OpenWrt king, great value, but no 6GHz Wi-Fi.

Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
I just got Cudy WR3000S, quite cheap around 40€/pcs, you can install OpenWRT into them easily. I use them in AP mode with VLAN tagging. With wire it seems to offer the full 1 Gbps, I don’t know if routing would slow it down? For Wi-Fi, I have set 20 MHz bandwidth to 2,4G and 40 MHz for 5G. So the wireless speed is capped around 400 Mbps but range seems to be decent on both.
That is not required. The only interaction is to apply the OpenWrt image provided by Cudy via GUI. Afterwards it is all CLI procedure if you want.
This looks good and great price point. Not sure I'll be able to fit what I need into RAM and flash but I've ordered one and will give it a go. I can probably drop nginx and just have the Go app handle http
If my maths is right, that's about 3x more power? Thanks, this will be my backup option if 5GHz coverage is poor or I cant fit everything I need into RAM
I can 2nd Cudy. They make it easy to go to OpenWRT but even their provided firmware is really solid and based on OpenWRT. They are very affordable with good performance.
I've been having good luck with Cudy devices. I've got a WR3000H and WR3000S The big downside is lack of USB (WR3000P had this) But for inexpensive WiFi 6 devices which are easy to get OpenWRT on I can't think of anything in their price range that comes close
You can buy the Cudy WR3000S which is really cheap (I bought mine for 40€) and good (I get 1Gbps over WiFi with it), configure it in AP-mode and plug your computer via Ethernet in there and then use WiFi for everything else. For the best performance, I would turn off 2.4Ghz, and put the 5Ghz band in 160Mhz mode.
The Cudy WR3000S is a great and cheap router, I get 1Gbps over WiFi.
