I use isotunes at work. Bt noise reduction buds. I think they block about 25 db and they reduce the volume of music to 75%. Here's the thing, they suck. The foam inserts are large and even the Xtra small fall out and are uncomfortable. The foam distorts the quality of music. I replaced the tips with silicon as many have at work. I also use a sounds boost app so the music is cranked. I have a hard time hearing people talk but I also shouldn't be having the music cranked so loud. What the stock buds offer is horrible because you really can't hear much from the bt. You couldn't even understand the words or recognize the song. Regular ear muffs are much better for true hearing protection.

Good to have you back behind the kit, u/farmsfarts \- LET'S GOOOO!!! If you just started up again, don't have to spend much money to keep your ears safe. When I practice on the acoustic kit, I have an old set of 3M WorkTunes I bought for yard and woodwork. 26 dB NRR, and I simply adjust the BT volume to get a good mix of music and instrument. I also have a set of ISOtunes BT in-ear I bought a few years later for outdoor summer work (when the over-ears were just too damn hot). Same deal with the mix. (Mostly I practice on an electric kit through a keyboard amp, can adjust both levels independently).

I use ISOtunes Free 2.0, I've used them for new construction and service. I also use their Calibur model when I go shooting. I've got 3 pairs, one of which is the same from 6 years ago.

I have iso tunes calibers that I use for shooting and hunting. They are also fantastic for riding and even mowing the lawn. Those walkers should work great

I've got a set of earbuds that function in industrial environments as noise cancelling earbuds, and also have some innate sound blocking in the ear fitting. Isotunes. Not terribly expensive, and makes a table saw sounds like a slightly noisy dishwasher. They also have models that will allow direct conversation to filter through. So, 25 db sound blocking of sm isn't nonsense, but when someone comes up and talks directly to you it comes through with only partial deadening. Enough to get your attention. The other thing to consider is actually trying to solve the problem. Find other folks who have similar concerns, bring it up at a staff meeting, if you have the right kind of environment for that discussion. I've definitely had direct conversations with folks while I'm talking to a customer. Getting someone to eat their fucking apple quietly might be a bit of a challenge.

Loved my isotunes, up until I changed my phone and they didn't connect anymore.

I love my iso tunes earbuds, they have passive noise cancelling I don't know if that is something you need. I've put them through the washing machine several times and they still work great for me

Finally switched from Samsung buds to iso tunes and I love them! Wish I had done it sooner
