Google - Pro (1st Generation)

Pro 2 fits a lot better - I have both and I stopped using 1st Gen pro.

My pro 1, after 2 years of teams calls and music daily use, had seriously lost much of the battery life (can't stand 2 hours teams call... Not that my brain can do much better but... So far I have to) So I decided to do the upgrade and go for Technics AZ100, sound was disappointing and voice isolation horrible and robotic, People started joking me if I was simulating my voice with a neural model. So I returned and went for pro 2. Sound is not that bad as they say, it's just "different" after some week I can say that it's a more "educated" sound, you need to give some time to your ears to digest it, but in the end I can say that PBP 2 sounds a little better than PBP 1. Sound is richer and more detailed and bass is more gentle and again detailed, especially in vynil ripped music, I can better feel the punchy sounds without all that bass that was pumped out the 1s. If you want more bass you can play with the equalizer and get the same sound of the 1s

I have both the airpods pro 1 and pixel pro buds 1, the airpods are way better at noise cancelling and sound by a lot. The pixel pro buds just work better by easily switching back and forth between your computer and phone to take calls. The airpods don't switch back and forth and they just work better on the apple ecosystem. With that being said, if your house is that loud you will still hear some sound with both, unless you're playing music. I normally play rain sounds to mask the bit of noise that you can still hear. But if you want truly bouse cancelling headphones then go with the air pods max (I know you asked for buds)

Google Pro Buds. I liked the 1 and love the 2.

I'm using Pixel Buds Pro 1st Gen. They work great but Noise cancellation isn't perfect. Buds Pro 2 are a good option if you want access to Google Gemini/Assistant and improvements on the pixel buds

My left pro 1 fell out of my ear into the sink and died. I got the pro 2 and they're awesome. Definitely fit better than the pro 1. The sound is great as a layman, obviously not as... Uhh awesome as over ear headphones. Still I've been loving the pro 2s

Pixel Buds Pro (1st generation). If you can get it on sale (I bought it at 50% off RRP), it's excellent value for a premium TWS. Great noise cancelling, paired with great sound (as long as you apply a custom EQ - the default tuning is very bloated IMO). I wouldn't settle for cheaper options - you definitely get what you pay for, especially for noise cancelling and build quality. [Here's my custom EQ](https://i.imgur.com/Fn7dL7d.png) if you're interested in a neutral-ish tuning. Do note the 2nd generation [seems to have a much more natural tuning by default](https://www.soundguys.com/google-pixel-buds-pro-2-review-124563/#id-sound-124563), so there's probably not much need for EQ if you get the 2nd generation instead.

I have both the A and the first gen Buds Pro. The A I use for exercise and other sweat activities like mowing. They are comfortable and depending on the size of eartip they can do a good job of noise isolation. For everything else I use the Buds Pro. Even for first gen the ANC is really good. And I rarely leave home without them. I will say that I was very intrigued with the new Buds 2 design because of the new wing tip for stability, but with my current ones going strong I'm not in a hurry to upgrade. Having said that I will absolutely be getting the Buds 2 when the time is right.

If you can pick up the first gen pixel buds pro pretty cheap I would go them. There are still some retailers in Australia selling them around $150 which is absolute steal. The pixel buds pro 2 I am sure are amazing but gen 1 are great and would highly recommend.

Been using the first Gen pixel buds pro and I love them. Only reason I'm considering the green 2 are for the longer run time. These have been fantastic for flights but they come up just short of 8 hours with anc.

No, that's the trade-off. I wear Shokz to maintain situational awareness of my surroundings (cars, animals, etc.). I've used the Pixel Buds' transparency mode, but I'm not a fan because they've slipped out on occasion.

I use my pixel buds pros!! Mint earbuds with decent battery and anc/transparency, but the sound quality is great. No connectivity issues either, pair to my phone and deck at the same time so I don't have to faf with that

I have the Pixel Buds Pro 2, the original Pixel Buds Pro, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Max, and Sony WF1000XM4s. The best phone call device I have though is the Ray Ban Metas. They are incredible.

They can be worth it if you value them. IMO, I can't trust anything less than $100 USD. I've bought a few pairs to try to convince me otherwise but end up going back to my expensive earbuds. The lowest pair I own are the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, JBL Tour Pro 3, Apple Airpods Pro 2, Google Pixel Buds Pro, and Soundscore Liberty 3 Pro. My preferred earbuds are the Bose Quietcomfort Ultra and Sony WF-1000XM5. I want to try more expensive earbuds, but at that point, over the ear are better.

Just got the Buds Pro 2 after my Pros 1 died in the dryer. Incredibly disappointed with the audio quality but the fit is a lot better.

I liked the originals more so far but to be clear, I only got my 2s in the mail last night. So far, the fit is better on the 2s, the audio quality is better on the 1s. 1s are heavier on the bass, 2s are light on the bass (even at max) with a clearer sound.

I'm in a similar boat, I have original pros but the battery in the left one lasts maybe an hour at this point. The pro 2s would be a no brainer but I'm seeing so many people saying they're on their 2nd or third pair because of a fundamental design flaw, which concerns me.

Bought these because my right ear which was operated on when I was very young never really had a good ear canal for in-ear type earbuds, which made me return the Pixel buds pro The Ear Open is literally a "forget you're wearing it" kind of audio device

I honestly couldn't tell you they sound worse than the Pixel buds pro, the major difference in sound is the fact that they're open and not sealed like the Google ones, but even so, I only really use them at half volume and it's plenty enough and with a surprising amount of bass and detail on something that isn't in ear Noise leak on the table playing, yes, but in someone's ear barely audible, you can definitely not make words out or anything like that

Yup, same thing. Returned the pros and got my Series A. Very disappointed the pros don't fit. Like why would they not make it the same style as the Series A? It's beyond me.

Agreed! I have a pair of the original Pixel Bud Pros and love them, use them for hours every day.

I've used Pixel Buds Pro, since they were an option. Good fit, don't standout in a crowd, sound is great and decent ANC. They were also one of the only pairs of buds I've ever been able to lay down with and not feel like a hunk of plastic was trying to burrow into my skull. Recently upgraded to the Pixel Buds 2 Pro, finally, and its all better. Even better fit, sound is amazing for something this tiny, and ANC is much improved. They're also even smaller and stick out from the ear less, so even more comfortable to lay down with.

I love everything about them after losing my Pixel Buds Pro without being able to actually locate them using the location process. Same issue with Apple Airpods. The sound quality is great, they feel great in ear and don't feel like they are going to fall out. I can't stand the case, I want them in my pocket but don't want to have to have cargo pants to keep them on me. I can't have a case hanging off of my belt loop, working in construction and having a 3 year old makes this a non-option. Maybe I need to embrace the fanny pack lifestyle, or grab a man-purse for my headphones?

Google Pixel Buds Pro. I like how small they are and the case doesn't take much space. I also have a pair of wired Truthear Hexas that I carry with a dongle and they don't take much space either. if I have to use a wired connection on a long flight then it's nice to have.

I've had a few pairs now. I had an old pair of Anker ones that they claimed was some sort of hybrid ANC, then I had the Anker/Soundcore Life P3s, which were... fine... Most recently I have the Pixel Buds Pro, which I wouldn't recommend at all, but are fine for noise cancelling.

Buds Pro. They're fine for walking and the gym and sitting at a desk but do start to come loose in my ears so I wouldn't trust them for running. I have tiny ears. Sound good, nowhere near as good as my over ears XM3 though. Good ANC capabilities.

Honestly there so little difference between the two. If the OG pros are much cheaper, that's what I'd go with today. ANC isn't noticeably better, sound quality is the same to me, and battery life is only a little better with the 2s. I wish I didn't waste my money on the pro 2s.

Just my Google Pixel Buds Pro. Solid. No issues.

I recently upgraded from the Pros to the Pros 2 because my battery case doesn't hold a charge very long these days (I've had them basically since launch. Unfortunately, I border on hating the PBP2. You will see most people saying they are way more comfortable than the PBP, but that couldn't be further from my reality. PBP much more comfortable for me the 2s legit hurt my ears over even just short periods of time.. I ended up selling my PBP2 cause it was past the return period.

Mine suddenly stops working after getting it on release with P8, then now its unusable after factory reset

On all my different android boxes I get a delay on every pair of headphones I have. Sometimes enough to make it not watchable. Chromecast has an audio sync option buried in Google home I guess. Best solution I've found is plugging HDMI from Android box directly into a Roku TV with a wired set of phones plugged into the remote. Edit: headphones tested, pixel buds 2 pro, Apple pro max whatever, pixel buds pro, ankers high end Bluetooth over ears.

I have the Pixel Buds Pro, have had them for 2.5 years and have loved them! The transparency mode is amazing, like I'm not even wearing them. I'm no audiophile but I think the sound is pretty good. They don't hit the mark on the button controls, using the touch controls. I use them all the time for work calls on Teams with my Windows PC for work. I've used them on planes and it's almost like I'm not on a plane, they block out sound pretty well, but the transparency mode falters a little in that noisy environment (it's fantastic in day to day use, though). I have them paired to my Android phone, Android tablet and the Windows computer for work. They don't connect to all 3 at once, but I can easily swap between them as needed.

I have used my Google Pixel Buds Pro with my ally, works great. Long battery life on these and goes over Bluetooth. Used em on a 3hr car ride the Other day and worked flawlessly

I can't say for life yet, but the aspect I appreciate most of my pixel buds pro is clear audio matched with ease of hearing ambient sound (with noise cancelling off). Active noise cancelling is not excellent but fine if you don't want the ambient sound. I use them exclusively for work and have never heard complaints of noise or sensitive mic problems.

I’ve had the original Pro set for about three years now. Battery is still amazing, audio is still fantastic, and my only issue is that ANC is weaker now, but that’s because I’m too lazy to buy new silicone tips. My best audio purchase to date.

I also find they are easy to fall out sometimes, but I again will blame me for not buying new, better fitted silicone tips.

I have Pixel Buds Pro and the 2, ANC is above average and average at times. WH-M5 can't be compared to earbuds - however, WF-1000XM5 cancels out more than anything Google combined. WF-M6 is slated for release later this year.

**Google Pixel Buds Pro** pair perfectly with Teams. They connect to my laptop without issue and Teams sees them as just another Speaker and microphone device. Zero issues so far.

pixel buds pro. The batteries doesnt last all day anymore so I bought a nothing ear fun pro 4 but I saw bad reviews of the mic so I bought a used nothing ear A. I am waiting on them to arrive now

ANC on earbuds are going to be different for everyone as not all ears are the same and they rely on how well they fit in the ear to create a seal. I think if your main objective is to get earbuds with decent ANC, you'd be best to buy from a store that has a good return policy so you can at least try them out. Btw, I use the pixel buds pro almost daily but in transparency mode because I use them at work and I need to hear what's around me but I found the ANC to be pretty good, not on the level as what you'd get from some over the ear headphones but that's expected.

Just an FYI the pixel buds pro (as far as I still know) have an ongoing continuous bug where they will not connect, or one will work and another won't. There are a shit ton of videos on YouTube about this bug as well. I found out after I purchased (because I didn't do my research) but the pair I got had this same issue and I had to return them. Instead of going through the hassle again or worrying, I just got the pro 2s. It's been a year and I use them all the time.

I have 2 pairs of Pixel Buds A series. I love how they feel in my ears. I get overstimulated kind of easily and sometimes put them in my ears to quiet the surroundings w/o anything playing. - yes, I have 2 dif kinds of loop earplugs and I still prefer the PBs. - I bought airpods & airpod pros for work (MacBook). The airpod Pro is similar in quality to the A's IMO. The regular Airpods with no cushion annoyingly fall out of my ears. - I thought I lost my PBs and could only go for a WEEK without them. I was incredibly sad. Of course I found them after I purchased their replacement. - The PB app on the Pixel is fine. Tells you charge status, you can adjust a couple of settings. - I'm not big on noise cancelling so I didnt feel the PB Pro was worth the extra expense. Cons - If I'm in the same room as my Google home device, and I ask it to set a timer (weekly, for cooking), my Pixel phone will respond. I always, always hit "wrong device responded" on the Google Home but it doesn't fix the issue. - I wish I could adjust the volume like I can with wired earbuds, but that is a semi unrealistic expectation. - The volume sometimes doesn't go quiet enough when I'm in a quiet room. I have started using the adaptive sound setting in the PB app, and it helps a little bit. It is NOT quiet enough for me to wear them to fall asleep. I bought a Hoom band for that purpose, but not really that comfortable. Pixels: current 9; prev 6P, 2.

Have you tried cleaning the contacts and resetting the buds to factory settings? I ran into a similar problem but it turned out to be a weird software bug. Resetting the buds and re-pairing to my phone fixed it. Failing that, I like the Pixel Buds Pro (which I had before the XM5s), so I would check out the newer model.

I'm a Pixel and iPhone user, but I assume iPhone and Mac will be the same experience. I use Pixel Buds Pro, they're able to jump back and forth easy enough, connecting was easy, given that it's connected to both devices I still can use my preferred controls. The one time it has a hiccup is when I am listening to something on pixel, then take a call on iPhone, it doesn't always auto focus back to pixel.

I have the PB, PBP and PBP2. I'm using the pbp2 now. Swapping the silicone tips out for foam ones greatly improved their ability to stay in my ear. The listening audio and anc are great but the microphones are really bad for calls. I always have to switch to hardwired options when I join work teams calls. My Ray Ban meta mic quality is far superior.

I own both I don't recall the exact issue i had with the first one but I do remember wanting to get rid of them which isn't like me-- if it works, it works The pro 2 can't make phone calls anymore Obviously they can but i can pretty much guarantee you over time the other person won't be able to hear you and it's incredibly frustrating. I just got used to switching my calls to speaker. The other more recent issue is wireless charging. That no longer works. I have a ton of chargers and tried about 4, all of which work fine for other devices. In the past couple of years ive had many concerning issues with much more expensive Google devices and there's no more honest way to put it-- i got ripped off But i won't highjack the thread any further Good sound from the buds but buyer beware

I have both the OG Pros and the As. The As fit much better, are much more secure in the ear, and are lighter. Def the better choice if you're using them during exercise. The sound quality is fine for things like podcasts and YouTube, and ok for music. The Pros sound much better tho. The ANC and bass are very noticeably better on the Pros. Pros are better choice if you're using them on an airplane or other noisy environment, or value a richer, deeper sound (esp for music). They are much less secure and often slip out of my ear though. Haven't tried the Pro 2s, maybe they will be the best of both worlds?

After using the pbp2, the pixel buds pro feel like I'm stuffing Brazil nuts in my ears.

Same, I wear the older pixel A buds ones with my Germain helmet, and the shape lets the wind push them tighter into my ear canals. I got the new pro's, but they just don't feel the same and nowhere near as secure

I have the buds A and the pros. The reduction is much better on the pros. If you know how to put them on they are really great. A buds are also very good and will fit in the ear more easily. The latency is not terrible for both of them though.

if you put the noise reduction with your music in addition you will hear nothing. Sunday I'm waiting for my daughter's show and there was a run right next door. The guy had his speaker and broke everyone's ears... With my pro Puds I heard it slightly, but with the music it was perfect 

I've got the Pro ones and they're pretty comfortable and the noise cancelling is pretty good. I really like the transparent mode. Used it for the week I was in Tokyo so I could hear background noise like the train announcements, traffic but still hear Google Maps give directions. I'd have them in for somewhere between 3 and 5 hours but I'd be putting them back in the case a lot so they were constantly getting recharged.

Earbuds really aren't BIFL, but I PUNISH my original pixel buds pro, like international travel, 12 hours used a day punish

Got both pro and pro2 buds. Sound quality is probably slightly better on the buds 2 but not by much. Other than that the ANC is slightly better and they are definitely lighter. If I could get a brand new set of original pro really cheap I'd probably get those but if there's not much price difference get the pro 2

Google Pixel Buds Pro would be a good fit, though I have no idea how well the ANC works compared to Apple Airpod as this is my first ANC earphone. However, I'd used it to filter out my roommate's loud snoring to help me sleep so it's pretty good for my usage.

I am listening to mine right now on my Pixel 9 Pro XL as I read this post and as I wrote this comment. They're absolutely worth it. Mine haven't lost a minute of battery time or had a single frequency loss of sound quality over the almost 3 years I've had them. I also have the original A series buds and they're just as good. Minus the ANC, head tracking, Gemini etc...

I like the OG Google Pixel Buds Pro. A lot of people complain about the fit, including myself, but I picked up a set of Comply foam ear tips and it makes a whole world of difference and seems to be enough for me. I got mine on sale for Black Friday a year ago, and you can probably find them discounted nowadays as well. The Google Pixel Buds A-Series are really good as well and were some of the most comfortable earbuds I've ever worn.

google pro buds have a great soundstage (i think, anyway); the A series sounded very tinny to me. turning on ANC makes the sound even fuller

Haven't tried the Pro 2 but the Pros are fine for me, I have a pair of Airpods 4 ANC in my rotation too, the ANC on the Pros is great and I have no issues with bugs or glitches, and I enjoy the sound quality (granted I am not an audiophile). Battery life is still holding up great too.

I have them both and id urge you to get the pro 1. Pro 2 is riddled with bugs which seem inherent in the product since so many people experience the same bugs and replacements don't solve the issues

Can endorse this. I don't like the latest Galaxy Buds Pro's design and being first gen Google Buds Pro user, they are just amazing for the price (I got them with my phone). The sound profile (esp. the bass) can sometimes be comparable to my Sony WH910n.

I've had both and the Pro 2 are a significant improvement over the original pros. The fit was my biggest issue with the OGs and I don't have small ears. The little fin and smaller and lighter buds fit like a dream compared to the OG. The noise cancelling is improved tremendously over the first gen as well. I'm not an audiophile but the sound is very satisfactory to my ears. I would pay a little extra for the buds pro 2 without thinking twice for the fit and NC alone.

Do your ANC headphones have pass through or transparency mode? My Google pro's have transparency mode and it picks up background noises so you can hear it under the music. Possibly something to look into so you can still have anc while working out.

I have a series and pro. A series are much more comfortable (to me)  Pro can connect to two devices simultaneously and and a great noise cancelling setting  Personally if I were in the market and needed a new pair, I would go for the cheaper a series. But plenty of folks will have the opposite opinion

Can I ask, I love mine, adore them infact and they sound so great but the shape of them causes them to slide out my ears. And they are hard to get in my ears and so so easy to take out. Is there a way to fix it or is it just the shape of my ear and I have to wait for 2a?

Well it's probably similar to the pro 2. And I think I can get a refund (maybe) on my pixel buds pro. If I can I may just hold up and wait for the 2a.

I love the, they sound superb, they have superb battery life and they are all around amazing. My issue is that we'll I can't wear them The shape doesn't fit in my ear so welp ig I'm waiting for the 2a.

I’ve got Google pixelbuds. In terms of secure fit, they’re very good for running. Disclaimer: my ears may not have the same shape and size as yours!

Sound is decent enough for me. Hard to make comparisons, as I’ve not had a set of Bluetooth buds before.
