Your wants and needs are very similar to mine, except that I use Windows PC. I have had Elite 85t for over 4 years, and while they are still working OK, I have become increasingly frustrated by the mediocre voice call sound, poor hear-through mode, and terrible wind noise performance. I am currently waiting for the Sony WF-1000XM6 to be released and then will choose between those and probably the top Bose QC at the time. The Technics EAH-AZ100 are another great choice and the only earbuds I'm aware of that can multipoint with 3 devices, but their microphone isn't as good as the Bose. Google Pixel Buds 2 are a 4th choice, if I find an amazing sale, I may check them out. I know that whatever I buy I will probably end up buying the XM6 anyway, so am trying to resist the temptation to buy something else in the meantime.

Jabra 85 elite has both wired and Bluetooth. Great range and battery life is wild. I like them a lot. Good to have a phone call on as well.

Not Gonna Lie, My Jabra Elite 85t's are still some of the best buds I own. Albeit a little bulky and If it weren't for that stupid Right only Mono Mode... I just don't understand why all the buds afterward were never as good at anything, sound, ANC, transparency etc. They got rid of the sliders etc.. They are perfect for live shows and loud environments.

The QC ultra earbuds are my third set of active noise cancelling headphones, and the noise cancellation on them is \*stunningly\* good. Connectivity isn't a problem although sometimes the app doesn't seem to be aware when the phone is connected to them. Minor gripes: I don't like touch controls as much as the physical buttons I had on my Jabra 85T's -- but I am willing to forgive this since this allows for full control with only one earbud (my jabra earbuds didn't pair independently of each other) I also find the QC charging case to be a bit on the large side, and build quality isn't as good as my Jabra case was. Sound quality is excellent, and I enjoy immersive sound even though it's clearly a gimmick.

I had an issue with the Jabra Elite 75t active that stopped working. They had also stopped production of them, at the time. But they just sent me the Elite 85t. I don't remember having to pay anything extra.

I have used several elites over the years since 65t, then 75t, 85t and later elite 7 pro and am recently elite 10 gen 2. All had great sound and stayed in the ear except latest gen 2 for some reason. I lost a few, the rest stopped working after a year or due to some incidents like cases filled with water, dropped them in the washing machine, the dog destroyed them, and you get the gist. That being said, the older generations weren't perfect but were pretty durable and consistent. New generations boast to be everything you'll need but they seem to have more glitches than ever. My gen 2 stopped pausing audio when one bud is removed and keeps falling when I workout if I don't push them in after a while

If your ears fit Old but strong: Jabra 75t / Jabra 85t - ANC and sound best. Call quality is okay, transparency is okay. New: Anker Liberty 4 Pro - Call quality is best, transparency is best, update and app are strong too. ANC is poor and sound is good. Price is good for all. But the real deal is the fit, because the best earbuds are the product that fits well in your ears!

Ear buds are small and easy to lose. I’ve purchased two things to make losing my earbuds more difficult. The first is a case for my earbuds. [Example](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BX9QYV56) The second is straps. [Example](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CVRLJ8K2) Unfortunately, the straps I have prevent the case from closing. The thing to know is that such things actually exist and are available for whatever earbuds you choose. I also highly recommend you use a label maker and put your name, phone, and email on the inside lid of the case. Edit: I would also suggest getting “active” earbuds. These are designed for running etc and have good inserts so that they don’t fall out. The key is getting earbuds that fit **your** ears. Different ear canals work better with some brands Vs others. For example, my Jabta 75t has round buds while my Jabra 85t has oval ones. The round ones are far more comfortable and far less likely to fall out. It’s also important to get the right size buds.

Looking for advice on a new set of earbuds for gym. I have an iPhone 16. I tried AirPods pro but they are too glossy and there is something with the design that makes them fall off too easily. Currently using AirPods 4 and they stay in place but the noise cancelling is too weak for the noise in the gym so I have to bump up the volume too much. At home I use b&w pi8 and they seem to stay very well in my ears. They have a rubber coating not only on the tips but also on the speaker casing so I think I need something like that. Stem or not don’t matter but I don’t want the speaker unit to be too large because it will fall out. I have jabra elite 85t but they are too big and slippery. But the sound is fine and transparency ok. I also have bang olufsen e8 sport which has good sound and ok anc but way too big for my ears. I would prefer if the call quality didn’t suck and on the AirPods 4 it seems ok for my needs.

Yeah I have them on the radar. Chatgpt recommended in priority order: 1. Beats fit pro 2. Jabra elite 8 active gen 2 3. Jabra elite 7 active 4. Sony linkbuds s 5. Bose qc ultra gen 2 5 might be too bulky for gym 1 might fit good but perhaps slightly less than powerbeats pro 2 but more slim

Yeah that is a good suggestion. I have tried a bunch of different eartips for my airpods pro, both foam and speciality combined rubber + foam and they grip pretty well. **Example of custom eartips for airpods pro:** [https://nearplugs.com/cdn/shop/files/SiliconeandMemoryFoamEarTipsforAirPodsPro\_1000x.png?v=1685603047](https://nearplugs.com/cdn/shop/files/SiliconeandMemoryFoamEarTipsforAirPodsPro_1000x.png?v=1685603047) But I find that if the earbud has some kind of rubber ring or lip around the speaker casing they seem to stay much much better than if they just have a better replaced rubber tip. Because the whole speaker is otherwise kind of moving around inside the outer part of the ear and pulls the eartip out more and more during the day so I have to constantly readjust and push in the earbud. For example Jabra elite 8 active gen 2 seem to have some kind of rubber surface while the Jabra Elite 85t has no rubber at all on the speaker case other than the small eartip. I have been looking at getting the beoplay eleven but since it seems the inner part is quit big and the surface looks slippery (right?) I thought they probably would not fit my ears. [https://support.bang-olufsen.com/hc/en-us/articles/29123967131665-How-to-correctly-fit-your-Beoplay-Eleven](https://support.bang-olufsen.com/hc/en-us/articles/29123967131665-How-to-correctly-fit-your-Beoplay-Eleven) My new B&W Pi8 fits surprisingly well. I have tried a lot of other earbuds during the years and most with rubber tip has failed to fit well. So until recently I have had to stick to using regular airpods 4 with just hard plastic shell and let them kind of rest outside of the ear. Those at least stay in place but they have weak ANC and the audio texture is less engaging than when you get a better seal. I guess it depends on your skin. I seem to have a bit oily skin but if you always have a more dry ear or other ear shape than me I guess any earbud could fit good.

Jabra Elite 85t. I used to use the Sony WF-1000XM4 buds, but I had battery issues, did an RMA 2x within a year, and then they just refunded my money, so I went back to my Jabra. Sony sound quality was so much better, but after that experience, I gave up on them. I still love my Sony WH-1000XM4 over ear ones for work and flights

The gen 1 elite 8s are currently listed on eBay for over $300 - not sure if I want to pull the trigger. Gen 2 is more appealing but not for $1000 dollars used earbuds. Any other options left? I’m not getting the elite 10s - I had the 85ts and they fell out too easy plus the anc wasn’t too useful. I think another brand is probably the best option but I don’t know. As for the fix, I’m afraid of using too much glue (and idk what type) so there’s a risk of damage - unfortunately I can’t reach jabra support (probably because they stopped making earbuds)

I've got a pair of Jabra Elite 85T that are pretty decent for my Android phone. The Verge and other outlets reported that Jabra was exiting the market so there won't be any newer models. What is a recommended decent quality replacement for the future when these inevitably cease to function or break?

I’ve been using my 65t’s since around 2017 for work and still use them today as my main gym buds. I’ve also tried/owned Jabra 85t, AirPods Pro 2, Sony xm5’s, EarFun 3, CMF Pro 2, Tozo, Soundpeats, some more I’m forgetting, and most recently the Technics AZ80. The Technics are the most similar to the Jabra fit for me, albeit a bit heavier. I read that the AZ100’s are lighter and have better sound, but they’re also an extra hundred dollars, so there’s that. I’ve also seen online that some people are not as happy with the fit as with the 80’s, but then again fit can be very subjective.

Have you all looked into replacement tips from Spinfit, Sedna, Azla? Those seem like a good option as they carry lots of sizes and fit the ear better than the standard tips. (I don’t own any, I just saw them recommended on another post in the sub. It looks like SS, then S are the smallest sizes. They all have instructions on how to select your size and model). Also on Amazon there are silicone behind the neck straps that you can fit to any earbud while running/working out and later take them off when you don’t need them. I’m still deciding on a lightweight, compact, good-sounding, earbud under $100 and most of all great fitting for running. I have some Anker Soundcore that fall out of my ear easily with any of the included tips. I also have older Jabra Elite (not the active), which are more comfortable but still not great for running..

I had the Ip7 and as a truck driver they had about a 3hr battery life after 1 year they had some troubles connecting once in a while or one wouldn't turn on the driver. 2yrs in and the batter life was down to about 2 hrs on a full charge. Year 3 they died before we got there the left one stopped being loud and wouldn't match the volume of the right one just after the 2nd year mark. So longevity wise they were not the ticket. This all said I can't find head phones that would match the sound quality I got from them. The senheisser true wireless 1 and 2 were good but not better, Jabra elite 7 are ok but still not better? Beat studio buds plus I find to be very very underwhelming and would take the Jabra over them. Looking into the sonys or the bang and olfsen ones not sure what to do either. I use headphones for up to 12 hrs a day so I am hard on them and have killed multiple different ones.

Obviously way too many Apple fanboys/girls. CMF (Nothing) Buds Pro 2 are amazing value under £100 and with a unique control wheel on the case. The app is also super clean with Dirac and Spatial audio, they would easily be in the top 10 for me at any price. Sony XM are great but have premature battery failure issues. Jabra Elites are excellent if spending over £50. Samsung Buds Pro 3 are excellent under £100 with cashback offers. OnePlus and Huawei also severely underrated.
