Their mic are meh, especially the sennies, they're not great at all.  Great for sound, but the mtw4 isn't a huge upgrade to the 3. It's what the 3 should have been (ie no battery issues).  Sennies claiming they're future proof when they didn't really do much with auracast (ala jbl tp3). Or not even adding jabra's transmitter case.  The devialet looks and feels nice, premium too. They're definitely up there. But again for the price you're paying, and what you're getting (yes amazing sound, top notch anc, excellent build, but not much other features), some people may argue they're not the best valued. The jbl tp3 seems like a nice overall package. So are the jabra elite 8/10 gen 2. They're great across the board, except for maybe build quality. Anc, sound, mic, ip protections, bluetooth transmitter, auracast are all above average.

This^ I just went down this rabbit hole and everyone's opinions online varied wildly from my own in person experiences. I ended up keeping Galaxy Buds 3 Pro (pixel phone). I tried Pixel Buds Pro 2, JBL Tour Pro 3, OnePlus Buds Pro 3, and Nothing Pro (2024).

JBL Tour, Bose QC, Sony XM4 and XM5, Liberty NC4... They all sound better but like I said, AirPods Pro 2 truly shine with their seamless integration into the Apple Ecosystem, transparent mode, ANC and call quality. You can basically put them on and forget they're there

They can be worth it if you value them. IMO, I can't trust anything less than $100 USD. I've bought a few pairs to try to convince me otherwise but end up going back to my expensive earbuds. The lowest pair I own are the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, JBL Tour Pro 3, Apple Airpods Pro 2, Google Pixel Buds Pro, and Soundscore Liberty 3 Pro. My preferred earbuds are the Bose Quietcomfort Ultra and Sony WF-1000XM5. I want to try more expensive earbuds, but at that point, over the ear are better.

I’ve had all except the huawei. I still have the JBL’s. I love them. But I also have AirPods Pro 2 and most recently bought one plus buds pro 3. Out of them all the one plus buds are by favorite. I can’t wait for the pro 4’s and the new AirPods Pro. But I think the dual drivers really make a difference on the JBL and one plus.

I went with JBL TP3 and I love them. Sound is pretty good. I think the "Bass" EQ setting sounds the best. Non-EQ sound didn't have enough bass for me. I have been using the foam tips. They're comfortable, but I can't tell if I have a good seal or not. App says seal is good though. But they don't feel like they're stuck in my ear. Maybe that's normal.

You cant go wrong at the high end your listing here. It's a matter of priorities. Best ANC, best sound quality, type of fit, most features? They will all do it all good to great but some are excellent at specific things. Consider what audio sources you have/want and what music you like. I personally loved the Sennheiser MTW4 but they had an issue with extreme suction blocking sound on my right ear. I replaced them with the JBL tour pro 3s and are good enough, the case being a transmitter is a hard carry for me. Getting a hard answer is tough because there are different products for different people. GL. from your list Id do the XM4

I was struggling a bit at first. I use the foam tips, compressing them in my ear and letting them expand after torquing them in. It is quite a maneuver but learnable. They are undeniably chunky boys. Fit is highly personal though, if they don't fit they just don't fit. I hope this helps.

I'm TOTALLY with you. Like, exactly. The left feels fine, the right hurts my ear canal. I've played with changing the tips and still, ouch. I own many earbuds (I've got a bit of a problem) and these hurt the worst. Just this morning I tried changing the tips again because I WANT to love these. But right now, my Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra, Bose Quiet Comfort 2, JBL Tour Pro 3, OnePlus, Sony, Google, Nothing... ALL feel so much better. I'm going to start googling third party tips now, if I find a winner, I'll let you know and I'd appreciate it if you did the same. I really want these to work as they are supposed to be my best "sounding" earbuds.

The biggest weakness of the JBL Tour Pro 3 for me was mic isolation. When i would use them to call people, they could hear me fine but they could also hear a pin drop in the room near me. Also, the case is HUGE. Besides those points, they’re great earbuds. I returned them and got the Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra True Wireless. Returned those too, same reason — mic isolation. They were also super buggy, random disconnects and not detecting connections. I returned those and got the Sony WF-1000xm5 and I’m keeping these, for now. The music quality is on par with either the JBL and Bose. Noise cancellation is worse than Bose but better than JBL. Mic isolation is the best of the 3. The fit is the worst of the 3 but I got used to it very quickly. All of this is an experiment to see if there’s better earbuds than AirPod Pro 2. So far, the answer is no. I’d keep my AirPods Pro 2 over any of these. I’m probably going to return these Sony at some point and just hold out for AirPod Pro 3 when they come out.

I’ve tried a lot of high end earbuds, and the only one I consider on par with Airpod pro 2 is the Sony WF-1000XM5. Everything else that I’ve tried was retuned due to some deficiency or other. JBL Tour Pro 3 was close in many ways, but the case was too massive and the mic sucks for calls.

I have the JBL Tour Pro 3 but can't get the proper fit, constantly adjusting the buds. They make a lot of noise too while walking so I'm using my XM6 headphones more and more now. Are there some good aftermarket tips available for the Tour Pro 3 who can solve the fit? Preferably to be sold in Europe as I'm from The Netherlands. Thanks a lot! :)

I didn't get the proper fit with the foam tips so I'm looking for some aftermarket ones. As for the sound, and I tried other JBL buds too but the high tones are really too harsh for me. The equalizer is ok but I can't get the right sound for me. That's why I stick to my XM6 headphones and only use the Tour Pro buds when it's too warm outside😏

I will add that they (and tw3) have an amazing wind cancelling feature that I have yet to find on another set of buds, which saddens me as I had to return mine due to an issue with volume control. I am now using JBL tour pro 3, which are better in almost every aspect but let in wind noise which is ruining them for me.

I second the JBL Tour Pro 3 (my current daily driver), especially when they are tuned properly using EQ. ANC is incredibly practical enough to use them in Gym, Commute (even better with foam tips), AZ100 did not deliver that punch with EQ's for me might be because I came from B&O EX. (I don't know why, but EX has that audio magic and bass response which I still miss in all earbuds I tried )

I have: - JBL Pro Tour 3 - Galaxy Buds3 Pro - Sony XM5 - Galaxy Buds Fe I rarely use the FE with my phone. I mostly wear it when doing cardio on my bike and have my tablet connected because it's the one least likely to fall off when I'm wiping sweat off lol ANC isn't great but for the price, it's fair JBL Pro Tour 3 are probably my favorite overall. They're comfortable(stem design) and have amazing ANC and most impressively an 8 hour battery life. Also I love how gimmicky that case is. I would switch to them fully if I can get them across phone, laptop and tablet easily, but they only do 2 devices at the same time. Sony XM5 have the best ANC, hands down. But I hate the stemless design and they can get uncomfortable wearing them over a long period. About 5-6 hours of battery life. They're okay. I wear them at work when I want a complete shut out from the environment Buds3 Pro are the ones I use the most because they're just the most comfortable. Also they integrate with my Galaxy laptop and tab easily. ANC is fine. The problem of battery life is real though. I am lucky to get 4 hours, and the case needs to be recharged practically after 2 full uses of the buds. So every 2 days. So the thing is, Buds3 Pro are fairly affordable especially when on sale. They have good sound quality and all. The Sony and JBL are more expensive, by a margin. So ultimately it will depend if you can compromise on battery life. Also, sound quality is better on the more expensive headsets, and Bluetooth connection is more consistent but it's not something the average user would find a problem with imo.

The JBL tp3 are my favorites as well. With a little tweaking in the app it's almost as good as my xm5 but way more comfortable and way better on phone calls. I daily a pair of aero clips because I haven't found a transparency mode that doesn't confuse me. So for open ears, it's aeroclips. Excellent sound for open and excellent phone call quality. Not relevant but just throwing it out there. I greatly prefer the JBL over the xm5, it's like a minor difference in ANC and everything else is just as good, plus better for calls and much more comfortable, however not as secure as the xm5, I use to hit the gym with the xm5 and they're great, the JBL generally has a more relaxed fit and I wouldn't trust it to stay in my ears for exercise. Glad someone talks about the tp3, everyone is always talking about the top 4 (xm5, qcu, az100, pi8), the JBL is kind of iykyk type of product.

They're pricey, but my az100s and JBL Pro Tour 3s work great. The Technics mic is great and multipoint works great too. The JBL are *super* comfortable (ymmv), has *great* ANC, and the fact that the case plugs in and acts as a transmitter is so helpful. For $250-$280 you should look at the az100 (10% off on Technics site) or JBL Pro Tour 3 (on sale for $250 from $300) both superb sound quality and better QC than Denons from what I see here. I have the az100 and JBL, but not the Denons, full transparency.

Some other options worth considering are the Jabra elite 10 gen 2 if your looking for the best comfort (subjective) or the OnePlus buds 3 pro (a cheaper option)

JBL tour pro 3 are by far the best overall pair I've tried with tws earbuds. They have solid ANC (better than the az100). Honestly the better ones I've tried especially for this price range. (Obviously Bose and Sony are still better though) Sound quality is also amazing, clarity and instrumental seperation are definitely top. Bass is reproduced well and can get decently bass heavy with EQ. Treble is crisp, detailed, and airy as well. Call quality is also decent especially with the new firmware update that came out recently which generally improves the background blocking. Battery life is also decent at glance but unfortunately still in the process of needed to test the battery life fully. Comfort is subjective but these fit my small ear canals fine without falling out and there is also other eartips sizes included. While these arent perfect, they are probably the best overall tws that are on the market in my testing and usage

Not sure of your budget but [JBL’s Tour Pro 3 (SoundGuys)](https://www.soundguys.com/jbl-tour-pro-3-review-123276/) is one of the best earbuds you can buy right now. It was released towards the end of last year and is on sale in the US yet again. Just excellent value and performance per dollar, especially with the $250 sale price. Comfort is very individualized but these earbuds otherwise check off all of your requirements. The Tour Pro 3 is better than most because of how well rounded they are while costing less than some of the other premium options. One other earbud that has solid all around performance is the Technics AZ100. But as I described [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Earbuds/s/qoSc2qfAEx), I prefer the Tour Pro 3’s tuning combined with their exceptional in-app EQ. It’s just a step above the rest, IMO. Feel free to use the search bar above my comment history to find all kinds of info. Some of my favorite sources for your own research are listed [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Earbuds/s/UJIbY9meIH). As for what’s coming later this year, hard to say. Not sure if Sony is releasing their XM6 earbuds. If so, those might be worth looking at. Otherwise, I’m interested to see what the next AirPods Pro will be like. I’m not holding my breath, but if Apple stops with the bs and releases a native EQ with them, they could be an excellent all around package for Apple devices.

I hear what you’re sayin’ but this is a bit misleading IMO. There are no details to give any context to how your unsatisfactory experience could apply to someone else’s situation, for example. Fit and comfort is very much personal and your connection issue is also not representative of the average user. And so this is really an anecdotal experience with little to go on. Though people generally only go online to complain about or look for help with issues, we can still see an overwhelmingly positive consensus on the Tour Pro 3. For example - [SoundGuys](https://www.soundguys.com/jbl-tour-pro-3-review-123276/), [0DiBi](https://youtu.be/J5oI-v_i5yY?si=G0kiAdbZnqs6tYmn), [DHRME](https://youtu.be/dba2shI8sqs?si=6GbCGUIaei40QTC1) and [Aaron x Loud and Wireless](https://youtu.be/4Y-2Pf3SCtI?si=TVwbn7dejapspdsI). Based on your recent post, it seems you might be using them with an iPhone. I would expect a high quality experience as far as connection stability vs. audio performance goes since [you’re able to make the most of the AAC codec (AREGINA Tech Review).](https://youtu.be/Nw0Erfi1VLw?si=4f1CuviydKRYl8mG) It could be some kind of interference, maybe other Bluetooth devices on and searching for previously paired earbuds, or maybe the fit issue is causing the left earbud to go off/ disconnect because of the in-ear sensor. Or you could’ve just got a dud. As DHRME’s review shows, it’s entirely possible to receive a faulty unit. This shouldn’t somehow mean all the rest are problematic. If you tried steps like resetting and formatting of the earbuds, deleting their Bluetooth connection, restarting your phone, turning off Bluetooth on any other nearby devices, trying different environments to eliminate signal interference issues, etc. it could just be an issue with your unit. As far as the fit goes, it’s incredibly important to try some high quality eartips like those from **Spinfit** and **AZLA**. This can’t be overstated enough and has proven to provide a night and day difference for many people. At the end of the day, the Tour Pro 3 isn’t as small and lightweight feeling as the AirPods Pro with their light and shallow comfortable fit. They also don’t have the proprietary hardware like the AirPods do for that snappy, rock solid connection performance. But this doesn’t mean that third party earbuds are a problem on iPhones. Quite the opposite. As long as they support the AAC codec, as virtually all earbuds do, I’ve had very good experiences on my own iPhone. As shown in his video, AREGINA goes as far as saying that he prefers to test earbuds using his iPhone due to the consistent and high quality performance. This wasn’t to discredit your experience at all. I do believe you were not satisfied with the Tour Pro 3. I hope this helps you, or whoever else, see that it could take a little trial and error to get things right. Especially if you’re not yet experienced with TWS earbuds in general. But once you know what’s what, you can apply your knowledge gained to get things right for you that much quicker, moving forward.

Thank you for the kind words! Wanted to mention that it has been a bit since this comment. The wireless earbud market is moving incredibly fast so I would consider other options today. [JBL’s Tour Pro 3 (SoundGuys)](https://www.soundguys.com/jbl-tour-pro-3-review-123276/), for example, would replace their other options mentioned above, as well as the AKG N5 Hybrid. They released a few months back but have been on sale for over a month now (US). A lower priced option would be the [Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro (SoundGuys)](https://www.soundguys.com/anker-soundcore-liberty-4-pro-review-125410/). These were also recently released and are frequently mentioned as being exceptionally loud. Flossy has [a video on YouTube](https://youtu.be/Kofa9Q1KBFw?si=rM0bm3ox9pCXNe8r) where he raves about the volume level too. These are well rounded including solid ANC to help quiet the world around you. And they have squeeze and slide gesture control (for volume) which JBL does not. Edit: My comment [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Earbuds/s/UJIbY9meIH) points to some of my favorite sources for info. You’ll likely find **Picky Audio** and **DHRME** very helpful on YouTube. **Andy’s Tech Tone** is another.

The Technics AZ100 do have that kind of veiled sound where vocals and lead instruments can come off as smoothed over, a bit recessed in the mix. My comment [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Earbuds/s/PMx0dEFdtz) describes it and compares ‘em to the JBL Tour Pro 3. As explained, you can use [frequency response graphs (AZ100 vs. Tour Pro 3, Squig.Link)](https://dhrme.squig.link/?share=Technics_AZ100_Def_ANC,JBL_TP3_SiliNoEQ_ANC) to get a really good idea of what to expect before you spend your money. No disrespect to that other dude but those EQ settings he gave are pretty bad for your tastes. Instead, try something like this to help improve the tuning: **Bass**: 4 **250**: -2 **500**: 0 **1k**: 1 **2.5k**: 5 **4k**: 7 **8k**: 6 **12k**: 8 As described in my AZ100 vs. Tour Pro 3 comment above, you’re looking to cut certain low frequencies while boosting certain highs in order to shift the tonality towards a more “clear sound” that’ll push those vocals and lead instruments a bit forward in the mix. Other well done EQ suggestions, like [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Earbuds/s/fwXrXCbH9m) and [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Earbuds/s/B2RusnaB5X), follow the same concept. I think mine is best but feel free to experiment with the overall idea. You may choose to boost or cut that lowest **Bass** band to taste. And you may want more or less at **2.5k** and **4k**, even deciding that one should be slightly louder than the other. Pay close attention to these two bands as this is where that sense of clarity for those vocals and lead instruments will come from, combined with the other adjustments. The **8k** and **12k** bands are pretty high up and are responsible for “airiness” and details of things like high hats, cymbals, etc. as well as the sounds below them. These last two bands could be hard to hear and can vary wildly from one person to the next. You may want more or less presence there, and may want one slightly louder than the other. In the end, based on what I’m hearing you describe, you might just prefer the tuning of the JBL Tour Pro 3. They have a more balanced sound that’s not smoothed over or veiled, combined with one of the best in-app EQs around. My comments [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/Earbuds/s/lhXdzkxFoF) provide a lot of details with follow-ups leading to in-depth reviews and data.

Check out the JBL Tour Pro 3s, they're IP55, closer to the IP68 than the other earbuds you've listed. Great sound, ANC is great with foam tips (pretty close to Quietcomforts 2024) and good with Silicone. They're 299USD right now, but have gone for sale for $249 I think

You have any issues with the TP3s out of curiosity? I them too, have had them for only a couple months at most, wearing them to the gym so it's been exposed to sweat but with IP55 it should be ok, but it's starting to have some weird issues? Ever have the left bud audio be barely audible? Or the left bud ANC control doesn't actually do what is set to? I'm starting to think is mine is defective, but it seemed perfect at first so I'm not sure.

I have a few recommendations. The best all-rounder may be the Status Pro X that's releasing soon if you're willing to wait about a month. Swipe and tap controls, good audio quality, good mic, and IP55 dust and sweat resistance - so a safe option for gyms. It's currently on preorder for a discounted price of it catches your interest, reviews are coming out and it looks pretty good  Otherwise, I use the JBL Tour Pro 3 for my gym workouts. Super comfy for me, IP55, great sound, top tier noise cancelling, and good mic. This one's unique because you can plug in the case via USB-C or headphone jack into whatever and stream it directly to your earbuds with a little better quality than normal and with low latency. Case also has screen. For more budget option, look into the OnePlus Buds 4 or 3 Pro, they're great too

I have hyperacusis, noise sensitivity, so I listen at a lower volume than most people, most of the time, and I found the JBL TP3 ANC to be terrible on the city bus with either the silicone or foam tips that came with it, and with some foam tips that weren't even made for the az100. I'm going to return the JBL and test the az100 on the bus. JBL sound quality is better to me because it sounds like there's more separation between sounds in music, but I want a balance of good ANC and sound quality. I will say that with my air purifier in my home on the medium setting, the az100 significantly reduces its sound better than the JBL. Hopefully XM6 will be out very soon!

For me it's about comfort. I loved the sound and features of the AZ100 but they were too bulky. The JBL felt cheap and plastic and were deceptively large for me. The ANC and hear thru were just ok. Not tried the Freebuds 4 but the 3s were good. I have tried so many and settled on the OnePlus buds pro 3 which are comfortable, have great ANC, great sound and Transparency. I have these and also came from jabra elite 8 active. For me the ANC and fit was much better on the jabras. I've tried all the different tips and even tried to stretch the ones from my jabras over the JBLs and while I can get a decent seal, it's nowhere near as good as the ones I had on the jabras. Just my anecdotal experience, though. The JBLs definitely have better sound quality and features otherwise, I just work in a noisy environment with my earbuds in basically all day and the jabras were perfect for me.

Me too. For me, they are maybe not the best in anything, but they are close at everything (close to the best ANC, sound quality etc.) and they are not bad at anything either. Any other earbud has some bad point (Bose QC Ultra: slow and buggy bluetooth, Sony: not so comfortable etc.). The JBL Tour Pro 3 basically have no weaknesses, except that in any aspect they perform at 95% of the best in class for that aspect.

The issue is you used headphones and earbuds that are terrible, despite the multiple high scoring reviews. It all depends on your budget but Soundcore and 1More make some good sounding products for their price. Make brand also aren’t bad, like Sony, JBL, and Bose. But you aren’t getting much better audio quality with brands like Sony. You are getting more features and leagues better ANC. Still, if you don’t want to break the bank, the Soundcore Space A40 are my favorite true wireless earbuds when it comes to bang for the buck. My primary drivers are the JBL Tour Pro 3, but I think the Space A40 sound awfully close. They even have features like Qi charging and multi-point. It’s their ANC that’s garbage, but they’re also often on sale for $40. I’ve heard their over-ear headphones and they weren’t too bad. 1More’s flagship over-ear headphones are often on sale for $65 and I think they’re hard to beat at that price. Lastly, if you don’t care about ANC, the Koss Porta Pro wireless were solid, at least for me. I don’t have a pair but I picked up one for a friend’s son and, from what I heard, they were solid sounding and look like they’re straight out of the late 80’s/early 90’s.

The Ultra are the right choice if you value ANC and a stable fit over all other aspects. Bose’s ANC with the QC Ultra is unmatched. If you have an Android phone with Snapdragon sound (not a Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel), you should have less issues with connectivity. But the QC Ultra earbuds are such a mixed bag for connectivity and overall bugs. Some people have zero issues while others, like myself, need to factory reset them while taking a walk and that requires putting them in their case and plugging into USB C power, because that makes perfect sense… I’ve gone through 4 pairs of QC Ultra earbuds after going through 5-6 pairs of QC Earbuds II and the 5-6 pairs of the original QC Earbuds. I still have my last pair of QC Ultra earbuds and they’re generally fine now, but it took a while to get to this point. The JBL Tour Pro 3 will provide better sound quality but their fit can be an issue for some people and their ANC is about 98% of what Bose can do. The Sony WF-10005 are similar. I prefer their sound signature and Sony’s app, albeit crowded, is not buggy like Bose’s. But their fit is divisive and their ANC is about 94% of Bose’s. There isn’t a perfect flagship pair of ANC earbuds and ones that value audio quality are going to have much worse ANC (like the Technics AZ100 and Bowers and Wilkins Pi8). If you can live with the bugs, or be lucky enough to not experience any, the QC Ultra earbuds are great. Bose did a lot of positive things with them like their comfortable fit, the earbuds are lightweight (but bulky), their touch controls can handle both volume adjustment and playback controls, their audio quality is bass-heavy but I like the sound signature (especially after EQ’ing), and their ANC is the best of any pair of true wireless earbuds. But they’re buggy, their charging case feels cheap and is bulky without having Qi charging, their battery life is average, the app is easy to use but buggy, and the microphone quality is terrible.

There are some people where earbuds just don’t work. The ear tip size, shape, and material all make a difference. That’s why Sony uses foam (and hybrid foam) ear tips. Their ANC is tuned for them and the seal they provide. Switch to rubber ear tips and they won’t sound or perform the same. The ear tips with the QC Ultra earbuds are oval shaped, that seems to be the newer trend for providing better isolation and comfort. My go-to pair of earbuds are the JBL Tour Pro 3, and they also have oval shaped ear tips.

The Bose QC Ultra earbuds have the best ANC on the market for earbuds, they’re measurably the best. The JBL Tour Pro 3 are a close second followed by the AirPods Pro 2 and Sony WF-1000XM5 tied for 3rd. If ANC is your sole focus, the Bose QC Ultra earbuds are it. But they’re buggy, have connectivity issues, their battery life is on the lower side, and they have bugs that will require you put them back in their case, close the lid for 30-60 seconds, then take them out again. If you don’t want to deal with that and are interested in getting ~2 more hours of battery life, get the JBL Tour Pro 3 and use their foam tips. If you have an iPhone, the AirPods Pro 2 are also great as they’ll have more features and solid connectivity to your source device.

The JBL Tour Pro 3 or any number of true wireless earbuds. These are exactly the same as the Beoplay EX, they even say that on the inside of them. I’d take out the Technics, Sony, and Samsung if ANC is your focus. Their ANC levels are all mid-tier, at most. If you have an iPhone, I’d also add the AirPods Pro 2 to your list. I also suggest adding the JBL Tour Pro 3. In terms of ANC, it goes Bose, JBL, then Sony/Apple. Some argue that the Jabra Elite 10 version 2 have the best ANC, but they let in sounds that were cancelled out by both the Bose QC Ultra (there is no such thing as the Bose QC Ultra 3 earbuds) and JBL Tour Pro 3. If you don’t want to deal with bugs and can take a small, nearly unnoticeable hit in ANC, get the JBL Tour Pro 3. If all you want is ANC and you’re ok with bugs, the Bose QC Ultra earbuds are it.

Your current earbuds have the best ANC on the market. They’re buggy as all hell, but you aren’t going to find earbuds with better ANC. The AirPods Pro 2, Sony WF-10005, and JBL Tour Pro 3 all have competitive ANC with Bose, but Bose still has the best. The AirPods Pro 2 will provide a more solid experience if you’re using an iPhone. The Sony will have ANC a notch below Bose. But they do get a couple extra hours of use, their charging case is small and supports Qi charging, and I think their sound quality is better than Bose. I have the JBL Tour Pro 3. When music is playing, I can’t hear anything. Better audio quality than Bose and longer battery life (the same as Sony). Their charging case is large, but at least it has Qi charging and can act as an audio source for the earbuds. The touchscreen seems like a gimmick, but I actually use it from time to time instead of relying on the JBL app (which is a little slow but worlds better than Bose’s buggy app). I will never buy Bose earbuds again. I went through 5-6 pairs of QC earbuds 1, the same number of QC earbuds 2, and 4 pairs of QC Ultra. I just kept exchanging them for connectivity issues (Android and iOS), buzzing in the left ear on the Ultras, needing to factory reset the 2 and Ultras (which means plugging them into a USB power source), and overall just terrible experiences. I had the Sony WF-1000XM5, but their hybrid foam/rubber ear tips weren’t my favorite. Then I received a pair of JBL Tour Pro 3 and kept them because of their sound quality (I can get booming bass without distortion, unlike with Bose), competitive ANC, and having damn near every feature under the sun. The only thing you can’t do is control audio playback and adjust volume directly with the earbuds. But their case, my Apple Watch, or my iPhone can handle that.

The Method 360 have less ANC than the QC Ultra. I wouldn’t get the QC earbuds II, they were far too buggy to purchase and Bose has been swapping them out with QC Ultras for customers. If ANC is your top focus, it’s going to be the QC Ultra earbuds or the JBL Tour Pro 3, they both have the top ANC on the market with the Pro 3 coming in second to Bose. The QC Ultra earbuds are buggy, but they’re have the best ANC.

Don’t get the Bose QC Ultra. Their sound quality is bass-heavy and they have severe connectivity issues and bugs. I’d also throw another pair in there to consider: the JBL Tour Pro 3. I’d go with those over both Sennheiser and Technics. I wasn’t a fan of either, mainly the fit and lack of ANC with the Sennheiser and the overall sound quality and lack of ANC with the Technics. I think tbt Tour Pro 3 walk the line the best between having ANC that is better than Sony and right up there with Bose along with audio quality that can be as accurate or fun as you want with EQ’ing. They don’t sound great out of the box, but neither do any of the other true wireless earbuds. They all require EQ’ing.

I’d stay away from Bose. They’re far too buggy for their price. The Sony might have fit issues and they’re likely going to be updated in the next 3-4 months. I also wouldn’t recommend the Jabra because they’ve exited the earbud market and have sold out on their website. Any remaining stock is all that’s left. Honestly, my personal favorite are the JBL Tour Pro 3. ANC similar to the Bose QC Ultra, better sound quality, longer battery life, and a ton of features. They’re fine out of the box, but really shine with an EQ that’s easy to setup unless one of the JBL presets works for you. You can even adjust their EQ and other options using the case directly. It’s chunky, but I’ve used the touchscreen more than I thought I would and it has more features over something like Bose’s chunky case for their QC Ultra earbuds. Multi-point is solid and you can switch between devices using their app or case, connectivity has been solid for me, and they’re just an all around solid pair of earbuds. They come with multiple ear tip sizes and, if the rubber ones don’t fit, the foam ones likely will and I prefer them over Sony’s hybrid foam ear tips. I think the JBL Tour Pro 3 are vastly underrated while anything from Technics gets a ride on the hype train in this sub.

I don’t recommend a regular pair of Bluetooth earbuds. Their delay is still too much, especially in Windows, for gaming. I tried a pair with aptX LL using a Bluetooth dongle on my Windows desktop and handheld, both still had too much delay that it took me out of the games. Get something with a 2.4GHz adapter. The SteelSeries Arctics aren’t bad, JBL has a couple of pairs, I wouldn’t get anything Razer just because they’re charging more for their name, Soundcore has a pair… Or you could spend even less on a nice pair of IEMs and go wired. Get one with an in-line microphone and you’ll have zero latency, solid mic quality, and audio quality that’s better than a pair of true wireless earbuds. Edit: the other thing you can do, if you’re fine with spending money, is get something like the JBL Tour Pro 3. I use mine with my ROG Ally X and desktop all the time, I can’t believe I forgot about them. I don’t directly pair them to my devices. The charging case acts as a low latency audio source for the earbuds. I plug the case in via USB C to my systems and select it as the audio output in Windows (and the microphone input). I haven’t experienced any latency or microphone issues when using the case the connect to the earbuds. It’s a solid experience if you also want a great pair of ANC earbuds for general usage.

You may want to hold off on the XM5, the XM6 earbuds are likely around the corner and, if the headphones are any indication, the earbuds will be an upgrade. People will recommend earbuds, but it depends on your phone and what features you want. If durability is what you’re after, I don’t recommend the XM5. Their ear tips will need regular replacement because they’re a foam hybrid and their ANC isn’t great without them. I also don’t recommend anything from Technics, I think they’re overrated for mediocre ANC performance and a sound signature I just can’t tune to my liking. I prefer the JBL Tour Pro 3. ANC better than Sony and close to Bose, you can tune them to be as accurate or fun as you want, and they have the most features.

I think they overrated. I could get an EQ I liked and, for their price, the ANC should be better than $40 earbuds from Soundcore. I will sue in this hill, and the other hill that the JBL Tour Pro 3 are criminally underrated. Their ANC matches Apple and Sony while being close to Bose, audio quality is great and can range from balanced (fitting the Harman curve, they are a Harman company) to thumping (yet clear) bass, they have a crap ton of features, a constant fit (though YMMV like with all earbuds), a long battery life, and rock solid multipoint Bluetooth connectivity. They’re my favorite true works earbuds and I dint think they’re recommended or looked at enough simply because they’re made by JBL. Slap Bose, Sony, or Apple on there ABs they would be recommended without hesitation.

They have terrible call quality for their price and connectivity is bad. The Pixel 7 series has notorious Bluetooth connectivity issues. Add in Bose’s flaky Bluetooth and it makes for a terrible experience. There’s nothing you can do about either issue. Return them and hope that the 2nd gen works out better or go with a different brand. The JBL Tour Pro 3 have better mics (still not the best but better than Bose), ANC that’s a tick behind Bose, much better connectivity, and sound quality you can tune to be as fun or accurate as you want. Except when you look at measurements and compare them to earbuds in the same price range from Sony, JBL, and Bose, their ANC is just b-tier. It’s fine, there are plenty of true wireless earbuds that focus on audio quality (Pi8). But, when I just can’t find what I want out of the audio quality (and they’re using marketing gimmicks for the drivers), I’m going to point out how bad the ANC is for the price. The AirPods Pro 2 you mention have an MSRP $50 less than the Technics and are often on sale for $170, almost half of what the Technics usually go for.

The JBL Tour Pro 3 have the same ANC with foam or regular ear tips. Even with Sony relying on their hybrid foam ease tips, it’s still better than the Technics and they typically cost less. My main point was that the Tour Pro 3 don’t need the foam ear tips to have excellent ANC. Foam ear tips will almost always result in better passive isolation, which will almost always lead to better ANC (unless the ANC or sound isn’t tuned for that, like with Bose earbuds).

Don’t get the QC Ultra headphones for exercising. They don’t have an IP rating, sweat will be absorbed into their headband and ear pads, and any sweat on the drivers, in a microphone hole, or the USB C port will cause damage. The last thing you want to do is spend $400 on stinky, ruined headphones. I know people do it and you see people in the gym with even more expensive headphones. Don’t do it. If you truly want on or over ear headphones for exercising, get a pair that’s IP rated. JBL makes one under the Projekt Rock brand, Raycon makes a pair, and so does Skullcandy. Earbuds are going to be a much better bet. But I don’t recommend the QC Ultra earbuds either. They produce an audible thudding sound while running and the only way to avoid that is turning on transparency mode. Plus, the QC Ultra earbuds are some of the buggiest earbuds I have ever used and not worth their price (even when on sale). They’re comfortable and have the best ANC for earbuds. But they have connectivity issues (especially in areas where there are other 2.4GHz devices) and often bug out with one earbud completely disconnecting, requiring that you put them back in their case and sometimes completely factory resetting them. JBL’s Tour Pro 3 are all around better earbuds. Slightly less ANC, but better audio quality and more features. Their charging case is also large, but it has Qi charging and more features. ANC is still above and beyond the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro you have. Or you could spend less and just get a pair of earbuds with decent ANC, solid isolation, but an even more stable fit. Something with a wing tip like the new JBL Endurance Race 2 or ear hooks like the Soundcore Sport X20.

The Denon are often on sale for $100. Their audio quality is excellent after taking their test, but their build quality is average and their ANC is terrible. The AirPods Pro 2 will have much better ANC and features (when paired to an iPhone), they usually sell for $170. I’d stay away from the PowerBeats Pro 2. People thought they’d be the AirPods Pro 2 in sport form but they aren’t. Their audio quality is worse, so is their ANC. Apple held them back to make the AirPods Pro 2 their flagship audio device despite them being the same (same Bluetooth and audio chip, even the same drivers). I’d hold off on any purchases until things go on sale even more. For $170, the AirPods Pro 2 are going to be all around better earbuds than the Denon even when they’re on sale for $100. Audio quality will be less than the Denon, but the AirPods Pro 2 still offer solid audio quality. If you increase your budget to $250, the JBL Tour Pro 3 would also be a solid option. ANC that’s better than Apple, audio quality that’s as fun or neutral as you want, and a big case with tons of features. There’s also the Sony WF-1000XM5, which are in your budget now. Their ANC is about the same as Apple when you use their foam:rubber hybrid ear tips. But they excel when listening to hard rock and metal, plus they also have a ton of features regardless of platform (Android or iOS).

If you don’t have an iPhone don’t get the AirPods Pro 2. They sound their best on iPhone and you lose all of the features on other os (other than trans/anc). I’d say Sony xm5, technics az80/az100, jbl tour pro 3 and Samsung buds pro 3 are probably the most reliable. If you have an iPhone AirPods Pro 2 are a no brainer, and they sound quite good in a safe allrounder way.

Because there is no objective data proving otherwise yet. So as of now, the Tour Pro 3 are the best TWS. But subjectively, I didn’t find the AZ100’s sound all that great. Quite veiled sounding. Will be waiting for objective data to be published from Sound Guys or RTINGs.

The JBL’s are better than all 3 of those in sound, ANC and overall feature set. As for putting a number on the increase in superiority, I’d say if you want to know you have what is objectively the best TWS you can buy at the moment, it’s worth the extra $100. You can find them for $250 on some retailers. So it’s really only an extra $50.

I go by the overall rating. The Tour Pro 3 has a higher overall rating than the XM5. I am sure once the AZ100 is reviewed by Sound Guys, you will see that their frequency response is far off from ideal.

Best ANC are the Bose Quietcomfort Ultras, but that's their main benefit, there are earbuds that do other things better. These were recommended to me so I'm getting them tomorrow and I think they work here too, the JBL Tour Pro 3s. They're more than great at everything, ANC (very close to Bose), sound (maybe top 3-5 of earbuds out right now), fit, versatility (they're IP55 so good for working out too), and customization. The earbud controls are pretty average but functional. You pay for all that though, $300. Most expensive earbuds I've bought, almost double than my last two pairs.

The Tour Pro 3 sounds better than the AZ100 in my opinion but with an EQ to boost the mids a bit. The soundstage is incredible. Both compete for the best sounding earbuds though, so it's personal preference. Also it's also a much more complete package. The ANC is phenomenal (I imagine the best of these three but I'm not familiar with the Huaweis) and with the right eartips the fit is perfect. They have my vote here but honestly you cannot go wrong at all with any of these.

Yes there's a difference. I have the Technics AZ100's and the JBL Tour Pro 3 which both retail at $299. The Technics are the best I've ever heard but remember sound is subjective to the listener and their ears. Your ears might be fine with Apple Airpods Pro 2. Some really love it and some call it trash. I find the APP2 good, but the Technics AZ100's definitely better.

I really don't think the TP3's give up anything in sound quality to the AZ100s. Bass rendering is DIFFERENT but down to personal preference, and the TP3s are more dynamic in the upper ranges. For musicality I like the Pi8s better but for all around use, office/gym/calls... the TP3s are my favorite set on the market right now.

I don't see a huge difference in soundstage between the two... Pi8s beat them both for me, but they're all solid. JBL app has hands down the best EQ of any I've seen and overall they have a crazy comprehensive feature set. Case transmitter/receiver is a game changer also. I use them plugged in even when I'm just doing calls, the connectivity is so much cleaner than BT.

AirPod Pros are an appliance. They are an outstanding headset to keep you connected to your Apple devices all day long. They let your phone do things like read texts and notifications to you automatically. They have a transparency mode that is fucking MAGICAL. They even sound… OK. I’m perfectly happy that I spent $120 for an open box set and I use mine when I’m working. But if you’re looking for one pair to rule them all, and you love music, I think you’d be disappointed with them. To me they sound highly compressed, like they elevate all the sound so you don’t miss anything during the quiet parts but then they have zero headroom to bring the noise when the music picks up. If you have a song where you think “just wait for it, this is where it gets good!” … It just won’t. It’s like everything is at medium energy and has zero dynamics. I also find that even with the best aftermarket tips I can find, they just spontaneously jump out of my ears. I’d never run with them. For musicality, the Sony XM5 are better but not stellar. They fall out of my ears too. The AZ100 are a big step up and bring energy but still remain mellow in their sound signature. The JBL TP3 to me are the closest to bringing all the feature set of AirPods Pro and more, while bringing a big crystal clear powerful and energetic voice to the party. Both of these seem to fit me very securely and I’ve run with both of them. They have good ANC and reasonably good transparency. The JBLs are my faves right now, but I go back and forth. If you don’t give a shit about any of the other features -then wait for a sale on the B&W Pi8, they sound incredible for music and nothing else works well on them most days.

My one complaint is that the case is pretty big compared to AirPods, Sonys, or the Technics. BUT it can also be plugged into any usb-c or headphone port and act as a lossless transmitter, so if you travel or have any legacy devices or like to game without Bluetooth lag, the case can also be a plus.

They have good vocal separation because of the multi driver. Their max volume isn't very high and I don't find their bass to be super dynamic (I mostly listen to metal/hard rock so I mean bass as it applies to those genres). For pure sound quality, of the 3 sets I own, I'd go gemini 2>denon perl pro>>>tour pro 3, but the tp3 are probably the best "all 'rounder" set of the 3 due to how much better their battery life is, best anc of the 3, best app, plus the other more niche dongle/auracast type features.

I did buy a couple pair of those spinfit omni tips that get mentioned here a lot for them. It wasn't specifically a denon fit issue, my right ear for some reason doesn't do well with a lot of buds, including the JBLs I got today where I had to use the foam tips to get their app to acknowledge I had a good enough right side seal to take their app hearing personalization. I will say about a month ago, I slipped on some black ice while running and ate it pretty good when I fell, bad enough to walk instead of run the rest of the way home, and the denons didn't budge during the fall

Honestly, I've resorted to using Shokz OpenComm2 with a boom mic for phone calls set to "calls" only in BT settings and using my preferred earbuds set to "media" only in BT settings. Not ideal but guarantees good audio quality for people on the other end of the phone call/meeting.
