she has the aero fit pro be aware they aren't as perfect for intensive or critical music listening (as they don't seal) but she often forgets she wears them (and she is very sensitive around ears) Incredible for podcasts, calls and background music

When you say "earbuds", do you mean IEMs? Have you tried so-called open ear headphones? They're also designed to allow you to hear your environment, but they use traditional dynamic drivers instead of bone conduction. I have the Shokz OpenRun Pro, but have since purchased the Soundcore AeroFit Pro. The Aerofit sound much better, particularly in low frequencies. I might get the OpenFit 2 if something happens to my AeroFit, but when I bought them, I'd tried 2 others from Amazon that were pretty well regarded and stood out from the competitors, and the Soundcore were easily the best to my ears. They also are separate earbuds, but have an attachable band to have a similar neckband style to the Shokz - except, for the Soundcore, the band is adjustable.

i have switched to open air ear buds like aerofit pro and shokz open fit. You lose noise canceling but gain all day comfort for listening to music. My ears don't get sore like with in ear silicone buds If i need noise canceling i just use my headphones

Here are the ones I’ve tried. Shokz- great headphones. It sits next to your ear rather than over. Forever tethered and that can get annoying, especially if you’re wearing a high collared shirt. Shokz now has a non tethered version - I always see them returned at REI so do with that information what you will. Beats headphones - the ones that have an arm that go around your ear. I put the clip over my ear then let it dangle in front of my canal. If I want total block of ambient, I put them in like they’re intended. Three different soundcore - all very affordable especially if you get them refurbished on eBay. All controllable sound quality and controls through their app. Super super long battery life. I think I’m a soundcore person now, the ROI is just much higher with these considering their price, the way I use them, and my perceived sound quality. 1. Soundcore c30i (there are upgraded versions of it) - I really liked these they rest on the flappy part of your ear and project the sound towards the ear canal. Great sound and control. less than $50 cheap. 2. Soundcore v30i. Love these, they’re the older model but I like these because they adjust on the arm itself so you can make it more or less ambient to outside sound. Sits on top of the ear. Also less than $50 if you get them refurbished. I use these at home. 3. Soundcore Aerofit pro. I use these for work - people say I sounds great on calls and don’t hear my coworkers (I work in pretty busy and noisy office. Great sound - dare I say too great, I get overwhelmed sometimes. It sits on top of the canal so you can hear if you need to (not adjustable). These ran closer to $100 - even refurbished. They come with a strap if you want to tether them. The battery life on these are crazy - I charge once a week and I’m on those all day 5 days a week between calls and music.

Anker Aerofit Pro. Separate over the ear open air buds. Great quality sound, good bass, sweat resistant, 14 hour battery life (!).

I LOVE the soundcore by Anker Aerofit Pro buds. I have tried so many earbuds through the years and I highly prefer these over the ear ones to any I've ever used.  The sound quality is awesome and they have never fallen unintentionally (with the exception of one coming off occasionally when pulling a shirt off over my head). The battery lasts forever. And they are so comfortable that both I and my husband have had to feel our ears to check whether we were still wearing them.  😅

Soundcore by Anker Aerofit pro are amazing. I really loved shokz until they failed during my first ever marathon. Almost five hours of running without music was not easy. I use them in all weather: winter, rain, snow, summer heat and they just keep on going. They’re worth checking out.

When running, shokz openmove (although I'm hoping to eventually upgrade to openrun pro 2). The rest of the time, sound core aerofit pro. It's important to me to be able to hear the sounds going on around me, whether that's cars when running, or my kids / spouse / washing machine, so I prefer open ear options.

I love my shokz openrun pros for running. I also have a pair of aerofit pros for around the house, if you want open ear without bone conduction. Both are good. If I used my aerofit for running, I would use the little neck piece to keep them in place better. Honestly, I wish shokz would make the neck piece size-adjustable the way it is for the aerofit instead of selling multiple sizes... But I wear the aerofits loose to make it easier to charge them. I haven't run with them because I got the baby blue and I think it would probably get nasty looking.

I was wondering about them. I have the aerofit pro and I find it great for sleeping because it’s not inside my ear compared to the AirPods. Did it bother you at the beginning ? Is is confortable to sleep on the side ?

Soundcore Aerofit Pro. Initially bought them for cycling. I barely feel them sometimes I forget they’re there. They never fall off my ears. Confortable for sleeping. They have a very long battery life so I can fall asleep with them and wake up to a barely decreased battery. The sound is also good enough to enjoy listening to music and I’m actually confortable not being cut off from my surroundings. They’re good for cycling. I still hear traffic and if I don’t it’s because of the wind and then I don’t hear anything, so around 25km/h.
