switching between Beyerdynamic Free Byrd Denon perl (regular not pro) Cambridge audio Melomania m100 - which I'm using most of the time lately
I got some Denon pearls and they sound great. Stay in my ear when running and keep a lot of the noise out.
I love my Denon pearls. £73 on amazon. Bargain.
Denon PerL at woot right now for 39.99
Denon Perl / Perl Pro have the option to disable touch controls in the app - just set "do nothing" for all potential actions. AVIOT has a similar function. So does Samsung for the Buds series, and Sony for the WF series. Thinking about it now I'm not sure I've owned a pair of tws with touch controls from any major brand that didn't have a fairly straightforward way of disabling them.
The Bose QC Ultra buds were my number one for the gym until I tried the Denon Perl Pro with the wing tips. They sound better and they really lock into your ear. I use the Bose now for airplane travel.
The best over 1k are the Geekfly L6, hands down best sound quality out of all the ones I've tested, Noble Rex5, Devailet Gemini ll's, PI8s, Denon Perl, Sony M5, MTW4, and supports all the hi resolution wireless codecs, if you own a late model flagship phone your already to go for best wireless audio sound. Warranty and build quality by Geekfly is top notch. There isn't any tws on the market compares to the L6s.
If you ONLY use with your phone or don’t switch the device you’re using often, I don’t think you would miss them. I do love how easy it is to swap AirPods or beats from iPhone to iPad to Apple TV if needed. I use the regular AirPods 4 daily but I also use B&O EQ and Denon PerL quite often. They do sound different but nothing crazy. It really is hard to beat AirPods Pro as a jack of all trades. I am also impressed with the Skullcandy Rail ANC for the price. The B&O EQ and the Skullcandy offer multipoint pairing which is really nice to have. Last thing I’ll say is that AirPods and beats have the nice feature where it will readout your messages to you as they come in if you just have them in and not listening to anything.
Nothing Ear 2s absolutely rock. I mainly use the following earbuds as daily drivers: Nothing Ear 2s, Denon Perl, Oneplus Buds Pro 2, Status Between 3ANC, AirPods Pro 2, Moto Buds+, LG Tone Free T90Q Also just recently picked up the Phillips Fidelio T1s and they are really good. In terms of sound quality and value: Denon Perls go on sale often, you can pick up a gently used/open box Nothing Ear 2s for under $100 (same with the LGs and OP Buds Pro 2) Status BT3ANC also regularly go on sale. The Moto Buds+ are $100 new and are a crazy value, they are tuned by Bose and have Dolby Atmos. The one big drawback is that their app is not available on iPhones. You can get the Fidelio T1s new off Amazon for like $50, their app is buggy so I don’t really use it but they sound great. For fitness I’d say the Status BT3ANC or Denons are best, because they have wingtips to help keep them in your ears
You guys aren’t kidding, these things are an insane value at $25. I also own the following earbuds: Nothing Ear 2 Denon Perl AP Pro 2 Moto Buds+ OP Buds Pro 2 1MORE Aero & Colorbuds Cleer Ally Plus II LG Tone T90Q Phillips Fidelio T1 Status Between 3ANC And if I’m being honest…. I’d put the Moondrops up against most of these earbuds. They easily outperform both of the 1More earbuds and the Cleer Ally Plus IIs, I’d rate them honestly about on par with the LG Tone T90Qs & Oneplus Buds Pro 2, with my Status Between 3ANCs, my Moto Buds+, my AirPods Pro 2 bringing up 6th-4th on my list. My top three are the Denon Perls, the Phillip Fidelio T1s, and my Nothing Ear 2s . So my final list of my earbuds rankings are: 1. Nothing Ear 2 2. Phillips Fidelio T1 3. Denon Perl 4. AirPods Pro 2 5. Moto Buds+ 6. Status Between 3ANC 6.5. OnePlus Buds Pro 2 & LG Tone T90Q 7. Moondrop Space Travel, and honestly as I listen to them more, they may move up. 8. Both 1Mores in a tie (the Aeros & Colorbuds) 9. Cleer Ally Plus II (I’ve bought these twice and have been disappointed in them both times) I realize I kinda turned this post into a “rank my earbuds” list, but seriously, the Moondrop Space Travels are the best sounding earbuds I’ve ever heard for less than $50. Are they built to challenge the audiophile quality pairs like the Fidelios and the Nothing Ears? No, but for $25 they’re amazing sounding. They’re perfect for just running around every day or going to the gym. Since they’re so cheap, they’re perfect for those situations where if you lose them or they break, you don’t have to lose sleep over replacing them. I get that this post seems like I’m doing a paid promo for Moondrop. It’s not that lol, I’ve just never been this impressed with a cheap pair of earbuds like I have been with the Moondrop Space Travels. My only complaint is, they’re kinda hard to get out of the case.
I have a pair of TWS, Technics AZ80, and i tried to upgrade to the Denon Perl.... it sounded great but something was off, dont know if its was the poor isolation or the timbre, but something was there at the back of my head saying "take them off, the sound and feel wrong" and the TWS are great, i use them when i got out to bars or around town, but they just arent at the level of the BTR17 + the Xenns pro.
Everybodies ears are different, so what is comfortable for me may not be for you and so take this with a grain of salt. Also I rarely use ANC, so Ill try not to comment on that too much. I have used a handful of Jabra models in the past, the 65t active, the 75t active and active 7, all of which I liked. I recently got a pair of Bose QC Ultra 2s, but these were so uncomfortable I could only wear them for 30mins at a time. I returned them and got the nothing ear 3s, which aren't as uncomfortable, but not a secure fit, I also find the audio quality lackluster, though the ANC does seem decent, though I rarely use it. I also have a pair of Denon Perls, which are a much better fit, and audio quality is good (though I would recommend upgrading to the pros). I also got a pair of AZ80s, which I find to be the best fit and sound quality overall.
