I mounted it on my wall and pointed it at my cat perch and it's lasted about 5 years My upgrade as a relatively cheap/poor hobbist has been the a5000 but that was roughly 300$ before the capture card. Old Cellphones work great with a program like Irun Webcam. I use my current cellphone as an additional camera for things like showing people my cannabis garden.
Anyone else open this thread to figure out what the Misc Razor has to do with FOIP? 😂 Even though I OWN a Razer Kiyo (not pro), my brain short circuited seeing the title. Anyways... I almost never use FOIP features, so I don't know if I can speak to your question. It's a different camera version anyways. A short search tells me the pro version has significantly better low-light performance, so that bodes well. What I CAN say, is I've had my Kiyo for 5 years and haven't had any problems with it. Usually that cam ends up getting used pointed at a monitor screen for video feedback loops doing VJ visuals
I got the razor kiyo at Walmart for $50 clearance. Check there first if it’s available as I can stream up to 1080p 30-60fps
I recommend the Razer Kiyo, comes with a ring light and light matters so much with tracking. Also what program do you use? If it’s VNyan you really wanna mess with your tracking layers. Side note, if it’s in the budget, I suggest an iPhone for tracking unless you are sold on hand tracking in which case yeah webcam makes more sense
I recently got the Razer Kiyo for about $100 So far, very happy
