When I was a poor teen I used my PS2 'eyetoy'as a webcam

I used everything from my old ps2 eye toy to the newer ps4 VR camera to my Xbox 360 Kinect. All work well Will use the Kinect full time for the webcam because it compliments a tv very well (as it was obviously designed to) feels very sacrilegious but awesome at the same time, this is an opportunity for us to use whatever cool webcams we want for our docked switch setups! Makes your entertainment hub look better and nicer Forget the ones Nintendo are selling, those overpriced junk have worse quality than any modern webcam on the market lol just use whatever you have for a better value and better everything

What are you trying to do? Capture video of Bigfoot? You could buy a decent one and just ruin the quality with filters, low bitrate, low resolution, Vaseline, layers of packing tape etc. But if you really need something crap I can “recommend” the PS2 Eyetoy camera it’s like 240p and comes with the early 2000s driver struggles for the perfect nostalgic feeling. Realistically just search on your local used marketplaces for older used USB webcams for 0-5 bucks. Just make sure you can find a driver for it if it’s not a UVC camera.

Can confirm. I tried to use my eye toy back in the mid-2000’s as a webcam for my PC and it wouldn’t pick it up then either.

In the early-mid 2000s I was definitely using the EyeToy webcam and the SOCOM USB headseat (that only covered one ear, lol)
