"My mom actually installed it herself with no problem. ... If you’re not familiar with networking it’s great system."
"Honestly I really like it, I have only had a few minor hiccups but the control I have is great and it was easy to set up. ... At least this way I can see what is and is not working and troubleshooting is easy. I also have a variety of controls to see who is connecting to what and I can block things easier"
"Just a no fuss system. ... Plug in, download the app, set ssid and don't worry about it anymore for years. ... Mine has been stable and working for years."

"Actually better than a range extender, as Mesh systems are designed from the ground up to work with each other in the system. ... But it's half ass "patched up" jerky jerky mesh was no match to a Deco. Deco was snappier, more reliable, and longer range."
"I did that and my Google home has never had a disconnect since."
"Became FANTASTIC once I strung some ethernet cables among four of them including the one serving as a router in strategic locations (our house is rather large and some walls contain metal lathe). ... We now always have excellent connectivity and fast roaming."

I eventually got fed up and dropped about $300 on a 3 pack of the Deco M9 Plus routers, it made a world of a difference and now there's nearly no dead zones in the house."

"go through Walmart and you'll most of the time find it on sale for less than $100 ... I picked up my 2 pack for around $80"
"The TP Link Deco mesh systems also provide good speeds at a much lower cost, so that would be my go to."
"deco have very nice, cheap and reliable options ... tp link is best bang for buck"

"I have tp-links deco mesh system and it’s rock solid."
"i noticed a BIG improvement once i conected all my decos via ethernet. ... it was a game changer, i use smart products from different brands and now i don't have any issues with disconections!! ... Some meross plugs disconected all the time before wiring my decos, now they work flawless!"
"Seconding TP-Link Deco. I've got a hybrid set up of M9 and M5 units (including one M5 in a detached garage) that's been rock solid for years."

"TP Link Deco definitely requires an app and an account ... although there is a web interface, it can't do much."
"Can confirm. Have Deco. Am miserable."
"rubbish app that won't let you change settings 9 times out of 10"

"If you can’t do a wired/coax backhaul between the nodes and have an older or brick house, I can’t recommend. ... The wireless bridge between access points is pretty horrible even like 20-30 ft from each other in my house."
"Just needed to turn off fast roaming since it was cutting off uploads randomly. Guess the house is too small for 3 APs."
"random disconnects"

"the deco wouldn’t play nice with my existing whole house tplink gigabit switch for the wired backhaul. Even though it was the same manufacturer. I tried forever, but finally I gave up"
"I had Deco. Spend hours trying to extend WiFi range with another node. Fail."

For sure. My home has a ton of ring cameras and a ton of smart phones and laptops connected. The isp router could not keep up and would drop your connection every 5 minutes or so, so it was shit for gaming. Not to mention my home is on the larger side and more rectangular than square shaped, so tons of dead zones once you left the living room where the modem and router are set up. I eventually got fed up and dropped about $300 on a 3 pack of the Deco M9 Plus routers, it made a world of a difference and now there's nearly no dead zones in the house. My PC is wired into one of the routers, and that router is wirelessly connected to the main AP, and my ping is at near pure Ethernet speeds
Hey! The TP-Link Deco M9 Plus and Deco X20 AX1800 are both solid mesh picks. M9 is super reliable, and X20 gives you Wi-Fi 6 and great coverage for 4,000+ sq ft. Yeah, extenders don't work in big houses. For 3500 sq ft, get a mesh system like TP-Link Deco or ASUS ZenWiFi.Covers everything, no dead zones, no 5G or 2.4GHz.
Look at TP-Link Deco or Eero. Both are solid mesh options. With 2 floors and a basement, a mesh system with wired backhaul (if you can run Ethernet) will give you the best performance. You can always start wirelessly and run cables later if needed. Just make sure whatever you get supports Wi-Fi 6. It'll handle gaming, streaming, and working better than anything else.
I can’t reply easily on my phone’s small screen but I am also on Vodafone with a Deco system. I moved to Vodafone last month from Virgin so I set it all up recently. Very easy to put it into dumb modem mode and the landline works no problem. I also have the 910 plan and, no, I don’t really get that anywhere other than directly connected to the router but honestly it’s more than good enough at its furthest from the main deco. I have a full on smart home - hue lights and Alexa in every room, eufy cameras on WiFi, laptops, phones, firetv - all totally fine but nothing really needs wifi7 as far as I can tell. I have one deco XE75 as the main access point and M9s in every room - none of the wired. All I would say is be strategic about where they are. I hate them on display but in a cupboard or behind things doesn’t work. They’re best waist-height or above and be aware of anything metal blocking them. I actually had ChatGPT recommend the best locations for everything and it did a great job helping come up with ideas for placement. It’ll walk you through the setup as well which I found useful. Done and dusted in less than an hour.
I installed a Deco 9 mesh through a big but single story house. Excellent kit. As others said you turn off the wifi of the supplied router, plug in 1 mesh device and then add others as needed. Gives one seamless SSID and another for guests if you want. Few parental controls.
I can’t speak for the eero myself since it’s actually my brother who’s using it and I’ve got a Deco actually lol. The app kinda sucks but once it’s all setup I didn’t need to do anything else. Got the 3 pack from Costco and it’s been solid. Just needed to turn off fast roaming since it was cutting off uploads randomly. Guess the house is too small for 3 APs.
I have a 3000 sq ft home and tricked tplink 3 deco unitsand am disappointed with it. Numerous units drop connection and it doesn’t cover my entire house. My 5 yr old orbi system never had these issues
TP link deco mesh triband works great.
You're probably better off looking for a WiFi mesh solution that can daisy chain between each other. A cheap kit that'll do the job would be one of the TP link Deco mesh kits.
Same, very happy with it.
