"The only thing I really hate is the fact they are touch and not a push button. When I run I wipe my face with a towel and it keeps pushing the buttons."
All I can say is avoid the JBL Endurance Race 2. Sound quality is OK, but they just aren’t very loud and not worth $75. A loud gym, you can hear almost everything even with sound canceling. Sitting somewhere quiet, they’re not bad. Not even as good as my cheap Jlab Go Air Pops.
Had the same issue. Tried 3-4 pairs, ended up with the JBL endurance race 2. I use them climbing, kayaking, and woodworking. Sound quality is great, they have never fallen out. A very secure fit but still low profile. Waterproof also adds extra peace of mind. Call quality is good too.
the JBL endurance race 2's are good as they are heavily customizable, i.e ANC or talk through modes which take outside noise and bring it into the earbuds so you can hear it, or just disable the modes entirely and you can still hear the outside world
I have JBL Endurance Race 2 earbuds and I like them. They fit well and have an extension that works with your outer ear to lock them in place. They come with a companion app that lets you fine tune their response to gestures and voice control and have 3 modes for listening: full noise cancelling, one that allows background noise, and and voice activated background override. They are about $100 shipped from Amazon but that price varies a bit and they can be found for cheaper.
Thanks for the reply. They even have anc. I just bought some to see how they are. Hopefully they are halfway decent
I don't really like open earbuds. I like anc and getting totally lost into my music or podcast I play as I run. As as far as the JBL endurance race, they are on the bigger size but fit in my ear fine. The only thing I really hate is the fact they are touch and not a push button. When I run I wipe my face with a towel and it keeps pushing the buttons. Otherwise I totally like the earbuds. I'll try them out in the sauna and in the pool. Thanks again for the suggestion.
For running and calls where you need a secure fit and clear voice pickup, I’d go with the [JBL Endurance Race 2](https://amzn.to/3KR5jSq). They have TwistLock and winged tips that keep them in place even during intense workouts, are sweat- and water-resistant (IP68), and the mic does a solid job letting people hear you clearly, even outdoors. Battery life is great too—about 10 hours per charge with extra from the case. Perfect for running, gym sessions, and everyday calls.
Before Jabra stopped making earbuds, I had a pair of their Elite Active 75t that was the single best investment I made for my running (other than my hydration vest). I killed mine in the washing machine earlier this year and ended up with a pair of the JBL Endurance Race 2 and actually really like them. They’re comfortable, waterproof, don’t fall out of my ears, and have pretty good sound. Their ambient awareness setting is subpar compared to the Jabras, but for me, that’s fine because wearing two earbuds while I’m running makes me feel claustrophobic. So I just leave one in the case. A lot of people in the running community like and will recommend Shokz (formerly Aftershokz). They’re an open ear, bone conducting earphone. Supposedly safer. I don’t like the idea or look of them, and I wear too much over my ears to add Shokz to the mix. But you might like them!
I only lost the AirPods because I was careless and have been wanting a new pair since I lost the right bud(turned my apartment upside down cause I knew they were in it but still couldn’t find it lol). I pretty much lost the case and left bud on purpose. I went with the jbl endurance race 2 as they were on sale, on the cheaper side and have great reviews for noise cancellation and sweat resistance.
I quite like my Adidas FDW-01 earbuds. No ANC and they will start wearing on your ears after a while, but they ain't coming out unless you want them to, and if you don't like the neck band there's an FWD-02 that does away with that. There's a lot of more secure and good sounding earbuds with all sorts of security features out there than a mediocre brand like Jabra and basic airpods, though, and all of them are likely to meet your requirements better than any headphone. JBL Endurance Race for example are also very secure and have an excellent IP rating that'll hold out through a thunderstorm, Beats Fit Pro are expensive but offer soft flexible hooks with good sound, and JLab Epic Air Sports pack their ANC with over-ear hooks instead if you don't want anything poking into your ear. And any decently sized ear hooks *will* be more secure than even the tightest headphone clamp, without bumping or catching on anything.
I’ve always struggled with earbuds but I’ve been using JBL Endurance Race and they’ve been great!
