Got these last year, they block out the sound of impact guns, and even blocks out the sound when I drop my pry bars on the floor. Terrible for making calls during work though, the person you're talking to will be able to hear everything you're doing. Air pods are better for that. But otherwise I do love them for work
I have the Beats and the Milwaukee and my son has Air Pods. I have tried them all 3 and no the Beats and Air pods are not as good for hearing protection as the Milwaukee. Don’t get me wrong the Beats and Apple are way better at other things than the Milwaukee but not hearing protection. The Milwaukee have foam tips with them that roll up and you insert in your ear just like ear plugs. I tried them all 3 on a weekend day on my tractor and the Milwaukee were better hearing protection by a lot. I also took them all 3 to work and used them in a chiller room all day. The Milwaukee were better for hearing protection. Not to mention most job sites don’t allow the use of ear buds. I have been asked about the. Milwaukee by safety people and when I remove them and show them the foam ear plug tips they seem interested in them and say they are fine where as I have seen them make other people remove their pods and use ear plugs. These were for job sites not just the average person that wants pods. I keep my Milwaukee paired to my work phone for use in work in chiller rooms and my Beats connected to my personal phone for everything else because yes they are better for sound, seem less passing off between my phone and iPad and much easier to carry around. I appreciate the size of the Milwaukee case for what they are. They are harder to misplace on a job site and they generally just get tossed in my van and not charged frequently so the extra battery is welcomed plus I usually just swap the battery from my work light if I need and put the light on charge since I have multiple lights anyways.
Mine are so finicky about charging. I have to keep the lid open and placed absolutely perfectly on the prongs for them to charge. The noise cancellation is great but if I could go back in time to stop myself from buying them, I absolutely would.
My biggest gripes are that you can only press play from the right earbud, not the left. Unless there’s a way to reprogram this? I also get metal shavings all in the magnets and I can’t get the earbud to go all the way into the charging slot. My foam ear tips completely disintegrated? I’m not sure if anyone else had this happen but I warrantied them at Home Depot and they’ve been fine since.
Ngl, I got a free pair of Milwaukee jobsite earbuds and they work surprisingly well for noise cancelling, plus you can toggle 2 lvls of jobsite mode that lets a good amount of high frequency in so you can actually hear stuff if you want to. Can't compare them to high quality headphones because I've never tried any, but it's just a suggestion, especially for low budget. They're under $200.
So I’ve had these for close to a year now so I think I can give a honest review on these. First off I love mine and haven’t had an issue out of them yet, the ear pieces are comfy for all day wear if you use the right ones and I can get about 10-11 hours out of them before I have to charge them. For my company Monday we could be weedeating around our shop, Tuesday we could be out doing a demo or construction job, Wednesday we could be welding handrail up. Basically what I’m saying is we do damn near everything and one week isn’t the same as the next and these hold up to everything we do. If the sound assist is turned off all you hear is your music and nothing else, if it’s turned on you hear your music and every thing else around you that’s making a sound. I know it says it has sound dampening abilities for sounds over a certain decibel but let me tell you what it blocks and what it doesn’t; Grinder-doesn’t block out sound, Circular saw/miter saw-doesn’t, screw gun/ drill-doesn’t, any power tool-doesn’t. What it does block out- 12ga, .45, .223. So if you was a set of range ear pro these will work great! But for Jobsite noise cancellation just keep active listening or what ever it’s called turned off that way you don’t hear the equipment running or your coworkers bitching. I do love mine but there’s thing that could have been done better 8/10
I ditched my Sony ear buds for these and I don’t regret it one bit. they promised more with the active listening but I can over look it with how sound dampening they are when it’s turned off
The seal on my pair was amazing when it was brand new. I used them at high altitude while on vacation, closed the case and then traveled home where I'm close to Sea level. I had to use a flat head screwdriver to pry open the lid and break the seal!
I bought them a long while ago. The worked perfectly for my job. However after sometime my right ear bud became quieter and I could barely hear anything on it. And then the same thing happened to my left one after 3 more months of using them. Honestly they're good, wished they last longer though
