I might recommend the [https://store.ui.com/us/en/products/udr7](https://store.ui.com/us/en/products/udr7) it's wifi 7 and costs $280. It will work out of the box, but has a lot of ways to customize if you wish. I upgraded from a [https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rax54s/](https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rax54s/) because I wanted the features. I haven't tried to stream 4k video on either device, but I'm sure the UDR7 could do it.

r/ATTGetting ATT 1 Gbit fiber connection soon, need recommendations for a good budget router.

But...why? Do you have a massive home and don't think the ATT router will cover it? This is usually the only reason that actually makes sense to get your own these days. I would recommend getting the ATT hardware. These are usually very good hardware, and if anything goes wrong you call ATT to have them replace it or send a tech out. If you buy your own router you have to set it up yourself, figure out your own issues. From what I hear the hardware ATT uses is comparable to a lot of the $300+ Netgear Nighthawk routers. If you still want to buy your own, and know how to support wifi/set everything up/deal with issues (ATT probably will not help you if you have your own router), etc then get a good Netgear Nighthawk router. I personally wouldn't buy anything less than a AX5400 but that's going to be fairly identical to the BG320 that ATT is going to install and service for $10/mo. Not to mention that if ATT releases new hardware for their internet, you can usually upgrade it for free if you still have their service.

r/HomeNetworkingWhich router is the best value for a 2,000 sq ft house with 40 devices (mostly Google Home and Eufy cameras), one TV, and no gaming? Internet speed is 150Mpbs (cable).

I don't need the fastest or most advanced. Something that's reliable for the next few years would be great. I'm currently using a Netgear Nighthawk RAX45 that is having trouble with so many devices.

r/HomeNetworkingWifi 7 Routers - reviewed & compared

i've had nothing but problems with my net gear wi-fi 7, after few weeks stuff buffers for split second, social media doesn't load immediately, i also have the net gear wi-fi 6 AX5400 router and works fine. seems walmarts website also has allot of complaints about wi-fi 7, and seeing that you actually have to have devices that use wi-fi 7, which technically none do, im going back to wi-fi 6, ether a new net gear router from amazon or MSI gaming routers or something.

r/orbiMy experience with Orbi 870 has been a nightmare
3 months ago

Similar experience to mine with the 750P series. about 2 months after i bought it i noticed no internet, rebooted mutliple times nothing, couldnt access the unit on the app or the web management, full pin reset and it was back up, so i didnt think anything of it. 2 weeks later same issue. Called support they had me manually install the same firmware that was on the router and satillites, all good for about 6 weeks the it did it again. Previous tech said if it does it again they will RMA the router but dont hard reset as they wanted to see if they could get logs. So i call support again only to be told while my units are still under hardware warranty the included "tech support" is only 90 days and I'd have to buy a tech plan starting at $99. I'm like oh no thnkas you can just RMA, look at the history of the serial number. Tech tells me they cants RMA it unless they "troubleshoot" the issue and they cant do that unless i buy a plan.. I nearly lose it on the phone. guy puts me on hold for like 10 mins only to come back and tell methe RMA is approved. Replacement unit shows up 2 days later, all good right? wrong. I had the 750P model from best buy which is an AX5400, they replaced the router with the 750 model which is said to have a better cpu and mo0re antennas but is only an AX4200 unit. I do use the wireless backhaul to connect my audio system to my network and the things i have in the basement so I was a litter concerned. The first issue I had was getting the Satillies to connect correctly to the 750 as the sats are like the router the 750P model line, They would connect but never stay synced, googling the error pointed to bad signal even though they were in the smae spots. As luck would have it Support called me just to verify it showed up to which i told them they sent the wrong unit, they reopened the case and told me they would send a second replacemeent the 760 which is the new direct replacement of the 750p, i asked them to verify it works correctly with the satillies whcih they did. That showed up this morning, and the satillites just wouldnt connect, took about 2 hours to get them to connect and they still seem glitchy.. My patience with netgear had run out, I just picked up the TP Link Deco BE65 Pro BE11000 kit and will be setting that up in the morning then probably selling the netgear cheap or giving it to a friend or something.

r/homeownersNo Ethernet ports, what to do for wired internet?

With a descent router wireless is nearly as good as wired these days. I speak as someone who was once a 'wired network' purist for the same reasons as you, and also someone who works from home. A good router, set in a centralized place will probably be a cheaper and simpler solution than wiring everything together. I use one of those nighthawk routers with four antenna. Alternatively, doing data cabling runs throughout your house can be in DIY territory. It would be much cheaper than hiring a contractor and you could be done with it in about a day depending on how many rooms you want patched in and how much you care about wire enclosures being visible. Lots of people just put cable mounts in the corner near the ceiling and run them outside the wall.

r/HomeNetworkingAdvice on new router (WiFi 6/7)

Considering that you’re using a very old 802.11n-only device, an upgrade to a decent WiFi6 device will modernize you greatly. These can be very inexpensive. I picked up a used Netgear Nighthawk WiFi6 router for $30 and it covers my apartment perfectly, despite the 200 neighbors. Then, when the future arrives and it’s time to expand, I’d buy something new. WiFi7 prices are only going to fall faster and WiFi7 clients will become all that more common, so it will pay to wait. Network gear is one of those things that you can’t future-proof. The tech changes fast enough, and the prices change fast enough, and the client support lags enough to the point where it’s is more efficient to buy for today, and not for 24 months from now.

I dont know about this model but fuck Netgeat Nighthawk. I owned a different one few years ago that was supposed to be a a high spec version, and it caused me infinite problems, which all disappeared when I bought a different one.
