If you hardwire the Orbi backhaul then experience wise it will be just as good for WiFi. What a system like Ubiquity will give you is more control to isolate parts of your network with VLANs etc and access to better firewall features like IDS/IPS. Firewalla is another one to consider and I use a Zyxel nebula system myself.
