I use it and it’s pretty good. Not really sure what people hate on it for, although I’m in a small apartment so range isn’t an issue. It’s super fast though I get 1.5Gbps+ on my phone
r/Fios • whats the good things and bad things using the cr1000a wifi router ? ->i tried it for a few days, but returned it. g1100 gives me close to 300/300. but the CR was only giving me 150/50 for some reason. spent hours with tech support trying to fix it, but couldnt. maybe a got a bad version, i dont know. but that was my experience with it.
r/Fios • whats the good things and bad things using the cr1000a wifi router ? ->I'm using the new Verizon CR1000A router which supports WiFi 6e and I'm very happy with it. I'm also running two Verizon CE1000A WiFi extenders connected to the router via coax (MoCA). I also installed Verizon ASK-MAE340 MoCA Ethernet adapters in my home office and my wife's home office, so our computers are connected via Ethernet. Very happy with my setup, house is fully saturated with a strong WiFi signal and home/work computers are hard-wired with Ethernet. Love having everything connected via MoCA instead of using RF.
r/Fios • Fios Router or TP-Link Archer AX72 Pro ->Mine hasn't worked right since I got it. Every hour or 2, it disconnects from the internet for 3-5 minutes.
r/Fios • whats the good things and bad things using the cr1000a wifi router ? ->I’m gonna say go with the ax72 pro. In my experience, the cr1000a has shoddy performance, especially over 5ghz with the upload speed.
r/Fios • Fios Router or TP-Link Archer AX72 Pro ->I started with the CR1000B. I got advertised speed of 300 up and down. But it would often spontaneously reboot, and Verizon replaced it promptly. They sent a CR1000A. It has the WiFi 6E with 6ghz support and is rock solid. But I consistently get mostly 300 down and only max 140 up on wireless. (Wired I still get advertised speed). Sometimes the upload speed fixes itself if I reboot the router but it never stays. I've been considering getting my own router (likely ASUS RT-BE92U).
r/Fios • whats the good things and bad things using the cr1000a wifi router ? ->Upload speeds seems to be an issue. If I connect to the ONT directly I always get good uploads. Connected to the CR is get 150. This is on multiple installs at multiple houses in multiple areas. If you are tech savvy enough I would look into a different router. I personally think this is the worst router we ever came out with.
r/Fios • whats the good things and bad things using the cr1000a wifi router ? ->The CR1000A is simply a better router than the Asus. Why shouldn't he use it?
r/Fios • Best access point for Fios CR1000a Router ->The CR1000A is better on paper, though it does have pretty spotty Wifi performance based on various user reports online, for actual routing though, it's still a better router. The AX72 Pro only has 1x2.5Gbps port, the rest are 1gbps. The CR1000A has a 10Gbps WAN port, a 10Gbps LAN port, and two 2.5gbps LAN ports. If you already own the AX72 Pro and want to use its wifi instead of the Verizon router's wifi, you can disable the Verizon router's wifi, and run the AX72 Pro as an access point (so you're not double NATing). https://i.imgur.com/oGSHbN3.png Here is a picture of the AX72 Pro's user guide showing how to set up access point mode. https://i.imgur.com/KtInHZG.jpeg And here is a picture showing how to disable the wifi on the Verizon router. It just doesn't make too much sense to replace the CR1000A which is 10gbps capable on 2 ports (and has 2.5gbps on the other 2 ports) with a router that is only 2.5Gbps capable (and only on 1 port).
r/Fios • Fios Router or TP-Link Archer AX72 Pro ->Yup, just make sure to configure the AX72 Pro as an access point so you don't double NAT and cause more problems. I've found the CR1000A has great performance with ethernet. Speedtest related. https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/de36c3ee-7bef-47e9-b8af-eb38742524b2.png
r/Fios • Fios Router or TP-Link Archer AX72 Pro ->I have to use it because I have FIOS TV+. I really haven’t had any issues. I have 4 people in the house using about 30 different devices. I’ve had no down time or speed issues.
r/Fios • whats the good things and bad things using the cr1000a wifi router ? ->I have 2 cr1000a's, #1 as the router and #2 as an access point/extender MOCA'd in to #1. Good: -Stable. I never have to reboot them. -Fast wired speed. They both max out my 300/300 connection on Ethernet. -Cheap. One was free from Verizon and the other was 50 bucks on FB marketplace. Not so good: -Wifi upload speeds. I can get max download (300) throughout my house, but upload rarely gets above 200. Even standing right next to it. -6e connection. For some reason my phone connects to the 6e network when I get home, but reverts to 6 at some point and the 6e network doesn't show up as a choice. Not sure if it's a cr1000a thing or a phone thing. Overall it's great if you can get it rent free!
r/Fios • whats the good things and bad things using the cr1000a wifi router ? ->For an apartment or very small footprint, it's good. The moment you start looking at an extender, you might as well look at something else.
r/Fios • whats the good things and bad things using the cr1000a wifi router ? ->Just replaced my system with a new FIOS cr1000A router and ce1000a coax extender. I had the older setup with G1100/WCB6200Q. Super pleased with the results!!!
r/Fios • Nest wifi pro or new Verizon router? ->They sent me the CR1000a router and the CE1000a moca extender. It’s perfect for my 2100sq.ft home. I did turn off the 6 radio since a few of my devices were messed up by the WPA3
r/Fios • whats the good things and bad things using the cr1000a wifi router ? ->I was thinking about the Eero 7 models, but Verizon offered to send me an updated router CR1000a and the moca extender CE1000. It’s tri band and 4x4 antennas for each band 2.4, 5, 6Ghz . Free is what sealed the deal for me. Talk to a real person, not a 💬 chat, whine a little about poor performance and cost. Wonder if the competition is cheaper, they will escalate and deliver the equipment for free. Good luck
r/HomeNetworking • Best WiFi for my home? ->Both the G3100 and CR1000 routers are really good.
