Buds 2 Pro and Nothing Ear (a) 2024. I use Buds for regular listening and when I want to make use of the anc and ambient features. Nothing Ear is when I'm in the gym (Buds 2 Pro get slippery as hell with sweat) and when I want to listen to bass heavy music. Buds 2 Pro lasts me like 3-4 hours max in ambient mode on single charge plus weirdly the left earbuds drain faster for some reason, while Nothing Ear lasts easily around 5 hours.

They sit in your ears, have silicon eartips to create a seal. You could also buy aftermarket tips for a deeper fit. You would be suprised how good they are.

Ok that's your opinion 👍, 2024 is good with sound personalization, but az100 secret: you need to set 250 band to -2, az 100 is then miles better.. i am currently using az 100 as i am writing , will now switch to 2024 to check it again.

Many people said this when 2024 is set to sound personalization: the sound is good, but in some songs you can hear a hissing noise at certain frequencies.

I'm currently listening to 2024, they're phenomenal, I must say. The sound is very sharp, but the AZ100 gives me a fuller and more rounded sound.

I don’t get why there’s so much polarization and misinformation about wireless earbuds these days. YouTubers have to do their job and push certain narratives because their livelihood depends on it. The point is, false information is being spread. But don’t get me wrong—there were plenty of models released a year or two ago that were cheaper, didn’t have strong marketing, and just disappeared from the market. I get that wireless earbuds aren’t just about sound—they’re also about ANC and other features. But it’s crazy how a model with worse sound quality can show up today and get hyped as the best thing ever, while you’ve got models like the $35 SoundPEATS Engine4 that perform exceptionally well for their price. For example, I tested the Nothing Ear 2024 for a full day against the PI8. Sure, the PI8 might be slightly better in some songs, but we’re talking about less than a 5% difference. In some cases, the Nothing Ears actually sound better. The key is knowing how to tweak your earbuds, like using custom EQ settings or extra bass. I feel like today’s YouTube reviewers are just way too focused on the business side of things. Then you have random people jumping into the conversation with no real knowledge. Yes, the PI8s are top-tier, and so are the Nothing Ear 2024 and Technics, but the Engine4 with memory foam tips sounds almost as good—and it’s only $35! The problem is, YouTubers base their opinions too much on price. That’s where you get the classic “great sound for the price” comment. If a $100 earbud suddenly cost $300, they’d call it the best sound ever. So, trust people with real experience and don’t fall for paid reviews.

Many people have asked me how I set up my Nothing Ear headphones for sound, so here it is: turn Bass Extra off—this is extremely important, it *must* be off. I'm sorry, but it has to be off because it introduces noise. You can adjust the bass later. After that, set the EQ to your preference. One very important thing: do a personal sound test. Turn on Immersion at 15%.  I don’t get it—I have the PI8, Momentum 4, and AZ80, and I can afford to buy headphones. But the point is the sound, and people lie about it.

Agreed. Sound is full and robust. Technically competent, not as detailed as the AZ80s but not too far off. Fit and look is ridiculously lowkey which is darn impressive combined with awesome app features and LDAC compatibility. My GOAT is still the Liberty 3 Pro in terms of overall sound, but i find myself leaning to use the nothings more bc of the fit and convenience of the app.

I have both technics az80 and nothing ear 2024. I believe the nothing ear has crazy value for the asking price. Bass is reaching basshead levels, decent clarity and separation. LDAC availability. Awesome software. Nice modern utalitarian design. My only complaint with them was some harshness and unrefinement on the treble region. There was a time a believe the AZ80s were muddy too. Im glad i didnt return them. I believe their tuning is not for excitement, but for long relaxed listening sessions. They are warm, lush, smooth and intimate. Best mids i ever heard on a tws. Total opposite of the nothing ears. Exciting, engaging, lively but can be thin and lackluster on the "audiophile" areas, which are mids and treble. I listen to some jpop jrock and i understand why you prefer the nothing ears. Jpop is a genre that needs more liveliness. The technics is too thick sounding for that. Ironically, i love listening to black and death metal on my AZ80s. They have a very forgiving nature, in a sense that poor recordings still sound pleasing on them. Both are good in my opinon, just on totally different flavors. Edit: I am lmfao when u said that the nothing transparency is trash. That what makes me not want to use them sometimes. It really is hot garbage lol. Technics transparency is really, really good.

Still Liberty 3 Pro. But Nothing Ear 2024 comes close. Just dont expect the same refined sound from the likes of AZ80s, specially on the treble region.

Now youre saying that, it makes sense why my hear id always try tp reduce treble. But my personal preference is still a sparkly treble. (Hence the love of L3P and AZ80) i just find the treble on these soundpeats not as refined. It makes sense at the price point. I put Earfun Air pro 4 (better soundstage) and Nothing Ear 2024 (almost as good as L3P) a little above this. Liberty 4 pro is released yesterday and now im curious about those.

I dont have a new one. My latest was supposed to be Rex5 but got stuck on processing, so i just decided to refund instead. I have been rotating my tws and realized i preferred a full bodied midrange than a leaner one. Its just a smoother and a more enjoyable experience (leaner sound tends to be more analytical imo, hence i returned my pi8 immediately.) The technics az80 still has more enjoyable sound than them. When i wear them all sibilance is gone, and i just focus on feeling the music instead of analyzing microdetails. Another one of my favorites are the nothing ear 2024. After sound personalization, the sound profile opens up. It has tactile bass and has one of the grittiest electric guitars i have heard (even compared to iems). My only problem with them was they never fail to hurt my concha after some time. I have smaller ears so i accepted my fate.

I can help with that, I own the AirPods and the Ears. TLDR is that whilst it doesn't have as good of ANC and Transparency as the AirPods, it shines in the fact that it sounds substantially better vs the Pro 2s, based on what I've read in the review and from my own experience. Legitimately sounds excellent from bass all the way to the highs, crispy clear and enjoyable sound signature + the amount of customization that you can put into the sound drives it even further. For roughly 110 USD less, I believe it's a bargain if you're comparing it to the APP2s.

If you can splurge out a little more $, go for the Nothing Ear (2024). Sounds amazing, infinite customization with EQ, ANC is pretty decent tbh only struggles in some harsh edge cases (like most sub-200 USD earbuds). But between the two, I'd lean towards the Nothing Ear (a). It sounds really really good even though some people say ANC is only passable.

My ears are a little over 4cm from top to bottom and I find they are more comfortable than pretty much every other earbud I've owned. Nothing Ears 2024 are also pretty good, galaxy buds2 pro were not great, jaybirds were never going to work but I tried, a bunch of generic brands were meh. That said, ears are all shaped differently, as tiny ears people we both know to buy from places like Amazon where they have generous returns for change of mind, and also you don't have to feel bad for doing something that harms the business of a billionaire. So do that and see if these are good or bad for you.

Airpods seem to balance all the main features offered by other top end earbuds better than anyone. However, that also means they are the not the best in anyone particular category. There are earbuds that offer better sound, better noise cancelling or have more features. I had the Airpod Pro 1 for many years. I recently just moved away from them and I am now using the Nothing Ear (2024). For me I was looking for the best sound quality. The Nothing Ear have incredible sound quality and the also have the ability to change sounds with the custom equalizer. The noise cancelling is ok, but not great. I have not really used transparency much, but it did not review really high. The Bose QC Ultra earbuds that you mentioned always seem to be the top earbuds reviewed for people that want noise cancelling. Bose always does a great job at producing high quality sound. Their only drawback for me is the price (its a little out of my range). I am in the Apple Ecosystem, I have a Macbook, iPad, and iPhone. So I really wanted to stay with the Airpods, but I didn't want to buy the 2nd gen just to see the 3rd gen come out and be disappointed. I had every intention to buy the 3rd generation Pro's but when they did not come out last year I decided to look for something else. I don't regret not getting the Airpods. I am getting exactly what I wanted with the high quality sound. They pair up with my Apple products with no problems. If noise cancelling is your main priority there are other products that will work great especially the Bose earbuds that you mentioned. Hopefully you enjoy the buds that you select.

I was just doing this same research. For reference, I have the JBL Live Pro 2s, Soundscore Liberty 4 NCs & Bose over the ears. I just returned the Sennheiser MTW4s and using/testing the Nothing Ear (2024)s now. If you want deep base, I'd go with the new JBLs (Tour 3s) or the Nothing Ears. The Senny's didn't have the bass I wanted. Yes, they do have bass and they sound amazing, but I'm a basshead & the Nothing's deliver in spades. Same for the JBLs. I still use my Live Pro 2s regularly and they compare to the Nothing's for that full rich sub bass.

I suspect both will be good. I ended up keeping the Nothing Ear (2024)s and they've been my daily buds for the last 2 weeks, but I still test against my JBL Live Pro 2s so I'll use that for comparison. I suspect, if you're going to look at the JBL Tour 3s, they're the best of all 3 sets. To me, the gym requirement is decent noise cancelation. ANC on both is good and it seems about the same to me. Nothing will block out clanking plates I don't think. For running, the requirement is fit. For my ears, I got decent fit with the stock tips for the Nothing & great fit with the stock tops for the JBLs. I'm currently using the OmniSpin fits in the Nothings and they're better, but have some Comply foam tips on the way. I prefer to turn it a notch at the gym, and listen to very bass heavy music. The Nothing's beat out JBL here, but not by much. I think the JBL is criminally underrated when it comes to the low end sound. I hear people rave about Technics & Sennheiser, but they also seem be to dorky sound engineers obsessing about the perfect curve. I'm not that guy. I know what I like and it's bass. Nothing wins here, but doubt you'd be disappointed with the JBLs either.

You're missing arguably the best set for call quality, Nothing Ear (2024). Solid music sound quality as well with one of the more advanced EQs on the market in the app. Overall ANC is average and transparency is total crap, but if your focus is call quality (and both ends) and music, it's one of the best options.

Among the ones you listed here, the Bose will blow you away. However, I recently switched from my Bose QC Ultra to the Nothing Ear 2024—they are better in every way except ANC imo. But staying on topic, I also have the Ultra and M4 over ear headphones and have had way more problems with the M4’s than I have had with both of my Bose headphones+earbuds combined. I haven’t had any connection or hardware issues with my QC Ultra earbuds aside from accidentally poking a hole in one of the dust filters while cleaning it, I think that part is made very fragile. The one thing that is annoying to me are the swipe controls, I am just not a fan. In the gym I will sometimes brush against them with my shoulder and it will pause the music, make a loud thud from impact, or turn up/down the volume. Sound wise, the bass of the Bose absolutely blows away my AirPods Pro’s 2, since getting them about 6 months ago I have not once ever reached for the AP2’s again, they’re just so outclassed by the Bose. My primary music genre is EDM / dubstep though, so I do enjoy a more bass heavy sound.

I don't know what priorities you have, but if the buds 3 pro is cheaper than the nothing where you live there is no contest in my opinion. It is a much more well rounded pair, with better anc and hearthrough. Would only choose nothing if you really like the design, want advanced eq or want multipoint and not just pull connection pairing. I have the nothing ear 2024, and the anc is so mediocre. The sound is great tho, and if you like bass there are loads.

Not that bad. Haven't used them in a long while so I thought it'd be a good idea to see how they compared. The TRN BT30 isn't even that good. Fiio makes a better one (UTWS5) it it doesn't have the flexibility on the connectors as the TRN unless you add adapters to it which makes the construct longer and changes how the buds fit in the ears and the security of the band. That said, you'll never AB that stuff and the TWS buds are just fine. And if I was picking one of the three, not caring that much about ANC, I'd probably go the DPP's because the sound was more engaging than the Nothing Ear. But the Nothing Ear are lighter and more comfy to wear. They're the first stalk buds I actually like. Tough to go wrong with either really. Also got them for $65. So at that price point they're a stone cold bargain. I never pay close to retail. Spent too much time in retail to do that.

I use comply sure grip tips for the Samsung buds 2 pro with mine. I wish their case cutout was a little bigger because I'd prefer to have a little bit more of a canal fit but can't fit larger tips and close the case. Wish more mfg's would be less obtuse and realize many use 3rd party tips, and the case cutout shouldn't be the limiting factor to the tips you can actually use. I think they sound a little more detailed than my Sony Xm5's and are a slight step down from my DPP's. Do agree on the app and like how you can fine tune the sound. I go back and forth with the Xm5's and NE24 for the gym. I like the better ANC on the Sony to isolate me from all the people that talk more than they work out. Safe to say the xm5 are my travel buds. I like the NE24 as an easy carry and keep them in my work bag or in a pocket. My DPP live in my gym bag as a backup because they don't isolate as well as the Sony and aren't as portable and comfy as the NE24. The NE24 are the first stalk style buds I can actually live with. Have returned a bunch of pair of stalk buds from the usual suspects. And I've posted a couple times where you can get the Nothing fairly cheap ($55-75). At least in the states.

Sony XM5 will never win a "most comfortable" contest. The most comfortable earbuds are the Jabra Elite 10, and they sound *good* but there are several earbuds with better sound and more hi-res codecs. If money is no object, the Devialet Gemini 2 are very lightweight and comfortable, and are widely considered the best sounding earbuds on the market today. The Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 are growing on me as well: they are comfortable and well made, and sound fantastic, and support some high res codecs like APTX lossless. I still think the Devialet sounds slightly better but my mind changes from track to track. Sennheiser MTW4 and Technics AZ80 are a bit more reasonably priced (though still on the high end of the consumer earbud market). Both are pretty comfortable and sound fantastic. To my ears, the Sennheiser sound a bit better and the Technics are a bit more comfortable. In the under-$200 range, the Nothing Ear (2024) and the OnePlus Buds *Pro* 3 are both very comfortable and sound fantastic. The Nothing supports more high resolution audio codecs but whether this matters depends a lot on what your phone supports.

In sound quality, Nothing Ear 2024 by far. Tried the Denon PerL Pro and the AZ80's but I was shocked when i heard the quality, clarity and bass of the latest Nothing Ear. Anc is weak tho but for me it gets the job done. And the look is badass and unique.

There's a guy on Ebay that sells (open box, like new) Nothing Ear 2024's and Nothing Ear (a)'s. He's out of stock now but he shows up on Ebay every month or 2 and he always has about 10-20 qty in the listings. I bought an open box 2024 white set for $75 and they came in the box with all accessories. Not a scratch or smudge on them and they work perfect. You might want to check ebay off and on for him. His feedback was just about perfect so I rolled the dice and it worked out.

I just got these and bought some other high end tws over the years (APP2, PI8, PI7 S2, etc) These are all around the best buds ive used. I'm astonished how they've gotten them this good at any price, the EQ is nuts, and they respond very well to EQ, the driver is quick and detailed. Comfort, ANC, all features rock. What an achievement.

The design is gorgeous for sure. Sound has come a good way, I also got the PI8 and the Nothing my be better lol... Yeah it's gotten a lot better, i'd say top tws are now equalling $40 or so wired iems, before none could even beat a CHU. My Moondrop May are still noticably better, and my Supermix 4 are another league entirely. BUt these still sound great for on the go.

I'd add nothing ear 2024 as mid range instead of ear(a). It's £120 but often drops to £100 on Amazon and sounds very good indeed, plus features and case are awesome. I've owned most of the big guys including the recent PI8, and the nothing ears are up there

Great review, thank you. I've had these for a few weeks now, sound quality is amazing, and the best app I think I've used for any headphones. However. How are you finding wind noise? I mostly live in a hot country, and hate AC. I've had to reposition my fan away from blowing towards my face to make them usable at work... Maybe it's just mine/a firmware thing?

Currently trying to decide between Denon perl pro and soundcore liberty 4 pro. These are to replace the AZ100s, which for the money I wasn't that impressed with. The app for the soundcore is definitely better, and the sound quality on both is extremely good. I do like the personalised sound profile on the denon's and it equalises the music to how I enjoy my music. I also have the Nothing Ear (2024) and the sound quality is excellent, but unfortunately don't get loud enough for my liking. I've also had the Melomania M100s and I struggled to get the music to sound how I liked it. I also returned the OnePlus buds pro for the same reason.

The Gen 1 has a better sound quality than the Nothing Ear 2024. The good thing about the Nothing Ear is that they sound really good and are cheaper than most premium earbuds. But they are still mid-range earbuds. They don't sound better than the Sennheisers or Technics. They're a good compromise if you don't wanna spend the money on premium earbuds.

Of course cheaper earbuds can be better than expensive ones. They can be better as an all-rounder but most won't be better sound wise. I'll put my Oneplus Buds 3 against almost any expensive earbud because they're hard to beat as an all-rounder. Right now the best earbuds at $150 are the Oneplus Buds Pro 3 and the Nothing ear (2024).

Exactly! If you have $500 to spend on earbuds, get more than one earbud. Gym earbuds should be super loud with bass and cheap. Example: $50 Tozos and $150 for Nothing ear (2024).

Nice review. I have these and mostly really like them except for one issue that could be a dealbreaker for some: I need larger 3rd-party tips than provided, to get a good seal/proper bass. But the charging case does not accommodate the ones I prefer. I used some others that barely fit if I smoosh it shut, but this isn’t great; presumably over time this may damage the tips and/or the case.

I don‘t have a lot of comparisons to make but I just got the Nothings recently and like them. They sound fairly similar to my old Sony WF-1000XM4’s and were significantly cheaper, and yeah the pinch control is one reason I chose them (avoids accidental triggering of controls). Plus I’m a sucker for the 90s-Designers’-Republic-style aesthetics on them.

They're really pretty great otherwise in sound/function/aesthetics, but that can be a def. dealbreaker for many. I've got the largest 3rd party tips that I can kinda squish the case closed on but that's not ideal, because eventually it will ruin either the case and/or the tips and TBH I'd actually like tips that are slightly even larger than these, and so I don't reach for these as often as my Sonys (which accommodate the XL silicone tips I like).

I have the same but white and i cant say im very impressed at all. ANC os ok at best. Soundquality even when you fidget the equalizer to perfection is mid-good but not great. Battery life is good. Calls can range from bad to good. The touch sensitivity on there earbuds stems is horrible. Sometime i try to paus 10 time before it registers as a click and yes, i do know where and how to click it. They are by all accounts decent earbuds for their price range but a 9.5/10 leaves very little room for the 20-something earbuds that outperform them.

Got the Nothing ears did the seal test and hearing test and set the equalizer with enhanced bass and god damn these are amazing.. crushes the soundcore liberty 4 not even close and compared to my cheap soundcore p40i these are better with clean deep bass and mids and highs do not get drowned out.. really great buds.. but it made me still appreciate my p40i because they’re not that far off if you tinker with equalizer and also do the hearing test.. but as much as you tinker with it on p40i these Nothing Ear still beat them.. but in a budget p40i are $50 are really good.. the Nothing Ears are very comfortable ..p40i do give ear fatigue after long time of wear.. that’s what the Liberty 4’s have going for them but sound quality like I said are mid range. But I’m really pleased with these just worried about pinching controls and how that’ll hold up!! But I would strongly recommend to people for sure!!

The only issue for me is with the last Firmware is it lets some ambient in when in ANC mode most of the time not 100% of the time (seems random). This is a known issue and some reported uneven battery for L+R after that same update but mine are bang on the same and die within 1min (at most) of each other and have since new. I use them via LHDC up to 24/192k on my phpne and LDAC on PC, PIA you need to enable the Hi-Res Codecs and reboot to switch between each of them and not have both enabled at same time. This will give you basically the same App for Windows. Yea the AKG N5 Hybrid is somewhat of a sleeper pair right now. They’re pretty new and not yet released in many markets. They are available in some Asian markets, for example. You can find ‘em on AccessoryJack though. This is a Hong Kong reseller which ships around the world. I see other sources online too. I wouldn’t pay more than $300-$350 (USD). I bet they’ll be less than $300 if/ when they come to the US. Harman International owns both JBL and AKG among many other audio related brands. And then Samsung bought Harman International some years back. These are respected audio giants with decades of experience in both consumer and professional markets. JBL is proper quality that isn’t overpriced. They offer solid value and performance per dollar with their latest releases. Samsung’s Galaxy Buds3 Pro is a better all around earbud than the Nothing Ear (2024). In order: **Sound** (IMO) - AKG N5 Hybrid, Nothing Ear (2024), Galaxy Buds3 Pro, JBL Live Beam 3 **ANC** - AKG N5 Hybrid, Galaxy Buds3 Pro, JBL Live Beam 3, Nothing Ear (2024) **Ambient Sound** - Galaxy Buds3 Pro, AKG N5 Hybrid/ JBL Live Beam, Nothing Ear (2024) Keep in mind, I could easily enjoy the audio performance of any of these earbuds. None of them sound “bad” and their level of flexibility for in-app audio tweaking was strongly considered since they’re all tuned well. While Samsung finally introduced a multi band EQ for their latest earbuds, they are the only option from this list that doesn’t allow you to adjust the center frequency for each band. Admittedly, this level of flexibility isn’t common, which speaks for the rest. Sound is very subjective and since three of these earbuds are under the same Samsung parent company, it makes sense that their tunings share similarities. Though, being picky, I’d point out that the JBL Live Beam 3 has some recession between 200Hz-500Hz and around 9kHz-10kHz as shown on SoundGuys. Their EQ should easily boost these areas since it’s so flexible. Both the JBL and AKG app are extremely similar, virtually identical, with one of the best EQs around. However, no one can touch Nothing’s app for sound customization.

to start obviously looks was a factor as I really love the whole design. Likes: - the tap controls are clean and simple. - ANC is really good on them, especially compared to my brother's air pods pro. it's just as good as them for £100 less. - Transparency is also great. I have earbuds in basically all day every day at work, so not having to take them out to hear other people like I had to do with my last pair of earbuds. - The controls on the app. I listen to a lot of heavy stuff, smaller artists and big bands who are all heavy and very bass heavy so having a bass booster is game changing to me. - The case is a great pocketable size and the buds themselves are comfortable. Neutral: - The battery is decent and gets me through my shifts just about. but being on a phone call with ANC on for a longer time does drain them. Dislikes: - Fit, they are really comfy and secure. except when I'm at work and constantly up and down from top shelf to bottom shelf and leaning over to get stock. they can come slightly loose which occasionally triggers the in ear detection and pauses what I'm playing. not a con so hence dislike. I've had them for 2 months now. and I highly recommend them. but everyone has different tastes and needs when it comes to earbuds so everything that I said will vary. I did read and watch a shit ton of videos before getting a new pair of earbuds and it went down to the nothing ear and the OnePlus buds which are also praised. so my choice was purely down to looks 😂

1: obviously everyone has a different taste in music. and agreed the eq is pretty good. 2: yeah the ANC ain't the best in the world but does the job. also what ear tips (send link?) 3: that's odd, it works perfectly for me, when I'm outside and talking with my wife (who has transparency mode on her Sennheiser headphones) and at work. I do run a shop with music playing at a decent volume and can hear people really well.

My Experience After Over 8 Months with the Nothing Ear (2024) Earbuds Case: From the unboxing, the experience is unique. When you hold the case, you immediately notice that it’s smaller than the previous generation, though still a bit bulky for a jeans pocket. The transparent plastic is high quality and drop-resistant, but it does scratch easily—as is typical with glossy finishes. I recommend getting a protective case to prevent scuffs and impact damage. Rating: 8/10 Earbuds Design: The design is extremely comfortable and ergonomic. They stay securely in place even during intense physical activity. The matte finish on the inside fits perfectly in the ear and makes them suitable for long listening sessions without discomfort. The stem design is also helpful for calls, bringing the mic closer to your mouth. It's also pretty cool to see part of the internal hardware. The package includes three sizes of silicone tips; for me, size S fit best. Rating: 9/10 Controls: The pressure-sensitive controls on the stem work very well. They’re easy to get used to and feel intuitive after a short time. Rating: 9/10 Connectivity: With Bluetooth 5.3, the connection is very stable up to 10 meters. Pairing is instant thanks to Google Fast Pair. They support multipoint connection, so you can use them with both your phone and laptop without re-pairing. Everything is managed through the Nothing X app, where all linked devices are stored. Rating: 9/10 Battery Life: The total battery life with the case reaches up to 40 hours without ANC and about 24 hours with ANC on. In my experience, the earbuds last about 7 hours with ANC off at 50% volume, and around 5 hours with ANC on. The case charges via USB-C and also supports wireless charging. Rating: 8/10 Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode: ANC is decent—it gets the job done but isn’t the best I’ve tried. It mainly cancels low and mid-low frequencies. At 50% volume, it blocks out a good amount of ambient noise, but it doesn’t reach the level of the Sony LinkBuds S, which had much more aggressive cancellation (especially for voices and sharp sounds like dogs barking). I switched from Sony because their battery degraded after a software update, which many users reported. On the other hand, my brother used the first-gen Nothing Ear for over three years with no issues, so I chose Nothing for durability. Transparency mode is good, but not outstanding. Rating: 7.5/10 Sound Quality: This is where they shine. As a musician, I’m picky about audio, and these earbuds did not disappoint. They offer warm and detailed sound. I found them superior to the Sony LinkBuds S and AirPods Pro 2, which sounded compressed and lacked clarity. The Nothing Ear delivers clear, well-separated frequencies without muddiness. Bass: Strong, rich in detail, and doesn’t overpower mids and highs. Great for electronic, pop, and rock music. Mids: Very clear, ideal for vocals and instruments. Highs: Present but soft—not too bright or harsh. They have a warm, natural tuning. They’re comparable or even better than the Galaxy Buds Pro 3 in sound quality. They also support AAC, SBC, LDAC, and LHDC 5.0, so you can enjoy high-quality audio on platforms like Tidal, Deezer, or Amazon Music HD. The advanced 8-band EQ makes a big difference, and there are additional features like personalized hearing profiles and bass enhancement (with 5 levels; I keep it on level 3). Rating: 9.5/10 Conclution: To sum it up, the Nothing Ear (2024) are a solid purchase. Though positioned in the mid-high range, their sound quality and features easily compete with premium models and even outperform more expensive options like the AirPods Pro 2. Of course, if you want the absolute best audio possible, nothing beats wired headphones (IEMs or over-ear with a DAC), as Bluetooth always involves some data loss. If you're looking for comfort, great design, strong sound, and durability, the Nothing Ear are an excellent choice. Final Rating: 10/10

As much as an audiophile would, I'll get directly to the point: **do not trust any review**—Technics is better than Nothing Ear, brah, bah. Clearer sound, more detail, bra bra, and ignore those who defend; I will give my direct opinion. And no defending any, so since music and sound preference are subjective, I will compare based on **instrument separation** and **who has the clearer sound—not muddy**. **Hell fking no**, I am very, very disappointed at this point. The Technics bass is **boomy** even when I set the treble **+ which no bass**. # Initial Impressions I got the Technics **10 days ago** after seeing that both reviewer and user reviews were very hyped about it, so I ordered and tried it out. The first balance is **very boomy** with bass that sounds **warm and a little muddy**. The **soundstage** is the same as Nothing Ear—not wider or anything. # Part 1: Battery Life # Technics * **Battery Performance:** Technics is the clear winner in this category due to its **10-hour ANC on + LDAC capability**. This is great for people who wear them for a long time and do not take them off. # Nothing Ear * **Battery Performance:** For Nothing Ear, it's not bad and not great either, with **5-hour ANC on + LDAC**. This isn’t ideal for long-term use—if you use it for over 6 months, the performance will surely degrade. Personally, I don’t use ANC much because I listen in my room. # Part 2: Secure, Fit, and Daily Use # Technics * **Fit & Case:** My ears are small. Technics wins for daily use. The case of the Technics earbuds is really good—small, easy to fit in my pocket, and quick to use. Even when I walk in the park, I can easily pick them up from my pocket, open the case, and get them out to my ear. # Nothing Ear * **Fit & Case:** For Nothing Ear, the case is luxurious for sure, but it’s hard to get the earbuds out. The case is big, and I don’t know why I can’t get them out when I try to pull the earbuds from the case; the earbuds slip from my hand and fall every time 😅. So for daily use, it may be a draw, I think—Nothing Ear wins for me when it comes to fit in my ear and security, but Technics wins for easy retrieval of earbuds and a smaller case. # Part 3: Software, EQ, and Control # Nothing Ear * **Software & App:** In software, Nothing shines so hard, I can’t believe it. The Nothing app is a clear win in this regard due to its ease of use. It is a rich application—what I like the most is the EQ sharing and equalizer, which is the best I’ve ever tried. I even had fun going to Discord and finding somebody’s EQ to import for 10 EQ presets; it was very fun, easy to import, and easy to share. It even has a hearing test and fit test. * **Controls:** But! For control, the **pinch control is stupid and hard to use**. I don’t like it—I even hate it. I don’t use it at all, so most of the time I spend time in the app to change ANC, LDAC, LDHC, and volume control on the phone rather than using pinch control. # Technics * **Software & App:** Now, for Technics, the app seems okay—not bad and even good too—but for some reason, I find that the app looks very cheap for an expensive product like this. The settings are only in text—no signs or emojis to indicate if this is spatial audio or which setting to use—so it feels a little cheap in terms of, say, the app’s 8-band EQ. * **Controls & Functionality:** I guess I will cover sound quality for EQ in another part, but it has many functions like spatial audio, low latency mode, etc. Touch control is very fking good. One thing I don’t like about the app is that when selecting spatial audio or a different EQ, **why the fk do the earbuds need to self-restart every time?** When I set the EQ, I want to hear the difference fast—Nothing Ear has no issue with this. For me, I like the Nothing app better, but Technics is okay and very good. # Part 4: How the Earbuds and Case Look # Technics * **Case Appearance & Build:** Despite being expensive, one thing I don’t like about the Technics case is that it looks cheap—like cheap plastic. For those who think the lid is aluminum because it looks that way, no—it’s plastic, and the joint of the lid wobbles a little. When you shake it a little, you can hear the plastic sound. That is so cheap, bruhhh, omg. The magnet is also not strong; you can shake it and the earbuds fall out, even if the lid is still off. I use very low force to shake it, and since the case is small and the earbuds are easy to pull out, I’ll skip all my blame here. # Nothing Ear * **Case Appearance & Build:** Nothing Ear has a rich, translucent case with a strong magnet that looks like better quality plastic, even though it shakes. However, the case is square, and when you pull the earbuds out, it is so hard. The positioning of the earbuds in the case is weird—as heck. Nothing Ear users will know what I mean since it sometimes gets confusing when placing the earbuds back in the case. * **Earbuds:** For the earbuds themselves, I kind of give it a draw, but I like Nothing Ear better due to the shape and its transparent design. # Part 5: ANC and Transparency Mode # Technics * **ANC & Transparency:** In short, Technics is far better in this area—Nothing Ear has no chance to win this part. If you ask me, compared to Bose QC Ultra (Bose ANC is so good I will not talk about it—it is the best): * **ANC:** 8.5/10 * **Transparency:** 8/10 # Nothing Ear * **ANC & Transparency:** * **ANC:** 5/10 * **Transparency:** Useless/10 # Part 6: Sound Quality # Technics (Treble+ and Dynamic) * **General Sound Quality:** The sound quality of Technics is on the warmer side while the bass is bloated and the overall sound is muffled. This comes down to the 8-band EQ , which is not that great because the earbuds respond to EQ adjustments (like + or -) with only small changes. * EQ Settings & Presets: However, when using app presets like Treble+ and Dynamic, the sound improves. Even with good tuning, the presets still work best with Treble+ since it boosts mid and high frequencies to counteract the overwhelming bass. Note: Other presets are not good, but Treble+ and Dynamic are the only ones that sound good, even though EQ tuning still doesn't work as well as Treble+ and Dynamic. * The best preset for Technics is **treble+** because all other presets in the app are too bass-heavy except for vocal and treble+, which seem okay to me. * **Song Testing:** I mostly listen to J-pop and regular popular songs (Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Taylor, etc.). I started with "Sunny" from Yorushika, "Perfect" (Ed Sheeran guitar version), Bocchi the rock song "Guitar, Loneliness and Blue Planet," and Bruno Mars’ "Just the Way You Are" using LDAC on a good streaming music app. * **Detailed Observations:** * The Technics sound is somewhat blurry—guitar is very hard to hear; you need to focus to catch it. * The bass comes too much from the left and right, making the vocals (especially female vocals) seem behind the lead instruments, causing muddiness. * The kick and snare sound very lifeless and do not feel as clean as on Nothing Ear (using a reference EQ like the Sennheiser HX EQ—I copy from somebody, ignore the name as it’s not the real Sennheiser). * Overall, the instrument separation is about 15% worse than Nothing Ear (EQ), and the sound quality is 18% worse than Nothing Ear overall. * The app also looks cheap. # Nothing Ear (EQ) * **General Sound Quality & EQ:** Nothing Ear has an EQ that is extremely responsive—you can adjust Q, factor, Hz, etc., and see changes directly. Even though the stock EQ on Nothing Ear is very bad, when you fine-tune it (using EQ presets from Reddit or Discord), it can become top-market quality—potentially even better than MTW4 or Technics when adjusted properly. * **Treble, Mid, and Instrument Impact:** * The treble in Nothing Ear is good but not the best—it doesn't sparkle as much as I want. * The mid is the best—the guitar and snare drum sound right, and I can feel the impact of strumming, bass, and kick after EQ. * After EQ adjustment, the instrument separation is excellent, and the soundstage is clearer than Technics or even better than Technics' best preset. * What I really like about Nothing Ear is that I can boost my bass to make it bloated like Technics—or even turn off the bass EQ entirely for clarity. I can also tune it like Harman, which is very amazing and fun when sharing EQ settings. * **Comparison Summary:** * **EQ:** Nothing Ear’s EQ is extremely responsive; no other wireless earbuds offer such detailed adjustments. * **EQ Sharing:** The ability to share and import EQ presets is among the best—finding EQ settings via Discord or Reddit is very fun. * **Treble:** The treble is about 10% less sparkling than Technics. * **Sound Stage** * These two earbuds have the same soundstage, and it's quite wide. From my point of view, the soundstage of these two earbuds feels like a triangular cut of cheese. While they both have a 3D image, your head is positioned in the middle of the "cheese." The bass and low-frequency instruments stay in the left and right ears, while in the front, you have some kick and snare drums. The vocals are positioned in front of the drums. * For those wondering, I feel that the vocals in the Nothing Ear are closer compared to the Technics. In the Technics, the vocals seem to blend with the drums, whereas in the Nothing Ear, the vocals are positioned in front, with the drums and snare behind them. This results in the Nothing Ear having clearer vocal and mid sound. # Conclusion !!!!So if you have Nothing Ear, DO NOT switch to this product. Your product is already better.!!!!! Technics Summary: * EQ does not respond much—useless for me. * ANC and Transparency mode are better. * QOL (Quality of Life) is better. * Cheaper look. * Touch control is better. * Only the dynamic preset and treble+ are better than the other EQ options. * The sound of the electric guitar, drums, guitar is not as good as on Nothing Ear, even with Technics’ EQ. * Instrument separation is about 15% worse than Nothing Ear. * Overall sound quality is 18% worse than Nothing Ear. * The app looks cheap. Nothing Ear Summary: * Worse control. * Bad ANC, USELESS Transparency mode. * Richer look. * Case is big. * EQ is extremely responsive and adjustable in detail (Q, Hz, etc.). * EQ sharing and import features are among the best, allowing you to achieve top-market sound quality, even better than the MTW4 or Technics. I would confidently say this after listening to the Nothing Ear myself. After tuning and with the help of the Discord and Reddit communities, which themselves are like monsters when it comes to fine-tuning EQ settings for these earbuds, the Nothing Ear has become a true powerhouse in terms of sound quality. * The treble is good but not as sparkling as Technics; however, the overall after EQ impact—especially for guitar and drums—is clearer and more detailed than Technics all EQ. * Nothing Ear lets you boost or turn off bass EQ for clarity, offering amazing tuning flexibility. Disclaimer: I talk about what I experience. I don’t care who will blame me or anything. I only compare earbuds from my experience. I have also listened to Sennheiser Momentum 4 and Technics. For Bose, I already talked about ANC, not sound quality. I am not an audiophile. Any audiophile who shows me a curve to defend Technics—I don’t care. I already talked in all 6 parts about why I think like that. Also, since I'm still at a B2 level in English, I use ChatGPT to help review and improve my writing.

For me, I think if someone likes bass, it's kind of like night and day, as you said. The Technics are better in terms of daily use and battery life, but in my personal tests, even with good EQ tuning, they still feel bass-heavy and a bit muddy. Since I enjoy listening to guitar and instrument sounds, the clarity and track separation of the Technics are not as good as the Nothing Ear. However, for those who listen to metal and EDM, I'm sure they will love the Technics.

Good to hear! Everyone has different tastes and responds to frequencies differently. For me, Technics isn't worth the price. If you like listening to exciting songs, you might enjoy the Technics. I think your preference and mine differ—you might like a warm tone with bass and treble, but I prefer a bright tone with melodic guitar sounds and clean instruments and mids. I can even turn the Nothing Ear into bass-heavy earbuds with just EQ tuning, and I think the bass can even be stronger than the Technics if boosted properly. I tried a bass-boost EQ + Bass+5 that someone shared on Discord, and it hits harder and stronger than the Technics in my personal test.

I was eyeing the Nothing Ear 2024 for a very long time, as a few of my friends who are audiophiles had recommended me this set and I finally sold my Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and bought this on sale this month and boy did I make an excellent choice. I really love these earbuds for what they offer, specially for the price and I am gonna tell why. https://preview.redd.it/66jqgbaq6hqe1.jpg?width=3958&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d00159051346f59086557893bee1fcf7ba43a237 Packaging was simple, nothing to write home about- three sets of vented ear tips, with the M size coming fitted on the buds themselves, a charging cable and paperwork. Like most Nothing products, one unboxes this by pulling on a tearable pull tab which then reveals the goods within. The case does have a very striking design and is very pocket friendly, however I would have appreciated a bit more robustness in the construction of these as it feels weaker compared to my B2P (Buds 2 pro abbreviated), and it definitely looks like it is going to be a scratch magnet as well. Also, the way the buds rest in the case is a bit unorthodox and it does take some while to get used to. https://preview.redd.it/k4vf38iw6hqe1.jpg?width=5962&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7df8059988db169b4ff98b30678d9ec45a596572 The app is very laid out in my opinion, one can adjust everything that they want- from varying ANC levels and even assigning the commands onto the buttons of the buds which did impress me, the EQ settings do a good job and having a band EQ customisation totally helps. It supports the AAC, LHDC and LDAC codecs but I have for the most part, ran AAC- works just fine for me. And supports multipoint too. Below in the picture are some of my settings, I use a Nothing Phone 2. https://preview.redd.it/p1fvyp717hqe1.jpg?width=2614&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46a231d03645be8bc834ad5aeff25f0827669e3f Battery life is acceptable to me at least, the app shows the drain in percentages of 5 and in my unit, the left earbud shows the drop earlier than the right but they mostly end up in the case on equal drain once the usage is done. This is one of the most comfortable buds that I have tried so far, and I have had this for hours and my ears have not fatigued at all. I am using aftermarket ear tips, the Kiwi Ears flex to be precise as they are vented and I have been recommended the AZLA SednaEarfit Crystal 2 and I shall be picking them up too. Now, the most important part which is the sound and these deliver with exceptional strength. Here is how the Nothing Ear 2024 fared on my demo list: Get Lucky- the low notes have a stupendous controlled rumble which is unlikely amongst most wireless buds that I have tried and owned so far. The bass rumbles in a way that has my head grooving and in motion, while being reminded of how clear the vocals sound along with the rumble; like a hot knife through butter. Soundstage feels a bit cramped but the separation is noteworthy. Cymbals on this track are not bothersome at all, although they could have used a little more forefront to complement the rest of the track. Overall, on this track it scores a 9/10. https://preview.redd.it/nn1n8fb87hqe1.jpg?width=6000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b02c00c7d925bfd21f21103ad88fc9aaca4787e Limelight- the way the track is introduced brings a wide smile to my face; none of the elements are compromised or overshadowed, rather the separation is flawless to the extent where I can recognise everything so clearly, it almost feels like this is not wireless, but wired. It sounds almost akin to the Zetian Wu Heyday that I own, but with less energy, less fun and slightly more “clinical”, a word I would have not really used for a wireless set. Peart’s drum work here is enjoyed like one would be enjoying a nice chilled beverage after a long day of work on a humid summer day. The soundstage widens up a bit on this track, although when I compare it with the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro that I owned previously, the B2P does it a bit better. However, this does everything else better over the Buds 2 Pro. Also, guitars sound inexplicably good. Overall, on this track it scores a 9/10. Pneuma- The Nothing Ear 2024 here, to me, delivers the full package here. This is usually one of the songs that I particularly use to gauge my opinion on technicalities, and betting the house regarding this on this pair was fully worth it. It matches up (I would not say surpasses) a lot of wired in-ear monitors within this price bracket and slightly above. The prowess it shows in keeping the instrument separation clean is something that I really, really appreciate myself for buying this pair, not to mention the rumbly yet controlled, precise lows keep on coming and the highs soar without spice, without hurting your ears. The stage improves a bit on this track. Overall, a 10/10. Alright- Nothing short of a home run, here- the Ear once again brings me all; the way the bass hits on this track is very impactful but not bloated, punchy but not overpowering, and Kendrick’s powerful vocals shine through bright, while I enjoyed the way the Sax keeps on coming in at the right junctions of the song, and the way the cymbals play out on this track is probably one of the best I have heard through amongst all the gear that I have owned and currently own- the first in a wireless, and one of the few if I consider all. Stage is ample, and the technicalities once again are on point, and adding on to it further, the timbre sounds natural and uncoloured, scoring another 10/10 on this track. All by Myself- Celine’s vocals right out of the gate sounds a tad smidge thin but nothing to worry about, the instrumentals sound right on point, and the stage is ample for everything to work in cohesion; once again the Nothing Ear does not sugarcoat anything nor does it try to do too much- from the piano, to the strings, to the drums on this track; everything sounds right where it needs to be, and also how it needs to be and in the way I like it. But my complaints for the vocals sounding thin get made out in the way with how strong the Ear contains the soaring vocals that come in the climax of the song, even though I had it playing in a higher volume, no way did I feel an ounce of shrillness or pierce which the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro definitely made me be aware of, quite a few times. I rate the performance another well deserving 10/10 here. https://preview.redd.it/g4ras1dg7hqe1.jpg?width=6000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf56ec3f63d0b2579b795a5179d859d52356a22f Concluding notes: I am not going to stretch this out, but amongst all the wireless buds that I have tried, this to me has been the best all rounding package which fully justifies the price that I have paid. Selling off the B2P was a solid decision, and the Nothing Ear 2024 at least to my ears, ranks ahead of the likes of the Samsung Buds 3 lineup, the Pixel Buds Pro 2, the OnePlus Buds Pro 3. The ANC and the transparency capabilities could have been better, but it does provide some of the best microphones I have tried across all wireless buds that I could lay my hands on. If you are looking for one that fits the bill without breaking the bank, and specifically want something in a stem style wireless earbud, well I wholeheartedly recommend this. In terms of sound, the soundstage could have been a tad bit wider and female vocals could have definitely used some more weight. On some tracks, the mids seem slightly more recessed than one might prefer but this set takes EQ extremely well. I run Super Review’s preset on Poweramp with the Kiwi Ears Flex ear tips and I cannot complain, it sounds amazing. Tip rolling definitely improves things a bit but the stock ear tips are not shabby by any means. https://preview.redd.it/j9z50xhi7hqe1.jpg?width=6000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b51a95b77d144319024f832f49f2503faee08b4f I rate this, a well-deserved S tier in my book. I do not miss my IEMs in case I forget to pack them in, this alone suffices. Comparison points used: Oneplus Buds Pro 3 and Pro 2, Galaxy Buds 3 pro and 2 pro, Sennheiser Momentum 4, Pixel Buds Pro and Pro 2, Apple Airpods Pro Gen 1 and Gen 2, Oneplus Buds 3, Moondrop Space Travel. In-ear monitors used while evaluating this: Tangzu Zetian Wu Heyday, Sennheiser IE200, Kiwi Ears KE4, Dunu Titan S2, Tanchjim One with a FiiO KA13 and a CX31993 dac. Eartips used: Spinfit CP100 and 100+, Dunu Candy and Kiwi Ears Flex. Images have the Kiwi Ears Flex eartips in M.

If you liked the [Sennheiser CX400 BT](https://amzn.to/4kMvU0D) and want something wireless with a similar clean, rich sound under $100, I’d take a hard look at the [Soundcore Liberty 4 NC](https://amzn.to/4iz06Li). They’ve got gummy-style tips that fit snug without being bulky, great ANC for the price, and the sound is really customizable through the app. Out of the box, they’re a little bass-forward, but once you dial them in, they do a *really* nice job with vocals especially female vocals and anything acoustic or mid-heavy. I listen to everything from hip-hop to classical to podcasts, and these handle all of it without falling apart at the highs. They’re also super comfortable, hold a charge forever, and honestly punch way above their price point. You could stretch to the [Nothing Ear](https://amzn.to/4iz0lWI) if you want something flashier with a more balanced sound signature, but for pure value and versatility, Liberty 4 NC is hard to beat.

These buds are amazing sound quality for the price. The only issue I have is that they have an aggressive ANC which caused some dizziness when used. I eventually had to stop using them because of the odd pressure I felt when listening. It's highly possible I had a defective pair, but I've read some other reviews about the additional pressure caused by their ANC approach.

The app offers a really advanced eq. People share custom eq’s and you can scan a QR code to add it to your settings. This is cool because the default setting has a a v curve but I added a crinacle curve that flattens the response to make a neutral presentation. And it’s less expensive. Check out Amazon and look for a vendor that sells these for $79. I’m certain it’s the factory. This is how I purchased and my buds were factory sealed with all accessories

Interesting. Wouldn't have thought something as relatively bass light as the first gen pros would work for that kind of music. Well I could recommend technics az80 or az60m2. Nothing ear (2024) are also really good (I'm just not into stem style buds). Jabra elite 8 active Gen 2 if you want something very rugged. OnePlus buds pro 3 seem to be a bit more on the dynamic side rather than neutral but seems to be pretty good

The noise cancellation at the maximum level is very good, although it could be improved and due to the issue of transparency it seems to me that this is the negative point since I have the JBL tune BUDS that have 4 microphones and the transparency is very good but not really in the Nothing.

\>Nothing Ear 2s Note that the Nothing Ear 2s are *older* than the "Nothing Ear" (2024) model. If you're in that price range, go for the newer model. I have the Nothing Ear (2024), and the Perl Pros. The Perls are bigger and bulkier. They fit amazingly in my left ear but not in my right, despite me trying nearly every tip and wing they provide. I haven't tried running in them yet, but I'm going to expect that they will be more likely to fall out. But I think their sound quality is a step above the Nothing's, especially when streaming Atmos content from Apple with a hires Bluetooth Codec (so only only certain Android phones). (Oh, also, the PerL Pros are more neutrally tuned. You can turn up the bass on them, but if you do it too much it will start to bleed. So if you're a basshead, I wouldn't choose the PerLs. I've *heard* that the AZ80s and the 1000S compete with the PerL in sound quality, but I haven't tried them yet myself. I understand that Bose leads the way in noise cancellation, but if you don't care about that, then the Bose has the least desirable sound quality.

They pretty much all allow you to pause. Many use capacitative sensors so you might have to remove your gloves but if you're changing your gloves anyway, does it matter? There are squeeze controlled earbuds. My Nothing Ear (2024) has that feature and I prefer it. The Soundcore Liberty 4's (and I think 4 NC) do too, and I bet there are others.

Jabra Elite 10 (Get them before they're gone) Jabra Elite Active 8 Gen 2 (light, easy, excellent sound quality, and basically waterproof; no good hires codecs though, and the app is decent at best) Also get them before they're gone. The other thing about the Jabras is that the case becomes a Bluetooth transmitter for devices that aren't Bluetooth enabled. So, for example, you can use your earbuds on the in-flight entertainment systems on some airlines. (I LOVE them for travelling.) (Jabra is discontinuing their lines of wireless earbuds, which is really a shame.) Technics AZ-80 (one of the leaders in the 200-300 space; they were just made obsolete by the introduction of teh AZ-100s, so I'm expecting their price to go down even more soon) Denon PerL Pro (excellent sound quality, great integration of AptX codec, and amazing sound personalization, but blech everything else, including app and case). These were on sale during Black Friday/Christmas for $150, and for a short time Amazon had some limited stock for $99, which is absolutely insane quality for that price. Back at $200? I think I like the other options better. But be on the lookout. Nothing Ear (2024) -- stylish, comfy, squeeze controls so no accidental misclicks, great app. Sound quality is probably one rank below the Jabra, Technics, and Denon, but they're fine buds.

Head over to r/earbuds I think the best deal right now are the Denon PerL Pros at $149 on Amazon. (They were as low as $99 a few weeks ago). Amazing customized sound and great hires codec support if you're on Android. But everything else is meh compared to the other big boys--anc is relatively poor, app is weird, call quality is only ok, charging case makes it hard to get the buds out, and they may or may not be comfortable for you. But the sound quality is a tier above everything else in the $100-$150 range. Nothing Ear (2024) at $115 now on Amazon are kind of the opposite. Sound quality is very, very good but not top tier, but the case is fun (and easy to get the buds in and out) the app is amazing for customized sound EQ and features, they have squeeze stems for more accurate button control, ANC is very good (though not top tier), call quality seems about average. They're also really comfy for me but may come loose while exercising. The other top tier sound quality buds are Sennheiser Momentum4s (I have these and agree that they're amazing), Sony 1000XM-5 (some folks say these are the best far and away but others disagree) Bose QC Ultra (great ANC but Bose tuning which some people like and others don't), Technics AZ-80s (often mentioned as the best and now on sale for $200 because their next Gen buds have been teased), and OnePlus Buds Pro 3 And AirPod pros, of course, which are generally highly recommended if you have an iPhone. There are lots of reviews of those buds that you can read. Next tier down includes Soundcore Liberty 4 NC (especially for ANC) EarFun Air Pro 4 OnePlus Nord Buds 3

AZ80 with superbass preset gives me some mega clean bass. Momentum 4 can be personalised to give you a decent bass, not as bassy as momentum 3. Good customisations in the app. They work very well in the gym, and bass is plenty for workouts using super bass preset. Momentum 4, with a good warranty are good. A lot of issues from momentum 3 were fixed. Sound is brilliant. Devialet gemini ii is meant to be very good, just haven't got to try it. Nothing ear 2024 is a nother good one with a great EQ. EQ is amazing I have never seen a better one on earbuds and will really be hard to compromise when I test other buds like the OnePlus Buds Pro 3. Some reviews noted ANC was not the best but so far I agree with you, it's pretty good! I had to get an omnispin eartip for one ear to make it fit but got there now. I disagree with you on Transparency quite a bit though. Worst transparency I've seen on earbuds. I can't hear anyone. Is there a setting I'm missing?

We agree to disagree then 😋 I really wanted to like the Nothing Ear but found the sound to not be up to par with others (namely lack of sub bass and overemphasized in the 800hz range that I couldn't EQ out) and also the mic quality was among the worst. While the mic quality sounded good in tests on YouTube, those tests weren't on actual phone calls. So it seems that something with those buds performs worse in actual calls.

Have you tried the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC or Pro? I'm curious how those compare to the Liberty 3 Pro. I'm a bass head and currently looking for as much bass as possible without painful treble under $100. Wireless charging is a plus, but not necessary. Right now, I'm debating between Nothing Ear (2024) and something from Soundcore...

Recently, I was testing tws earbuds, and the best picks are (;tldr) Technics AZ80, Denon Perl Pro or Devialet Gemini II. More detailed read: (remember, with headphones everyting is individual and based only on my own impressions, YMMV) Sony WF-1000XM5 – comfortable, excellent ANC, but the sound is very weak, with huge bass bleed into the mids; everything is muffled, and nothing has changed at Sony. I honestly don't understand what people see in the XM line. Bang & Olufsen EX – ANC is poor, almost as if it weren't there, despite the positive reviews online. I'm disappointed with the sound. They probably would have been fine a few years ago, but now there are cheaper and better headphones on the market. The price includes the B&O tax. Nothing Ear (2) 2024 – Big surprise. Cheap price, sounds better than Sony or B&O, they doesn't resonate when walking, ANC is okay (70% of Sony's), comfortable, great app, good connectivity, looks great. The sound is slightly V-shaped, but it doesn't lack clarity, brilliance, and balance. Galaxy Buds Pro - Harman tuning, overall disappointed with them. I expected a lot more for the money with AKG and Samsung's background. ANC is okay, the sound is very dry and clear, but they are comfortable. They are the kind of AirPods for Samsung users who will be satisfied with a fairly boring sound, but otherwise not much. Perfect for audiobooks and podcasts. Sennheiser Momentum TWS4 – I had a lot of faith in them, but I'm disappointed. Weak ANC, not great tuning, but above all, they sit very strangely in the ear, and I've tried many aftermarket earpieces. The sound is nothing special; even "Nothing" is much better. Technics AZ80 - Fantastic!! I wouldn’t hesitate to call them “audiophile TWS headphones.” The ANC is decent; they are comfortable, don’t resonate when walking or running, the app is very detailed, and the sound is simply brilliant. They play the entire spectrum of details, and they are fun. A great buy with a mature sound, almost like wired headphones, and they have a great soundstage. Given the LDAC, these are the best. Denon Perl Pro - My favorites in the sound department, but they are far from "the best" in everything else. They look crazy, but in fact, they are comfortable; you just have these sorts of plates on your ears ("in front of your ears"). But the sound is uncompromisingly perfect. The whole spectrum of details; they are fun, musical, and they have excellent technology for custom tuning with regard to hearing defects and the shape of the ear. It is phenomenal and it really works. It's not that strict neutral hi-fi, but rather a fun hi-fi that gets you moving and has body. Buts? Cheap charging box, they don't suit everyone (short stems), ANC is weak, passthrough is bad, but you'll forgive them everything once you start listening to them. They have such an effect that when you start playing songs on shuffle from a selection of your 1000 favorite tracks, a song you've already heard a hundred times and you don't really enjoy it anymore, you'll let it play because it will simply be fun again through these. Devialet Gemini II—I'll refer to the Denon Perl Pro as they have a lot in common. It's actually really hard to choose between them. If the Denon Perl Pro are a 9.5/10 to me sonically, then these are a 9/10 (the 10/10 goes to Technics if you don't listen purely to EDM and want that juicy low end). They are actually great, dense, tunable, fun, with a lot of details. They are diminished a bit by codecs, and that's a shame, but in the end, it doesn't matter to a lot of people. The reason they are not 10 out of 10 is purely because the Perl Pro simply has a little extra "magic" and they lack the clarity of Technics. With Perl Pros, I don't know if it's the technology compensating for age, hearing quality, and ear shape, but Denon's have mojo; these are "just great." But I was just talking about sound for now. Where the Denon's ANC is 5/10, the Devialet's are, without exaggeration, at the level of the best on the market. Plus, they add technology to deal with impact sounds and wind, and both work perfectly. And without negative pressure or unpleasant feelings. For me, Devialet simply has the TOP ANC on the market at the level of Sony, Bose, or Apple. The same goes for passthrough; it's like you don't have headphones on, really cool. Furthermore, the build quality is great, they're "small," they're comfortable to wear, there are numerous settings in the app, and they're easy to control - Geminis can justify its high price. I would get Technics if you can and want to use the LDAC codec and play your music at high bitrates. Also, they are not that bass-heavy; they sound almost analytical but fun nonetheless with an excellent soundstage. The Perl Pros are just magical, but they have their quirks. The Devialets are the "whole frickin' package" minus the codecs, so they will be absolutely fine with Spotify but they lack the magic of the Perl Pros or the sound quality of Technics. Edit: grammar

I've had the Nothing Ear 2024 model for about 6 months now and they are hands down the best earbuds I've ever owned. They sound fantastic especially for the price and punch above their weight. The white version I purchased look very modern and stylish. The Nothing X app doesn't suck like many earbud apps do and has some cool features like an ear tip fit test as well as an option to test your hearing ability in order to tune sound specifically for your ears. Hearing loss, aging, certain frequencies, etc affect sound quality. **I'm 31 and the improvement between the default tuning and the custom tuning after completing the hearing test was massive. Make sure to complete the hearing test if you get these instead of sticking with the default tuning.** These earbuds don't cause my ears to feel fatigued after long sessions and I never have to turn the volume above 30% during video and music playback. The battery life is also very good when compared to the original Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless earbuds I upgraded from which only lasted 4 hours, where very large, and were twice the price of the Nothing Ear when they launched. Without ANC I easily get around 9 hours while using LHDC out of the Nothing Ear 2024. I don't regularly use ANC but the times I've used it I've gotten around 5 hours total which isn't that great to be honest. I find the clear charging case cool looking and it provides a great amount of charging (up to 40hrs according to Nothing). I got my first call while wearing them the other day and was surprised at how good they sounded but full disclosure the call was from someone who was in the same house and this was after the most recent firmware update which improved the call audio quality IIRC. I don't have much experience using earbuds for calls so I can't say how it compares to other earbuds. I wouldn't call myself an audiophile (I'm more of a videophile) but I do care about audio quality. I'd consider my knowledge about audio to be intermediate. Like I mentioned earlier I upgraded from the original Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless earbuds. I use Audioengine HD3 speakers on my gaming PC and try to listen to the best possible audio quality using high quality codecs whenever possible. I listen to a large variety of genres and the Nothing Ear sound very clear for all of them. I'm a metalhead at heart and the vocals don't drown out the instruments or vice versa. The default bass setting is set to 3 out of 5. I left it at 3 which works for for me and doesn't sound too bass-heavy. I'm an Android user but these earbuds have been designed to work well with Apple devices too. Plus if you get the white version it matches the Apple aesthetic if you care about that. I haven't had issues with Bluetooth connection loss or glitches nor have I had any audio delay issues while watching videos. **Things I don't like, would change, or don't care about:** Chat-GPT integration. I've never used it and probably never will. Competitors have longer lasting ANC battery life. Transparency isn't awful but could be better. IP54 water and dust-resistance is less than what competitors offer. ANC changes the audio quality and can feel/sound kind of weird which could bother some people. The naming scheme for Nothing's earbuds is FUCKING STUPID. Seriously it's awful and I could easily see someone that doesn't know much about technology purchasing an older model for themselves or a loved one without realizing it. When I was doing research to decide if I would get these earbuds I had problems Googling the newest model, finding the right page for the newest model on Nothing's own website, and finding the correct model to purchase on Amazon. Not to mention trying to find the correct reviews and comparisons. I resorted to calling them the Nothing Ear 2024 for this review. For clarification these are the earbuds I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/Nothing-Ear-Wireless-Integration-Headphones/dp/B0CXPSBKVR If you don't mind sacrificing a few things the cheaper Nothing Ear (a) which launched alongside the Nothing Ear 2024 are an excellent choice: https://www.amazon.com/Nothing-Ear-Integration-Cancelling-Equaliser/dp/B0D2XYTB85?th=1&psc=1 You'll sacrifice some audio quality (the Nothing Ear 2024 have ceramic diaphragm drivers vs the Nothing Ear a's standard drivers), have less customization options, get a less advanced equalizer and personalized sound profile, but you'll get better battery life at a lower price. The lower priced Nothing Ear (a) offer excellent value and are not that far behind the Nothing Ear 2024 when it comes to performance. The yellow version looks sick too! There are a few other slight differences between both models that I can't remember but you can Google those. Of course this is all my opinion but the majority of official reviews and user reviews I've seen have been positive (with some valid criticism) for both models. I'm very happy with these earbuds and recommend them.

Between those two specifically I'd go for the nothing. The sound is miles above what the skullcandys have with comparable noise cancelling. But If you can stretch your budget by another 20 bucks or so i would strongly recommend going for the Nothing Ear 2024s, amazon has them for about 120 and these things are fantastic. Absolutely amazing sound quality for the price after doing the build in sound test, these can also be tuned to be little bass cannons if you want. Plus the mic is comparable to my galaxy buds 3 pro.

While I agree that Music Sound Quality is very good (audiophile DMS and audio engineer ThisIsTechToday also really like it), for Call Quality it sounds similar to other cheaper earbuds in it's price range and let's lots of background noise in through the mic, like the OnePlus Buds 3 and Motorola moto buds+, as heard in the comparison link.

Good to see that you're backing up your argument with a source, I appreciate that. But, if you noticed i mentioned “that much” obviously some amount of noise will be there, especially when we talk about crowded public places like, metros, etc. No ear buds can make the noise go completely “vanished” as that would require some really high end technology which surely will impact the pricing as well of that product. The key factor here is that your ear buds should be able to provide you a good balance of both the worlds (listening to Music, taking up calls), which in my opinion Nothing just gets that work done for me. I never faced issues while taking up calls and talking to anyone on call using my ear 2, (When I first got them, I always began my calls asking.. “hey! Am i audible? I'm in the metro, I hope my voice is clear and the background noise isn't bothering you.” To which every person used to reply, “no you're very clear/clearly audible or your voice crystal clear to me.”) I'm the kind of person who doesn't speak loudly, my volume and pace is very normal, even then I never faced any issues while talking to anyone on call through the ear2s. For music, (this is my opinion) I feel like a bud should sound balanced, then if i further want to make some adjustments to how I want them to sound, i should have that freedom as well. And guess what? Ear2 does even that pretty well! They sound neutral/balanced and really good with “balanced” mode in Equalizer and as soon as I want to feel the rumble, the low end punch more, i switch them to “more bass” that makes them just perfect for my listening experience. And in general I like them because they just fulfill each and every aspect of my requirements or expectations from a pair of buds, be it listening to music or attending calls, just perfect for every situation. One down side would be their battery life, that could have been better. Now, when Ear2s are doing so well, Nothing Ear 2024 are their successors, shouldn't they be doing even better than Ear2s? They have better drivers compared to Ear2 (must be sounding good, for sure), their battery has increased, better backup they must be providing. Now talking about calls, i don't feel like a successor would downgrade on any aspect, might be equal to the previous generation ones but a downgrade wouldn't make any sense, keeping that in mind.. i suppose the mic and noise cancellation should be ok in the Ear 2024, that is what would make them a true “successor”, right? I did get to test them and honestly I didn't feel any downgrades or negatives in Ear 2024. I don't know what people expect from a Device when it comes out, but they should be keeping a few things in mind before making any criticism: 1. You're getting what you're paying for. 2. You should be seeking the right balance and not thinking that the one you'll be getting should be “perfect” in every aspect, because that's “utopia”, nothing (no device in universe) can be and will be “at par or 100/100, perfect”. Even if you're paying a 1000$ for a pair of earbuds, you'll surely gonna find somethings that just wouldn't match your expectations or would disappoint you. I hope I was able to get my points across well!

Cost me £80 and I have no complaints personally, obvs mic quality has been mentioned by friends but I take meetings with them and they work well, so you can be the judge of that. Noise cancelling is quite good, blocking out significant noise but not all. Hear through is also okay, but I'm still taking them out of my ears to have direct conversations so they're not perfect. All in all for the price I'd say they're decent.

I used to have a Sony WC700N before I got the Nothing ear a. The sound quality is way better, punchier bass, way better instrument separation too. The ANC is okay, it will drown out repetitive sounds like a "hum" but struggles with dynamic sounds. Honestly I think that has more to do with how these buds fit, they aren't exactly sitting "in" the ear canal but just over it so isolation is not that good. Also since they don't sit "in" the ear they are more comfortable to wear but I've had these fall out a couple times at the gym if I'm exerting a lot and end up contracting the muscles near the ear. Oh call quality is way better than the Sony's. People used to struggle to hear me in the gym with the Sonys but they understand me effortlessly with these, even with loud music in the background.

Hey, I'm looking for the best true wireless earbuds that I can take on my long walks (usually 8-10 miles 3-4 times per week). My. main purpose is to listen to music and podcasts and make calls (often work calls). I need great mic quality (as great as it can be on truly wireless earbuds). Fit is important since I don't want to constantly fiddle around with them on longer walks. Sweatproof or sweat resistant is a must. I live in the humid South - and will definitely be sweating during these long walks. What I've Tried Already Sony XM4 and XM5 - XM4s were too big. XM5s were a good size, but I feel like they didn't get loud enough and the bass wasn't strong enough - that mattered more before when I was running with the more. Now I mostly walk, so super strong bass isn't needed. The foam tips were good, but I don't know if I could wear them for long periods of time. Nothing Ear(a) - I really wanted to like these, but they just didn't stay in my ear well when sweating. Linkbuds S - I was a big fan of these - but I kept having a recurring issue with these that has been reported online in that the left ear bud would drain exponentially faster than the right earbud. I swapped it out once and still had the same issue. Call and mic quality were good and the sound was really good and the compact size was awesome - but that persistent battery drain issue was a big buzzkill. OnePlus Buds 3 - That's my current driver. Got it to pair with my OnePlus Open (no longer have that) and really like the bass and how loud they get. However, I'm starting to notice on my longer walks that I constantly have to re-adjust the stems because they move around - and when I do that it'll accidentally pause tracks or even hang up calls. I'd appreciate any recommendations. I'd like to keep it under $100 (I'm okay with buying refurbished from sellers like Secondipity on eBay (what I've done before)) and I'd want them to have a great mic and call quality along with great sound. Being sweat-resistant and/or sweatproof would be awesome - and the fit is crucial.

The nothing ear are just okay for sound quality. They really are nothing too special. I would recommend the Cambridge audio melomania m100. They have far more superior sound quality to the nothing ear.

Well that's hard to judge, but I think the safer option then would be to go with the nothing ear because they are lighter (and less chunky) than the Cambridge if your willing to give up the better sound quality.

I love the Nothing Ear buds too, but yeah, they’re not ideal for workouts. If SpinFits didn’t fully fix it, you could try Comply foam tips (super grippy) or XELASTEC tips (they soften with heat and grip better). Both can help a lot, especially when you’re sweaty. That said, if they still slip out, it might be worth switching to something made for movement. I’d recommend the Beats Fit Pro — great sound, strong ANC, and they stay put thanks to the flexible wing design. Or if you want total comfort and don’t need crazy sound quality, bone conduction headphones like the Shokz OpenRun are awesome for workouts — nothing in your ears, and they don’t move around at all. Might be worth keeping the Nothing Ear for casual listening and using something like Beats Fit Pro or Shokz just for the gym.

For comfort, nothing beats the pixel buds pro 2. They're so small and light that I forget I'm wearing them, I side sleep in them, etc. Sound - Nothing Ear is incredible but less secure fit and easier ear fatigue ANC - Bose or Sony I think the best all rounder (that I have tried) are the pixel buds pro 2, but I value comfort way higher than any other features.

I tried them both .. Nothing ear, after EQ, has amazing sound quality but very poor ANC and transparency… Bose has the best ANC, comfort and a pretty efficient transparency. Sound quality is solid but below the nothing ear… if I have to pick one I would take the Bose Qc ultra though .. I ended up picking the technics az80 which, overall, was a better package for me

Nothing ear that released this year. Great earbuds with a good equalizer and a personalized ear test that honestly makes a huge difference to get the settings based on your ear test results within the nothing x app. Super pleased with them and at the price point of $150, I think they compete with $250 earbuds.

This is marketing and brand reach doing what it does best. There are plenty of brands doing great things in the market that aren't getting a lot of attention. JLAB's Epic Lab earbuds were fantastic; JBL, Moondrop, Nothing Ear, SoundPeats, numerous other brands tested very well against the top of my list, which consisted of the Denon Perl Pro, Technics AZ80, Sennheiser True Wireless Momentum 4, Sony XM5, AirPods Pro, B&W Pi7 S2 and Pi8. I have the AZ100s on the way, and I'm sure they'll occupy one of those top spots. It's important to note, however, that many of these brands do not need to push as many units to remain successful. At the economies of scale companies like Sony, Sennheiser, and Bose are operating at, the investment into their production, distribution, customer service, and operations pipelines is immense. They are likely expecting to sell tens of thousands of units, to the thousands that other brands need to turn a profit. And while you may see those more prolific brands everywhere, don't forget the communities of people on social media platforms that regularly market and recommend the opposing brands. They're not as common, but that's to be expected and will remain that way by nature. In other words, while the popular brands may be ubiquitous, that is by design. It doesn't mean opposing manufacturers are on a downward trajectory. This was the assumption when Jabra cancelled its TWS ANC lineup, and that may have been part of the decision, but Jabra had other, more profitable interests and chose to constrain their business goals around those interests because there was more opportunity there. As someone that's tested dozens of ANC earbuds (and has a wide ranging collection of dedicated, wired IEMs), I have very few biases when it comes to competing brands. If it works well, I'll use the thing. I have no qualms recommending a pair of Soundcore VR P10s, right alongside top-tier TWS sets if I think it fits the individual's use case. Recently, I took a long flight overseas and left all the other major TWS brands behind and took a cheap pair of PortaPros and a $20 pair of Aliexpress stem-style earbuds with me. Everyone else on the plane was wearing AirPods.

Nothing ear a because they punch way above their peice and have an amazing mic. I cannot wait for the next nothing, hopefully with a slimmer case design and better battery lifeCase: main reason I picked ear a. I want a small case that can fit my pocket without a bulge.   Battery life: I get about 5 and a half hours with LDAC and ANC on, and up to 10 hours with both off. I think LDAC is worth the sacrifice though, because it improve music quality tremendously. I hope next nothing can do 8 hours.

For me its definitely Nothing Ear. I compared them to all my other Headphones (also Over ear) and with the right equalizer setting they are fucking amazing. To the extend where I rather grap my Nothing ear than my Sennheiser hd580 prec., which is my favourite Headphone.

Nice review but I couldn't disagree more with your conclusion. I have the Nothing Ear and did swit to the Technics. The difference in sound quality is night and day in my opinion. The Nothings are better for working out because they fit better in my ears. But if I'm doing some serious listening, the Technics are far and away the better choice.

My experience has been the exact opposite. Clarity and separation with the Technics are just slightly less than my high end headphones. And for the bass heads, you can mess around with the EQ settings. I don't listen to metal or EDM. The Nothings not only lack bass, they lack clarity as well. I think the Nothings are fine, budget friendly earbuds. I bought them because they're cheap, sound decent enough and I won't mind losing them.

Tops in the under $100.00 are OneBuds 3 Nothing Ear A Soundcore 4nc Earphone Air Pro 4 I'm very partial to the OneBuds 3. I've had two sets for around 6 months and they are all around performers with great sound and phone calls. All the buds listed above punch above their price. The nothing ear uses pinch control, the rest are tap which I prefer.

The Samsung Fe is only IPX2. Not very water resistant. If you are only operating inside in sterile atmosphere like Office And not using while exercising or outside, it might be fine. But for me it's a deal breaker. Wouldn't touch these earbuds. Nothing Ear a is a solid choice.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 for most things, and Nothing Ear if I'm just gonna listen to music. OG Pixel Buds Pro as backup. PBP2 are the most comfortable buds I've ever used, and the battery lasts me from like 6 AM- 2PM on 1 charge with ANC on. The sound quality for music isn't mindblowing, but they sound nice imo. The Nothing Eat sound amazing though, and have phenomenal bass for buds.
