"mesh, no cables and it works great on a pretty big house with another router 100m away. ... I have the main router, one repeater on flat 1, another on flat 2, one in the garage, and another in the shed"

r/HomeNetworkingWIFI router (mesh?) recommendations? Vital stats below. Please & Thank you!

This is my response from a different thread but this applies: A sample size of one but I wanted to give you my perspective. I used to have RBR50 with 1 satellite with wireless back haul. I get 1.2GBPS at from my ISP. I used to get really good speeds (5-600) everywhere, but about 2 months ago it started getting worse and eventually died. I’ve had these for 5-6 years so I got my money worth. I bought Deco BE11000 and had it for a week. I hated it, it was unstable and the internet speeds were all over the place. Compared to my Orbi, I got higher speeds (800 deco vs 500/600 Orbi) when I was close to the router, but worse speeds (80/90 deco vs 200 Orbi) when I was far away from the router. Some of my smart devices didn’t even connect at all. My work computer kept on dropping connection constantly even at 15 feet! Then tried the 770. The firmware was a mess. Constant dropping connections with several drops. My TV which is about 20ft away kept on losing WiFi and it drove me crazy. Specially at the price of 770. I finally went back to RBK752P and it’s been a dream. I get 800+ pretty much everywhere in the house and connection has been rock solid. Take that for what at worth!

r/orbiIs TP Link a good replacement for Orbi?

I feel you. I’m literally dealing with the same thing. I have the Orbi rbr750. Reading reviews, it seems everyone is having some type of problem. I finally gave in today and ordered the TP BE 1100 from Costco. If I can get by a week with no problems, that would be a win.

r/HomeNetworkingWi-Fi range issues in a 3BHK apartment with Ethernet in every room. Mesh or multiple routers?

I live in a 2 story apartment 1859 sqft unit. My setup what works for me - ATT Fiber Connection. All of my ports are active. I have a managed pod switch. Where I allow certain ports to received 100m Full Duplex, enabled QOS, and enabled VLAN configs. I have an Orbi RBF750 located upstairs and one downstairs. Ive done a crap ton of troubleshooting hopefully you dont have to go through what i did lol. First attempt - I allowed IP pass through on my ATT modem to orbit, because I wanted to control my configs settings. I noticed with IP pass through enabled my wireless device wasn’t able to cast things to devices that are hardwired, like my tv. Wireless speed was 5-600 up/down mbps during peek and non peek hrs. Eventually I reverted back due to not being able to cast things. Second Attempt - Turned Orbi to AP mode and utilize the one node as a wireless/wired backhaul. During this, I noticed a huge difference in speed and overall latency performance. With wireless/wired backhaul - I tried both but didn’t see much of a difference between the two even though wired provides better latency and throughput. I eventually just went with a wireless backhaul instead of wired for more of an aesthetic purpose. Network connection 750up/down during peek and non week hours on wireless devices. None of our iPads/Phones/ laptops have issues when roaming around our patio or so. My IOT devices are stable unlike when I had pass through enabled which made some devices with poor connection. Overall test what works for you before purchasing hardware and see what is ideal for you. My current topology ATT > ManageSW > Orbi in AP mode.

r/HomeNetworkingIs it better to go for a 2.4 GHz band, a Wi-Fi Extender or a Mesh System?

Go with a mesh system faster, seamless, and perfect for large homes. 2.4 GHz is slower, extenders drop speed. Try [Orbi AX4000](https://www.grabnpay.in/products/netgear-orbi-ax-4000-wifi-6-tri-band-mesh-system-with-router-amp-satellite-coverage-of-5000-to-7500-sq-ft-amp-40-device-connectivity?variant=45561583173936&_pos=12&_sid=703f7c586&_ss=r) or [AX6000](http://grabnpay.in/products/netgear-orbi-ax-6000-wifi-6-tri-band-whole-mesh-system-with-router-satellite-coverage-of-5000-to-7500-sq-ft-and-100-device-connectivity?_pos=8&_sid=703f7c586&_ss=r)

r/HomeKitEero vs Orbi vs ASUS (mesh WiFi 7)— HomeKit experiences?

I hated the WiFi 6 Orbi system I bought. It was lacking so many fairly basic features, such as QoS, firmware updates breaking basic functionality, and a very lackluster app-focused experience.  I replaced it with an ASUS WiFi 7 system comprised of a RoG router with two Zen nodes and it’s been a lot more solid with far more configuration options than I’ve ever seen on a residential router.  Maybe the Orbi WiFi 7 line has solved their earlier issues, but I’ll never buy one again based on my prior experience.

r/HomeNetworkingBest Wifi Router now for a House with way too Many Devices?

Netgear Orbi 2 or 3 unit mesh wifi kit. Or, more expensive but with more options Ubiquiti kit. Those are your best performance choices.

I moved from a Netgear Nighthawk router and extender to an Orbi network... Well worth it to me.
