"I even washed them accidentally and still worked perfectly fine afterwards."
"Been using them for about four years working out in my gym, and cycling daily (45+ minutes on a bicycle outdoors)."
"The build quality is amazing, thing is a tank (99% sure it could stop a bullet). ... I have it for 5-6 years now, pretty much bought it right after release and its still every bit as good as it was out of the box. ... And I use it day and night, summer and winter, water or ice, be it +30C or -30C whatever."

"I wear them for all my workouts. Yoga, HIIT, Kickboxing, Core, Strength and kayaking."
"My dog caused me trip at a full run, they did not fall out when I hit the ground and rolled over"
"I wear my Bose Quietcomfort-Ultra earbuds for cycling daily (outdoors) and my gym needs. ... They have wingtips that lock into the ears. ... They always stay secure in my ears. ... The biggest difference (from a gym/cardio user) standpoint between the QC2 and the QC-Ultra is the wingtips - the QC-Ultra adds a tiny 1mm notch to the top of the wingtips rubber band so that it locks into place. ... But the QC-Ultra fixes that minor complaint. ... But yeah, I cycle daily ... wearing my QC-Ultra earbuds for an hour and love em. I jam out to music while getting the heartrate going."

"I use it for the same reasons and love it. ... I would not consider the regular Apple Watch because of battery life."
"the battery life easily lasts 10+ hours."
"Used them on a 50k without having to recharge."

"I had Powerbeats pros a couple years ago and liked them for snowboarding because I could use the controls even with gloves and a beanie on"
"These are the only ones i've tried that have decent controls for volume, stop, fast fwd, rewind."
"Easy to use and go forward or backwards between tracks just by pressing the button"

"they were uncomfortable for my ears ... they kinda really hurt my earbuds after 30 minutes of use ... my ears would hurt too much so I had to return them."
"the pros left me with a non healing scrape in my left ear that I could never find a reasoning for. ... apparently I wasn’t the only one to have this mystery effect. ... the AirPod pro 2s were 100% better (with the exception of them injuring my ear lol)"
"I must have big ears. ... I could not get a solid fit. ... Move-around stability and ANC were atrocious, I’m sure because of the fit."

"About a year and the right bud would last about 15 minutes on a full charge."
"An almost new pair I wore in a mountain 100 was dead after the race. ... It was all stretched out and even had a hole in the side when it wasn't that crazy technical of terrain."

"having somewhat of a shittier ANC. ... For the use of buses or even home, don't even think about it, the ANC goes crazy with the sound of the engine and the passive noise reduction is almost non present. ... I'd rather not having headphones in the bus and actively listen to the engine than to have these headphones and having to actually listen to the engine as well + weird ANC noises + doghsit quality audio. ... this newer model somehow improves in actually nothing and somehow got an even worse ANC even though the first already barely even had at all. ... ANC: it does contain it, but it does not contain it. ... Bluetooth buds have one purpose which is having ANC, and sounding slightly good. These couldn't even deliver on that."
"they are not noise canceling"
"The ANC is useless, you can hear pretty much everything."

"I tried several different songs/types of music and keep switching between my OG PBP and these, and the OG PBP blow them out of the water in regards to sound. ... these are the worst sounding earbuds I've ever used. And I own APP 2, OG PBP, and AirPods 4. And I love them all"
"Similar experience in the gym, they actually ruined the workout lol"
"But the sound is awful. ... It is inferior to the previous and definitely inferior to the Sennheiser Sport which I have. ... the high / treble is painful and tinny. ... The lows don't exist. ... You raise the volume and it is shrill almost and feels like it will destroy your ears, you keep the volume low and you don't hear anything in the low range."

"the case stopped charging the buds tonight (the case is fully charged). ... Garbage is garbage."
"Randomly my right ear bud started to disconnect ... after going through some trouble shooting I forgot this device but now what’s happening is the right ear bud won’t charge at all. ... With the right earbud not making connection at all I can’t even get the case to connect either lol. ... taken into consideration that these are 11 days old and I’ve not used them every day"
"just hate how just one earbud isn’t charged or not connected sometimes"
Got them today. I had the PBP1 for about 3 years. I tried swapping them back & forth during the same songs & PBP1 sounds fuller, deeper. I used the xl tips to make sure it was a tight seal. The PBP2 sound tinnier, the midrange/treble sounding slightly lower quality, probably due to the new smaller driver size. I’m torn on returning them because I was really looking forward to these. But my old ones sound just fine/possibly better : /
After comparing them some more, there’s no question about it; the old ones just sound fuller/better. As much as I like the new design I’m gonna return them this weekend.
Just got my v2, updated it, tested the fit, and then did an extensive sound comparison test against Powerbeats Pro 1, AirPods Pro 1 & 2, Sony XM4, and DT990 Pro (Motu M2). The most disappointing comparison was against its own gen 1...as the OP said, the highs are tiny, harsh, and the mids are muddy/unclear overall at some point. I would rank the PBPv2 last on my list. I will promptly return it and continue to use the gen 1, despite its battery issues.
i have the og and i’m subscribing to “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.” sure it’s missing newer amenities but they work great. not sure what the price difference is but if it’s not much ig just go with the newer ones.
My AirPods Gen 1 sound better than my power Beats Pro 1st gen but the pros have buttons, battery lasts longer and they stay in my ear and are more comfortable. so I don’t care about the audio quality. music and podcasts and calls sound fine.
I have not tried anything else. I sent my pros to get a battery replaced by Apple. They ended up charging me 275$. Just gave me new ear buds and my old case back and no ear tips. They won’t do anything about it. total rip off.
I watched the YT reviews as well and after buying and experiencing them, I find myself thinking that those reviews were heavily influenced by Beats along the lines of the recent insta360 scandal. The PBP 1’s are definitely superior in terms of audio AND ergonomics (try not accidentally pausing music when adjusting fit on the PBP2’s) and I think that the seal they form around the ear is nearly as good as the bad ANC in the PBP2’s.
Not sure if Beats counts as Apple but I got some $40 Beats Buds Pro for $40 for sleeping
~$40 used on Amazon. The clear ones, cause clear haha
I have too many myself. Method 360 anc, liberty nc, galaxy 2, Rail anc, 1st generation powerbeats pro and a box of others. Apart from more wired ones
I couldn’t agree more - these sound terrible. I love the sound profile of the original Powerbeats Pro, but I would like to maybe upgrade to something newer. Does anyone have a recommendation for headphones or earbuds with a similar sound profile to the original Powerbeats Pro?
I returned my Powerbeats Pro 2’s as well. The sound quality wasn’t a major concern for me, but the fact that I could never get them to sit comfortably in my ears, even after trying all the tips, was a significant issue. I had love my Powerbeats Pro 1s, so I was really excited about these. I probably could have learned to live with the fit but not with the high price tag ($270 after tax), especially since the high price seemed to be due to a feature I didn’t even need (heart rate monitor) since I already have an Apple Watch. If they had offered two options, one with and one without the heart rate monitor, for around $50-$75 less, I might have considered it. But ultimately, I couldn’t justify spending $270 on them. I’m quite disappointed. ☹️
Bought a pair today, going back tomorrow. Impossible to get a good fit/seal with any of the ear tip sizes and sound is not good. The originals I had were much better (other than the charging issues) and my current Beats Fit Pros are much better. Oh well.
