Getting the right fit takes a bit of time but other then that; great buds! Great audioquality, great ANC and they never fall out; even without the fins
Mine are ok, and sound good quality. Although no anc or awareness really so a bit of a con and they are the most fiddly buds I've ever owned, turn up or off at the slightest touch. I won't buy them twice, but they're not bad.
I'd love them more, but they were designed for athletic activities, and they don't get nearly as loud as they should for things like running outdoors etc. Mine collect dust, because I want immersion when I run or lift, and I just don't get that with a high medium volume. I do agree though, the sound signature is wonderful.
Personally i don't reccommend over ear headphones for exercise, they're clunky and you can get a lot of sweat buildup, especially in summer which is gross, uncomfortable and not great for electronics. Wireless earbuds all the way. Look for options with a good IP rating. For IP ratings the second number relates to water resistance. 4 is okay but 5 or higher is better for exercise due to the aforementioned sweat. I have the Sennhiser momentum sport ear buds. Brought them cheap despite mixed reviews. They sound great and are comfortable and stay in place. Noise cancelling is so/so but good enough for the gym.
I orderd my Momentum Sports almost a year ago and I m still raving about them. For a very unexpected reason! I just bought them coz, I needed sport buds and I saw a super low offer online. Once I unpacked them though I was super surprised: They are in my view the best ANC in-ear choice if you’re really into audiophile listening. Their soundprofile is very special and hard to find: the voice is a slight bit taken back. The orchestration or band is fully there. Super clean sound, punchy drums, crisp and clear zimbles or triangles. Eg in “Lazarus” by David Bowie or “Listen to your heart” by Durand Jones they are amongst the very few headphones that get the drums right with a dry and present punch. Once I had them I went through my whole catalogue of music again, because they gave all my songs a completely new experience. They simply stage all the details in a super clean and pleasent way. It s all there, clear yet not over-bearing or sharp. They don’t tire you, the draw you in. Turns out I use them for Jazz even more than for sports. “You’re getting a habit with me” by Eliane Elias: you have the bass, the snare, the piano, the voice: it all comes together seamlessly. They are not euphoric, but they stage everything in a unique and fantastic way that makes you want to listen to more and more songs, simply because they give you the whole idea of the song. They even made listen to rock again. “Sober” by Tool eg. You have the heavy bass, the hard hitting drums driving the song forward and hoovering above both the e-guitar. And yes: they easily have enough bass for sports too. They have an extra big 10mm driver after all vs 7mm in the TWS 4. Using the 5 band EQ I was able to tweak them perfectly. Other than that: \- the sound zones work smoothly (you can set geo-fences with different EQ settings. EG bass-profile for the gym, my Jazz setting for home) \- the fins work perfectly for me. I never had one dropping out my ear, when working out. And I do jumps a lot. \- battery life never ran out. And I clearly prefer their sound-profile over the Momentum TWS 4. I wish Sennheiser would get this sound-profile to some of their other headphones as well. The 630 HDB eg sound muddy in comparison I find. I ve been smitten for a year now and I needed to get this out there, because think they are still the must over-looked in-ear ANCheadphones for music-enthuthiasts at the moment.
I guess it depends what your looking for. I like it, because it is clear and strong. But it s not booming like maybe in other Sports-Earphones such as beats. But it certainly gets deep and rumbling. My reference song for deep bass is always ‘Love me’ by Mykki Blanco. It certainly delivers there. And that is without the bass-boost activated. I think ‘Swimming Pools’ bu Kendrick Lamar is always a great test song - coz it has the deep bass as well as that whip crack. You can also activate the bass-boost on top of that. With 10mm they have a significantly bigger driver than the TWS 4. But my argument for these headphones is the extremely great balance across the whole range. They present the whole arrangement, without emphasis on vocals or cheap tricks. Which makes them an easily overlooked audiophile headphone in my eyes, One that is precise and clear, yet has great bass and dry drums. If you are however looking for driving big bass for workouts and want to blast your ears, then there probably are louder and more emotional sounding choices.
I agree, they sound excellent. I replaced my Momentum TW 3's with these as I loved the sound but the momentums would start to slide out on longer runs. I adored the Momentum TW sound, and I love the sound of sports. I also ended up downgrading my Garmin from an Epix Gen 2 to a second hand Instinct Crossover (physical watch hands and very long battery life). The crossover's heart rate tracking is good for steady cardio, but was slow to respond in weight exercises. But as I had the Momentum sports, the heart rate tracker paired flawlessly everytime and is very accurate for weight training. So it ended up being the best of both worlds. Unfortunately the left bud stopped playing music and returned them to Amazon. Purchased the JBL Tour Pro 3's to try something different. They sound good, but just don't have that twinkle of magic Sennheiser gives. Plus I'm already having left ear bud issues where it doesnts charge at all. I think this post is going to make me go back to the Sennheiser's.
