OnePlus Buds 4 is generally good universal for most cases. But for using in bed, listening before falling asleep while not falling off, these days I actually really like clip-on style earbuds. There are a lot of them and I'm sure there are some great budget ones like Baseus or Soundcore AeroClip, but I really like Huawei Freeclip 2 or Shokz Opendots One, but both are relatively expensive and such open type earbuds are also compromise in m ay ways. That way if possible I would use 2 different types, but that can get expensive.
First gen Huawei Freeclip. Very comfortable, good sound and excellent mic. It was expensive, but prices are quite good now when second gen model is out.
The Huawei Freeclip 2 are excellent and very lightweight, available in 3 colors. The Huawei earbuds use Bluetooth, or you can download the Huawei AlLife app to access a wide range of settings and updates.
Plus one for the FreeClips 2 and that’s coming from a bass head. For the price the quality and battery life is wild
Fair enough. I am on iPhone so don’t benefit from LDAC. I am fussy about bass and was sceptical about open buds however these have been a delight. It’s your comment about the looks that surprises me tho as I think the metal look and feel of these make them seem like jewellery/piercings and more fashionable than an unfashionable person like me is comfortable with 😆 I will look through your other recs as I have the open bug now!
I used to have trouble wearing headphones for more than 45 minutes, and I'd tried over 20 different models. I have the Huawei Freeclip 2, and it's incredible how comfortable they are!
For at home or quick walks nearby, I honestly don’t think anything beats them. Touch controls are solid too. The head gestures are a bit hit-or-miss (though that also means they don’t trigger by accident much). I play basketball pretty often, and they still don’t fall off, which is reassuring. On the train they’re definitely harder to hear, and they can catch a bit when taking off a mask. Also, they’re so light that you sometimes forget you’re wearing them—might be a pro or a con depending on the person.
I own huawei freeclip 2 and they’re great open ear earbuds. They’re my main earbuds now since they’re so comfortable for long wear. I mainly use them for music, podcast and lectures. :)
Hi! Have you considered open ear earbuds? I currently use the Huawei FreeClip 2 and they might actually fit what you’re looking for. I’m a side sleeper too and usually fall asleep with one earbud on. They’re extremely light and they stay in place pretty well, even through the night. Since they don’t go inside the ear canal (they clip over the ear), they don’t dig in or cause that rubber tip pressure feeling. (But since they don’t have rubber tips, they don’t block outside noise). I mostly use mine for lectures and podcasts, and voices sound clean without that static/hiss at low levels. Also, there’s no left or right earbud. They automatically adjust depending on which ear you put them on, so you can easily switch sides without changing settings or buds. Just sharing in case it helps! 😊
