This is interesting as this has not been my experience! I have the sleep A20 earbuds and the p40i and the battery on both of those have been very impressive.

I have the Soundcore a20 sleep earbuds. I was loving them until 2 weeks shy of the 1 year mark, the left sometimes charges to 30%. Now today only 2 days after the 1 year mark, the left sometimes doesn't charge at all, it is hit or miss. I contacted the company and I followed the troubleshooting instructions they gave me. Unfortunately, there was no resolution to this issue. I guess these will not last more than a year. That said, up until then, they were wonderful. I had insomnia until I purchased them and have never slept better! Unfortunately, I did not have the extended warranty. I never usually purchase an extended warranty. Well, with these I will from now on! I just purchased the new a30 and added the 2 yr warranty! I am a bit worried about the most recent reviews! Especially for $299! We will see. At least now I am fully covered for replacements if needed after a year! BOTTOM LINE: Due to my positive past experience with the a20 earbuds, I would recommend them. HOWEVER, I would not purchase them without the extended warranty!!!

I agree about the sleep or no sleep! I paid over $200 for the a20 Soundcore. They just lasted almost a year. I made the mistake of not getting the extended warranty! I now just purchased the a30 earbuds $299. But I was smarter this time around! I purchased the 2 yr warranty! That said, IF these don't last a year, I will get a replacement! And then another year. So, that is only $100 a year ;)

r/iemsside sleepers — what’s your pick for the best sleep earbuds for side sleepers that don’t stab your ears?

Sennheiser IE200 with Whizzer ET-100 tips (these are super-slick tips with an antibacterial coating). I also have the Soundcore A20 Sleep Buds and they seem to irritate my ears more, although the wires and related things are annoying. Whereas the Sleep Buds just work, and the alarm is pretty good as well. Mind you the difference between the IE200 and the Sleep Buds isn't huge, so if you find them really bad then you might not find the IE200 much better. Absolutely *not* the Chu 2 btw (since a lot of people are saying that). If you find the Sleep Buds uncomfortable those will be much worse because they're quite a bit thicker (despite being relatively small for an IEM). They're also metal and have have a 90-degree ridge all around the edge, whereas the IE200 is fully rounded-off. The Meze Alba is apparently similar to the IE200 shape, but slightly larger, though I haven't tried it myself. I also don't like bullet-style IEMs, because those can quite easily get pushed too deeply into the ear canal, which could end up causing some more serious damage than a minor ear infection. In fact I have two IEMs that I've also used which are the EPZ Q1 and the Q1 Pro, but of these I dislike the Q1 Pro because the small difference in shape means the nozzle is able to push deeper into my ear. So the plain Q1 might cause a little bit more discomfort around the concha area, the Pro can cause pain actually in the ear canal, which IMO is a lot worse.

If you’re after something comfy enough to wear all night, I’d say check out the Google Pixel Buds Pro or the Soundcore Sleep A20. The Pixel Buds Pro are a great all-round pick, it has good sound, solid connection, and they sit nicely in your ears without poking out too much, so they’re still fine for side sleeping. But if your main goal is comfort while you drift off, the Soundcore Sleep A20s are hard to beat. They’re tiny, super soft, and built specifically for sleeping, so you don’t wake up with sore ears or missing buds in the morning.

r/HeadphoneAdviceLong shot, but - super discreet earbuds that can't be seen or heard by others and allow some sound in?

JLab Mini are tiny and have ambient mode, though I haven't personally tried it. I do have the Soundcore Sleep A20, and they provide you with silicone tips with holes in it for breathability, but it works well to let in ambient sound too. The A20s are very discrete, but the color doesn't exactly match skin color that well; it's more of a cream gray color. Battery life might be an issue with your 12 hour shift though. I think the best option is to look for a pair of bone conducting glasses (sorry I don't know any). They should look discrete enough, probably more so than earbuds. The bone conduction would mean audio isn't played out loud, and the open ear design lets you hear your boss.

I have the A20s as well. The rubber is super soft. Battery life is 8 hrs max and they are not noise canceling. I don't like their app either. Even with all that I like my A20s.

I bought the Soundcore Sleep A20 set from Amazon for a 6 week trip of shared hotel room with my snoring bestie, they worked like a hot damn! I'm a side sleeper, the are super comfy in that position. They have a built in "sleep setting" with nature sounds! Comes with a ton of earbuds for regular or sleep wear. Totes recommend these.

Soundcore Sleep A20 ear buds (for anyone who listens in bed!). These are designed for side sleepers, but I use them as my everyday headphones too. Amazing black Friday sale right now, but honestly worth every penny full price. I use mine daily and this is my second pair -- first pair (earlier generation) lasted 2 years before I accidentally put them through the washing machine 🫥.
