I have Anker Life U2i Wireless Neckband, which I like because they sound good and automatically pair with the device attached to my TV to connect headphones. But they only get 12-16 hours of battery, so sometimes I use a brand called Nepartek which I don't see available on Amazon anymore. They have a bigger battery and I can sometimes get up to 3 days before needing a charge. The sound quality is good but not quite as good as the Anker, and for that one device they don't automatically pair. I didn't buy either one for the specific purpose of ASMR. They had features I wanted within my price range and got good reviews. I have tried a few over the ear models just to give my ears a break, but so far haven't found any wireless ones that are comfortable.
I used the Skullcandy Jib XT Active Bluetooth ones for years. Went through several pairs cuz I kept misplacing them lol. Then one of my half marathons last year, about a week out, was looking like it was gonna be some serious rain on the forecast I wasn't planning for and I always run with SOMETHING on (music, podcast). Couldn't risk them dying and so looked for something with more waterproof aspect. Soundcore by Anker were recommended and were like IPx7 rated, basically fully waterproofed. I tried em. They connected, disconnected a time or two in the beginning but I got them to stay on eventually but the problem for me was I have smaller ears and they were/are just so uncomfortable and don't sit right in my ears. They constantly feel like they're going to fall out. I really truly wanted to like them esp for the waterproofness 🤦🏼♀️ My last race I said f it, I can't deal with how uncomfortable they are but I lost yet another pair of my aforementioned jib actives 😅. Went to Walmart to get one and grabbed one. Also grabbed a skull candy Smokin Buds XT wireless buds as well. Not fully water proof but ixp4 I think or something close. Figured I'd try em. Well, turns out the replacement jib XT I got are wired. Like fully. It says it nowhere on the packaging anywhere at all and I ripped the box open so I can't return them. They looked identical before that but thankfully the smokin buds xt are actually comfortable AF and my race was in misty wet crap the whole time so I'm calling those a win. 10/10 recommend. So many people recommend various bone conducting ones too and I so so wish I could wear them but I'm blind as a bat and have to have glasses so I don't think I can really wear or comfortably wear any of those ones recommended. Alas I must stick with these. 🤷🏼♀️
Second, or fifth, or whatever the shokz. Unless your an absolute audiophile they're great, comfortable, and safe when your out on the road/trail. In the gym I use mysoundcore sports with noise canceling.
As we hit the midway mark of the year, I think this post is a little bit long overdue. I’ve been trawling through the subreddit for a while but a first time poster so be gentle with me. I was just seeing a lot of reccs on here that would come up over and over and wanted to stretch out the reddit chops. So let’s get into the list: 1) Been seeing so much love for Soundcore with some minor issues in some units but the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro have been tracking really well with active noise cancellation and reliable af. they don't break and they don't go crackly. 2) In the same vein the Soundcore Sport are under a hundred dollars and sound quality wise really good. but the thing is you have to have the companion app and go into the EQ settings to fiddle around with the headID then they work great. the EQ presets they have aren't great so you have to do your own trial and error process. 3) Huawei Freebuds SE 3. These are really really underrated. you can see them getting recced more now but the battery life is really good, ditto for sound quality, no crackling and last a really really long time. 3) Shockz Open Dots. These are a super niche sort of bud, the reviews on just this r/ alone are great but they are fully open earbuds and have no ANC. so sound quality wise, they’re amazing but not good for shutting the world out so more of a supplementary pair 4) Sony WF-1000XM5. These are just a legacy recc on Reddit, been seeing them for years and seamless bluetooth connection, great sound quality, adaptive ANC. the reason they're so low on the list is because it's nothing new to see these ones recced on every list, so thought I'd not toot their horn too much. 5) Bose Quietcomfort earbuds II. so these are in the same category as the Sony ones, legacy recc. They have amazing active noise cancellation and passive isolation. just overall great pair. 6) Samsung Galaxy buds Pro, these are mainly here for the android integration. sumsung has been trying to become like apple with their own ecosystem but these work great with all androids period. the only issue is the fit because the ear tip sizes are usually off and one of them will keep falling out. 7) Apple Airpods Pro 3. The only reason these are on my list is the popularity vote. but other than that, i think the only redeemable quality is the multipoint bluetooth. but they keep falling out, have a lifespan of about 3 years max and there's plenty of other wireless earbuds on this list that have multipoint connectivity. Hope this was useful and you don;t have to read through a lot of long posts to make a decision, keep adding onto this in the comments or if you think the ranking should be changed lmk!
Love my soundcore ear buds. Like the sport model with the hook to hold them if I fall asleep on plane.
Team soundcore sport here. Haven’t tried shokz though
