I've had 2s 3s and I'm about to get 4s. I ahd that same battery drain issue with 2s but never was a problem on the 3s, which also had much much better ANC and the mic is on a whole different level compared to any other earbuds I've used. You could consider getting cheaper 3s as people upgrade and sell theirs.

If you want proper "works" earbuds be ready to shell out for a good price. People who buy budget brands don't understand they had to "cut back" on some aspect to justify their low prices. Mid range brands are a good sweetspot to wet your whistle but once you get a flagship product you understand WHY it has that. The best companies in my experience are the following in the flagship category: 1) Senheissers will forever be GOATed. 2) Sony is a VERY close second because they are literally pioneers in music! Everything from walkmans to Loseless audio compatible devices we see Sony never compromises on quality especially on its high end legends like the XM series. Mid Range companies are JBL and Anker that have the best tuning in their range. I have had their Freebuds 3 and Soundcore 4 pros and both are as good as the day I bought them. It's been years and their clarity is still as crisp today as they were the first time I paired them. Of course Sony and Senheisser blow them out of the water but good overall. Now budget brands like Earfun and Soundpeats are awesome too BUT their business model focuses on you Upgrading every year or so. Their buds aren't built to be long lasting because their undercut the market. They dominate the 100 dollars and below market hard which is why people are ok when their buds die in a year or so because the replacement won't set you back so hard and people like the dopamine hit from buying something "new" each year. But the more you use them the faster they wear out in my experience.

After trying Technics for two days, owning both nothing and Huawei freebuds, I say Huawei knocks it out of park when it comes to overall performance. My bias also from a place that I wanted really good call quality because I take a lot of calls when I'm on a call in central City, and they have been amazing. I take a call in a cafe full of people and crying kids and the other person can't hear a thing and music quality is not bad either. it's pretty good, and ANC is also much better than nothing here. although the fit is much better with nothing here, you don't even feel they are in your ears come on there that good

Goddamn, finally the excessive time, research and money I’ve sank into earbuds will serve someone else well. Huawei Freebuds. Active background noise cancelling for calls and call clarity blows everything else out of the water. I can be in a building with horns blaring, industrial mechanical room talking to tech support, I’ve even stuck my head out the window on the highway and somehow the person hears nothing but your voice. All the call quality and ANC listening features are as good as my Bose Quitecomforts were, but I use them for hands free calling all the time and got sick of people not being able to hear me. Huawei were game changers

It does, the ANC is as good as my AirPod pros were. The ANC in the Bose QCs is even better than both if you’re ONLY concerned with sound and ANC, but the call quality is so shitty I couldn’t even use them for phone calls, which is probably 50% of the reason I have earbuds
