Yup, they aren't far, but that 8k peak for the earfun air pro 4 + can be harsh. I owned the moondrop space travel 2 ultra, same tuning as the buds pro 4 but with less air. It has the same level of peaking in 8k which made it sound abrasive I had to equalize to fix it using the moondrop app.
I'm sure earfun air pro 4 + sounds good, but that 8k peak can be a make or break for the earbuds depending on the ear that will listen to it.
Moondrop have excellent budget earbuds. Space Travel 2 Ultra are the pair I've used before with nice results.

I've heard a lot of people enjoy their experience with the P30i and P31i, but I've not used them. Seem like a solid option at that price though.
I think you’re going to get much better bang for your buck from earbuds, though some people don’t like the way they fit and the battery life is generally worse than traditional headphones.
I have a pair of Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo which I bought way back in 2020 for $50, but they are no longer sold.
The Soundcore brand has several models for under $40. I think these would be a safe bet.

I recently bought the Moondrop Space Travel 2 Ultra which I’d read very good things about, but I prefer the old Ankers as they are more fun to listen to as they have more bass. I will keep them but just use them for podcasts when doing housework.
