Yeah, I feel the same. Open ear buds are honestly the most comfortable ones I’ve ever used. Once you put them on, it’s easy to forget they’re even there. I’m using the baseus XC1 now. I actually find it more comfortable than the earhook style since it has less contact with my ears.

I just got the Baseus XC1s. The sound quality is amazing. They are so comfortable. The bass is incredible and they have both Dolby surround and Bose audio. Plus you can heavily customize the EQ.

Love my XC1s sound so close to my in ear buds but are so much more comfortable. The bass is incredible as is the overall sound. I am impressed. I am still deciding whether I like LDAC mode or using the EQ and Dolby audio more.

Just got the XC1s and the Sound is incredible. You quickly forget that you have them on. They are the most comfortable ear buds I’ve ever used. Glad I went with them. Also the bass is nice for open ear buds.

They have a nice EQ in the app. I haven’t taken a call on them yet. The only down side is that you can’t use the EQ or Dolby audio when using them in LDAC mode, but that is the case with most earbuds that support LDAC. They sound great either way. For a lot of the music you can’t tell the difference between the LDAC and the normal audio mode. Plus LDAC is sketchy on my Pixel 10 Pro XL. I’m going to play with the EQ more today, I haven’t tried any custom settings yet. It has a lot of adjustments that you can make. I have just been using the Bose default so far.

Just got the Baseus XC1s they are so comfortable that you forget that you have them on and the sound is incredible for open ear buds. I can wear them cycling and still hear my surroundings or wear them in the waiting room while at my doctor’s appointments.

Thank you for this post. Recently just got a pair and they're horribly buggy (Constant disconnects, static-y audio, horrible audio lag), so I likely have a faulty pair and was deciding between a refund or a replacement. I'll get a replacement and see how they fair.

After getting my 2nd replacement for poor connection, I have to return these and I cannot recommend them. Repeatedly with 2 units I would have the same pauses and disconnects when simply having the phone in my pants pocket. (Side pocket not the back) Not to mention I didn't even have Dolby Atmos or LDAC turned on and I'd still have disconnects when going out for my walk.

Haha, absolutely love earclip earbuds. Just got my XC1 yesterday as well - so far I've been very pleased with them for the price.

Lol yeah I've been rocking my Shockz OpenDots for a few months. I always reach for them first in the morning, then when the battery is drained (about 5-6 hours later), I switch to my Aeroclips. Question for you - at max volume, do you notice a 'warble' sound to the bass notes on the OpenDots when it hits a low bass note? I only notice this issue at max volume. But at 50% or lower volumes, no warble - the sound quality is sufficient for my daily use around the office. I'm still trying to figure out if this warbling of the bass note is due to the bass driver clipping as the driver is bottoming out (doubtful based on the sound I'm hearing), or is it some sort of signal processing - maybe the software is trying to compensate somehow for higher volumes with limited travel on the drivers? My new Baesus XC1 (tuned by Bose, with LDAC protocols) are scheduled for delivery Wednesday (literally brand new earbuds, I preordered a month ago lol). I'm anxious to see how they will stack up against the Shockz OpenDots.

Yeah, when you enable EQ and other features, the max volume tends to get reduced slightly (to help compensate for pushing up the EQ bands on some frequencies). I know it's quite controversial, but I'm more of a purist - I leave all extra EQ's and sound enhancements disabled. I prefer to enjoy the speakers as they were built and tuned, which is why I think I'm going to like the Baesus XC1 because they are tuned by Bose's engineers (and I've been rocking Bose earbuds in the gym for years, so I know what to expect)

So I have mixed feelings about the XC1. I find the fit is a bit more 'loose' than other earclips I've handled. Not that it's going to fall off on their own, but I have them slide off my ears when trying to hit the physical button. That said performance wise they're pretty good. Bass is good enough at lower volumes, LDAC is a nice feature (if not a bit confusing to enable, took me a few tries to actually figure out that I had to enable LDAC in the bluetooth settings for the earbuds in addition to enabling in the Basesus app). My issue that I've experienced is that at max volume, the total power output seems to go quiet when the bass is hitting hard. When it's higher frequency notes, the sound is nice and loud, but as soon as the bass drops, it seems like the software turns down the volume slightly to compensate and protect the drivers or something. Either way that is VERY annoying and I haven't found a way to fix that. In my experience, I enjoy my Shockz OpenDots sound quality and volume, except those earclips do not have LDAC, and at max volume instead of turning down the volume the DSP adds some sort of "warble" to the bass and I can't figure out if it is intentional or simply a byproduct of the design for the low driver fluttering as it's bottoming out? I dunno So basically I love both my XC1 and Shockz OpenDots One at medium volumes. For bicycling outdoors when I need louder volumes, I think I'm going to stick with the OpenDots and deal with that annoying warble. But yeah, at max volume - I'm not "wowed" by these XC1 earclips. However given that I paid $109, I think it was a fair price for what you're getting

I’ve got an open-ear pair too, the Baseus XC1. I’ve tried walking in the park at around 60% volume and there’s basically no sound leak. Unless someone’s right next to your face, they won’t hear a thing.

I've had mine for about a week. I love the sound and features, but these do not fit as securely on my ears as my Baseus Bowie MC1 Pros nor my Sound core Aeroclips. All it takes is a slight tug or a light brush against them for them to come off. I would not feel confident biking with them on.

This is quite a true assessment of open earbuds. I love my Baseus XC1---i love the sound quality in doors and outside (I usually keep it ~30/40% volume). They are snug and comfortable, I don't even notice them on me. The microphones are pretty good too for calls. However, they get very quickly drowned out when I am outside due to traffic, construction, or extreme weather, forcing me to crank my volume all the way up. I am considering buying in-ear buds or over-ear headphones for other situations, where frequencies drown out easily.

You have no budget whatsoever and you’re worried about a new one coming along? I can’t follow that logic. I recommend trying some open ear earbuds. I just wear them all day because I still hear my surroundings normally and they sound great. I have the Baseus XC1 which sounds great but it’s only $120 so you can probably do a lot better.

I bought this because of this post. Amazing earbuds. I can wear it all day because it doesn’t block out other people. Just pause the music and you’re good.

Yes the sound is Noticeably better it's got better Bluetooth with Bluetooth 6.0 and the case sits much more comfortably in your pocket the only real downside is it doesn't have mono mode which your not likely to use anyway with them being open earbuds

Hey sorry about the slow reply got a false ban the xc1 is the best sounding by a notable margin there are others that are close with their base but not with the clarity the only annoying thing is they don't have mono mode but that's not been a problem yet and will probably be addressed with an update in the future and a minor advantage although the case is slightly taller the shape makes it sit better with other stuff In the pocket

It’s the baseus xc1. I bought a white one after trying his. Perfect for workouts. It’s really comfy too, the part that touches the ear feels soft and doesn’t press at all. Sometimes I forget I’m even wearing them.

Love it. For in-ear wireless, these have been best as far as fit for my ears. Fits great and doesn't fall out as easily as others that I've tried. Sound quality very good and no issues with battery life. Been using Baseus xc1 open ear clipon lately though. Mainly more for comfort and lightweight, sound quality not as good of course. But i use them went i just want some tunes in my ear while doing things like mowing lawn or even gym.

I really like the fact that with this style you can hear also what's going on around you. Fit my lifestyle so much better without a hassle! Plus I've had Baseus earbuds before and I wasn't disappointed with quality at all, just finally admitted the pods I was trying just didn't fit my ears, lol

Got em on sale. The design is neat and the physical button is a godsend. However, they *are* cheap and the sound quality leaves much to be desired. Compared to the Bose QuietComfort II, though, they have no connection issues so far which is a big plus. The Baseus is not very loud, which is pretty detrimental considering its design. For any place with decent background noise, I would vastly prefer something in-ear. While they are pretty comfortable, shifts in position will lead to a drastic decrease in performance as the speaker no long aligns with your ear canal, so when I adjust them, I have to fiddle with them for a bit until the sound is passable again.

If you feel disconnected with in-ears, open-ear earbuds like the Baseus pair make daily use way more natural since they let ambient sound in without killing music quality, and $39.49 is a fair price because Baseus models usually have decent battery life, comfortable fit, and clear enough audio for casual listening.
