Sony - PlayStation Eye

I got the same one, I use ArUco so no filter removal, but the thing works flawlessly every time, and a lot better than a not so old cellphone. I have very dim lighting and get 75hz

PS3 Eyecam. I spent like $8 on it and has lasted (knock on wood) years now. I did remove the IR filter and then put in a dimming film to block ambient light. It works fantastic. I am also not a technically gifted person so if I can do it, it has to be simple.

Anything that can manage 60fps should work fine, even if it's only 480 or 360p. I use a PS3 Eye cam and it works quite well. Definitely an upgrade from the 30fps webcam I used before.

I used Smoothtrack at first, an app on my Android phone streaming head position to Opentrack, and that could track my face with no lights in the room except for my monitor and a small light in the corner. Tired of having to prop up my phone and not being able to use it while playing, I started using a PS3 Eye camera with Opentrack and the neuralnet tracker it comes with, that requires more light and I have to use a desk lamp for it to work properly. Other camera's can be more light sensitive though and not require extra light.

I am more interested in the other way round. These game console cameras have a history of being good quality and well-priced for the specifications you get due to the economies of scale. My current webcam is a PS3 EyeCam
