Google Fiber (Google) - GFiber Wi-Fi 6E Router

Have you considered asking to upgrade to the new Wifi 6E router provided by GFiber? All it takes is a phone call or chat. The range and throughput are pretty great, and it costs $0.

In KC.  Have 2gb plan and have the WiFi 6e router.  I have read if you upgrade to the 2gb plan they will also swap the router.  It would be cheaper to upgrade for a month or two, then buying a router.

How did this work out for you? I also have the 6E router from google and I have been having the same issue with it for over a year. I have the same store issues and half my streaming services wont work.

Have you found a fix for you customers on the issue? I have been battling the same issue for over a year and there is no change.

TLDR: I switched from the Google Fiber wifi 6 router to another router and life is so much better. For a long time (over a year), I had been having problems with my home network, particularly with Android performance. Microsoft Teams was hanging, restaurant apps (or any apps that use geolocation) were hanging upon start. I researched this for a while and finally decided to swap out the Google Fiber router for another manufacturer. All my previous problems are gone. To be clear, I still use the Google Fiber service, just not the free router that Google provides.

It's an issue with some PS5s and the WiFi 6E router. If you enable the guest WiFi and connect to that it'll probably work fine but it's just a weird workaround. Your best bet is to get a different router that isn't from GFiber, it'll save you a lot of headache. It's been a problem for a long time so don't expect the issue to be resolved in a timely manner if ever with those 6E routers.
