"with a big house we always had issues with coverage before that's non-existent now"

"Actually better than a range extender, as Mesh systems are designed from the ground up to work with each other in the system. ... But it's half ass "patched up" jerky jerky mesh was no match to a Deco. Deco was snappier, more reliable, and longer range."

"The coverage is excellent. I have a 2 storey 175sqm house and it covers almost everything."

"Returned and exchanged for a Netgear Nighthawk RS700 and has been working perfectly. ... once it’s all setup it’s the first time I’ve ever experienced as ‘set and forget’ type network. ... I have never experienced an issue with losing connection or adding devices."

"run 3 tbs, 3 phones, ps5, laptop, xbox all from it, with 2 tvs, 2 phones, laptop, and ps5 on pretty much at all times, and experience 0 issues. ... ibe had my current router about 3 years now, not a single issue, i run my entire house daily on it, minus 1 tv, everything else is on, and runs with 0 issue, 0 lag, standard load times for my laptop, and thats even with watching youtube on my phone, disney or netfilx on one tv, streaming and gaming from 1 laptop, hbo on the other tv, 3-4 phones going at all times (medical devices) so, why do i need to switch to wifi7?"

"Remote play to xbox sx (xbox wired) with 5 ping on iphone, very playable, all while wife and son are streaming something on tv/phones/tablets all on wifi."

"It's about how much more it does. ... It's not only about the wifi-7. It's about how it manages and directs traffic on the other wifi frequencies as well ... It isn't about the wifi-7 aka 6.8Ghz frequency, its about how it manages and directs traffic within the other frequencies that sets it apart from your basic market nighthawk router and from the faulty and trash equipment that were its predecessors"

"Configured the AP to Smart Connect with all 3 frequencies in one SSID and set the 2.4G to a Channel 6 instead of Auto and I have never experienced an issue with losing connection or adding devices."

"It also doubles the available bandwidth of the standard 6.0GHz frequency."

"It's still not providing 4-5 air changes an hour to 3,000 square feet ... It's common for air purifier manufacturers to mislead on square footage coverage. The 3,000 square foot is likely based on one air change an hour. That won't be enough for someone wanting a purifier to help with allergies, viral load reduction, dust reduction, etc. ... The Blue Air website recommends 635 square feet for 4 air changes in an hour. ... The 635 square feet assumes the device will be ran on the highest fan speed to achieve the 4 air changes an hour. ... After doing some deeper digging I learned not to trust the advertised square footage. Even some big name publications are just trusting manufacturer claims and are not doing their own testing to verify. Members of this forum like myself try to educate people that we can't always trust the advertised square footage. ... It's unfortunate we can't always trust the advertising. I wish manufacturers would give a straightforward number on air changes you can expect in an hour within a certain square footage and ceiling height. For ex: 4 air changes an hour in 500 square feet 1 air change an hour in 2,000 square feet"

"However, it claims to have 3500 sq foot of range but it doesn’t have the best range as I disconnect once I get to my front door. The router is upstairs with nothing directly blocking it."

"Energy Star rates the Coway Airmega 100 for 169 square feet. ... Sadly it's very common for air purifier companies to overinflate their room size coverage. ... Energy Star and the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers are great sources for seeing the recommended room size. Even then, the room size is based on the highest fan speed. Sometimes there can be big differences among the different fan speeds."

"replacing my shitty Nighthawk router. ... craving a solid stable experience as opposed to the weekly-to-daily wifi drops and router dementia every 6 or so months. ... same dementia and wifi dropping issues for all the nighthawk products. ... the wifi radios just turning off for 5 minutes at least once a day, if not more, or dropping until the router is rebooted at least twice (Ethernet is fine at this time); ... Mainly it's the first two issues: random factory resets and radio dropouts. ... I would have figured maybe I had a bad router, but it's happened across 3 different models, one model I have two of that did the same thing."

"it drops calls like crazy when I hit the end of its range. ... calls go dead."

"none of them even came close to the signal penetration I got from the GLinet flint 2."

"It started randomly disconnecting around April(bought in dec 24) ... the amount of times I want to hurl this thing at the wall is ridiculous."

"it’s a b***h and a half to get this thing to connect to my spectrum modem. ... I will spend hours resetting both the router and my modem in the hope that there will be a connection at some point. ... I’ve spent hours and I can’t tell what is the issue that prevents this thing from picking up a connection from my modem."

"it constantly drops my internet"

"I had a Netgear Nighthawk router that ended up getting a bug in it after a firmware upgrade. ... The bug didn't allow me to filter by MAC address. ... I had to end up actually editing the HTML of the router page to get it to work. ... It was a known issue on Netgear's website for years, but they never fixed it."

"only way to fix it is buy reverting to an older update making you vulnerable to getting hacked."

Has nothing but problems when I upgraded to a TP Link WiFi 7 AP, devices would go offline randomly in the middle of the night and never reconnect unless I manually deleted them and re-added them. Returned for another model, same issues. Returned and exchanged for a Netgear Nighthawk RS700 and has been working perfectly. The interface for configuring the AP is dog slow and borderline useless half the time because changes take minutes to apply sometimes but once it’s all setup it’s the first time I’ve ever experienced as ‘set and forget’ type network. Edit/ Configured the AP to Smart Connect with all 3 frequencies in one SSID and set the 2.4G to a Channel 6 instead of Auto and I have never experienced an issue with losing connection or adding devices.

r/wifiWhat is the best Wi-Fi Mesh Router to buy, that has 5G SIM card slot?

As far as I know there is no mesh router with 5G. That being said I’d recommend you get a good 5G router like the netgear m6 pro and a great wifi7 router like the netgear rs700. I used to have the orbi 960 and they suck. When the orbis are working they are super fast. But at times they are not working… that got on my nerves so much that I now have the rs700 for wifi and I don’t even need a mesh.

r/amazoneeroI'm considering leave eero and switching to another mesh Wi-Fi brand. Does anyone have a better solution?

I would say instead of getting a mesh system, get Neatgear Nighthawk rs700s , the range on this router is insane , try it

r/wifiBest WiFi 7 Router for 2500 sq home?

I currently have the Netgear Nighthawk RS700 and the speeds are great. However, it claims to have 3500 sq foot of range but it doesn’t have the best range as I disconnect once I get to my front door. The router is upstairs with nothing directly blocking it. Would anybody recommend a better WIFI 7 router that has great range for them?

Thanks for the response. Did the factory reset. Relocating the router will be challenging based on where the service comes in the house. Far corner.

Netgear nighthawk rs700. It's very capable. replaced my old mesh system and am getting gig wireless on the 6ghz band throughout my house. You may need to upgrade your network cards in things like PC's with a new tri band card.

Stay far away from routers with fans, I returned a tp-link wifi 7 router over this exact issue. Sfp port was so hot it was unreal. Try to cool your place in summer with air conditioning, you don't want some fan blowing heat. Also moving parts is a bad idea for longevity. Also when I ran latency tests I was loosing O.4 to 0.8ms over fiber with the tp-link, my old router from 10 years ago never added that much latency, just to give you an idea of how bad fans are. This is not enterprise, cisco is enterprise and they use heatsinks not fans. If you want a decent router for home, Netgear rs700 uses heatsinks and has 1500 more sq ft of range than this thing, yep not 2000sq feet, but 3500sq feet, should get good reception in your backyard this summer. If you want enterprise you'll have to go cisco.

Almost went with this but the WIFI 7 Netgear Nighthawk was less than half the price so I went with that. 1 2.5gig port for desktop, one for laptop. It's awesome
