r/InternetPHGoods ba ito na gamiting router/repeater? Asking for your opinions/honest review
about 1 month ago

no, don't use that, i have one and it crashes and disconnects the devices due to it running out of ram, also that model was released 10 years ago. and it only supports 100M on lan. if you want a better one that has a similar price, then you can use the [fiberhome HG6245D](https://ph.shp.ee/RdoQrsC) (it is refurbished, also select the blueport flashed variation.) then after you receive it, you can use it as an access point by disabling dhcp, then connecting a lan cable from your source to the HG6245D.

Honestly, these routers are a complete disappointment. I set up a GT-BE19000 as my main mesh router and connected a GS-BE18000 via LAN backhaul as a . No matter how I configure them, I constantly lose Wi-Fi connection. On my iPhone, the signal bars jump from 1 to 4 and back again and I’m sitting in the near of the GT190000BE. I even tried adjusting the RSSI disconnect threshold, but that didn’t help at all. For comparison, my IoT devices are running perfectly stable on two old TP-Link WRT840 routers — those worked flawlessly. This so-called high-end setup is absolutely not worth the money, especially with these constant issues.

Kaka setup ko lang nito kanina. Natagalan at Di ko ma figure out kasi pinili ko yung “extender” sa quick setup. Gumana nung pinili ko ang “WISP”. Ok na sya ngayon. Hehehe

I noticed this too. Why is that naging bottleneck? 50mbps lang speed ng prepaid wifi namin. Binili ko to for guest network sana kaso wala palang bandwith control. Ayoko maka access ang guests sa direct router namin kc

r/InternetPHRECOMMENDATIONS: DECENT WIFI ROUTER

I use simple tplink tlwr840n for ip specific device limiting for household clients. In my experience, tplink works well, quite flexible, for household device specific rate limiting by IP and with ip mac binding (static dhcp). For more serious installs, i use mikrotik. If u want quality routing, good wifi, NAS usb but can settle for just ip specific QOS without the specific speed limit as such, i recommend linksys EA8300.

I currently have 2 TPlink N300 acting as a bridge between the barn and the house at my father in laws house. Had about 5 years. 428 feet. Minor hiccups sometimes but nothing major. We have considered other options but this works good enough. I use these repeaters too to spread access around my property (mesh wasn’t an option when I first setup) and works well for my needs, mainly having easy streaming when mowing or in my tree stand since cell service can be spotty here. You lose some bandwidth using these repeaters but depending on the use case it may not matter.

I personally use the TP-Link N300 - I did a video explaining how it's connected a while ago; it's at around 12 mins: [https://youtu.be/gcn4zq-MaMI?si=yem-Qf4F6qhX26ku&t=720](https://youtu.be/gcn4zq-MaMI?si=yem-Qf4F6qhX26ku&t=720)
