Google - Pixel Buds Pro 2

I've seen mixed reviews for the pro 2. Some love the wing and it helps it fit but others say it digs into their ears. I have small ears though which is why they stay in my ears better than other people experiences

This^ I just went down this rabbit hole and everyone's opinions online varied wildly from my own in person experiences. I ended up keeping Galaxy Buds 3 Pro (pixel phone). I tried Pixel Buds Pro 2, JBL Tour Pro 3, OnePlus Buds Pro 3, and Nothing Pro (2024).

simgot ew300 have a really versatile tuning that will do any genre well. you also get 2 tuning nozzles for some extra flexibility. if you want great soundquality then the buds 2 pro or air pod pro 2 are the best you can do if if you want to go that route, you could probably get the pro 2 for 150 or less, and ew300 are 70$ msrp but will be on sale on nov 11

I used to love my pixel buds, bud they randomly decided to do this thing where they connect to things while in the case, so they constantly discharge themselves and are therefore unusable. Still sad about it tbh

Buds Pro 2 have battery and quality issues. Many people have noted issues. Check cmf subreddit snd fourms

I dropped one bud in a 1.8m deep very cloudy swimming pool the day before I had to go on a 9 day trip. When I got back the pool was clear & I managed to retrieve the bud. I dried it, recharged it and it works fine. Very impressed

YES! They definitely sound worse with ANC or Transparency mode on. Actually I prefer not to use ANC when I listen to music because of that. It's like they have a totally different EQ and the fact that the OP doesn't hear the difference makes me question his audio experience. Also I noticed a considerable lag with these buds. Edit: the lag is not there anymore after I paired the buds again.

I love them... I just wish they had physical buttons over the touch ones. As a runner, it is basically worthless to even try to get any response from it with the most minimal of sweat. This is an ongoing issue with touch earbuds, but it is definitely much worst with Google's products. I'll keep them as it is my only gripe. I agree with everything else you said!

I use Pixel Buds Pro 2 for Mac and my Pixel. They connect to both devices and at any time I play anything on them they work well. I recommend them. I also have a Sony headphones, I can recall the model, but pairing is not easy

If you are prioritising comfort, I just try out the Google pixel buds 2 pro. They have decent enough sound and great comfort 

I had to move to small tips and seems better. Huge improvement over original, those were so uncomfortable. I used it yesterday with phone and pixel tablet and switching worked decently but handoff not the best. Can manually tap notification. To me airpods pro still more comfortable. Idk left ear usually feels off for me. It's better than galaxy buds 2 pro

I just got mine a few days ago, coming straight from the PBPs and the ANC of the PBP2s mid-higher frequency sounds is terrible. I'm hoping this can be fixed soon with a software update but in my opinion is way worse than the original PBP. I have tried all the ear tips and too so I don't think it's a fit issue. In all other ways it is performing better than the PBPs but god I wish the ANC was just the same if not better than the originals. I usually wear them when trying to drown other people out in the office and conversations just flow right through.

This is what I use. And also having transparent mode let's me hear what's going on in the real world when I need to.

They're pretty comfortable on flights, though I do alternate between them and my QC35s. The longest flight I've used them for was roughly 5 hours. The noise cancellation is a smidge worse compared to my Airpods Pro 2, but not enough for me to stop using them.

The new Pixel Buds Pro 2 have worked really well for me. They are very secure, stay put and retain the seal even when running and sweating hard. Bonus points for a really good "transparency mode" that lets you hear everything around you as if you didn't have earbuds in at all. Wearing sunglasses with them doesn't seem to have any negative impact on them either.

Love the descriptive review. I HAVE to ask. How long you been using the PBP2s? I have one as well and I just love the form factor and use transparency more than I thought I would. The only thing I am experiencing is the battery drain on the case. Does your drains quickly as well? Also, are you seeing the other RMA'd issues that other redditors are reporting?

My gen 1 pixel buds lasted me about 3 years, and were still going strong right up until I fell asleep with one in and my dog got a hold of it and chewed it to bits! My wife surprised me with the pixel buds pro 2 for my birthday and they do seem really good so far. Hard to get a read on battery life as I tend to only use them a few hours at a time but certainly no complaints so far.

Gonna go against the grain and not recommend the XM5s. I purchased the Google Pixel Buds pro a few years ago and while they still worked great, I was ready to upgrade and after a bunch of research and many recommendations, I went with the XM5s. Honestly, the sound quality is great and I was immediately impressed. However, after spending about a month with them, I'm not a fan and cannot recommend them for several reasons. Before I list the reasons, if you will only wear these while sitting down and don't plan to use them on the go or while exercising, you'd probably really enjoy them. Their flaws really became apparent when I wore them out and about. 1. At first I used the supplied ear tips and whenever I exercised or even went for a walk, I could hear my "footsteps". Hard to describe the sound but it was a noticeable thump whenever I took a step. I tried 3 different sets of ear tips which included foam, hybrid (foam and rubber) and then rubber (I can't remember the exact material but it feels like rubber) and had variable improvements. I ended up sticking with a set of rubber tips but had to also buy a grill to cover the ear bud drivers since it's exposed on the XM5s and the ear tips didn't provide protection. ~~(weird reddit formatting) 2. Even with different ear tips, I kept experiencing weird disconnects. I couldn't figure out what caused it but I'd be walking around and the audio would occasionally cut out for just a second. Sometimes only in one ear bud. While it was brief, it was common enough that it was annoying. I researched the issue and tried all recommendations such as updating the firmware, disabling some settings in the Sony Sound app and while it improved, I'd still get random cuts. 3. I could never find a comfortable fit. After trying different tips and sizes, I could never get these to fit comfortably in my ears so didn't feel comfortable running with them. 4. (More subjective) The touch controls are okay but I prefer the ones of the Pixel buds most notably the swipe up/down for volume control. With the XM5s you need to tap more than 3 times which I hate because sometimes it will register as a double/triple tap and skip the track. While I still have the XM5s and might use them while I'm just at home, I ended up going with the Pixel Buds pro 2 and so far I love them but it's only been a few days. The fit, sound and ANC is great. I wouldn't say they sound as good as the XM5s but I can reliably use them during my day which is the most important aspect.

Don't know if they are the best but I love my pixel buds pro2. All I listen to is Audio. The noise cancellation works great but I love the fit most of all. You twist them and they sorta lock in.

Got mine yesterday and so far they are awesome. They really fixed the only complaint I had about my Pixel Buds Pro. The size and fit is so much better now. They are far more secure.

The PBP2s are much louder on the same volume setting on the phone.

Soundguys tested it with the XM5s in simulated wind and the PBP2 sounded better. I don't care either way, I don't talk on the phone with earbuds in like the annoying shits in public.

I have upgraded to the Buds Pro 2, but loved the OG Buds Pro. I use the Bose NC700 at my desk and love that too

I just got the Pro Buds 2 and they're the only ear buds that don't consistently fall out of my little ears, so that's a pleasant surprise. I have been using the extra small tips. But I can't detect any noise cancelling at all. Does that mean they're not fitting properly? Any advice?

I went from the pixel buds 2 (from 2020) to the pixel buds pro 2 and am so happy with that decision. They feel so much more comfortable and sound so much better. I'm sure there are better sounding buds out there, but I love having Google assistant on them.

Just got mine, and my biggest compliment I can offer on these, is the transparency mode. Like you said, it sounds WAY more natural than the last generation. ANC seems solid. Sound quality seems marginally better. I only paid $30 for these since I got $200 play store credit with my P9P preorder. For this upgrade at $30, yeah, well worth it!!!

I'm very happy with the Pixel Buds Pro 2.

I have the Pixel Buds Pro 2, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 3, and the Jabra Elite 10. Of the 3, I think the Jabra Elite's check all the boxes most (call quality, comfort, ANC, multipoint).

I now use pixel bud pro 2 and love them. However I originally balked at the price. Then I added up how much I'd spent on a drawerful of cheap ones I _didn't_ like. I got the pixel buds from for a reasonable price, and they're currently listed at Amazon for $208.14. caution: Google has 2 other cheaper inferior pixel buds not recommended. As a backup pair I use some Status Between 3ANCs, which sound great, but have crappy touch controls. They're also on the large side, and look sorta dorky. But the audio and ANC are really good. Cheaper than pixel buds pro2 by roughly $50. I tried several Sony buds and meh. Although Sony over the ear headphones are great. About $350, but worth it, especially for flying. YMMV

Same. I use it between my pixel and Mac and it works great. Haven't had any issues with pairing or anything.

Got mine today too. Coming from my airpods pro these are night and day better(though my airpods might have some issues, they're on their last leg) The only issue I've had is getting use to putting them in my ear. They're so small, it's hard to put them in and get a perfect seal. Probably someone I'll get use to with practice. I love the design, case, and materials though. The case is the most fidget worthy thing I've ever touched.

Tbh I use them at the gym only and ANC alone is worth it. I'm not some audiophile but I do feel like sound is a little bit better ob pros.

I used them while on a walk last night in fairly windy weather. Just with ANC on, no music playing, they significantly reduced the sound of wind hitting my ears, which PBP1 was pretty awful at. With PBP1 I used to just leave ANC off when outdoors because the passive isolation was quieter. PBP2 have no hissing when countering higher frequencies, drastically reduced ambient noise, and overall a big step up in the ANC department.

I had a pair of Jabra Elite 7s. They slowly degraded over time, battery, sound. For a pair of Pixel Buds Pro 2 and love them. Comfortable and sound great.

Doesn't really help you, but I just use my Pixel Buds Pro 2. They're fantastic. I have a Pixel 9 Pro Fold, though, so it just makes sense to use one pair for everything, and I'm already in the ecosystem. Honestly, I would just look for a solution to use your Airpods Pros reliably. You're not really going to find better buds, in general, especially if you're in the Apple ecosystem, and having to carry two different sets is just silly.

Just got mine last night after my Sony WF-1000XM4s died. I haven't spent a ton of time with them, but the ANC seems to have a slight impact to the EQ, boosting some treble. I think I prefer the sound of ANC on though. Overall, I am impressed with the stock EQ tuning. The ANC itself is much different from my Sonys. The Pixels don't mute everything, just continuous droning sounds like AC and lawn mowers. It didn't really do much for the loud drill my contractors are using. The Sonys seemed to mute everything fairly well. Curious how these Pixels will perform at my gym where my Sonys would muffle the music.

I've had a really good experience with the pixel buds pro 2s. Great battery life, small form factor, wingtip design so they don't fall out of my ears, wireless charging and a super small case that I can easily carry in my pocket. Sound quality and noise canceling are both a notch below the xm5s or Bose, but they're usually around $150 or so, or cheaper on sale.

I just picked my Bud Pro 2s today. For me it was a large upgrade, coming from some ~$80 JBLs and some old Pixel A Buds. I had never experienced the ANC before, so when I turned it on while at my busy work environment, it actually stunned me how it just tuned everything out. All of the sudden all of my co-workers talking and the fridge buzzing just vanished. I could still pick up voices too. Transparency mode is nice too. I tried the conversation mode a bit, but it did kinda feel jarring after awhile. Going from passthrough to ANC constantly kinda made my ears feel plugged, like the feeling you get on an airplane. Also the build quality is super nice. The small form factor feels very well built.The small mic grills just add to the look a bit and really looks clean. I have the Porcelain color and so far these headphones have been a massive upgrade. I also tend to have to wear headphones 8 hours a day. Usually have just one in and occasionally swap sides throughout the day. It was very comfortable on my ears and the battery life held up super well. So far I think it was definitely worth the price I paid, and was a big jump from my previous headphones. My only complaint is that the mic is really just okayish. But for buds that size, they're pretty good. Still kinda expected better.

I'm addition to OP's review (which I wholeheartedly agree with), I would like to add that "find my device," works on the case, which beeps as well, even when closed! This is a miracle for us forgetful types. I'm a huge fan of these buds.

Cant say for deck but i tried buds 2 pro with pc and mobile gaming before. didn't notice any latency (also didnt play any multiplayer fps). Story games and moba's works well enough!

Same. I have the pixel buds 2 pro, and I got them specifically for the size. Jabras were all too big for my ears.

The PBP2 works great on a Pixel phone but still very buggy if connected to other devices. I have it connected to my laptop and the sound would go in/out occasionally as I'm watching videos. I've owned Airpods Pro 2 prior to these and the ANC on those is superior. I don't know if it's the ANC itself or if the earbuds were simply a better fit in my ear. Music quality is good and they're comfortable to wear long hours. I would rate these as a 8/10 overall. These are great if you're a Pixel phone user. Otherwise, it's better to look elsewhere.

I have a Freecom 2x. For the purposes of music it is very poor, and even then it requires some proper-fitting earplugs that selectively filter engine and wind noise but make the JBL speakers sound better. Skip all that nonsense and get a good pair of wireless earbuds that are secure in your ear, sit flush, and provide a good seal that block the harmful wind/motor noise. Personally I use Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. I ONLY use my Freecom for when I need to speak or provide siri inputs.

Google sound bad

I had the same issues with the pro 1 buds falling/working their way out over time. I had better luck with the comply memory foam tips but the buds would still require constant readjusting to stay in properly. Been using the pro 2 buds for a day now and the fit is much improved over the 1st generation. No issues with them feeling insecure or needing readjusting so far after wearing them for 2 hours or so.

Damn your pair survived a year. I'm currently on my third and just waiting for them to go at some point lol. Agree with the case!

I wouldn't suggest pixel buds 2 pro while they sound great and look good so on and so forth , they have issues with software and hardware , i trashed mine after one of them tried to deafen me , they also would randomly disconnect , mic quality got worse very rapidly and so did ambient sound , they were great while they worked

Everyone's saying Shokz even though you said in-ear buds. Lol. I use Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, and I'm happy with them. The sound quality is great. The ANC is great for when I'm on a treadmill, but I also like that the passthrough audio is really good for when I'm running outside. I've also had zero issues with sweat or battery. That said, they don't feel quite as secure as I'd like them to. I've never actually had one fall out, so I guess I can't complain too much (maybe they're just comfortable). However, I've looked into getting Comply foam tips or something like that to make them feel more secure. TBD on that. The only other thing I don't like as it relates to running is the touch controls. These can be hit or miss, especially if it's cold out and you have gloves on. I'd prefer some kind of physical button. This problem was somewhat mitigated when I switched to a Garmin running watch that lets me easily control the music from the watch. Should you decide to switch to Shokz like everyone is recommending, keep in mind that they don't work for everyone. I had to return mine because they gave me a carsick/hangover feeling if I wore them for any length of time. They're clearly great for a lot of other people, though. I wish they worked for me. Lol.

I got mine yesterday and so far just from the fit in my ear alone I already like them better than my Pixel Buds Pro 2. The sound quality is also better. The only thing they lack is all the AI bells and whistles of the Pixel Buds like the auto mute when talking detection or being able to swipe up and down on the ear bud itself to increase or lower volume. Overall though I really like this just because they fit so much better and the sound is better. The app could use some work though. I do agree with the others that the voice audio prompts are jarringly loud.

I got them when buying the phone I couldn't afford 290 for buds. In your case I guess I would search for second hand or refurbished.

They feel the same ANC wise. Keep in mind xm5s come with hybrid foam tips. While PB2s come with silicone tips. Possibly with some proper foam tips, PB2s will take the lead. Sound quality wise, XM5s simply because of the LDAC codec.

I was gifted a set of Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra. I chose the gift since I'm now on my 3rd pair of PBP2 under warranty (probably have at least another) since they have the fatal mic failure flaw that will always appear a few months in. I'm glad to have a backup but I figured you all may wonder what are some pros/cons between the two and where PBP2 wins. Bose has given me issues in the past (all have been gifts) so I refuse to give them money. But we will see how these go after PBP2 inevitably die and I'm out of warranty. There should be a Class Action on this BS. Here are some "lowlights" and "highlights". **Orchestral "rush" - Bose** Whenever you put your buds in (yes every time), it plays a moderately loud orchestral sound that supposedly calibrates the buds. It's about 1 second but at a pretty high volume, higher then I usually listen to music at (a bit higher then Google's ear tip seal check melody). This cannot be turned off and literally NOBODY ever talks about this. You have to dig. I can put up with it but if you put them in let's say at night when you are wanting to relax/drift off, this will have the opposite effect. People with sensory issues or sensitive hearing, this will be an absolute deal breaker. **Build Quality - Case/Buds** With Bose, the buds have a nice feel and they are well made. The case however, loses to pixel buds. It's larger (buds are larger too so makes sense) but the lid is thin plastic. It doesn't creak like the PBP2, but it just feels cheap. I like how the PBP2 is thick and feels like a solid piece. **Sound Quality - The "Bose" Sound** I would describe the PBP2 as excellent sound. Very high quality and I'd say sits pretty well at the top tier. The sound quality of Bose is better. Not by a lot but it's still the Bose sound. Better bass, nicer separation. I'd describe the PBP2 as "rich, lively, & warm". I'd describe the QuietComfort as "fun, rich, clean, warm, lively, accurate". Do you remember when you would want to revisit your music on a hi-fi or good sound system? Example my cousin had pickup truck with a "system". Subwoofer etc. We wanted to play our tapes in it and be wowed. That's what Bose is. It can "wow" you. I love how songs sound on them and still the case with QC Ultra. **Connection/Features** Google wins hands down. I like the subtle tones Google uses for connections, mode switching etc. Bose still uses the same old voice prompts for everything. PBP2 has better features. Wireless charging, conversation detection etc. Bose still is behind. Also connections sometimes drop with Bose. They just still don't have this stuff down. Their app is also archaic. I LOVE how simple the PBP2's are and work. Touch controls are not as refined on the Bose. They always seem to struggle with this for some reason. Google has it down perfect. **ANC/Transparency** Bose wins on ANC (but not by a whole lot). It's stronger/better at blocking but I feel a lot of that is due to the size. It's very comfortable but takes up more ear space as it's a bit bigger. PBP2 don't fill the whole ear space so I think that makes transparency better but ANC is a little down. However, I prefer Google's balance because I use transparency more then ANC. **Call Quality** Don't use Bose for phone calls. If you think PBP2 is bad... Ask me questions if you are thinking about getting the Ultras. Kind of cool to have them as a backup. I will be using the PBP2 the most (that is until they fail again) and find myself reaching for them more.

I've had since launch but on my 3rd pair. Both times pressure relief failed but the first pair also had issue with sound quality in ANC off mode. The battery does seem to drain in the case faster then I think it should. I have to charge maybe every 3 days and that's the only using the buds maybe 1-1.5 hours a day. Most seem to have mic failures for RMA's. But also other issues.

I agree that I think you made a good decision to keep them. I have a relatively wide range of music taste. I will say, electronic/EDM does sound better on Bose as they just know how to make bass in headphones sound like a full subwoofer. The range from low to high is better so it just sound richer. With your use case and mine, you also made a good decision to not go to the Ultras, I'd say. I REALLY hope I'm on my last exchange but I just don't have a lot of hope. I really feel all of these have this issue eventually and a lot of people just aren't sensitive to it. Unless your ears produce no oil, no wax, no sweat, I can't see it never happening. The first pair lasted 3 months. For the second I kept the buds and my own ears as clean as I could. This made them last 7 months before the issue. For this pair I'm just going to use them as the first but keep them clean but not overboard like last time. It's not worth it to me if they will fail anyway...

I tried and returned the Bose Ultra earbuds. I figured out why the ANC is "better". It's purely because of the fit. It fills and seals your ear. It's also why it's transparency is worse which is actually more important to me.. I love my Pixel Buds Pro 2 but I'm on my 3rd pair under warranty and probably have to buy something else after warranty. They have a fatal flaw in design and the inner mic always fails with use/ time.

I'm on my third pair under warranty. Everything is great except for the fatal flaw. Active relief mic always fails.. it will always fail. I just believe some don't notice or are not sensitive to it

I have Pixel buds pro 2 and they have a bit of white noise in transparency but very little in ANC on and none when you turn off both modes (like non ANC buds). The white noise in transparency is quite high. It's a consequence of using microphones but Bose is not good with mic quality so I suspect it's because of the low quality mics. It was so high it was bothersome to me. I returned them. You can also hear it when ANC is on. With the QC buds, it's either transparency or ANC on there is no off mode. There is no setting to turn off the idle off time. I didn't have that do it, but some wanted to use for sleep and claimed it was an hour or 2 and they turned off.

I returned mine. Did not like them at all. In the gym during exercise and movement songs would crackle and distort. ANC isn't anything special, imo. EQ settings are very bland and basic. I would lose sound in the left earbud on more than one occasion. I wanted to stay loyal to the brand because I have a Pixel phone but I just couldn't.

I just returned my Pixel Buds Pro 2s. I didn't think much of em, tbh. Also, I would lose sound in the left earbud at random. The fit is decent. The EQ is boring. Imo, not worth the price tag. They sound good, wish they could be louder. I have a Google phone so I thought these would be great, but I was not very impressed. Oh, I go to the gym a lot and these are a horrible choice. They become distorted and I hear crackling sounds during exercising and movements. Nothing crazy, no jumping or HIIT exercises. I did not test call quality, I did not even get to that point. I use pixel buds 2 pro or Galaxy buds 3 pro. For zoom/teams I use an old Corsair gaming headset I had kicking around, just personal preference.

I've been using my PBP2 for a month or so now. I find the fit to be much better for me and my ears than the prior versions. Now that our weather has gotten a bit colder this fall, I am pleased to discover that they now respond to touch (tap) controls when I am wearing gloves. This is a nice improvement

I bought the Pixel Buds Pro 2 specifically for the great transparent mode that doesn't feel artificial. You should try them 1 week before asserting if they work. They have some kinks (I hope updates will fix them), but mine at least work good for now. You should pay closer to $100 rather than $200 for them in order for them to be a good value purchase. No matter what you choose be sure that you can test them, it's not an universal aspect.

Ok, so I just went back to them to try to troubleshoot/reset and without having to do anything, they are working perfectly now. Really weird. The only thing I can think of was perhaps the buds were removed from the case before the case portion of the update was complete, but I don't see why the update of the case would affect bud functionality. Regardless, anyway, the problem is gone now. 🙏

Mine arrived yesterday and I'm very happy so far. They're much more comfortable than the PBP1s in my ears. I never had much issue with the first gen falling out; they just needed to be slightly adjusted sometimes while running to keep a good seal. I think this is because they rested pretty closely to the top part of my ear which held them in place but would get uncomfortable if I was wearing glasses. I don't have that issue with the PBP2s since they don't sit as high up in the ear. They stayed put for a 6 mile run yesterday. ANC seems a lot better. The PBP2s blocked out a lot more treadmill noise than the first gen. I didn't test the transparency mode a lot but it sounds more natural and less (for lack of a better term) processed. Sound quality is a little better to my ears. The case is slightly heavier. I assume it's because the buds take up less space leaving more room for battery. Speaking of battery, I'm impressed by how much extra battery life the buds get even after a size reduction.

I use those wireless, bluetooth kind that just hang over your ears, like earloops. I used to use Buds 2 Pro, but my ears kept getting irritated. I'm very happy with the sound quality.

My new xm5's burned thru battery in 6 hours with ANC on. Without, prolly get 7 or 8. The pixel buds pro 2 last 9-10 hours with ANC on and longer with it off. Soundcore A40s last about as long as the pixels and both sound good, but ofc sony sounds better. Same with air pods pro 2, about 6 hours.

So I thought the sound quality was mid when I first put them on, then I went up an earbud size and tuned the settings a bit for a little higher bass and a little softer high treble and BOOM, sound quality was astounding. It made a massive difference. If you haven't already, try a bigger size of earbuds, I think that was really the game changer.

i got the pixel buds pro 2 about 10 months ago and haven't gotten any complaints, even when i'm standing on a busy road under a bridge with trains crossing where i'd have problems understanding the person right beside me. of course there are minor issues when there's heavy wind blowing, but that'd be a problem with lots of buds...

I was in the same position. But I went to a 9 Pro XL. I didn't think I could make the switch by being tied to the Apple ecosystem. Not sure if I could go without my AWU and Airpod pros, also had Apple TV and home pods. I got the Google Buds Pro 2. As for everything, there are pros and cons. I have adapted to these and honestly can say I am more happy with them then the AirPod pros I had. I didn't like the look of the Pixel Watch 3 and I tried it on in store. So, I did some research. I ended up with a Garmin Fenix 8 51mm AMOLED watch. Yes, it is $1200 but has more capabilities than my AWU. You still receive phone calls, texts, emails, smart notifications, etc. You can reply on the watch as well. Two main reasons I went with Garmin, battery life and able to download 1000 different faces that are all customizable. Depending on my routine and workouts, I don't have to charge my watch once a week. Sometimes almost every other week. I also picked up the 4k Google TV streamer, it's the same at Apple TV. Does everything I need it to do but one positive is able to download 3rd party streaming apps that Apple didn't approve of. As far as hompods, I went with the Bose Smart Ultra soundbar paired with the 700 bass module. Definitely kicks the homepods out the door but I went more extreme on this due to remodeling my living room and upgraded TV.

My audio is super low when I talk on the phone...music seems fine. Yes, I have the audio volume turned all the way up, and I've spoken with multiple people. Im not liking them for my phone calls...idk what it is. Everything I love. They stay in my ear and are comfy. And I've struggled in the past to keep buds in my ear Edit: wow I'm an idiot...scratch that top comment. Even though I maxed the volume on my Pixel screen, I never swiped the volume up on the actual buds...holy shit I feel stupid. They sound great now for phone calls smh..

Pixel Buds Pro 2 are not bad, just very over priced for what they are in my opinion. I have Samsung Buds2 Pro which I much prefer the fit and anc of, and you can easily find those well under 100 these days. CMF makes some buds around $50 that are pretty great value if you go that direction.

I have the pro 2s and find the quality great except the house cancelling is definitely sub par compared to the airpod pros 2. Right bud falls out of my ear on long sweaty runs but that might be fixed with better ear tips. Overall comfortable buds and they work fluidly with my pixel device. Battery is great for me and the case makes it handy to charge 8/10

i upgraded from buds pro 1, i can confirm your findings, it is significantly better than the pro 1 except for the case, probably the pro 1 is slightly shorter. definitely not smaller than pro 1 and the new one also support ultra wide band for a better tracking. i might upgrade/sell my galaxy watch 7 to pixel watch 3 for UWB support when the price is right. currently the price in my country is more expensive than apple watch 10 which is ridiculous

I'll say that the Buds Pro 2 are so light and small that they remain very secure in my ears, which is a big upgrade from the original Pros, which were always falling out

I have both the buds 2 pro & the nothing ear 2024 & out of the two, the buds 2 pro win in every category. sound, fit, noise cancelling. the battery life is slightly better on the nothing ear 2024 but not that much of a difference considering the buds 2 pro have been used for more than a year & still have an excellent battery life as compared to the nothing ear 2024 which I bought around last Diwali (only out of curiosity coz of the hype & rave reviews on the internet). also, the buds 2 pro are now available at an excellent price point, which makes them even better bang for buck. the overall stability, reliability, precise touch controls, in-ear detection, UI experience, everything is great for buds 2 pro & much better than the ne2024. hope this helps. cheers.

Buds Pro 2 currently, but I still have and use Buds 2 and A, depending on what I'm doing and where I'm at. My kids have the Buds Pro and the Sony as well. We all agree that musically speaking you can really dial the Sony's in, to where they're the best sounding for most music, but overall we say the Buds Pro 2 are the best. Size, battery life and fit for sure.

I owned a xm5 unit. If you care about anc don't buy it. Anc it's trash. Apart from that it's quite good. One of the best. Not I have Google Pixel Buds Pro 2. Also one of the best. Very small, good anc. This is my thoughts on both items

I previously had wired in-ear headphones Jays a-Jays. Overall, it's a greater quality-of-life upgrade than I expected compared to my wired headphones. They are almost perfect. Good: - They don't have any significant drawbacks. - They're small and look better than almost anything on the market, only AirPods Pro are comparable. - Battery life is good. - Feel comfortable in the ear. - Sound is fine. - The case feels really good in hand, much more pleasant shape than the more rectangular one AirPods have. I often just hold and "play" with it when I walk. Bad: - Active noise cancelling of speech and higher frequency sound in general is mediocre. - It would be nice if I could somehow easily distinguish between the right and left earphone, visually or with touch. This is easy with the AirPods for example. - Passthrough mode doesn't work that well for me, it seems like it amplifies noise and speech. I set up the gesture to switch between noise cancelling and doing nothing, aka slight noise suppression. - Probably the biggest flaw, not sure if this is the fault of the Pixel Buds 2. When watching videos on my MacBook, the sound has a small delay.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 were $105 after tax on Mother's Day if you combined the $40 Mother Day's discount with your $100 Google Store credit from getting a Pixel 9a. So far it's a really seamless experience using the PBP2 with my 9a. Alternative is gonna be a BT receiver such as a Fiio BTR 11 for $20 and then any $20 IEM if you want something bang for buck with decent audiophile quality. $20 Moon Drop Chu 2 for more balanced sound signature or $20 Castor Pro Bass for more V-Shape sound signature are my 2 recommendations for $20 budget IEMs. The only good things about the PBP2 after daily driving it for a week since I've gotten it is the convenience, the size, the weight, and the dual device connectivity swapping. Sound quality wise it pales in comparison to my Truthear Zero Blue 2 or Simgot EW300xHBB IEMs. ANC on the PBP2 are ok and adequate but nothing to write home about. Battery usage is on par with the Fiio BTR 11. At the end of the day you're just paying more for convenience more than anything else with wireless earbuds, for sound quality wired IEMs(you can turn them wireless and IEM drivers would still come out on top) are 100% the way to go still.

Currently using (and loving) Pixel Buds Pro 2. Been through all the Pixel buds and these are the best (no surprise). Around the house I'm usually using in Transparent mode (wife likes me to be able to hear her for some reason). I also have a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort 2 buds that work a little better for me on buses and airplanes. Shape of the ear, I guess, that these give me a better seal. But I prefer the lighter touch (and couple extra features with my P9PF) with the Pixel Buds.

My Pixel Buds Pro 2 comes are really small and come with XS ear tips. Honestly, I think they are ideal for small ears.

Get different earbuds? Wear a buff/balaclava over your head/ears to keep yours in place? I have 2nd gen Pixel Buds Pros, and they extend our of my earholes less than my ear flap sticks off the side of my head. Helmets actually secure them in place for me lol.

I haven't run them down yet, but reviews say 8 hours with ANC on, and I think around 10-11 hours with it off, with an extra 30 hours in the case with ANC, and something like 40 hours without ANC use.

These will replace both of those handily.

For me they are more comfortable than stemmed earbuds. You can even lie down on your side with these. ANC honestly seems better. Comfort- super. You can barely feel them in your ears, but they are very secure.

I bought the Pixel Buds Pro2. I strongly advise you to wait for a discount. They are good but not worth the price. The noise reduction is impressive but it's the overall sound quality that isn't crazy for the price. Afterwards, I am someone who is demanding on this point. But for 200€ I was very surprised by the poor quality. To resolve this you will have to spend at least an hour in the equalizer settings. The bass is superb yes, but the midrange is poorly adjusted. I heard the Google Pixel Buds Pro2 were very good with NC and especially for noisy environments where you use them for Teams or Zoom meetings. I had Jabra Elite 8 Active and also the Elite 10. Sound quality were about the same , in fact I actually thought the Elite 8 had better bass. I got the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 on sale as an open box version. They are very good. Noise cancelling is for busy rooms is much better. Sound quality for music is on par, though the controls are better in my opinion. Find a pair at BestBuy for their open box or refurbished version and you won't regret it. It's too bad Jabra is getting out of the earbuds business, but they didn't improve their NC for busy rooms and that was their biggest issue in my opinion.

Yea, I love my buds 2 pro, but the 4nc has better ANC and stays in my right ear without adjusting every minute at the gym. Sound quality better on the buds 2 obivously, but 4nc not too far behind enough to bother me.

Pro 2 are very good. Noise cancellation is insane. I used them using the drill during my house restoration... Price is high but you get very high quality.

Man, I am having the total opposite experience with transparency mode. There's a solid white noise for me when I'm in it. It's way more disruptive to me than my original buds were. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I can adjust or something??

Just tried, unfortunately still a noticeable white noise when in transparency mode. It's good to know others aren't having this issue though, maybe I need to have them replaced.

I'm using the buds pro 2, coming from buds pro og. Id go with something in the ecosystem, since it'll work best together. I'm not an audiophile, but both sound great, and noise cancelling/transparency is great in the pro 2.

I have both.  The pros are super comfortable. Noise cancelling is pretty good. Sounds is decent. 8/10. Series A are a bit less comfortable but stay a little better when working out, don't have noise cancelling. Sound is good. 6/10. I upgraded to the pro 2s for the better sound and noise cancelling. I would say the sound was not as big of an upgrade that I was expecting. bit more clarity with vocals, but imo not a substantial upgrade.

I have tried them all. The Pixel Pro 2 are great but their mics are PATHETIC. They are HORRIBLE. If you occlusion doesn't bother you then the Liberty 4 Pro are by far the best of those, and they have amazing mics as well. They are also $99 on Amazon right now. You can't go wrong with the Liberty 4 Pro at that price. I have thought about giving them another go, even with the occlusion. I am about to try the Huawei Freeclip as I have realized I don't really use ANC very much, so the total hearthrough may be worth it.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 if you want active noise cancellation. Pixel Buds A if you want something cheaper that doesn't have active noise cancellation. Both are great choices.

I have Pixel Buds Pro and the 2, ANC is above average and average at times. WH-M5 can't be compared to earbuds - however, WF-1000XM5 cancels out more than anything Google combined. WF-M6 is slated for release later this year.

Which device do you think you use more? Your pixel or mac? I have the same combo. I don't use my pixel buds when I'm on my MacBook as much as I use them on my Pixel which makes it virtually a non issue for me. I'm pretty happy with my pixel buds 2 pro.

Probably as well as you would expect it to work. No deticated app or settings but works pretty well in default settings mode. Plug N Play essentially. Same goes with my pixel though. I just adjust noise canceling mode and leave it be. I'm not an audiophile by any means. Ive had them for over 2 years now and they're still holding up fine.

No, I can. Can't adjust the equalizer and such. I'm not great at remembering what gestures do what on my buds except the volume, pause/play and assistant.

It's crazy because they're smaller, but the battery lasts longer somehow and they charge a lot faster when they're in the pod.

Pixel Buds Pro 2. They have been great for me. Only complaint I have is that none of the ear tips feel like they're very secure in my ears, so I have to adjust them every so often.

I have the Bose QC Ultra and Pixel Buds Pro 2. My wife has the air pods pro. Bose are definitely the best. Air pods are by far the worst. The pixel buds are probably the most comfortable though.

It's a welcome upgrade when you have to upgrade. I was running first gen airpods pro and the buds pro 2 are awesome. My favorite feature is that you can toggle between anc, transparency, AND no anc or transparency. I have uses for all 3 modes and air pods pro doesn't satisfy that. Google assistant is another plus that while I don't use as often, is nice

I have very average sized ears and mine fit great and only give me the slightest discomfort when I have the little wing tip twisted in real good for 6+ hours. I use the tips that come pre installed which is the second smallest size

I've had them for a while now too. They kept falling out of my right ear during running. Horrible experience. Got myself some foam tips recently ans they started to perform really well for me. I do hear some light crackling sound during running as well sometimes, but it tends to dissapear after a little while

I like the ANC, BUT to be upfront the only thing I have to compare it to is my hearing aids. I have hearing aids for my tinnitus, and I enjoy the fit/feel/ANC/sound, pretty much everything about them vs my ReSound hearing aids.

I love my Pixel Buds Pro 2 - I use them everyday, and they're a sanity-saver in noisy environments. They're not cheap, but they're very effective, and they work seamlessly with my Android phone. That said, I haven't tried many other noise-cancelling earbuds or headphones, so I can't really compare them to other options.

When I had these that didn't work too well. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 in my opinion are kinda the upgrade. Excellent fit, sound, better life, NC and transparency work great.  Other candidates might include the Jabra Elite 8 or 10. More expensive, but those are all good upgrades.  I've never cared for stem style earbuds, but the OnePlus Buds 3 just look so dang nice.

They are fine in a quiet room (maybe a slight echo) but the mic sounds like trash if there is any background noise. I am seriously thinking about swapping them for the galaxy buds3 pro which has apparently amazing mic.

I honestly don't have much to complain about so far. I'm worried about the vent issue that so many people seem to experience...I don't really use them for calls (at least currently) but I hope they don't get quieter over time. The only real "complaint" I have is that I wish they had slightly more bass and maybe just slightly more volume. I love electronic music that has lots of heavy bass (and some rap)...but I knew that pbp2 aren't really made for bassheads. I have a pair of Skullcandy crusher headphones with built in subwoofers that really make you feel the bass...so I figure I can just use those if I really want to jam out. The volume honestly is fine...it's just that I basically have to keep them at 100%...I always prefer to have the choice to go louder even if I don't use it...like an extra 2 notches of volume would have been perfect to me but I can live without that. I never experienced ANC before this, so I'm quite happy with the pbp2 ANC. I had heard that bose quiet comfort has nearly perfect ANC which sounds awesome, but it seems like you don't think it's that big of a difference. I mainly bought the pbp2 because I've never had a good pair of earbuds before and wanted the convenience of being able to bring headphones everywhere I go. Probably the most important thing to me is that they don't fall out of your ears. I've had a few cheaper pairs of earbuds and they'd never stay in place. I love that the pbp2 are so small and lightweight and the fins keep them perfectly in place. I also have a pixel phone and recently got the watch as well so I love having everything in the same ecosystem. I had considered returning the pbp2 and was looking at the quiet comfort ultras, but I don't think the slightly better bass and ANC is worth trading the perfect in-ear fit and all the other nice little features. I'm happy with pbp2 so far - just hope I don't have a bunch of issues down the road...

Thanks for the review! Interesting that you haven't seemed to experience the vent issue that many complain about. I've only had mine for like 3 weeks, and that's the only thing I worry about really - though it seems not everyone has the issue (or notices it?). But otherwise I'd agree with everything you said. Wish the ANC blocked out higher frequencies (like babies crying lol) better but I suppose I can't expect perfect noise cancelling. I also wish there was just a tad more bass and they had the ability to go a notch or 2 higher on volume, but again, this isn't a major concern and I'm overall happy with the sound profile. The main thing I love is how they fit so well. Integration with the pixel eco system is pretty nice too. Not sure about your issue with the delay, but that may be something that most bluetooth headphones/earbuds have in common. I've noticed a similar issue when trying to use bluetooth headphones while playing Xbox... just a slight delay but enough to be a major problem when playing video games where every ms matters.

A series are the most comfortable earbuds I've ever had. They never tire my ears, never fall out, I can use them for many hours. Buds pro 2 are falling out of my ears and I can't fit them securely. I've been anticipating new a series, and now I'm very disappointed

Pixel buds pro 2 with small ears!

I'm not sure yet. I've only been listening to music with the PBP2 and the ANC murders the sound profile pretty dramatically as well as the "pressure" sensation. With that said, when the ANC is turned off, they do sound quite good and provide a good ear seal. I'll have to test them both when I'm out walking to see which ANC is better.

For reference I used to have the Samsung Galaxy buds pro and they didn't like staying in my ears Edit: you also might want to look into IEMs (they aren't wireless, but they likely won't fall out) or something like Sony Headphones (not earbuds)

I have all of the Pixel Buds. All I can say is that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 is the peak so far. lightest, most comfortable, and long-lasting of them all

I just bought a new pair, and they have quality control issues, which I figured out in the first 5 minutes. The right bud is hissing every now and then, and they have connectivity issues. I just got mine in the mail yesterday and I've been using them off and on. Coming from the 2nd gen normal pixel buds, these are incredible. I was a little scared at first because when I first took them out of the box, they sounded a little "off" but I changed the ear tips to the smaller ones once I got done setting them up with my phone and that fixed my make-believe problems. The one thing that I have to get used to from the the original pixel buds is the size. The size throws off my touch control hand memory. I don't know how many times I go to pause or skip a song and I tap my ear or the edge of the earbud because I expect these to bigger than they are. Overall, I would absolutely recommend these to anyone wanting a new set of earbuds

My Pixel Bud Pro 2s work pretty good. Best part is they can connect to multiple devices and auto swap between them.

I've got Pixel Buds Pro 2 which I occasionally use but I mostly have to wear hearing aids (Signia Pure Charge&Go IX) - I often wish hearing aid manufacturers would remember Android users when implementing features. Seriously beginning to consider switching to iPhone just so I can use more of the features available.

Love my pixel buds pro 2, the anc is fantastic. But I've had some minor audio "lags" here and there, while it's simultaneously connected to my pixel 6 and steam deck. It's fixed by resetting the Bluetooth.

I sent my pro 2's back and kept my pro 1's. Some quality issues...snap crackle pop sound when exercising with a helmet or headband on that was not fixed with a different ear tip and does not happen on Pro1. Something about even light pressure of fabric on the bud makes this happen. Plus the sound would cut out of a bud randomly like others have mentioned.

What are you top rated ear buds for best fit? I don't want hooks or loops around ears. Tried new pixel buds 2 pro but wing tip doesn't catch any part of my ear lobe

For comfort, nothing beats the pixel buds pro 2. They're so small and light that I forget I'm wearing them, I side sleep in them, etc. Sound - Nothing Ear is incredible but less secure fit and easier ear fatigue ANC - Bose or Sony I think the best all rounder (that I have tried) are the pixel buds pro 2, but I value comfort way higher than any other features.

You had a good experience with the tour pro 3? I loved everything about it but during phone called everyone said that they couldn't not make out a word I was saying. I even tried factory reset. Google buds pro 2 are the best for phone calls in my opinion.

I've tried most of the most popular brands and Id go with the Google pixel buds pro 2. I've bought more expensive ones aince and some sound better but they have their own issues that just makes it hard to have it as a daily driver. The the buds pro 2 are the ones I make sure I always have in my pocket because they are the most reliable that I have found.

I had the same problem and returned them. Then I got the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and they fit my ears a lot better.

Honestly it was back in December that I tried the Bose QC buds. They were actually my first ever earbuds. I thought they sounded really good. I'm very happy with the Pixel Buds Pro 2. They are slightly more expensive (on sale right now though). They are less bassy than Bose QC buds. They do have an EQ in app of course. Pixel buds don't have some of the higher bit rate codecs if that matters to you. Bose noise cancelling is better but the Pixel Buds have pretty good noise cancelling too. You could also look into the Jabra elite 8 and Jabra Elite 10. They seem to be on sale frequently, putting them in a similar price range and are highly rated. I'm not sure what other good buds are in that range. I would definitely recommend buying them from somewhere you can return them since earbuds fit everyone differently.

1. I used to have a Pixel 6a with the Buds Pro 1 and had no complaints (used Wavelet for EQ). I have a Pixel 8 now with Buds Pro 2. For comparison, the only real benefit the Buds Pro 2 have over the Pro 1's are the wings. These help keep the things in your ears better than the Buds Pro 1

I have the Pixel Pro Buds 2 and it works perfectly with the Pixel 9 line up of phones. I highly recommend it.

I got mine yesterday and my sound quality is bad af. The ANC switches about every 5-10 seconds in some way and ruin the whole experience. For the couple of seconds where I got the sound like I want it with manual EQ, disabling Spatial Audio and Volume-controlled EQ, they still sound 100x worse than my first gen Nothing Ear.

Buds pro. They went through the washer and drier and still work. They are keepers.

Never got the quiet compliant. I have to believe everyone that says they sound quiet has severely damaged hearing. I've never even considered raising the volume to the max on the PBP1s or 2s. It would be way too loud for me.

I loved mine and had zero issues until about a week ago. Now the left bud has a high pitched squeal whenever I have it in noise cancelling or transparency mode. It's brutally painful.

Moved from galaxy buds Pro 1 to pbp2. The difference is night and day when it comes to fit, sound and anc. I love them

Something tells me it has to be a firmware issue if they did, either that or they were fine with it given the other improvements which to me is just unacceptable.

Google pixel pro 2 Bass is awesome, sooo comfortable. No app for iPhone but you can adjust the settings on a computer.

These are my first earbuds with ANC and it is basically magic. I thought my garbage disposal was broken because I literally could not hear it with these in! I disagree about transparency mode any sort of wind or droning noise gets blown up and is incredibly annoying. I don't know how anyone could use these while riding a bike or running on a windy day.

Senhieser momentom 4 sound great. Much better than my pixel buds pro 2 (obviously) and they are cheaper than the Sony whxm5. People usually say the senhieser is better for audio but if you want better anc go for the Sony or bose

I'd definitely recommend Pixel Buds Pro 2 -- they just stay snug no matter what. Edit: I just read your caption and they're probably not suitable for your need given their typical ear tips shape. Battery life's impressive however. You should get about 8 hours with ANC on.

I never realized why the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2s are not part of the conversation of decent buds. They sound great (almost identical to Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pros) and the EQ can be adjusted (though not extensively). They're not particularly designed for workout or running, but I use them at the gym and they stay snug all the time. And a personally important criterion: they're not bulky at all. Also, they're currently on sale for CA$180 -- their lowest since launch -- which is tempting me to get another pair. But thank you for this post -- some interesting recommendations here!

I had some problems too. you have to go in at an angle and then turn it Initially awkward but with time. But if it rains or I don't want to use over ear then Pixel Buds Pro 2 because they are super pleasant

I haven't got any problems. Coming from generic TWS, I would say these controls are pretty good and responsive. The only thing is that they don't have the 1 tap command, you gotta tap twice, but I'm ok with that.

I did some research before buying them. In theory, you can use the warranty provided by Nothing that covers manufacturing defects and functionality issues for 1 year. Just contact client support.

It comes with 3 sizes of... The tip that goes in the ear: Small, medium and large. The app has a way to tell you if the buds are making a good seal with the ear. If they don't, it tells you to change the tip for another size.

Same had my pro for years just upgraded to the 2s and I feel like it's significantly better, faster and soundwise is great. I've had them for about 2-3weeks

Paired mine to use for discord. As soon as you remove them from the case they'll bug out and disconnect. They'll connect fine when in the case, showing as default input/output...You just can't use them out of the case...which means they don't work for PC. (This was my experience. Others may work better. I'm connecting them through an ASUS USB BT-500 and literally 2 feet away from PC.) Would not recommend Edit: To be fair I updated the firmware for buds/case, updated drivers for bluetooth device (w10) and tried again. Same result. When in the case they'll show as audio input/output device with the ability to make default device etc... but when removed from the case they disappear from audio settings and only show as a connected bluetooth device that I am unable to use. These are useless to me as an audio input/output device for PC.

Awful buds, Worst I've had and I've had many. I get nothing but interference the sound drops in and out goes up and down in both. Recently changed settings on Spotify for higher resolution and now having issues since. They automatically lower the volume and receive notification saying it has been loud for a long period of time so been lowered and can't turn that notification off. Thanks for caring google but they're my ears and i like them loud.

Got the buds Pro2 some time back. Loved the way the setup with my Pixel 7A was smooth, and really comfortable to wear. I want to use them for ongoing speech/conversation translation, not able to figure out how to make this work. Any tips?

Okay this worked, it did take me to the “conversation” screen. But I need to translate from Tamil which is not available in this mode. I was able to check out how the tech works with French though.

For the most part they aren't. Pixel buds sound better, cancel noise better, fit better, and have a longer lasting battery life. But the conversation mode is seriously lacking as it works pretty good on apples. But I'm sure apple will improve enough to make up the difference on their next model. As it stands the pixel buds are far more worth the price

Too much latency for gaming. I tried em with cod. You hear things like a second or so late

Usually just dropping them back in the case for a few and pulling em back out will fix odd issues

The pixel 2 pro are very good. However they are pretty heavy and the one in my right ear (due to the shape of my ear) keeps falling off. So I can't wear them in situations like airplanes because it tends to pop out and fall on the floor. Never had that issue with any other one.

I tried Jabra 8, Jabra 10, Sennheiser Momentum 4, Pixel Buds Pro 2 Kept the Pixel Buds Pro 2 Best mix of fit, battery life, ANC Found the Jabra comfy .. ANV good on the 8 but audio quality noticeably dipped when it was on. ANC was bad on the 10 for me. Worse than the 8. Momentum 4 has good ANC. Probably around the same as Buds Pro 2, maybe even better. But they were a bit bulky and prolonged use hurt my ears. Also the case is big, like twice as thick as the others. Annoying to carry around. Buds Pro 2 comfiest, still sound good, ANC good, small case with tracking and speaker etc. Got them for £150 on eBay. Happy with that .. Momentum sound better, but not leagues better for my use.

My biggest issue with the space travel is the comfort, and the volume. The moca seem to be the same format. If it's louder, then that would be baller. I have the pixel buds pro 2 and they don't get very loud either.

I can confirm my old case fits my new buds fine. They are basically identical apart from the new speaker. Not entirely sure why the OP thinks there is a difference.

They work well for me too; they stay in and the transparency coupled with equalising pressure makes them comfortable to wear for hours.

I have Pixel Buds Pro 2 and small ears. With my AirPods Pros even the smallest tips were uncomfortable, but my Pixel Buds tips out of the box were perfect, and I think they're the medium size.

So I personally just upgraded from my Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds as well. I did a bunch of research & narrowed down my search to these earbuds: -Sony WF-1000XM5 -Bose QC Ultra Earbuds (& QC II) -Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 -Technics EAH-AZ100 -Denon Perl Pro -Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 (& Buds Pro) I tried the XM5, which had a slightly nicer sound quality & bass extension, slightly nicer ANC/transparency/call quality, & overall nice design & connectivity. My issue with these is twofold: one, I want to get away from foam tips because I'm tired of replacing them & they hurt a little after some hours; two, the tips of the buds aren't as long as the XM4, so I just couldn't get them to fit my ears. Returned but otherwise would've kept them. The Bose I didn't try, but I did try the QC II earbuds, which are virtually identical in real world use. I returned my QC II because the noise cancelling on the high frequency range was just bad compared to my XM4. At the time, I got Sony to give me an out-of-warranty replacement on the buds since the battery life was crapping out after an update. The Pi8 were the most comfortable earbuds I've ever tried, the sound quality was top-notch (even with the AAC codec), the case retransmission feature made them sound even better, & they look super nice. I had major issues with them unfortunately. ANC/transparency/call quality was unacceptable for $400 earbuds, as were the constant connectivity issues I experienced. The buds would randomly not turn on when taken out of the case, or just one wouldn't turn on, or they wouldn't connect, or sometimes the buds would randomly disconnect/reconnect, or sometimes the buds would disconnect from each other. I really wanted to keep them but they were borderline unusable, even after an update. Returned. I've tried the Pixel Buds Pro twice, & I tried the Pixel Buds Pro 2 once recently. I had high hopes for them since I have a Pixel phone & since I really enjoyed the Pixel Buds 2 that I had before my XM4. Both of the Pros had sound quality that wasn't as good as my XM4, as was the ANC/transparency. They'd be decent for the right person, but not for me. Returned. I was going to try the Denon Perl Pro earbuds until I tried the Technics AZ100. The Technics have virtually everything I was looking for & then some: LDAC codec support for high quality listening; ANC/transparency/call quality that is as good (if not better) than my XM4 (the ANC doesn't block as much high frequency sounds due to silicone tips instead of foam, but it's close enough for me); super comfortable & I don't have to jam the earbuds into my ear canal; very customizable touch controls for each ear bud; great battery life; slim case; solid connectivity with no drop outs so far; low latency for video; and they look great! TL;DR: I bought the XM5, AZ100, Pixel Buds Pro 2, QC II Earbuds, & Pi8 to replace my XM4. XM5 didn't fit right, Pixel Buds weren't great, QC II/Ultra were a wash, & Pi8 had way too many issues for the price. AZ100 are such solid all-rounders that they're worth the price. If the XM5 fit your ears, they're also really good. Pi8 are phenomenal if listening quality is your top priority. Bose are decent as well. I picked AZ100!

I've only tested 2/4 of those earbuds, but I'll post this since I was on a similar search: I wanted to replace my Sony WF-1000XM4 since I'm tired of replacing the foam tips & the battery life is starting to wane. I narrowed down my options to the Sony WF-1000XM5, the Technics EAH-AZ100, the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8, & the Pixel Buds Pro 2 (I use a Google Pixel). B&W Pi8 sounded phenomenal, fit phenomenal, but the connectivity issues & poor ANC/transparency/call quality made me return them. For $400 I expected a more complete package. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 sounded decent but worse than my XM4, & they also didn't fit my ears well despite me loving my old Pixel Buds 2. Returned because of that & also poor ANC/transparency/call quality. The XM5 didn't fit my ears as well because the tips themselves don't go as deeply into my ear, so I couldn't get a good seal like with my XM4. ANC/transparency/call quality were all improved, as with the sound quality & comfort, so I hated to return them but I just couldn't make them fit sadly. I decided to keep the AZ100 because they still sound 97% as good as the Pi8, their ANC/transparency/call quality is on par with the XM4/XM5, & the fit is comfy even with the stock tips. Plus they have the best battery life out of the ones I tried, & they're also super customizable. The ANC isn't as good as the Sony's when it comes to the high pitch sounds, but I'd imagine if I got foam tips for them then they'd be the same because they're great for low-midrange frequencies.

I just got mine yesterday. I am not yet sold on the fit of them. I tried changing the tips too but it just feels off in one ear. The noise cancelling without music playing is still better on my Sony wf-1000xm4. What bothers me is the feedback loop you seem to get when you try to adjust the headphones in your ear. Since it is built to be light it feels as if the material is so thin that any pressure on the headphones stimulates the microphones. The build in EQ is fine, I guess. I did notice that switching from music to any video with spoken words that it sounds flat and I have to readjust the EQ. Going back from headphones that use LDAC to AAC is a noticeable downgrade in some scenarios. It just sounds less full. What I appreciate is how easy and smooth the setup was though.

Pixel Buds Pro 2, they came with my phone. Before that it was a pair of Samsung buds that also came with a phone. I'm sure I could get better results, but they work well enough for me as they take enough noise out even in a theme park when I have needed to use them.

Just got mine at Bestbuy today. I completely agree. I love the transparency mode. The only problem is that Gemini is still not fully baked. I need the translation mode so I had to switch to Google assistant.

Just play on the other device. Eg listening to music on pixel, watch a YouTube vid on my MacBook. The music stops and YouTube starts playing. Mine works really well... until it doesn't, and then *nothing* short of disconnecting one device will get them to work again. Hopefully this will improve in an update.

For me, they are actually less comfortable than the previous ones. They don't really fit in my ears and feel secure, they are kinda too small now, whereas the previous ones were perfect.

Hey I just returned my Pixel buds pro 2 and ordered these AZ100. Have you tried running or working out with them yet? Do they stay in your ear nicely? I loved the pixels but they never really fit great no matter what I did,

I'm sleeping real good with the first gen. No as comfortable on the side but I still mange. It also help when you have 7 hours of ANC for full sleep. So now with second gen I'm going to sleep even better haha with 8 hours and comfortable for all positions. 

Always hated the airport design. The Pixel Buds give you a design statement with the shape and color of YOUR choice. 

They are amazing. I have never had any others so I can't compare but it was pretty mind blowing how quiet they make the world.

I often record messages to friends to catch up since we are in different timezones. I have had these for a few days and so far they are the worst earbuds I have ever used. If the phone isn't in my hand relatively near me at all times the voice hardly picks up and the background noise overpowers the recording. I have been playing around with different settings but have yet to find the secret sauce balance. Noise cancelling cuts in and out and often feels like walking in and out of a wind tunnel. I am certain I am doing something wrong but right now these are by far the worst earbuds I have used which just makes me very sad because I had wanted to love them based on your review. Hoping it's just user error

I got the Pixel buds pro 2 and I am very impressed with the sound quality. ANC could have been better and I hear hiss in transparency. I am also very impressed with their clear calling during calls as it cancels noise even in very noisy and windy conditions and my wife could hear me very clear. Best is their battery life given the reduction in the size.

Yeah I do, I don't think they're quite as strong on the transparency side as airpods (was a former iOS user with the airpods pro 2), but they're honestly really good. also the ANC I find to be quite strong and does block out quite a bit of white noise. If I were you, I'd wait as they recently went on sale and they may very well go on sale once again. keep in mind also I notoriously find trouble with earbuds fitting my ears due to a small ear canal, and these fit well. best of luck, keep me posted!

I recently purchased the pixel buds pro 2. Most comfortable IEM's I've used and I think it's because they are so small and light with a weird twist to lock insertion method. I've even fallen asleep with them in and I'm a side sleeper - No problems. With regards sounds quality, ANC can't really comment. Seems fine for their use case ie when I'm out and about. My open back wired headphones spank their ass as far as sound quality is concerned but they stay at my desk.

I personally hated the pixel bud pro 2. I got them from work for free as part of a contest. Used them for 6 months then not the white comforts because I’d bought them for my wife a year ago and she loved them. Night and day difference. The Bose ones are superior in every. Single. Way. If they fall out of your ears, just change the ear piece. You don’t stick them in your ear, you twist them in. Took me a while to figure that out.

I have the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and love them. Very small, they fit well in my ears, and the sound quality is shockingly good for such tiny little things.

I had these before my Bose qc 2s. The Bose are better in sound and noise cancellation, but bulkier and have more pieces that can fail. After losing one of the rubber guards it took about two weeks for the plastic casing to separate. I missed having my galaxy buds, their fit was great for me but I lost them and replaced them with far less comfortable galaxy pro 2s My biggest issue with the Bose was size as I fall asleep with earbuds in frequently. Pixel buds pro 2 while having slightly less noise cancellation are great for that with their extremely small size.

i think my ears are on the larger sidel; if yours are smaller, i think you should try the pixel buds pro 2 out of all of them.

i tried different brands of replacements, too. i think they're pretty heavy compared to the pixel buds pro 2

google pro buds have a great soundstage (i think, anyway); the A series sounded very tinny to me. turning on ANC makes the sound even fuller

I bought for myself the Pixel Buds Pro 2's and they sound great, but I was gifted the Shokz OpenDots One and those are my absolute favorite right now.

AirPods Pro 2 are still the king in my opinion. I switched from an iPhone to a Pixel 9XL and never looked back. Was really eager to get the Pixel Buds Pro 2. After trying to get used to them I still went back to the AirPods Pro 2, even though I lose a lot of functionality. They are just too good in my opinion.

Pro 2:to replace my Sony (old version - 3rd generation) ones- they are much preferred for weight and never falling out of my ears

Pixel buds pro 2. Coming from an iPhone and Airpods pro 2, the pixel buds are great! I dont use them for calling personally, and read they might not be the best for that. But its mainly the fit in my ears thats awesome. I had to adjust the Airpods every few minutes, no longer needed with the pixel buds. And the sound quality is also great.

PBP2, I literally wear mine all day each day. Comfort, quality, and integration (I have a pixel phone) is top notch. They charge so quickly too, achieving all day listening is easy.

I'm using the Pixel Buds Pro 2 (history of earbuds includes: OG Pixel Buds Pro, WF-1000XM4, and AirPods Pro 2). Honestly, out of all the earbuds I have used, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are my favorite ones - they are really comfortable to wear and actually stay in my ear with the original ear tips (unlike the OG Pixel Buds Pro or, to a lesser extent, AirPods Pro 2, which had a tendency to fall out gradually while exercising or chewing on food). The audio quality is really good and, important for me as I make a lot of call throughout the day, the mic quality is pretty great with my Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Overall, if you are willing to splurge a bit, I think they would be a great choice!

Started off with Pixel Buds Pro 2 and have tried several others including Boss QC Ultra, Earfun 4, Soundcore Liberty 4 NC/Pro, and Cambridge Melomania M100. 3 of these stood above the rest for me- Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro, Earfun 4, and the Cambridge. The Liberty 4 Pro and Earfun 4 are very, very similar to me in both sound, NC, and features. I think it almost comes down to preference on looks/fit, to which I personally prefer the Liberty 4 Pro (especially in white as it includes a case that isn't a shiny fingerprint magnet) for its fit and finish. Then you have the Cambridge which are so underrated. The NC might not be quite as good as on the other 2 but it isn't a huge difference, but the bump up in overall sound quality is noticeable, especially if you take the time to do hearing tests (when applicable) and then further tweak the EQs to your preference. It would be a hard to pick a single winner from these, they are all 3 great Side note- the Liberty 4 NC are very nearly as good as my above 3 picks and are a great buy at their current sale price of $70. The NC is pretty much identical to the Pros, main difference to me is you can get slightly more out of the dual drivers on the Pros when you EQ them.

Pixel pro 2 are by far the most comfortable earbuds from my collection.

I had the exact opposite experience using my Pixel. The Buds Pro 2 are super comfy and tiny but I got constant complaints about people saying I sounded far away. Everyone says I sound great with the JBL.

Oh gotcha. I've never heard someone else talking to me on them. I just talk on the phone A LOT for work and did several tests and consistently people said that my voice sounded best with the JBL. Worst was probably the Pixel Buds Pro 2.

I got them about a week ago and still find it difficult to pause music or podcasts with a tap on the side. More than half the time, I end up changing the volume, switching between Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode, or nothing happens at all. The button on the AirPods Pro worked much better for that.

I know you haven't had them for a long time but have you experienced any "confusion" with the multipoint? I found that the longer I have my PBP in during the day and switched from phone to laptop and back the worse it got. I have to disconnect the buds from the laptop and reconnect them more often as the day goes on.

Ideally it happens naturally when you pause media on one device and play from another but there are occasional hiccups.

One year, google buds pro 2. They are really great, u somehow bricked one but they sent me a brand new one. People are amazed by the noise cancellation when they try them!

I saw you mention you have small ear holes. The pixelbuds pro 2 came with both small and extra small tips. I've never seen extra small tips before. Small were always just a little big. The extra small are perfect. Use with my pixel 9 pro xl. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I've had a similar experience, coming from PBP1. Except the case is the same size. I'd say the biggest improvement is comfort and transparency mode. For transparency IMO PBP1 was 7.5/10 PBP2 is 9/10.

Good assessment! I love mine although I miss the ability to hold for the assistant to announce the time.

Had the Sony buds, Loved the sound, hated the fit. It would start hurting the cartilage part of my ear after about an hour of wearing it. Great sound quality and noise cancelling for earbuds though. Sold the Sony, bought the Pixel Buds Pro 2, fits great. Sound and noise cancelling are both pretty good, not Sony quality but I was happy enough with it. Lately I've been finding that my ear canals get a bit itchy after prolonged earbud use (yes, I clean my earbuds / tips regularly), so I picked up one of the Anker V30i for cheap-ish. Honestly it's currently my go to earbuds especially at work. I only use the Pixel Buds if I'm on a flight, watching a movie on my phone/laptop/tablet, and playing immersive games on my steam deck.

I got these delivered yesterday. For me they are a big upgrade from the original pros. They are very comfortable and the transparency mode and ANC are way better than the pros in my opinion. The issue I've noticed however is that there is a huge delay when watching YouTube for example. I didn't notice this nearly as much with the original bud pros. It seems worse on the buds pro 2... Anyone else having this issue?

I have both and the 2 has a speaker hole for tracking it while the 1 doesn't.

Pixel Buds Pro 2. I haven't run with them on but they are amazingly light and comfortable for just ignoring the world around you.

I'm happy with Googles Buds Pro 2. They work very well with my Pixel Pro phone, and the noise cancellation is good IMO.

It literally integrates with the phone. Like, you don't need to install an app to customize settings. I have a pair of Sony XM5 headphones I needed to install their app to customize settings. The Pixel buds settings are baked right into the phone, you can access them by going into the Bluetooth settings.

If you want to do any button customization, EQ settings, or other device settings. Then, yes, you would need to download an app if it wasn't Pixel Buds. All of those settings are built into the Pixel. I have the Sony Headphones app to do all of that. For my Pixel Buds Pro, I just go into its Bluetooth settings for the same settings.

My XM4s definitely do a better job at wind noise than my Pixel buds do. I live in NYC and the Pixel buds barely cancel anything out on the subway. The only reason I daily the Pixel buds is because the touch interface is better imo. If anything the lacking ANC on the pixel buds is a safety feature being able to hear cars.

Beware with third party isolation tips with the Pixel buds. They cause the case not to close right keeping the buds on and drain the battery.

Hi everyone, I am looking for ear buds that I will mainly use for the gym (loud environment) that should not cost more than 200€. I had the Pixel Buds Pro for a long time and just upgraded to the Pixel Buds Pro 2s but for me they are unironically a huge downgrade in terms of sound quality. I am mainly looking for \- good sound (can be on the bass heavy side) \- good & secure fit \- good ANC Everything else like mic quality, transparency mode, etc. I really do not care about at all. A friend of mine recommended me the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 or Nothing Ear 2024 to check these boxes, curious what you guys think and would recommend!

Man I went from series A to Pro 2 and the upgrade was significant. Really enjoying the experience.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 for most things, and Nothing Ear if I'm just gonna listen to music. OG Pixel Buds Pro as backup. PBP2 are the most comfortable buds I've ever used, and the battery lasts me from like 6 AM- 2PM on 1 charge with ANC on. The sound quality for music isn't mindblowing, but they sound nice imo. The Nothing Eat sound amazing though, and have phenomenal bass for buds.

Not qualified to probs comment on the outright winner, but the pixel buds pro 2, fit pretty great and have no weakness' in My opinion except the mic could be better, but I'm a pixel user also.

I've been using mine for a few hrs. I loved my original pros but hoped the 2s would be an upgrade. In my opinion they are worth it. I still need my trusty spinfit Omni on them as I must have massive ears. The original pros used to slip out and feel unstable sometimes when with the omnis but the pro 2 are solid for me. Once in they stay and didn't need adjustment now. They sound far superior to me, it's a joy to listen to. Much wider soundstage. The anc is way better and the transparency also way better. Not tried calls. Have zero interest in Gemini but maybe I'm missing that. I've got headphones to listen to music and podcasts essentially. Phone does other stuff for me. I'm keeping them for sure. Hope that helps... I'm not an audiophile but they're great step up just more refined.

With the Pixel Buds Pro 2, the case boops when you put the ear buds in it. So at least you have some way to tell with that one.

I've only had the opportunity to try once thus far. It's definitely better than the PBP1 but sounds like incremental improvements over the same issues. For biking less than 20 mph transparency mode for me was fine. Above that, it's still really windy but actually bearable now. With ANC or Off, not a huge issue, but I prefer being able to hear around me when I'm on a bike. All in all, biking with these is totally tolerable unlike the 1's.

I hope you get a response but I'm supposed to receive mine tomorrow and will let you know how these sound biking. With the PBP1, it's like it magnified the wind when I was biking, but when I turned my head, it didn't do that. I can't bike with my head always sideways though. I'm really hoping the PBP2 is much better for biking.

I have not biked as much as I would have liked. I'd say overall they're incremental but noticeable improvements over the PBP1s for me. Biking around in OFF was pretty comfortable, but I prefer to be more situationally aware. With transparency and ANC, it got bad once I hit a certain speed, maybe 30mph, and similar to the PBP1s, when I turn my head it's a little bitter. This is at least a higher speed before they got bad. I am pretty happy with the improvement because now it's at least tolerable for me to bike with them. I do love that these are lighter but also don't feel like they're going to fall out as much. L I'll experiment more and report back.

The first thing everyone should do after pairing the buds is go to the pixel buds settings -> Sound -> Eartip seal check. Run and re-run the check and change up the ear tip size until it says your seal is good. And if the included large size tip is still not giving you a good seal? That's too bad you'll need to buy even larger size tips from 3rd party. Hope this helps, this is a good ear bud for Android once set up properly

I would get the Pixel buds pro 2. 12 hour battery is the big sell for me.

I'm so disappointed they switched the design of the new A series. The OG A series fit so well with that rubber ear flap. I've never had them fall out once. No matter what I was doing. Now, they got that stupid little rubber nub and it doesn't hold near as well. I returned my Pixel Buds Pro 2 for this very reason.

I used the pixel buds pro 2 when i was on android, they’re better than AirPod pros IMO.

I got mine a couple days ago and I'm pretty disappointed by the ANC. I do hear a lot more ambiant sounds than with the PBP1 which is annoying when I'm working in a cafe. The comfort is definitely better and sound quality also improved but was hoping for a much better isolation/ANC...

I use Pixel Buds Pro 2 and they are connected instantly as soon as they are out of the case. No connectivity problems so far.

I finally bought something off the Google store, super seamless. The earbuds were great. I think they were around $250. Definitely have decent low end bass tones in it. All in all I'd give them a B+

The pixel buds pro are the ones I just picked up. Definitely a great price, durable, practical, I love that Google, basically copied Sony's software, and it's an American company. That's the American way in a sense of taking technology and then creating a business in America. It was the first time I ever used the Google store, it took minutes, shipped fast, was a lovely buying experience; and as the Google store gets bigger and bigger, I'm sure they'll add to their product line. Definitely great overall Price point for a great product that hopefully lasts a while. I think mine are maybe 6 months old, barely used but definitely practical for phone calls temporarily, maybe a webinar, computer use for zoom calls Different colors, nice sleek 3D printing, sinks seamlessly with the phone. I think I had issues with an old Sony over the ear that we're about 350, it seemed they just wouldn't sink or were degenerate with an old MetroPCS Samsung phone I had. I think that's why I got frustrated, I might have damaged them, but luckily I bought him at Best buy and I could just return them as I had the warranty. * The Sony ones I bought for an ex-girlfriend, I thought they were extremely good for the price, I can't reference the sound, maybe check the frequencies, and the actual math data in between the two and find out between the Sony's And the pixel buds, for 75 bucks. What do you get? Are you getting deeper frequencies, maybe deeper bases, so that might be an angle to consider and check if you have the final two.

Love my OG Pixel Buds Pro, which I believe check all the boxes. I've been particularly impressed with the mics. Excellent clarity even when I'm taking a call by a busy street.

I walk in both worlds: Pixel Buds A-Series Pixel Buds Pro Apple Airpods Pro I also tried other brands, like Bose, which didn't fit well at all and returned it right away. Or the no-name orange light special at Woot, which didn't fit or work well at all (yeah, cheapie, I know). So it's all about fit for me. Before ordering, make sure you can return it if you don't like it. Airpods is a backup to my daily driver Pixel Buds Pro.

I use the Pixel Buds Pro, have been using them for a while now and whenever I workout, I change the ear tips to memory foam ones so they don't fall out. The reason I don't leave the memory foam ones is because the silicon ear tips block noise better.

Pixel buds pro sound great and definitely give you more of an ecosystem feel similar to Samsung and Apple with their respective earbuds when using the software. But the software experience isn't that much different from Sony and the sound quality is way better.

I sold my Pixel Buds Pro because the app stopped working properly. It wouldn't let me customise any of the gestures.

I'm interested about the reliability over time and things related to software/firmware bugs. I never had issues with my PBP in terms of sound quality or ANC or transparency quality "in a vacuum," but they always had various bugs like remaining connected after being put in the case, or going into an audio echo state when in cellular voice calls, or in-ear detection occasionally going wonky and causing other issues. But then I ended up getting a pair of bose QC ultras and noticed how much better their ANC and transparency were. I honestly didn't care that much about the difference of either, but it's mostly the fact that I haven't had bugs like I did with the PBP. With google pushing the price of the PBP2 up toward the more-premium price point, I hope they improved their software/firmware QC.

My experience is pretty much the same. Still rocking these sound quality is good but I have connection issues and the buds are still connected after they are in the case occasionally. Usually just putting a bit more pressure so they make contact with the pins fixes this. Surprisingly a lot of cheaper earbuds have caught up in sound quality and ANC. I also occasionally listen with a $20 pair of Moon drop space travels and the sound blows me away for the price point.

I can easily pair them with my Moto or my work iPhone depending on when I need them. I just got my Denon Perl Pros today after scouting various threads and seeing they were on sale ($150). After about 2.5 hours, I think the sound quality (after personalization) is better than my Pixel Buds Pro (washing machine, RIP), but the ANC is noticeably worse. If I snap my fingers next to my head, with the Denon it sounds like it's behind a sheet of plywood, but with the Pixel it sounded like someone was snapping in another room, if I heard it at all. It isn't a major dealbreaker because I only use the ANC on planes and when my wife is home while I'm working, but while I'm in the return window, I'm open to advice for what other people would do.

I've tested Samsung Buds, AirPods, Jabra (from 75t which are my favorites to the newer Jabra Elite 10 Gen1), Redmi Buds 4 Pro, Xiaomi Buds, Sony XM5, Pixel Buds Pro, Technics AZ60M2EK... My choice was Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3, as they fit every checkbox (Technics had the best audio quality but suffered from leakage, all the office can hear what I'm listening to, same for Pixel Buds).

Pixel Buds Pro. I've had them for almost 2 years now, and they are still very good. Noise cancelling is good for the size (enough for drowning out noise in the office where I work), battery life is great, call quality is good. I know some people had an issue with the fit, but I've never had an issue with them staying in my ears. Maybe it's just because I have bigger ears. My only complaint is that transitioning between devices (eg phone to laptop) can be annoying at times, but overall not bad.

For true wireless, I've found Sennheiser Momentum true wireless very comfortable. I just got my hands on some of them series and they have been great. I find the fit the best and I use them for hours for music and work. For these. You find the tip that has a secure fit and then rotate the whole bud back into the ear. If you want active noise cancellation and top of the line, I recommend these, either the Momentum TW 3 or TW 4. You can find the 4s at best buy for $250 now. I've tried others at the top end including older models of the Sony WF..XM series and they were not nearly as comfortable. I also have a pair of Pixel Buds Pro that I do find comfortable but have trouble with the seal and active noise cancellation being weak, especially when I'm commuting via the train. If you buy from best buy, you can return if they don't work (it's how I was able to try the Sony's before I returned them).

I use my AirPods 2 Pro for my Apple stuff. Pixel Buds Pro for gym since I don't care whatsoever about those buds. And when I want to listen to music I actually use Sony XM5s.

Ok sure, if you say so, comes down to personal preference I guess. I auditioned these between Bose QC 2024, Pixel Buds Pro and Sony WF-1000XM5 and I can't really tell the difference. The A40 actually fit my ears best and the size and build is on par with the Sony. The sound quality and ANC I can't tell the difference, certainly not enough to make me pay 4x as much. These days all earbuds are good. It's not like in the past where you went from cheap 2 dollar wired earpods to quality over ear headphones and you were blown away by the difference. Now the internal drivers and circuitry is all very cheap and all the same more or less. The ANC patents expired in 2020, meaning everyone has the same implementation now. The price difference these days is purely branding and marketing.

Yes me too! Max volume was honestly like 70% volume on almost every other pair I currently own, including JLab Go Air and Sport models, Belkin Soundform Play, Galaxy Buds 2 and a few super cheap ones. I hope the new ones are louder. Somehow, I found the Pixel Buds Pro were LOUDER when connected to my old Galaxy S8, which was super weird!

Turning the volume up and down on the earbud is overrated and doesn't very work well for me on the pixel pro buds. I actually like beats pro by Dre because those little winged hooks keep it in my ear. Make sure you know what works best for your ear because even if it sounds amazing, if it keeps falling out, it's going to aggravate you in. Probably not last long.

I have the Pixel Buds Pro and they are amazing 10/10 and if anything happened to them I would run out and buy the Pro 2 immediately.

I've got the Sonys, they sound great and are comfortable even in my small ears (I use the comply foam tips with them). But their touch controls kind of suck (for example to change the volume you tap them several times, but to play/pause/skip you also have to tap it several times, so you have to get the speed just right). I upgraded from the original pixel buds pro, which I honestly didn't really like, and they turned me off from wanting to try the new ones. But their touch controls were much more intuitive and of course their app was much more nicely integrated with my phone.

NC earbuds (Pixel buds pro) and an Airfly. I used to bring some larger over ears but they're really not any better than this setup. Easily enough battery for a long movie, then you just throw them in the case for a bit and you're good to go again. Anything corded is also not as good because you have to unplug it every time someone wants to squeeze by.

Pixel Buds Pro, but it's really uncomfortable to wear for a long time. My cheap ass JBL buds gifted by the company fits snug and is more comfortable. I'm not sure if anybody else is facing this.

There isn't any until you get to the Pixel Buds Pro, which is mediocre, I hear it's much improved on the Pro 2's.

I like my Pros but I wish the noise cancellation was a bit better, when I need an upgrade I'll probably go with those.

I've got the Pro ones and they're pretty comfortable and the noise cancelling is pretty good. I really like the transparent mode. Used it for the week I was in Tokyo so I could hear background noise like the train announcements, traffic but still hear Google Maps give directions. I'd have them in for somewhere between 3 and 5 hours but I'd be putting them back in the case a lot so they were constantly getting recharged.

I used the Pixel Buds Pro while in Tokyo and they were excellent. The transparent mode let me walk around with them in and hear train announcements, etc.

I like the features of the Pixel Buds Pro: switch to transparent mode when I speak, translate, good sound. But I really like the fit and sound of my NC Soundcore buds. The Liberty 4 Pro NC are $130, but the Liberty 4 NC regular are on sale for $70. Battery life is supposed to be excellent, too. I have older models of Liberty Air 2 and Liberty 3 Pro. Both sound fantastic, and the Liberty Pro wings really keep 'em in your ear. I have Pixel Buds Pro, the first version without wings and they just don't stay in my ears, even with the Spin Fit attachments.

I've tried multiple different ones that were designed for sleep and have had bad luck with all of them for various reasons, the most expensive ones ive tried were Anker A20, I had bad luck with them too and returned them as well, they lost Bluetooth connection when laying one my side, I guess the pillow blocked the Bluetooth signal. Now I just use Pixel buds Pros and they're pretty small and work well enough for me.

Do you think tws can explode in the ears? Because I did read the news where there were Samsung Galaxy buds which exploded in the ears of a lady. That's my new fear unlocked and I have five pairs of tws with me. 1. Samsung Galaxy buds 2 Pro 2. Pixel buds Pro 3. Pixel buds A series 4. Realme buds Air 3 5. Anker Liberty 4 TWS While they are all good brands and I don't wear them for hours, but I do feel it's a risk now.

Best place to test the noise cancelling: 145-157 on the 1. Anything with noise cancelling is a must. Beats Fit Pro and Pixel Buds Pro are my two go-tos.

I only use airpod pros with my iPad - I'm team Pixel for my phone, but their noise cancelling on planes is flawless

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are a natural companion. I've really enjoyed my Pixel Buds Pro and would get the Pro 2 if they broke some day.

It depends on what I'm doing. My daily is the Pixel Buds Pro. I also have the Pixel Buds A Series. If I'm working out, I use a pair of earbuds from a company called JZones. They are $30 USD and work amazing.

I've got the pixel bud pros and to be honest I'm very disappointed. No and again they let out this horrible high pitched whine and the left bud has gotten much much quieter than the right. Recently replaced with some xm5 Sony's (in ears) and the difference is night and day, not only in noise cancelling but the quality of the music too. Early days but so far I can't fault them.

I have Pixel Buds Pro, but only use them for phone calls when I want/need to use them. For the gym and short flights, Beats Fit Pro. For long flights, Bose 700s.

I don't really like OP buds. Ironically the best ones I've used are Pixel pro. I can walk around and talk with them and hear everything.

Jabra Elite 7 Pro which for me have been flawless for about 3 years but I'm not a heavy user... however Jabra are no longer producing any consumer earbuds now so I'd prob go for something different if I was buying again now. I did have the Pixel Buds Pro for a short while but I returned them as they came as a bundle with phone I also returned. They were really good though, fitment not as good as the Jabra. For me the fitment is the main reason for picking the buds I have.

Pixel buds pro(got them so heavily discounted, literally 50%off). ..music sound quality is a cut above, so good Huawei free buds 6i. Great for phone calls. Music Sound quality is really good too.

Earfun Free Pro 3, Baseus MA10S, Liberty 3 Pro - all have wings and are good choices. I usually have the best luck with buds with wings, but Pixel Buds Pro & JBL Live Beam 3 stay in place well for me without wings.

Not OP, but I do a lot of running with my earbuds. I currently have the Pixel Buds Pro which I love (temptated to try the new ones with the wing). I find the issue with sports and earbuds is the sweat. Even if they are waterproof etc, if I don't clean them regularly, the ANC fails or I have issues with the sound. At first I thought I'd broken my buds when I heard a high pitched noise with ANC on, but they were just cry to be cleaned... Alcohol wipes and a q-tip does the trick!

Pixel Bud Pros. I tried the Shokz but I didn't like the way it made my ears feel. Almost like a tickle.

If it were me, I'd wait for the buds pro 2. The buds pro having seamless pairing with the phone is just so nice for every day usage. I currently use the original buds pro even though I also have AirPods 3rd Gen and some AirPods pro, partly due to the better connectivity and partly due to how good they are at phone calls. Seriously, I can be riding my bike at 20mph+ and people hear me fine on the buds pro where all they would get is wind noise on the AirPods. I haven't tried buds from other brands, though I do have Sony over-ear headphones (XM5), which have been amazing, so I wouldn't be opposed to trying Sony buds if it weren't for the aforementioned mic quality of the pixel buds.

They can be worth it if you value them. IMO, I can't trust anything less than $100 USD. I've bought a few pairs to try to convince me otherwise but end up going back to my expensive earbuds. The lowest pair I own are the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, JBL Tour Pro 3, Apple Airpods Pro 2, Google Pixel Buds Pro, and Soundscore Liberty 3 Pro. My preferred earbuds are the Bose Quietcomfort Ultra and Sony WF-1000XM5. I want to try more expensive earbuds, but at that point, over the ear are better.

I've been running with my Pixel buds pro for a couple of years, never had a problem with them

I have/had several earbuds with silicon or foam tips: AirPods Pro 1&2, various Galaxy Buds, Pixel Buds Pro and the Sony WF-1000XM5. Some of theses are fantastic (especially the Sony XM5). But they all fall out and bother my ear canal. I've tried different sizes tips, Comply and other 3rd party tips nothing works. I wanted higher quality sound, but the AirPods 1 and 2 are the only ones that fit, didn't fall out and bother me. I never tried the AirPods 3, I'll try the 4s and hopefully they work like generations 1/2 did.

Bought these because my right ear which was operated on when I was very young never really had a good ear canal for in-ear type earbuds, which made me return the Pixel buds pro The Ear Open is literally a "forget you're wearing it" kind of audio device

I honestly couldn't tell you they sound worse than the Pixel buds pro, the major difference in sound is the fact that they're open and not sealed like the Google ones, but even so, I only really use them at half volume and it's plenty enough and with a surprising amount of bass and detail on something that isn't in ear Noise leak on the table playing, yes, but in someone's ear barely audible, you can definitely not make words out or anything like that

I have some jankiness with my Buds Pro in switching between my Pixel phone and my Samsung tablet (Tab S8+). From tablet to phone is never a problem, but sometimes the phone seems to force the buds to swap back. It's really annoying, and happened both with my Pixel 7 and now my Pixel 9 Pro XL. Apparently Pixels are Bluetooth bullies. I've also had issues where the phone randomly takes over bluetooth devices that it has previously paired with when someone else is trying to play. Like it just takes over and won't let go. unless I force it to disconnect.

I love everything about them after losing my Pixel Buds Pro without being able to actually locate them using the location process. Same issue with Apple Airpods. The sound quality is great, they feel great in ear and don't feel like they are going to fall out. I can't stand the case, I want them in my pocket but don't want to have to have cargo pants to keep them on me. I can't have a case hanging off of my belt loop, working in construction and having a 3 year old makes this a non-option. Maybe I need to embrace the fanny pack lifestyle, or grab a man-purse for my headphones?

Google Pixel Buds Pro. I like how small they are and the case doesn't take much space. I also have a pair of wired Truthear Hexas that I carry with a dongle and they don't take much space either. if I have to use a wired connection on a long flight then it's nice to have.

I would like to echo this opinion. I need more time, but when I fired up Tidal and said that high quality sound wasn't available on Bluetooth... I was concerned. Then I went looking for that big beautiful bass that should come from dual drivers. Not there. Messed with EQ, still didn't get great sound. Something is off. Both my Pro 2 and my Pixel Pro 2 sound better. And let's face it, the Pixel buds will auto switch between ANY Android device. That's core functionality for me

Buds Pro. They're fine for walking and the gym and sitting at a desk but do start to come loose in my ears so I wouldn't trust them for running. I have tiny ears. Sound good, nowhere near as good as my over ears XM3 though. Good ANC capabilities.

Mine suddenly stops working after getting it on release with P8, then now its unusable after factory reset

I have the Pixel Buds Pro, have had them for 2.5 years and have loved them! The transparency mode is amazing, like I'm not even wearing them. I'm no audiophile but I think the sound is pretty good. They don't hit the mark on the button controls, using the touch controls. I use them all the time for work calls on Teams with my Windows PC for work. I've used them on planes and it's almost like I'm not on a plane, they block out sound pretty well, but the transparency mode falters a little in that noisy environment (it's fantastic in day to day use, though). I have them paired to my Android phone, Android tablet and the Windows computer for work. They don't connect to all 3 at once, but I can easily swap between them as needed.

I have the pixel buds A series and the sound quality of these buds is the best. Pixel buds pro sound is pretty much the same. It all comes down to which one is more comfortable in your ear.

I have used my Google Pixel Buds Pro with my ally, works great. Long battery life on these and goes over Bluetooth. Used em on a 3hr car ride the Other day and worked flawlessly

I’ve had the original Pro set for about three years now. Battery is still amazing, audio is still fantastic, and my only issue is that ANC is weaker now, but that’s because I’m too lazy to buy new silicone tips. My best audio purchase to date.

I also find they are easy to fall out sometimes, but I again will blame me for not buying new, better fitted silicone tips.

**Google Pixel Buds Pro** pair perfectly with Teams. They connect to my laptop without issue and Teams sees them as just another Speaker and microphone device. Zero issues so far.

pixel buds pro. The batteries doesnt last all day anymore so I bought a nothing ear fun pro 4 but I saw bad reviews of the mic so I bought a used nothing ear A. I am waiting on them to arrive now

ANC on earbuds are going to be different for everyone as not all ears are the same and they rely on how well they fit in the ear to create a seal. I think if your main objective is to get earbuds with decent ANC, you'd be best to buy from a store that has a good return policy so you can at least try them out. Btw, I use the pixel buds pro almost daily but in transparency mode because I use them at work and I need to hear what's around me but I found the ANC to be pretty good, not on the level as what you'd get from some over the ear headphones but that's expected.

I have 2 pairs of Pixel Buds A series. I love how they feel in my ears. I get overstimulated kind of easily and sometimes put them in my ears to quiet the surroundings w/o anything playing. - yes, I have 2 dif kinds of loop earplugs and I still prefer the PBs. - I bought airpods & airpod pros for work (MacBook). The airpod Pro is similar in quality to the A's IMO. The regular Airpods with no cushion annoyingly fall out of my ears. - I thought I lost my PBs and could only go for a WEEK without them. I was incredibly sad. Of course I found them after I purchased their replacement. - The PB app on the Pixel is fine. Tells you charge status, you can adjust a couple of settings. - I'm not big on noise cancelling so I didnt feel the PB Pro was worth the extra expense. Cons - If I'm in the same room as my Google home device, and I ask it to set a timer (weekly, for cooking), my Pixel phone will respond. I always, always hit "wrong device responded" on the Google Home but it doesn't fix the issue. - I wish I could adjust the volume like I can with wired earbuds, but that is a semi unrealistic expectation. - The volume sometimes doesn't go quiet enough when I'm in a quiet room. I have started using the adaptive sound setting in the PB app, and it helps a little bit. It is NOT quiet enough for me to wear them to fall asleep. I bought a Hoom band for that purpose, but not really that comfortable. Pixels: current 9; prev 6P, 2.

Have you tried cleaning the contacts and resetting the buds to factory settings? I ran into a similar problem but it turned out to be a weird software bug. Resetting the buds and re-pairing to my phone fixed it. Failing that, I like the Pixel Buds Pro (which I had before the XM5s), so I would check out the newer model.

I'm a Pixel and iPhone user, but I assume iPhone and Mac will be the same experience. I use Pixel Buds Pro, they're able to jump back and forth easy enough, connecting was easy, given that it's connected to both devices I still can use my preferred controls. The one time it has a hiccup is when I am listening to something on pixel, then take a call on iPhone, it doesn't always auto focus back to pixel.

I have both the OG Pros and the As. The As fit much better, are much more secure in the ear, and are lighter. Def the better choice if you're using them during exercise. The sound quality is fine for things like podcasts and YouTube, and ok for music. The Pros sound much better tho. The ANC and bass are very noticeably better on the Pros. Pros are better choice if you're using them on an airplane or other noisy environment, or value a richer, deeper sound (esp for music). They are much less secure and often slip out of my ear though. Haven't tried the Pro 2s, maybe they will be the best of both worlds?

After using the pbp2, the pixel buds pro feel like I'm stuffing Brazil nuts in my ears.

Same, I wear the older pixel A buds ones with my Germain helmet, and the shape lets the wind push them tighter into my ear canals. I got the new pro's, but they just don't feel the same and nowhere near as secure

I have the buds A and the pros. The reduction is much better on the pros. If you know how to put them on they are really great. A buds are also very good and will fit in the ear more easily. The latency is not terrible for both of them though.

if you put the noise reduction with your music in addition you will hear nothing. Sunday I'm waiting for my daughter's show and there was a run right next door. The guy had his speaker and broke everyone's ears... With my pro Puds I heard it slightly, but with the music it was perfect

Google Pixel Buds Pro would be a good fit, though I have no idea how well the ANC works compared to Apple Airpod as this is my first ANC earphone. However, I'd used it to filter out my roommate's loud snoring to help me sleep so it's pretty good for my usage.

I am listening to mine right now on my Pixel 9 Pro XL as I read this post and as I wrote this comment. They're absolutely worth it. Mine haven't lost a minute of battery time or had a single frequency loss of sound quality over the almost 3 years I've had them. I also have the original A series buds and they're just as good. Minus the ANC, head tracking, Gemini etc...

I like the OG Google Pixel Buds Pro. A lot of people complain about the fit, including myself, but I picked up a set of Comply foam ear tips and it makes a whole world of difference and seems to be enough for me. I got mine on sale for Black Friday a year ago, and you can probably find them discounted nowadays as well. The Google Pixel Buds A-Series are really good as well and were some of the most comfortable earbuds I've ever worn.

Can endorse this. I don't like the latest Galaxy Buds Pro's design and being first gen Google Buds Pro user, they are just amazing for the price (I got them with my phone). The sound profile (esp. the bass) can sometimes be comparable to my Sony WH910n.

I have the P9PXL as well and have quite a few earbuds to test between, I'd suggest waiting to see if you like the Pixel Buds Pro 2. As others mentioned, I also have this set on order with the store credits received from the P9PXL purchase. For what I paid for the PBP I think they're fantastic. It is annoying how it is so easy to have them disconnect in the charging case if you don't give it an extra push when inserting, but I can live with that trade-off at $100. Had I spent full price I'd actually be upset about it. $200+ earbuds should not have stupid problems like that. $100 earbuds that otherwise perform like $200 earbuds get some leniency on minor issues. This is why I will be waiting for reviews and/or a steep discount before upgrading.

I have a series and pro. A series are much more comfortable (to me)  Pro can connect to two devices simultaneously and and a great noise cancelling setting  Personally if I were in the market and needed a new pair, I would go for the cheaper a series. But plenty of folks will have the opposite opinion

Can I ask, I love mine, adore them infact and they sound so great but the shape of them causes them to slide out my ears. And they are hard to get in my ears and so so easy to take out. Is there a way to fix it or is it just the shape of my ear and I have to wait for 2a?

Well it's probably similar to the pro 2. And I think I can get a refund (maybe) on my pixel buds pro. If I can I may just hold up and wait for the 2a.

I love the, they sound superb, they have superb battery life and they are all around amazing. My issue is that we'll I can't wear them The shape doesn't fit in my ear so welp ig I'm waiting for the 2a.

I use pixel buds, but I'm android. It never falls out and it's survived many drops. Transparency mode is nice, but something like shokz prob safer overall.

Hey Routine, no I haven't, but in my opinion the google buds are way more secure in the ear, they're much smaller, have the wing, and for my ears, are definitely a better fit than the AZ100's. The AZs are good, but not as secure or comfortable.

Yeah sorry man! They are comfy, and they are relatively secure, but I definitely dont think they compare to the Googles, if you had problems with the pixel buds pro 2 (bearing in mind all our ears are different so take this with a grain of salt) then I dont think the AZ100's could be better. They definitely sound more clear than the GPBP2 though! They're pretty close to the Jabra Elite 10 gen 2 or the Jabra Elite 8s I'd say, like very close in terms of comfort/security.

I have Google Buds Bose QC Ultra a d B+O EX The EX blows the others away for sound, battery life awful and next to no ANC, these are my got to at home , crap app Ultra is a superb fit and great all rounder Pixel buds for when I dont care if I lose them so on the beach

What the f*** is with all the hate with raycon earbuds you can get them for less than $95 most of the time they're running discounts typically you can get a pair for around $65 and I'd say that's pretty good for the raycons that hold up really well The cases are fairly cheap you get replacement parts if you really need to The cases are interchangeable I love my raycons I bought the brands that some of these guys are recommending like nothing and all that The speaker ended up sucking there was no base and if there was base either couldn't hear nothing (I guess that's where it got its name) and well I do agree JBL is a good brand I would still recommend raycon if you have the money The e25s are great I really don't get why people have a hate truth or at this point they outperformed my Google pixel earbuds and my Samsung once
