u/Fearless-Wonder-1617, Neither the Airpods nor the QCU Earbuds have those wings as the Sport Earbuds have. The QCU Earbuds have a very small rubber ring, but it just doesn't compare with the fitmen than the Bose Sport Earbuds have. We have in our household 3 sets of Bose Sport Earbuds and also we have 3 sets of the QCU Earbuds as well (though 1 set went defective right when the those were out of warranty, so working we have since 2 sets, which work still to this date). In my experience, the Sport Earbuds have the wings that you mentioned in your post and that allows them to stay better fit in the ear, especially if you have movement, far better than the QCU Earbuds will. In my experience, the QCU Earbuds, especially the left Earbud, falls out of my ear VERY easily and there are other posts, even on this subreddit of other redditors with the same problem as well. Though i've tried a number of options, ie trying to tuck the earbud as much as possible in the ear, still falls off relatively easy, especially if there is movement. For that reason, for running, you might have the same challenges with the QCU Earbuds too. Because, I just want to avoid having to fiddle with removing each time those extra accessories, before I put the earbuds back in their charge case, I just simply have avoided getting those extra accessories and I just have to be very careful when I'm wearing the earbuds, as, at least for me, the left earbud, will far easily fall off my left ear, than the right earbud will. As for sound quality and since you already have the Bose Sport Earbuds, well, you will NOT be dissappointed. Infact, the QCU Earbuds, sound THAT much and better, as you'll have ANC available, that the Sport Earbuds lack + the QCU Earbuds when they were new, I was getting close to 9 hours of battery life... though now, afer 2+ years of use of the QCU Earbuds, they've settled to between 5-6 hours of use (with ANC turned off. If ANC is on, then the battery will range between 4ish hours). Our Bose Sport Earbuds, which are far older than the QCU Earbuds, of the 2 left working sets we have, 1 set will give normally 2 to max 3ish hours of battery life, which is very short while the second still working set, will give 4ish hours of battery life.. sadly the 3rd set died a horrible death... just in one of the use cycles, when the run our of battery power and I put them in their respective charge case, they never charged back and only glow/blink red and I still have those dead Sport Earbuds, just can't use them (they died 3+ years ago --as of the time of this post--), which is the unfortunate death cycle. I tried to see if I could plug them and re-install the firmware, unfortunately without success. So sadly, we've been left with those 2 remaining sets + now we have the 3 sets of QCU Earbuds, which are better in every category, outside of the grip in the ear : ( So from the Quality stand point, sound, battery life, with the QCU Earbuds, you WILL see a significant improvement in the battery life.

With that said, a coleague of mine, who has QC earbuds, as soon as he saw my QCUs, he immediately asked me the exact question, as he has the same problems with the left earbud falling easily of the ear. I did not test with my coleague's Earbuds, because I just don't feel comfortable putting someone else's Earbuds in my ear. > It seems that Bose and AirPods fitting in ear is extremely subjective. That has to do mainly, that heads are build not the same ; ). So where one individual may have no problems with fittment, another person will. Now, on the same individual's head, why one earbud 'falls' or slips out easier than the other, is due to the head not being identycally simetrical, ie, one half of the head, is a tiny different than the other side - that slight difference in the ear canal is enough for the earbuds, that don't have anywhere else to hold a grip, to just fall off the ear canal.

u/Equivalent_Song_8164, that is an interesting experience that you've had with the outgoing call sound experience. In my personal testing between as we also used to have the Soundsport earbuds as well (and infact, I still have 2 extra charge cases for the Soundsport, which back in the day, those Earbuds wer NOT paired to the case, so you could get as many extra charge cases, which worked perfectly not only for charging, but also for resetting the earbuds as well. The Bose Sport earbuds as well as the QCU Earbuds are paired to the case, so while exchange cases will work for charging, with those other cases, there will be an issue if there is a need to factory reset and/or pair with new devices, as those Earbuds, are paired to their cases from the factory -> thus without the original case, those Earbuds, well won't work with those replacement cases for pairing, factory reset, but as long as you don't have that need --knock on wood, that you will never need to reset them, or pair them with a new device--, then for charging, the replacement cases will work) - The Soundsport earbuds had the 'worst' outgoing call sound -> and by 'worst' meaning that the person on the other end, could hear me well, just the sound sounded 'muffled', that is in comparison to the next other 2 earbuds we've had in the household, namely. - The Bose Sport earbuds would be in the middle, that is in comparison to the - QCU, which by far, are the ones that have the best sound all around, including for outgoing calls as well.
