Safety - yes, sound quality - no( good for open ear, not good at all overall). I use Sennheiser Momentum Sport and am happy with it.

I had both, kept the Sennheiser Momentum Sport. Hands down for sound quality and comfort. Once you find the right ear tips you’re good to go. Not using the ones that came with the earbuds. Never had connection issues. Battery is fine, tactile controls works great. These are my go to TWS. Using my Sennheiser for walks, runs, at the office. When I want more critical listening using Pi8.

Well they still sell them. And they are still easily the best active earbuds by a wide margin. But if you can't find them, I'd say honestly the Soundcore X20 is the next best. Very good for a cheaper price. And I know Sennheiser makes the Momentum Sport but I have tried them as well and I can confidently say they're overpriced and underwhelming (imo) *Other suggestions I see might be good earbuds, but the "active" features are critical to me, you can't dump water on your head mid run with just any earbuds.

Does anyone recommend a good pair of earbuds for running that are not only sweat proof but also have fins to stabilize in the ear? My 4th pair of earbuds have just gave out and I'm honestly tired of dealing with expensive earbuds that don't hold up. Here's the ones I've used * Sennheiser momentum sport: latest one, was great until right earbud gave out which I presume to be from sweat * Sennheiser sport true wireless (x2): loved the fins but like the momentum, one earbud gave out after a while. This happened twice * google pixel buds: they don't have fins so they would fall our constantly I do sweat a lot and I think my ears just naturally kick out earbuds so I definitely need fins. Honestly, audio quality isn't as important as long as it doesn't sound like complete crap

Sennheiser Momentum Sports are built for running. They have sensors for body temp and heart rate (NOTE - these sensors only record cardio data if using the "Polar Flow" fitness tracking app - something that most reviews don't make clear enough), and they have specific ANC modes built for wind noise (overall the ANC modes and transparency modes aren't bad - not the best in the industry but not the worst either). Plus as an added bonus - they are "open back" which means the back of the plastic is not sealed shut like most earbuds - instead there is some air holes behind the speaker (technically called a "driver") on the earbud - this design helps reduce that annoying "thudding" sound you hear when jogging with other earbuds. Also they indeed have wingtip bands that you can use to fit your ears better, and sound quality is pretty dang good. HOWEVER beware that the fit may or may not be comfortable for your ears. I REALLY wanted to like these earbuds but they seemed to cause me a bit of discomfort and some pain when wearing for an hour at a time so I ultimately returned mine. Everyone's ears are different so they may work perfectly for you. As such, beware to buy from a trusted vendor with a good return policy, and gently open the box in case you need to return them.

Wow yea after 30 minutes my ears were hurting from wearing them. I mainly bought them for the heart rate and temp sensor thinking they'd be great for my exercise needs.... only to learn that the data ONLY synced with the Polar Flow app, and was not accessible anywhere else! I was so disappointed in them

The biggest difference (from a gym/cardio user) standpoint between the QC2 and the QC-Ultra is the wingtips - the QC2 is still an awesome earbud. But the QC-Ultra adds a tiny 1mm notch to the top of the wingtips rubber band so that it locks into place. A minor complaint about the QC2 is that sometimes the earbud wingtip will rotate and pivot off angle as you mess with them while they're in your ears. It takes a second to remove the earbud and twist the wingtip to the proper position. But the QC-Ultra fixes that minor complaint. Otherwise the sound quality of the QC2 and QC-Ultra is essentially identical, anc is identical. Only real reason to buy the QC-Ultra (aside from the notch on the wingtip) is the fact that it now has immersion mode (kinda like spatial audio), and it has AptX-Adaptive streaming protocol (which isn't available on Samsung or Apple phones anyway so it's useless for most users) But yeah, I cycle daily (really should switch to QC-Ultra Open earbuds for more safety/awareness of my surroundings) wearing my QC-Ultra earbuds for an hour and love em. I jam out to music while getting the heartrate going. Other earbuds to consider would be the Sennheiser Momentum Sport earbuds which have a heart rate and body temp sensor built in (ONLY works if you are using the Polar Flow app on your phone however). They have awesome sound, awesome ANC for fitness users, and the wingtips to lock into the ears. My only complaint was the fit - they seemed to really hurt my ears after 30 minutes of use (like pain a few hours later). My ears are average size but the Momentum Sport actually hurt! So I would suggest you consider them, but only if you can try them out and return them if they don't fit well for your needs.

Check out the Sennheiser Momentum Sport earbuds - they have body temp and heart rate sensors (syncs with Polar Flow app). They have an 'open back' which helps eliminate a lot of that thudding noise when running. They also have good wind noise cancelling

Bose has been making noise-cancelling headphones and earbuds for decades - they also design noise cancelling headphones for aviation pilots. Needless to say, they have been perfecting their ANC algorithms for a LOT longer than other brands. If ANC is key, Bose Quietcomfort ultra is going to be at the top of the list - AS LONG AS you mix/match earbuds and wingtips to find the perfect 'fit' - it could take a few weeks before you get a nice tight seal in the ears. The Sony XM4 earbuds scored quite high on ANC compared to the Bose in real-world testing, but some firmware update from Sony effectively killed the battery life on the XM4 earbuds, and it seems the XM5 also have battery life issues. Jabra has gotten a fair amount of praise as a mid-priced quality earbud. HOWEVER earlier this year Jabra announced they were stepping out of the wireless earbud market - so there is no more hardware or software updates coming from Jabra, and no clue how they'll honor warranty claims if there is one. Sennheiser is really popular all around. The MTW4 are on sale for a good price and perform pretty well. However from my experience with the Momentum Sport earbuds, the ANC works well enough, but not the best I've handled.

I don't know about fit (they were uncomfortable for my ears) - but the Sennheiser Momentum Sports should be on your list to consider (just make sure you can return them in case they are uncomfortable!) They have wingtips that you can swap out to find the right size, they are vented so that you partially eliminate that 'thudding' as you run that you get with closed back earbuds, good wind ANC, good sound quality, and sweat proof. Best of all, the earbuds have body temp and heart-rate sensors built in (NOTE - only records data if you use the Polar Flow fitness app). I really REALLY wanted to like these earbuds, the fit was pretty decent, but for some reason they kinda really hurt my earbuds after 30 minutes of use. I don't know my ears are just shaped weird or what. But you really should consider them (just double-check the return policy first!)

There is a spec called "Sound pressure level" which rates the efficiency of the driver in the earbud. This describes the decibel volume per milliwatt of power provided. Not all drivers are created equal - some are more "efficient" than others. Some earbuds do sound more quiet than other earbuds. Coming from my Bose Quietcomfort2 earbuds, I bought a set of Sennheiser Momentum Sport earbuds and found the same as you - my Momentum sport earbuds were a few notches lower in max volume than my Quietcomfort earbuds. I'd say the sennheiser sport earbuds were about "4 notches" lower on my phone's volume control compared to my Bose Quietcomfort2 earbuds. Now that's not to say my Sennheiser Momentum sport earbuds were terrible - nah they actually did sound pretty good, albeit a bit more quiet. However as others mentioned - MAX volume is actually not always good for your hearing. Last year I stopped wearing earbuds for three months (health reasons) and was surprised how loud my Bose earbuds were - I had to turn down the volume because they were hurting my ears at the time. My point is - even though they may be a smidge lower max volume, that's not necessarily a bad thing and your ears would adapt over time to those earbuds. That said, to answer your question, no not all wireless earbuds are disappointing. I've handled several wireless earbuds and never felt really disappointed - although I do prefer some earbuds over others from a high fidelity standpoint

They're way out of your budget (unless you can find a deal on them in the used markets like eBay), but Sennheiser Momentum Sport earbuds are made for jogging/exercise. You can even use the Polar Flow fitness tracking app to monitor some health stats like heart rate and body temp. Although they were a bit uncomfortable in my ears, so if you have smaller ears I'd probably avoid them. But they were specifically designed to reduce that "thud" noise you hear when jogging with normal earbuds, plus they also have a great "wind noise" cancelling mode which is very helpful on windy days or when bicycling.

Depending on your ears, the Sennheiser Momentum SPORT earbuds have an open-back design to eliminate that thud sound with every step, and they have a wind noise reduction. Plus if you have the POLAR FLOW app on your phone you can track your heart rate and body temp with sensors on the earbuds. Just be sure to buy from somewhere you can return them. I found the earbuds uncomfortable to wear for very long (likely due to the extra sensors) so be sure you can return them if you don't like them. I personally switched from in-ear earbuds to open-ear clip style earbuds for my cardio and gym needs - they stay put without falling out and I can still hear safely the world around me without having to enable 'transparency' mode and rely on microphones to hear the world (which don't work well on windy days anyway). Only downside to the clip earbuds is the lack of ANC capabilities. But dang they are comfortable. I can wear them for 6-8 hours until the battery wears out and experience zero discomfort on my ears

> I can't attest to the sound quality but they are quite expensive ($450 CDN) The Sennheiser Momentum Sport earbuds do have a high MSRP. But it looks like prices are falling from the retailers. I paid $233 earlier this month to try out the Momentum sport earbuds (MSRP in America is $349 I believe). > Cant imagine they sound too bad but keep in mind part of that high cost is for the heart rate monitor tech. Yeah sound wasn't bad - it was a bit lower max volume than my Bose QC2 earbuds, but it was acceptable. The earbuds monitor both heart rate AND body temp - HOWEVER it should be noted that this data can only be recorded using the "Polar Flow" fitness tracker app (the data doesn't sync with any other apps). This was a disappointment for me. My biggest issue was the comfort - for my average size ears they literally caused physical pain after an hour of use (to the point where I couldn't even tap the earbud to skip songs because it was applying more pressure to an already sore spot on my ears). For someone with larger than average ears they probably would be more comfortable but they were essentially useless for me since I couldn't even enjoy an hour long bike ride wearing them (compared to my Bose QC1 and QC2 earbuds which I've worn for hours at a time without any discomfort). Ultimately I returned my Sennheiser sport earbuds because they weren't worth the pain for some sensors which reportedly don't actually provide accurate data (apparently the data doesn't match smart watch data).

The best earbuds for working out have silicone tips. The ones without Ala airpods and galaxy buds 3 are not great at all. I use Bose QC Ultra AND Galaxy Buds3 Pro for the gym. Both are comfy and pretty secure. The Bose are better for ANC. Jabra Elite 10 & Elite 8 actives are also very good. Sennheiser Momentum Sport are fairly new and have the added advantage of little wingtips. They also come with a heart rate sensor built in. All the above do have silicone tips though. So without silicone tips u could something like Shokz or Bose Open buds (forget the exact name). Neither will have ANC and wont block out the rubbish background music that most gyms tend to blast out.

Although there is still some stigma around the brand, having tested dozens of TWS sets the Beats Fit Pro are one of the best, most secure fits for workout/exercise. The ANC is the worst of the Beats and Apple-branded earbuds, but sound quality is excellent and they will never fall out. Other options that are a good fit (depending on your ear shape), Sennheiser Momentum TW 4, Denon Perl Pro, and Sennheiser Momentum Sport -- the Sports are great and currently on sale, but they're not worth the price premium when not on sale, so that's the one caveat here. The Fits Pro represent a good overall value.

Sound: Sennheiser's Momentum lineup, Denon Perl Pros, Technics AZ80/AZ100, and B&W Pi8, in that order (taking into account Sound Personalization and AAT are being used). Everything else on the market, from the typical brands, falls below that line -- APP2, XM5, Bose QC Ultra, etc. Longevity, having tested dozens of these sets, the AirPods Pros are likely to outlast most of the other brands (my first and second gens are still charging well without any discernible issues). I've had battery and charging issues with the XM4s and XM5s, Sennheiser's MTW3 (MTW4 hasn't been on the market long enough to know whether there are any battery longevity issues); Denon is already showing serious battery degradation issues; Technics are in the charging issue camp as well (one or both earbuds often do not charge and need to be reseated often, similar to the Sony's); Pi8 has intermittent connectivity issues. The list goes on. There are outliers like the JLAB Epic Lab Edition, which have excellent battery life and seem to hold up well over time. Surprisingly, these are some of the best sounding and longest lasting buds on the market, for sometimes half the price of competitors. It can't compete with the top brands on tuning, but it gets damn close for the price. At some point, chasing sound quality (and longevity) begs the question, should you just sacrifice wireless connectivity and choose a traditional IEM? Despite owning most of the current premium earbud lineup, I find myself recommending and often daily driving the Epic Labs -- just due to the convenience of the battery life alone. And if that battery starts to degrade, there's enough overhead where I could still potentially get a good amount of time out of them before the issues are untenable.

The Sennheiser Momentum Sport is so far the single best pair of earbuds I've ever owned. They have 8/10 audio, 7.5/10 ANC, 7.5/10 battery life, and a case that fits in a pocket but come at a very premium price. Why do I think they absolutely dominate every other earbud in the market today? Because they stay in my fucking ears, no matter what. They have stabiliser fins that mean running for a train, exercising, getting bumped in a crowd of people, or just walking at a normal pace doesn't come at the cost of an extremely expensive piece of tech just falling out of my ear. The only other option in the market today that's actually designed to stay in an ear with more than just the power of faith is the Sony Linkbuds Fit, but the case seems to have been modelled after George Costanza's wallet.

They are good for sport activities, hence the name yes :) Solid sound, good and secure fit, IP54, different tips (focus and aware), good battery life etc. They are very cheap now as well because they are a bit old already and the new Momentum Sport exist! Their biggest downside for you might be that they don’t have proper ANC! They only use passive isolation for that. So, if ANC is important for you, they might not be the best option, despite being good sport buds for an attractive price these days.

I'm still using these for exercise in 2025. The semi open (aware) tips are great for running, as you don't get any booming/thumping effect from your footsteps. Plus you can hear your surroundings without having to use an artificial transparency mode. The tuning is definitely bass-heavy, but I don't mind that when working out. The fins also work great for keeping them in my ears, whereas the Momentum Sport ones didn't work at all for me.

PB 2 has a lot of new functions. But the sound is awful. It is inferior to the previous and definitely inferior to the Sennheiser Sport which I have. I have used the PB original for 6 years because the hooks stay in my ears so I couldn't wait for an upgrade. But after 6 days I sent them back. the high / treble is painful and tinny. The lows don't exist. It is lighter so it moves easily and dislodges the sweet spot for fit. You raise the volume and it is shrill almost and feels like it will destroy your ears, you keep the volume low and you don't hear anything in the low range. They have sacrificed sound for a whole bunch of functionality that many people will not even use. I can't they released it with sound quality like this.

I enjoyed the OG pixel buds, but they conked out and the next gen didn't have the little wing tips which I didn't trust them to stay in without. I went with Senheiser Sport True Wireless in the end. They're clucky but reliable. Adjustable wing tips. Good sound and seal. No ANC - but I don't notice traffic noise with music on. Big touch sensor for switching through play lists and adjusting volume while mid run. Decent battery life. I've run in pouring rain and sweaty heat with them and they're fine. Still going strong two years later, they're pretty resilient - even after being dropped a couple dozen times. The case is quite bulky though so I leave it at home and unless they're in the case they have a weird habit of playing by themselves which runs the battery down.

Oppo Enco X3s (when you are able to buy them in the UK) are cheaper, but absolutely superb. The X2s are some of my favourite ever earbuds. Sennheiser momentums are also very good. Bose quiet comforts are decent but quality wise don't keep up with the above three. Airpods are overpriced and are whitegirl apple product bait. The Sony earbuds noise cancelling is weak and the case battery fails after 12 months for a lot of people.

Sennheiser momentum, on offer now for less than £200, were 300 when they came out. Theyre somehow better than my big bose quietcomfort pair

I find them pretty comfortable, actually. Personally, I prefer them to the Sennheiser ones. They don't disappear in your ear quite like Airpods or Pixel Buds, so there's a slight pressure feeling at first. But with the Sennheiser TW, I actually had earaches, so these are way better for me." Edit: i Hope i understood your question correctly, my English isn't that good

Sennheiser True Wireless Buds and QCY Ailybuds Pro+.. I prefer the Qcys because they are semi inear which fits better to ne and the nc is working nice for that budget earbud. Also the Call quality is better than sennheisers in my opinion ✌🏼
