total silence from earbuds isn’t a thing. voices still poke through. generally over-ears or foam plugs with a little white noise does the trick. for cheap buds that don’t suck, my personal recc is [these jlab buds](https://best.opinionativereviewer.com/jDdv). they seal well, the app lets you tone down the boominess and anc does a respectable job even with no music imo. in case you don’t have a budget, bose or sony over-ears are the way to go-their qc/xm stuff is kind of the gold standard. you'll find their reviews everywhere on this sub

So, I think that you're looking for earbuds, not IEMs. An IEM is typically a wired in ear device that is dedicated to listening. They do have wireless IEMs, but they are rare and don't do phone calls. That said, it seems that your girlfriend wants a "bean" style earbud. If she wants to sleep with them and presumably use the ANC then she'll want ones with at least 7 to 8 hours of battery life with ANC on. That's not easy to find at this price point, but you could look into the Jbuds ANC3 or the Roseselsa Ceramics Ultra. The Jbuds claim 7.5 hours of battery with ANC on. The Roseselsas claim 11 hours but don't specify if that's with ANC on. I'd assume that would be with ANC off. I would guess that they would still do the same or better than the Jbuds with ANC enabled. Personally I'd go for the Ceramics Ultra because it has higher specs like Bluetooth 6.0 and hi res audio support through LDAC and LHDC codecs. It's also less than $50.

The Earfun Air Pro 4 is one of the best options at 75 USD. I have the JLab Jbuds ANC 3. The ANC reduces noise by about 20%, but my ANC headphones are much better.

It has good noise blocking too because of the good seal. I have the JLab Jbuds ANC 3 too: good value

As Bukhrin stated the Sony c510 are really nice. That stinks on the pods anc. The Jbuds ANC 3 has been out longer. It seems many companies release earbuds before they solve the glitch issues.

I liked the Sony c510 that I got in January. No anc but does include ambient mode and a good app. I like some the Jlab Jbuds line (their medium tier). I am using the Jbuds ANC3 that has anc that is easy to turn off. The Jlab Jbuds Air Pro has no anc, just ambient mode.

When you up your budget to 50, the choices are much better. 1. Sony c510 2. Earfun Air 2 3. Jlab Jbuds ANC3 4. Soundcore p30 5. JBL Beam I use both the Jlab and the Sony c510 fairly often. I would likely lean Sony. I just have not tried the Moondrop, but I know people like it.

Sony c510 or JLab Jbuds ANC 3 are both good. I use both. I would maybe lean Sony because the JLab once in a while does not disconnect when out in the case.

I found the same with c510. They are quite small. I saw a Sony display case at Best Buy USA. The 710 and 510 both are smaller than the premium buds by Sony. The JLab Jbuds ANC 3. It is a bit smaller than Sony. I like the JLab Jbuds line: their medium tier. Sound quality is 👍

I buy a good number of $50.00 earbuds. I have liked the Sony c510, Jlab Jbuds anc 3, and Earfun Air 2. These are all great. I have really liked the Earfun that I picked up last week. The Cmf buds 2 or buds 2 plus are good too. I saw the Jlab Jbuds Air Pro is 35.00 on amazon this week.

Sony c 510 is solid. Earfun Air 4 or Air 2 are good, but they have a stem. Jlab Jbuds ANC 3 is solid.

I do have the Jlab Jbuds ANC 3. It fits my ear pretty well it is pretty small (Jbuds Mini is even smaller). I really did like the Sony xm55ap wired earbud. So, I think the jlab is a good one. I also like the Sony c510. It is pretty small, and I get a great seal if I give each earbud a small twist. It seems comfortable to me.

If you don't need ANC, I like the Earfun Air 2 non ANC. They have an ANC version that is only about 50. The Earfun Air Pro 4 is a good budget flag ship. I also like the Sony c 510 without ANC. I also have the JLab Jbuds ANC 3. All 3 are good. The Sony is maybe the best with no issues. It never has a connection issue. Others are not bad, but sometimes they don't connect immediately. Earfun sounds very good.

I have all of these that I purchased over 18 months. * Jlab Jbuds ANC 3 * Sony c510 * Earfun Air 2. All 3 are good. The Jlab ANC does have anc, but it is not super strong. I just bought the Earfun last week (I had an older earbud from them Air). It really has fairly impressive clean bassy sound. A couple people posted last week about the Soundcore p30i. It sounded like a good value. It seems to sound good if you download the app try different eqs that are in the app. It just doesn't sound great out of the box. I have a couple sets of the Jlab Go Air Pop. They sound really good for $20, but the ones above will sound a little be better in the range of 35-55.

The Sony c710 is worth a try. I did see that Best Buy usa had about 20 dollars off. I have really liked the c510 but no anc. The Soundcore has a good rep on the A40. I have really liked Earfun as well. The Earfun Air Pro 4 or 4 plus are good models. I have the Air 2 that sounds very good. Pro 4 supposedly sounds similar maybe .2 of 10 better than the Air 2. The Jlab Jbuds, medium tier are good too. I have liked the Jbuds Anc 3. The anc seems pretty good, but it is not as good as the Sony x mark series or Bose. For me, the anc sounds better than when I bought them. I think that maybe I just do a better job of getting a seal (I do half counter clockwise turn to get a seal).

I don't do it every night, but the Jlab Cylinder earbuds like Go Air Pop, Jbuds Mini, Jbuds anc 3 are solid. It works well side sleeping. I sometimes put on Pluto TV with an old school show like Star Trek or Perry Mason.

These are really nice. Super comfortable because of compact size.

I am a fan of cheap earbuds. Here are some of my favs cheapest being first. Jlab Go Air Pop, Earfun Free 2s, Earfun Air 2, Jlab ANC 3, Sony c510, Earfun Air Pro 4. At99, One Plus 3 or Nothing a.

Did not know how much you wanted to spend. I have liked the Sony c510 or Jlab Anc 3. Sony has no ANC and Jlab is basically c+ on ANC, but the sound is good and even better with the Wavelet eqs available for these 2 earbuds. Nothing 2024 and Earfun Air Pro 4 and One Plus 3 are good items too.

They are reasonably priced, and they all are small cylinder earbuds. The sound is good for the price with good battery life. OP wanted something for kids under 16. If these get misplaced it is less of a bad deal. The Jbuds line is their medium line. It includes the Jbuds mini. They have a bit better sound quality. So, something like the JLab Jbuds ANC is really good from 40 to 55. Edited for typos

People like the Soundcore X10 or X20. I have liked the jlab earbuds. Their sport models seem decent. The Jlab Jbuds line is their medium tier. They seem worth a bit extra for me, but the Go buds are usually a really good value for less.

The JLab is reasonable and always gets at least 7 hours on a charge. JLab Go Pop is a good cheap one .The JLab Jbuds line has better sound quality for $50. Earfun has good battery life too. I bought Earfun Air 2 recently. 👍

The Earfun earbuds are pretty good. I picked up the Earfun Air 2 last summer. It really holds its own with the Sony c510. Both are not super premium, but they are hard to beat for $50.00. I sometimes lose earbuds and took a pass on the $200.00 models. Same goes for the Jlab Jbuds line. The usually cost 45-59, but the sound better then most of the earbuds available for 40 or less.

Sony c 510 or JLab Jbuds or Go series. Jbuds are my medium tier and sound a bit better.

Sony c510 or Sonyc710 are safe bets that are in stock. The Jlab line is pretty good. Jlab Jbuds is their medium tier that punch way above their weight. The Jlab Go Air Pop+ is solid for $25.00.

I got the jlab ANC 3 for 60 bucks and I can't hear a thing outside of my music.

Jlab ANC 3. $60 can't hear a thing from the outside world. The sound quality is really good but sounds just a little tinny but it does the job very well and like I said before I can't hear anybody talking even at half volume.

Ok, for some reason I cant make actual posts, so here: I am in need of Bluetooth earbuds that are only PARTIALLY wired. For example, Jlab JBuds Bluetooth Earbuds. The problem is, I have used earbuds such as the one above before. I tried everything under the sun, JLab, Skull Candy, Sony, etc etc and for the life of me I can't find one that lasts more than 6 months to a year. All of the ones I have used thus far, which I got from these brands and more, I brought because people have said they lasted 5 years+. I would even say 90% of these people said they still used them. For whatever cursed reason, mine never last past 6 months, meaning on ear bud goes out. The one time I tried to keept it, the sound was completelygone after a year. I am tired, and I am broken 😫. I can't get the completely wireless ones because they will slip and fall out my ear and I will 1000000% lose them. Can someone pleeeeeease give me a reputable brand, preferably a brand they have brought in the past 5-6 years. I feel like when I first brought them, the newer brands had just started to get shitty, but now that we're in 2026, anyone who has had them for 3-6 years would have started buying them when I started buying them so we're dealing with the same level of crappiness. Any advice would help!

get noise cancelling as a feature. touch controls, too, unless you can do it from your watch. I have soundcores and they work great. I have the over the ear style of earbuds, so I don't have to worry about them falling out during jumping jacks or burpees. jbuds I tried and personally, couldn't keep them in my ears, even trying all the sizes of tips. they seemed very top heavy to me, they had great touch control, though.

I will warn you the highest end ones we offer (epic) are more bulky than the go and jbuds. I grabbed all 3 pairs and it looks like (height wise) go is 14.5mm, jbuds is 16mm, and epic is 18mm. I found the epic sport earbuds to be too bulky to use in my helmet for skiing, not sure if motorcycling helmets have any more clearance though.

I think so. I have two pairs, the ANC and the Standard and I love both of them. ANC is a nice little boost for sound insulation but it's not HUGELY different if the price point is a concern.
