Maybe, but I got the router I bought sorted, so I'm happy with it all. So, answering the question, the TP-Link Archer BE550 Pro is very good!
r/nbn • Recommended router for 2gig fttp ->Oops! I looked on Amazon again and it appears that TP-Link has 2 different varieties of Model BE9700 routers. The one that you are probably looking at has visible antennas? The one that I was referencing has internal antennas. Either one would be good. The only difference that I could tell between the BE9300 and BE9700 is the speed of the wired ports. The BE9700 has screaming fast wired ports which would probably be overkill for most people. The prices: * BE9300 internal antennas - $229.99 * BE9700 internal antennas - $269.99 * BE9700 visible antennas - $219.99 I wish that I could post pics. EDIT: WiFi 7 is usually 4 times faster than WiFi 6. Inside your house, sending data from the phone to router or router to phone it can be as much as 10 times faster. That's why you want to have WiFi 7.
r/BuyItForLife • Looking for Wi-Fi Router Recommendations! ->I would choose BT10. I just bought a BE92u yesterday noon and returned few hours later due to terrible 6G range. I was only able to get 100m-150m download speed from 1 floor above it (3-5M away). I also bought a BE800 and BE550 Pro to try out. Suprising BE550 Pro is pretty good overall for both mobile and desktop which makes me think both BE800 and BE550 Pro are very comparable. However, i still decided to return both becasue i didnt get any improvement compared to my old Asus Zen XD5 wifi 6 routers. At the end, I got the Asus BE98 Pro. I am able to max out the max out the ISP speed of 1.5Gbs from 1 floor above the router. Connection from mobiles is also fast and reliable. So i beieve a triband mesh should be as good.
r/HomeNetworking • Which wifi 7 router should I get between these? ->I ordered one last week and it has been a nightmare to say the least. Frequent connection drops, network slowdown for no necessary reason and more. I am getting a replacement unit today to see if it was a problem with the unit. It does fairly worse than the isp provided router at this point. If the replacement is the same i will return and get something more reliable like a netgear or asus. But for now, thanks tplink for destroying my weekend, rant over.
r/HomeNetworking • Is the TP-Link BE550 Pro a recommended router? ->They named these routers bad. BE9300 = BE550 and the BE9700 = BE 550 Pro. I think the main difference is the Pro has a 10g WAN port instead of 2.5G and can also do MLO on all 3 bands. I believe the non pro can only do MLO on two bands but I could be wrong BE550 Pro aka BE9700 would be the better router. Probably amazon's dynamic pricing
r/TpLink • TP-Link Tri-Band WiFi 7 router - BE9300 vs BE9700 ->They named these routers bad. BE9300 = BE550 and the BE9700 = BE 550 Pro. r/TpLink • TP-Link Tri-Band WiFi 7 router - BE9300 vs BE9700 ->Did the 2nd one work? I just got one over the weekend and connects and reconnects so frequently it's approaching useless. I can hardly even modify the settings!
r/HomeNetworking • Is the TP-Link BE550 Pro a recommended router? ->I’m running a custom hardware 1U pfsense firewall router hardwired outside to the dmark directly with Fios 1G up/down. Their crap router never did more than 920ish. Tossed that and built the pfsense system and have hit 1130 down 1049 up doing speed tests. I was gifted two TP-Link routers.. the BE9300 and a BE9700 with its 10GbE connection. I have 3 Netgear XS708E V2 8Port 10GbE managed switches at home. Honestly, all the negative chat is moot, they work and function perfectly fine and I run them as APs at each end of the house with pfSense providing dhcp, etc. I do find their menu system to be rather annoying however once setup you rarely need to bother with them again so don’t mind. Large 5000sq/ft 2-story with basement home, 2 out buildings and 1.5 acre lot. Good signal throughout the house and decent throughout the rest of the property. Not sure if I’d have bought them myself but was more than happy to receive them and they have performed without issues.
r/HomeNetworking • Recommended good routers in 2025 ->If you're willing to spend $250 you should probably be looking at a wifi7 router like the TPlink be9700. Tri-band wifi7 router. Once you get devices that support it, MLO network is where it's at. My phone is connected to sometimes all 3 bands at once. Might as well futureproof if you've got $250 to burn.
r/HomeNetworking • Best WiFi 6E router (preferably between $150-$250) ->I would look at the TP Link BE9700. Tri-band Wifi 7 router, it has a 10 Gbps wan and 4x 2.5 Gbps ports, so you are future proof. I bought the cheaper version a few months ago and sort of wish I spent more for this one. It’s on sale in Prime for $180. I spent $130 on the TP Link that does 1 Gbps max but back then the better one was about $199. So far I have been happy with the Tether app that runs it and my wifi speed has been great. Edit. The one I just bought is $106 or about $25 cheaper now. I really should stop looking at prices it just drives you crazy.
r/HomeNetworking • Want to take advantage of Prime Days, best budget (<$200) router ->a bit harsh ehh, but lol..... I actually upgraded my router after squeezing the life out of my old WiFi 5 setup, and holy hell I did NOT expect this big of a jump. The [**Archer BE550**](https://www.reddit.com/user/Whole-Necessary-6627/comments/1ombf1s/best_wifi_7_router_tplink_triband_be9300/) is my first WiFi 7 router and it legit feels like going from a Honda Civic to a Tesla. [https://www.reddit.com/HomeNetworking/comments/1ombf1s/best\_wifi\_7\_router\_tplink\_triband\_be9300/](https://www.reddit.com/user/Whole-Necessary-6627/comments/1ombf1s/best_wifi_7_router_tplink_triband_be9300/)
r/HomeNetworking • Wifi 7 Routers - reviewed & compared ->I am using the Archer BE550. Works great. I also have two other routers configured via easy mesh to extend to basement and another area of the home.
r/HomeKit • Is anyone using the TP-Link Tri-Band BE15000 WiFi 7 Router Archer BE700 for your smart home? ->I have a similar setup and needs and have TP link and it is solid. I have the BE550 as the main router and two easy mesh nodes (hardwired) and my network is solid, no issues with any devices
r/HomeKit • Reliable Wi-Fi 6 Router for Smart Home & 100+ Devices ->Netgear nighthawk for 6. Using tplink easy mesh for 7 and been happy so far
r/HomeKit • What Wi-fi 6 Router for home is the best value you've used? ->Short answer: Get the ASUS RT-BE86U. It’s the better buy over the BE82U because it adds a 10 GbE port (nice future-proofing for fast WAN/LAN) while both are dual-band Wi-Fi 7 (no 6 GHz). Reviews also show the BE86U’s 5 GHz performance and software are excellent. If you’d rather have 6 GHz (great for newer phones/laptops) and don’t need 10 GbE, consider the TP-Link Archer BE550, which is frequently around $199 and tested well for budget Wi-Fi 7. Go BE86U if you want ASUS features and a 10 GbE port for only \~$20 more. Go BE550 if you want 6 GHz at \~$200 and can live without 10 GbE. Why I’m recommending these BE86U vs BE82U: Both are dual-band Wi-Fi 7; BE86U adds a 10 GbE port (BE82U has five 2.5 GbE only). If prices are close, BE86U wins. TP-Link BE550: True tri-band with 6 GHz around $199–$229 and strong test results—great budget “next-gen” pick. TP-Link GE650: Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 gaming router that’s been seen at $250; good if you prioritize gaming features. If you want, tell me your internet speed and house layout—I'll tailor settings (channel width, MLO on/off, WAN/LAN hookup) for whichever you choose.
r/HomeNetworking • Which one should I buy? ->I have two Archer BE550 routers, one is setup as a satellite point for mesh wifi I have setup with an ethernet backhaul. The two stations give me all the coverage I need and are Wi-Fi 7. Consider the fact that your router will most likely last at leat 5, if not 10 years. You may not think you're upgrading to devices with 7 anytime soon, however you don't know when you may need to suddenly replace something, also what's the likelihood that you'll have the same devices in 5 years? When considering your network equipment, you should think longer term than a year or so.
r/HomeNetworking • Best wifi 6e router to buy ->Deco works really well with extending range. Actually better than a range extender, as Mesh systems are designed from the ground up to work with each other in the system. I had a Ge800 tied to a be550 and a WiFi 7 range extender. Super good stuff right? But it's half ass "patched up" jerky jerky mesh was no match to a Deco. Deco was snappier, more reliable, and longer range.
r/TpLink • Deco Mesh System Good for Gaming? ->I put my ISP modem on bridge mode and used TPlink as my main router. Then connect it with other tplink router via EASYMESH as it allows us to create mesh with wired backhaul. Below are the 2 links you need. I can’t tell you exactly what to do since ISPs might have different needs but below articles may give you an idea. I have BE550 and AX1500 on the Ethernet backhaul. https://www.tp-link.com/uk/easymesh/product-list/ https://www.tp-link.com/ae/support/faq/3731/
r/TpLink • 2 wireless routers instead of deco mesh? ->I have been using the BE550 for a few months now - my wifi experience is good. We have a 4600 sf house & I have it centrally located in the basement & on the top floor, the slowest I've seen testing it is \~1 gigabit.
r/HomeNetworking • TP-Link Tri-Band BE9300 WiFi 7 Router Archer BE550, should I buy it ->BE550 had all 2.5gb ports and GE800 has both 2.5gb and 10gb ports. The GE800 is geared for gaming. I have both for sale if youre interested let me know.
r/TpLink • Good routers with 2.5gigabit ports? ->I had nothing but positive experiences. So much so that I bought 2 other BE550s to put them in a hardwired easymesh setup. When I got the GE800 it was easy to add it as the main router and keep the other as mesh satellites. I was even able to add a vpn to the GE800 and spice upy gaming. My only complaint was the Tether app.
r/TpLink • Good routers with 2.5gigabit ports? ->>Confused why BE550 sells for $249 on Amazon while the identical BE9300 is $179 at Walmart. Also, BE550 Pro seems overpriced at $299 when BE9700 has same specs at $220. Careful, The BE550 has all 2.5GbE ports, but the BE9300 on Walmart has 2x 2.5GbE and 3x 1GbE ports. Blame TP-Link for the poor naming scheme. Amazon has the BE550 for less than $199 right now with coupon codes (just checked). It varies depending on if I'm logged in vs not logged in.
r/TpLink • TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 router under $250 - is 10G port worth it for 500 Mbps internet? ->Based on the reviews it's a good option. I own 3x BE550 (easymesh, wired backhaul). I'm in a challenging situation in a 2 br apartment with too many 5GHz signals and need to use DFS channels (1/4 power limit vs non DFS channels in US). I get great PHY link speeds in rooms with no interference.
r/TpLink • TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 router under $250 - is 10G port worth it for 500 Mbps internet? ->FYI. I have used airport extremes for many years. I recently upgraded to dual TP link Archer BE550’s. They promise a lot but under deliver on everything. I get fast wifi 6 and 7 speeds but the airport extremes delivered a better 2.4ghz experience. Stronger signal on the extremes, less disconnects etc. I had to keep my airport extremes in use to cover the 2.4ghz spectrum my cameras and roombas use. So in your situation I would definitely skip TP link.
r/HomeNetworking • I have an AirPort Extreme 802.11ac, and I live in a house where the walls between rooms are made of brick and are 80 cm to 1 meter thick. My router’s 5 GHz signal doesn’t pass through the walls well, so I use the 2.5 GHz frequency instead. My question is: will the new Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 routers work ->after the last couple of updates, my be550 has been working great for me.
r/TpLink • Good routers with 2.5gigabit ports? ->BE550 would do everything you would need. It’s a solid performer
r/TpLink • TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 router under $250 - is 10G port worth it for 500 Mbps internet? ->I just received the BE550 yesterday. Hooked on the 30% or so discount, and of course fair bit of research of course. got it for 199..and I am returning it. The WiFi performance on my BE550 is abysmal. Yes it’s not ideally central positioned, but that’s something you can’t always meet, specially if you have small children. It’s in the same exact spot where my aged VR2100 was, and that’s a 7 plus years old router that never costed anywhere near £200, on discount. The VR2100 has no problems providing solid 5GHz in our master bedroom, whilst the BE550 has no 5GHz at all in the same spot I sleep. Also WiFi signal strengths on it jumps too often, and I have only tested 6GHz couple times while sitting right next to BE550 and it had 23ping. I guess given there might be already some sort of hardware versions of 1.6 while mine is still 1.0, probably the reason why it is on sale. Bottom line is, if a fancy new router that was originally advertised at £300 can’t outperform a 7 plus years old router that was originally around £130, that is utterly sad and an instant return.
r/HomeNetworking • TP-Link Tri-Band BE9300 WiFi 7 Router Archer BE550, should I buy it ->As a be550 owner the 6ghz band is a hit or a miss. It frequently isn't found by my quest 3. It's not a bad router by any means but the 6ghz often just disappears. So I end up running things at 5ghz anyway. Maybe if 6ghz is important to you co sider a different band.
r/oculus • Wifi 6E vs Wifi 7 Router Purchase Question - Help appreciated ->Yup I got a TP Link BE550 and its been solid, using MLO my pc is getting 1.2 Gbps wirelessly.
r/pcmasterrace • Got the router all set up! ->I use Be550 for pico 4 ultra and work very well with VD on 600mb bitrate no stutter or high latency
r/PicoXR • Wifi 7 Router for the P4U? ->Pretty happy with my TP-Link BE550. Four 2.5 Gbps LAN Ports, with some strategically placed 2.5 Gbps switches to cover all my devices.
r/buildapc • Router recommendation with multiple 2.5G ports and solid WiFi? ->I have a Be550, it's pretty decent, but I would definitely opt for a name brand over tp link. Mainly because of their security controversy and their lack support over time. I only have one device that can actively use 6ghz/6e and nothing that uses wifi 7,but 6e/6ghz is super fast. Depends if you care about that, if not anything else can do the same with with better long term support... I don't use the be550 for my main wifi tho, I have an orbi mesh system in AP mode for my main wifi setup...
r/HomeNetworking • Recommended good routers in 2025 ->That’s really kind of you, a solid friend move. Yeah, the TP-Link BE550 is great for WiFi 7 at that price. If you’re open to WiFi 6E instead (still super fast and future-ready), the Archer AXE75 is a killervaluetoo, tri-band, reliable, and way under budget...
r/HomeNetworking • Best Value WiFi 7 Triband ->Hey! Based on your setup, gaming, VR, home server, 2.5G upgrade, and remote access, I’d skip the Mercedes. It’s new but doesn’t have a proven track record. Between the BE550 and AXE7800, the TP-Link BE550 is probably your best bet. Solid Wi-Fi 7 performance, full 2.5G ports all around, and great bang for the buck for under £200. The Asus is great too, but only one 2.5G port, so you'd hit the limits quicker with your setup. So yeah, go with the BE550, future-proof and suitable for your home lab + gaming combo.
r/HomeNetworking • Can't decide which router I should pick, homelab and gaming. ->I have 3 TP-Link Archer BE9300/BE550 routers (just got the 3rd) for a 3k sq ft house. Only reason I got the 3rd was for wired ports in a bedroom that I'll move some stuff to eventually. I have 2Gbps fiber and only have 1Gbps wireless devices. Plugging Ethernet into my laptop to the farthest router I get 600Mbps down/400Mbps up. They work very well and have good ping with no packet loss. I will eventually run Ethernet in the attic but that's a project for another month. This works amazingly for now. I moonlight from my computer in an unused room to my Legion Go anywhere in the house. I also have my Xbox plugged into the second router 30-40 feet from the main router and stream from the Xbox app all over the house flawlessly. Take this info for what it's worth. Edit: My Legion Go connects to wifi 6G just fine everywhere. The mentioned routers go on sale for $180 each regularly. "Refurbished" go lower.
r/MoonlightStreaming • Best mesh network with WiFi 6G for game streaming? ->Tp-links newest WiFi 7 router is sick for the price.
r/MoonlightStreaming • Does my Router matter when it comes to streaming Moonlight WITHIN my home? ->Honestly, TP-Link seems to have the best value WiFi7 certified on the market. This ASUS router isn't even certified. I purchased mine for $170 on sale, only drawback is no 10G ports; they're all 2.5G (which isn't an issue for like 95% of consumers).
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming routers have to be the biggest waste of money I feel ->Stay far away from routers with fans, I returned a tp-link wifi 7 router over this exact issue. Sfp port was so hot it was unreal. Try to cool your place in summer with air conditioning, you don't want some fan blowing heat. Also moving parts is a bad idea for longevity. Also when I ran latency tests I was loosing O.4 to 0.8ms over fiber with the tp-link, my old router from 10 years ago never added that much latency, just to give you an idea of how bad fans are. This is not enterprise, cisco is enterprise and they use heatsinks not fans. If you want a decent router for home, Netgear rs700 uses heatsinks and has 1500 more sq ft of range than this thing, yep not 2000sq feet, but 3500sq feet, should get good reception in your backyard this summer. If you want enterprise you'll have to go cisco.
