There’s no such thing as the perfect wireless earbuds that excel equally in calls, sound quality, music, and workouts. However, I’ve found that the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 and Elite 8 Gen 2 come closest to meeting my needs, especially for calls. I own two phones—a personal iPhone and a work Samsung Galaxy. Jabra earbuds connect to both simultaneously ( multipoint BT ) support ), which is a huge plus. They also feature a SideTone option, which is similar to ANC during calls. With SideTone, I can leave the feature on to hear my own voice and some background noise ( Default ),or turn it off for less background noise and reduced feedback of my voice. Personally, I prefer Jabra for calls because I dislike 100% noise cancellation during calls, music, or workouts. Jabra earbuds are very comfortable for me (I use the medium silicone tips) and stay secure in my ears. Compared to the Apple AirPods Pro 2, Jabra fits better and is slightly more comfortable. Additionally, AirPods Pro 2 can only connect to one phone at a time unless both devices are part of the Apple ecosystem. Another issue I’ve had with AirPods Pro 2 is that, when using just one earbud (in my case, the right one), the ANC feels unnatural, and I find it bothersome. For ANC Lovers Jabra’s ANC is good but not the best. If ANC is your top priority, Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds are an excellent choice, offering superior ANC. AirPods Pro 2 also perform well in this area but, again, they’re not as ideal for calls compared to Jabra. For the ultimate ANC experience, I recommend over-ear headphones. The Sony WH-1000XM4/XM5 are my top pick, offering slightly better music quality than Bose. On the other hand, Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones edge out Sony by a small margin for ANC. It comes down to personal preference: Bose delivers 1% better ANC, while Sony has a 1% edge in sound quality. For audiophiles, other over-ear options like Apple AirPods Max, Sonos Max, Bang & Olufsen, Sennheiser, and Technics are worth considering. While their in-ear models are also good, they’re still a step below their over-ear counterparts for sound quality. For Music Enthusiasts If music is your primary focus, over-ear headphones are generally better than in-ear options. The soundstage, clarity, and overall experience are superior with over-ear models. For Workouts When it comes to workouts, many in-ear earbuds, even the most secure ones, tend to fall out during intense activity. For running or heavy workouts, I recommend earbuds with ear hooks, such as the Beats Fit Pro. Ear hooks provide much better security during movement. Conclusion Ultimately, the best choice depends on your primary use case: • For calls: Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 or Elite 8 Gen 2. Support of multipoint BT ( 2 phones ) • For ANC: Bose QuietComfort Ultra (in-ear or over-ear). • For music: Sony WH-1000XM4/5 or Bose QuietComfort Ultra (over-ear). • For workouts: Choose earbuds with ear hooks like Beats Fit Pro. Every brand and model has its strengths and weaknesses, so it’s all about finding the right product for your specific needs. Let me know if you’d like further adjustments!
r/Earbuds • What are the best earbuds for ANC? ->Well that's annoying. Because they were $299 last week on Amazon. I obviously never would have bought from *the airport* otherwise. Lol Fair, 3 weeks isn't forever. I needed them asap sadly, as my Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2s went in the ocean.
r/Earbuds • How long have you owned your current earbuds and would you recommend them to everyone? ->My Jabra Elite 10 G2 fell in the ocean, so I bought XM5s. I am happy with the change, not so happy being out almost $200.
r/Earbuds • What are the current best wireless earbuds? ->My headphones died on my last flight, so I've been exploring an in-ear wireless replacement. While I don't consider myself an audiophile, I am very particular... I'm a classical musician and want high-quality sound. I need great ANC since I travel frequently, and long bike rides introduce lots of wind noise. I'd like them to replace my desktop headset for calls if the mic is good enough, and being able to customize the controls is a must. So far here are the ones I've tried: * **Sennheiser MTW4:** Love the sound (one of the best), controls are customizable enough for me, the fit is amazing right out of the box with max isolation. ANC is excellent and wind reduction is amazing (the best). I was riding about 15 mph into a headwind and it sounded like a weather channel reporter in a hurricane. Turned on wind reduction and if not for feeling the wind, I could've been in a concert hall. App is easy, intuitive, simple, and fast. Unfortunately the mic and call quality are atrocious. * **Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2**: Great sound (not the *best*, but very good (although they do *not* support aptX). Controls are customizable enough for me. I feel like the fit would be amazing if they went just a touch further in. Again, if I could get a better fit, I think the ANC is outstanding. The wind reduction isn't as good as the MTW4, but I suspect that's mostly due to poor isolation: I'd welcome recommendations on replacement ear tips. Call/mic quality is the best. The app is a little confusing, and has some neat features. My first pair was defective--constant static in the left earbud. Customer service was phenomenal and I had a new pair with next day shipping for free. * **B&W Pi8:** Overall sound quality is amazing. I'd consider these the best. ANC is on the better end, but leaves quite a bit to be desired with ambient noise. Wind reduction is pathetic, but this isn't marketed for an active lifestyle. The controls are not very customizable, and there's no way to enable/disable ANC without going through the app (which doesn't help me if I'm listening from a laptop). The app is straightforward, though a little bloated, and it took me three attempts to get them paired with my devices. Mic/call quality is very good. Apart from lacking good wind reduction, my chief complaint--and it would have been enough to send it back regardless of everything else--is the obnoxious (and obnoxiously loud) haptic noises when using the controls. I couldn't figure out how to adjust them, so even when listening at low volume to a quiet section of a song, you get acoustically assaulted by a chime. These were sent back, and I'll add their customer service is horrendous and slow. * **Bose QC Ultra:** Outstanding ANC in the low and low/mid range. Doesn't work as well for intermittent sounds or higher frequencies. Fit is so-so even with the wings, sound quality is what you'd expect from Bose: an inauthentic representation of highs and lows to make the illusion of superior sound. I was sufficiently turned off by the fit, sound, and controls that I didn't test anything else. * **Apple AirPods Pro 2:** Quite honestly, I hate white and was reluctant to even try them. I couldn't get these to fit comfortably any which way, so they went back. I'll confess some of this may be personal bias, so don't write them off on my account. My wife uses hers all the time and I know from being on the receiving end the call/mic quality in noisy environments leaves a lot to be desired--even worse than the MTW4. * **Sony WF-1000XM5:** The default sound really (I mean *really*) emphasizes the lows and highs. For classical music lovers, I'd advice against these. The balance of ANC, wind reduction, and controls makes them all-around a good product. Controls are good, but I couldn't get a great fit that truly isolated the sound and made them feel secure. Since everything else was "good" I didn't bother with other tips and sent them back. * **Denon PerL Pro:** Takes a little bit to personalize the sound, at which point they sound pretty good. Not the best, but they pass my tests across multiple genres. Something feels a little "off" with the default frequency response curve, but I don't have the equipment to test it. Fit is great right out of the box. The wings fit in my ears perfectly and they feel the most secure out of them all. App is straightforward, wind reduction is good; not great, but good enough. Controls are the most customizable of them all. Worth noting: you can also customize whether they pause automatically when one or both earbuds are removed. Call quality hasn't been tested yet. Also, and this is a real annoyance: they're really hard to get out of the case. I have to turn it upside down and shake it to release the earbuds, so one-handed use isn't possible. I'm going to hang on to these a while longer--they definitely make the final cut along with the Jabra and MTW4. * **Technics AZ100:** Out of the box, the sound was... weird. There's definitely some heavy bass, but also a really pronounced high end. This was immediately striking me as a turn-off and would be exhausting to listen to all day. The fit was good--it took a little finagling to get them firmly in place, but once I did, I barely knew they were there. App was pretty buggy for me. Despite supporting multipoint connections, I couldn't control the EQ on the earbuds from my phone while listening from my computer. Controls are highly customizable. ANC works on all frequencies (unlike some others which are more effective on certain frequency ranges). but it's effect isn't as dramatic as Bose or Sennheiser. Haven't tested the mic/call quality or wind reduction yet. What other earbuds should I be considering? (Before anyone jumps on it: yes, both my computer and Qobuz are sending via aptX.) ETA: Updated with description of pros/cons of each.
r/Earbuds • The quest for perfect earbuds ->AirPods went back. Jabra is still in the running as long as I can get some new tips that fit better. I don’t get enough seal for isolation. The mic is far superior, the ANC is on point, and the fact that it still has a button is terrific for avoiding accidental presses. The AZ arrives today.
r/Earbuds • The quest for perfect earbuds ->I have a stupid amount of expensive and high end earbuds, but the ones I *always* have with me are the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2. Several of my other earbuds have better sound, but the Jabra still sound great, their battery life is among the best, and their comfort is unmatched. They're not #1 n any one area (except comfort), but they're arguably the 2nd or 3rd best in practically *every* area, making them good all arounders. What's better, winning a gold medal or winning *all the silver medals*? For a daily driver I'd probably choose the multi-silver-medalist.
r/Earbuds • What’s everyone’s daily driver true wireless earbuds ->If your budget is $300, I think they are one of the best all-around earbuds right now. My Jabra Elite Gen2 are still my favorite all-arounders, but the AZ100 sound is better. The only earbud that sounds better than the AZ100 *under $300* is the Denon Perl Pro, which were $330 a year ago, so their current price is a steal. The Technics are better in most other areas though. In terms of "are the AZ100s really worth the money," I think they are, in that they excel at everything you should expect from a $300 earbud. But you can get pretty damn close from the Sennheiser MTW4, which are a bit cheaper now. I always recommended the MTW4 over the AZ80, considering the two more or less tied. I do think the AZ100, especially in LDAC, has edged both out, but it's not a huge margin. Jabra Elite 10 and 8 Gen 2 are still contenders, at whatever their current price is. I'm trying out some JBL Tour Pro 3 and I have reservations, but they're growing on me. I don't love the sound but I'm warming up to it, and I think others might find it to be in the same league as the AZ100 soundwise. I have some qualms about the limited control customizability and some intermittent charging problems, but overall these are very good earbuds and legitimate competitors to the AZ100 in the same price range. OnePlus 3 Pro and Nothing 2024 have excellent sound and are good all arounders for half the price or less. These are definitely a step down from the AZ100 but we're talking diminishing returns here. If the AZ100s sound 10-20% better and have 20-25% better ANC, but cost 200%-250% more, it's up to you to decide whether those improvements are worth the cost. (Those percentages are just a rough comparison based on my experiences, and don't correspond to any hard data).
r/Earbuds • Now that the hype around the Technics AZ-100 is over, are they really worth the money? ->The Jabra are my favorites all around, but I have a lot of earbuds and there are a lot that beat them in one area or another, but none (in my opinion) that beat them *overall*. Comfort: no earbuds beat Jabra Elite 10 for comfort. Probably the next most comfortable would be Nothing 2024 / A or OnePlus 3/3Pro/2Pro or maybe Galaxy 2Pro/3Pro. But I find Technics, Devialet, Bose to all be reasonably comfortable. Sound: I love the Jabra 10 sound but plenty of premium earbuds beat them in sound. Technics AZ100/80, Sennheiser MTW4, Denon Perl Pro, and at a higher price point: Gemini 2, Pi8, BeoPlay EX (and probably Eleven but I haven't tried them). The Nothing 2024 in LDAC could potentially beat the Jabra in sound too but it's a close call. Most of these would be overkill if you're primarily listening to audiobooks and podcasts: in fact the Jabra are my favorites for spoken word, especially since the recent LC3 firmware update. ANC: Bose beats everyone. To my ears, the Jabra ANC is roughly tied for 2nd place ANC with Sony, Sennheiser, and Devialet. Some might argue that Sony is 2nd place and the others are tied for 3rd. Either way. I particularly like the Jabra ANC for flights, but the others are comparable. Microphone: I don't use earbuds much for calls so this is one area I never have much of an opinion on. My understanding is that Huawei buds have the best mics for calls but I've never tried them. Water Resistance: the Jabra 8 Active are the only earbuds I'm comfortable showering with. Beyond that I don't pay too much attention to IP ratings. My understanding is that Jabra generally leads in this area but that there are some (which I can't recollect) that are comparable. Physical buttons: nothing that I'm aware of beats Jabra in this area. I know the Status Between 4ANC (or something like that) has a physical button in addition to touch controls, but I only had these briefly and I don't remember how useful it was. Transmitter: Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 has a transmitter case (I think B&W were the innovators in this area). When using the USB-C transmitter, the Pi8 sound is *incredible*. I don't think I've tried the headphone/aux cable transmitter yet (the Pi8 comes with two separate cables instead of the Jabra version which has a built in adapter on a single cable). I think JBL Tour Pro 3 also have a transmitter option but I only had these briefly and I don't think I tried it. If your otherwise-perfect earbuds are missing the transmitter case feature, you can always get something like this: https://a.co/d/bbJW8Yn. I've used a similar device on a plane and it worked great, but I didn't do any side-by-side comparison of sound quality or anything. If all my Jabra earbuds disappears today, the Technics AZ100 or Sennheiser MTW4 would probably be my new daily drivers. Both have better sound than the Jabra and are probably 2nd-ish place in all the other areas: they're great overall earbuds. But this choice puts a lot of emphasis on music sound quality. For primarily audiobooks/podcasts, I'd probably choose the OnePlus Buds 3 Pro or Nothing 2024 (or Nothing A) as daily drivers. (Don't get me wrong, they both sound fantastic on music too). OnePlus would probably win out because of their controls and somewhat better ANC and battery life.
r/Earbuds • What beats Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2? ->I have a lot of great earbuds, and the Jabra Elite 10 are my favorite "daily drivers" for their comfort and overall functionality. I've been on the lookout for my next go-to brand and I'm leaning towards OnePlus and Nothing Ear. Both are comfortable, pocketable, have most/all essential functionality, and sound great. Overall I prefer OnePlus, but it's a close call.
r/Earbuds • Alternative to Jabra Elite 10 ->Not sure where you’re from but It looks like you can still buy them at Best Buy. If you loved them, just get them again. No need to look for different ones. I love my Jabras
r/Earbuds • What beats Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2? ->If you can still get them the Jabra Elite 10 Gen2 or Jabra Elite 8 Active Gen2, great sound, excellent ANC but Jabra stopped producing them and Software updates are up in the air
r/Earbuds • What are the best sounding wireless earbuds under $250? ->My favorite is the Jabra elite 10 gen 2. The fit is great the EQ is awesome and the noise canceling is very good. The icing on top is the new case that allows you to plug an aux cord into it and listen to whatever you plugged in through your earbuds. Great for travel as you don't need the cheap headphones the airline gives you.
r/Earbuds • My Top Earbud Picks of 2025 – Tested, Ranked, Worth It ->Yeah that sucks. It was a little difficult to get them in the states as well since they stopped making them.
r/Earbuds • My Top Earbud Picks of 2025 – Tested, Ranked, Worth It ->If you don't find the right fit yes they don't work as good. I have very little use for anc but I do use it while on my lawn mower with good results. For me it's more of the fact that I can use these while I'm traveling because of the tech in the case that as far as I know nobody else has. I've quite enjoyed mine.
r/Earbuds • My Top Earbud Picks of 2025 – Tested, Ranked, Worth It ->I've said this before but I'm a big fan of Jabra. I have a pair of the 75t that I've had for about 5 years now and they still sound great. I just bought the Jabra 10 elite gen 2 because I wanted an upgrade and I'm happy with these as well. The only downside is that's the last pair of earbuds they're making.
r/Earbuds • Which wireless earbuds will last the longest out of all on the market and have the best audio quality to that ->Yeah it's kind of hard to get them now but I was able to get the elite 10 gen 2 on their website for like $80 off. Just took a little longer to get.
r/Earbuds • Which wireless earbuds will last the longest out of all on the market and have the best audio quality to that ->I'm a big fan of Jabra earbuds. I've had the 75t for about 5 years and the only downside is the battery life has faded a little but not much. I just upgraded to the elite 10 and love them. If you travel much these are a must have since the case can be used to listen with your earbuds to anything with an aux jack.
r/Earbuds • Ranking the best earbuds at every budget ($50-$200) ->If call quality is also important, Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 is an excellent choice. Sound is fantastic, AnC is excellent and call quality is impressive
r/Earbuds • What are the current best wireless earbuds? ->Great question. I mostly listen to Prog Metal, Metal, and rock music. I tried the Bose quietcomfort ultra. While they sounded great, I had many issues with it. The worst one was a loud thumping noise while running because of the ANC and you can't turn the thing off. Before this I had the Samsung buds which were great but call quality wasn't good. I read many reviews, watched many YouTube videos and finally settled on the Jabra.
r/Earbuds • What are the current best wireless earbuds? ->I wouldn’t shop on eBay because it’s too expensive. Instead, I recommend Facebook Marketplace or your local buy and sell. As for earbuds, I would still go with the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2. They’re awesome, and the active noise cancellation is fantastic. If you don’t like the fit, Amazon has really great aftermarket ear tips that provide a secure hold.
r/Jabra • Calling all Jabra wireless earbud lovers - please help me fix my Jabra Elite 7 active or help me find a new earbud ->Jabra elite 10 gen 2 are a solid option for comfort. But you lose out on "the best" sound quality and ANC. They aren't bad sounding, but the Technics take the win.
r/Earbuds • Technics AZ100 have phenomenal audio quality but the earbuds hurt my ears. Any recommendations ->Try the Bowers and Wilkins Pi8 or the Jabra elite 10 gen 2. Both are comfy and one of the best on the market no doubt
r/Earbuds • The Best Earbuds to Buy Right Now? ->They both provide stellar sound and the comfort is top notch
r/Earbuds • The Best Earbuds to Buy Right Now? ->Never liked the xm5s because their sound quality wasn't the greatest and fit is not as comfy as other options. My go to is probably the Jlab Epic Lab edition or Cambridge Melomania m100. (Jabra elite 10 gen 2 are also very solid)
r/Earbuds • What are the best options for ear buds in 2024 ? ->Top of the option imo for me are the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100, the Jlab Epic Lab Edition, or the Jabra elite 10 gen 2. Ranking based on features, build quality, sound quality, and ANC 1. Jlab Epic Lab Edition (best overall for ALL features, pure sound quality, and superb build quality) 2. Jabra Elite 10 gen 2 (almost top notch ANC for this price range, great sound quality and comfort) 3. Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 (best battery life, long lasting, HIFI sound from audio engineers,)
r/Earbuds • What are the best options for ear buds in 2024 ? ->It's not really what makes them stand out, it's just that I prefer them because of the stem style which usually fits better in my ear compared to bud styled earbuds like the Technics az100, Sennheiser mtw4, or the Sony wf-1000xm5, etc. I also just use the OnePlus buds pro 3 because of their swipe controls and the fact that I have already used their previous gen earbuds for quite a long time. I used to use the Jabra elite 10 gen 2 but they crapped out on me which was another factor because I never had any reliability issues with OnePlus earbuds (Btw it's probably not worth buying more earbuds unless your willing to return them for the ones that you like)
r/Earbuds • Do you own multiple pairs of earbuds? How do you use each of them in daily life? ->Well there's not really a top 3 for me, more like top 3 for different categories like sound quality, ANC, transparency mode, or something else but over I would say for best overall it would be these. JBL tour pro 3 (love this pair of tws and imo it's the best overall bud I've tried in terms of all categories but the case is seriously annoying to carry around because it's massive.) Technics az100 (great pair overall like the JBL but I found it hard to stay in my ears because they were bigger than other bud style earbuds I've tried.) Sony wf-1000xm5 (it's a good overall pair with excellent ANC, mediocre transparency but the sound quality is too bass heavy and seemed to over some of the vocals and instruments making them sound muddy. Also I hate the foam eartips (personal preference) because they are uncomfy but the whole reason the ANC is good is because of them.) Honorable mentions: Jabra elite 10 gen 2 (mine crapped out and Jabra doesn't support or make consumer earbuds anymore) OnePlus buds pro 3 (my daily driver) Apple Airpods pro 2
r/Earbuds • Do you own multiple pairs of earbuds? How do you use each of them in daily life? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
