I've the mtw3 and momentum headphones. Plenty of reviewers say the mtw4 is similar to the mtw3. Yes the battery is improved, but like you said auracast is useless for now, so that's moot right? I've also rocked the beoplay ex, ath twx9, denon perl pro. Also had the jbl tp2. Looking to get the bw pi8 in near future. I dont criticise the sound, because they're subjective. I might like something, but it wont fit others. Why should I stop obsessing over features? If I have to stop, then maybe you should stop obsessing over bass? Features aren't subjective like sound. Some people may prefer features than bass. Nothing wrong with that. Just like there is nothing wrong with wanting bass. You want me to stop talking about one thing, but you want to keep talking about your own thing. Interesting. Mtw4 isn't bad sounding dont get me wrong (i love my mtw3), but for the price, you're essentially getting a reliable mtw3. So yeah they're very much meh (in terms of value). Why pay an overpriced mtw3? Hell they've 2 year warranty and some countries even replace the mtw3 with the 4 eventually. And then by that time, auracast may be an actual feature. I loved the 3, but I had one die on me outside of warranty. Do the 4s have a similar issue or have they fixed that? I would love to get the 4, because of how freaking amazing the mtw3 was. Best noise cancelling for my use case

Oh man, it’s been a hot minute since I owned those, but I didn’t like them much. I found the tuning pretty wonky and the housing was huge and uncomfortable. Bad ANC too. I’d take the AKGs over them any day.

Lmao yeah they’re pretty shit. I think the only thing I remember liking was the neat fabric case, just because it was unusual. You’ll be well-served with this upgrade.

Maybe because of their garbage quality. Momentum 3 & 4 have a known issue with the batteries dying suddenly. Got my momentum 3 replaced two times within two years. The third pair died a few weeks after the 2 year warranty ended. Could have gotten then replaced if I fought for it, but couldn't be bothered anymore. Shame because they were otherwise great!

Hello i too have issues with these earpieces. i used to have the 3, now 4 but i wear protective headgear over my ears. this worked with the 3 but now with the 4 they disconnect and shutdown when covered this way. it is a functionality i am missing dearly.

Sennheiser momentum 3, pixel buds pro, pixel buds pro 2, Sony XM4 and listened to 5. It's impossible for them to be "terrible" because I hear nothing with them in when I did with all the others. Either you're extra sensitive or have a shit seal with them.

I am having similar problems and am about to send my MTW3, 4, and M4 overheads. The MTW3 and the M4 were only replaced at Christmas, and the MTW4 I got at launch. I see a similar problem where in my case the right ear has stopped working. It's still powering up and connecting, but no sound. My biggest issue is that now you, (Sennheiser) will only recognise the original proof of sale so even if every set breaks they'll only replace up to the 2 years on the original purchase. I don't think so!!! Every time they are replaced we quite rightfully should get 2 year warranty on the new pairs!! I'm just waiting for the special edition M4 to pack up now. Sonova you really need to get it together. Obviously I've been a loyal Sennheiser fan but you either need to sort out reliability or honour warranties. I too will be steering clear from now on!!!

I've tried the Sony, Sennheiser, and Technics from that list. Sennheiser (Momentum 3): Very good sound quality, but they broke after a couple of months. Also, even after owning them for about a year, the ear fins made my ears sore during longer listening sessions. Great sound, but not the most reliable or comfortable. Sony: I bought the Sony earbuds to replace the Sennheisers. While the sound was good, the foam ear tips were annoying, and they didn’t support the ear well, leading to discomfort. Like the Sennheisers, they made my ears sore after longer periods. I ended up returning them after just a few days. Technics AZ80: These were my favorite out of the ones I tried. Very comfortable with good ear support, and the sound quality was excellent. Sadly, one earbud jumped out of my ear into a river while I was running, so that ended that. Now, I'm using the Nothing Ear (2). Honestly, I would recommend the Nothing Ear (2) over all the others. It offers basically the same sound quality at half the price, and the app experience is much better than Technics'. Summary: All of them have good sound quality. Sennheiser sounds great but has reliability issues and uncomfortable ear fins. Sony has good sound but uncomfortable ear tips and poor fit. Technics are the best overall for comfort and sound. Nothing Ear (2) delivers about 95% of the Technics experience, has a better app, and costs half as much.

Do you have a preference based on battery performance and overall ease of use? I have the Momentum 3 and they have the best sound of any earbuds I've ever had, BUT I've had a series of technical issues with them that has me looking for alternatives. Even though I have the touch controls turned off in the app, they won't actually disengage so I have so many times thoughtlessly put my hair behind my ear (during a work call) only to have the headphones drop the call, or the volumes goes way way down. I've had to factory reset them many times because they stop holding a charge, and recently the right one keeps just dropping bluetooth and I have to smack/tap on it or put it back in the box for a minute to get it to reconnect. They are outside of the warranty at this point.

Here’s my honest take: Skip Sony this time (trust me, I get it) and grab the Sennheiser Momentum 3. They’re perfect for workouts—super secure fit, IPX4 sweat resistance, and ANC that drowns out traffic noise like a champ. Battery’s 7hrs (28hrs with case), so no mid-run panic. Sound is rich and detailed, way better than AirPods if you’re not deep in Apple’s ecosystem. AirPods Pro 2 do have great ANC, but they’re finicky on Android (no custom EQ, features locked). Momentum 3’s feel premium, stay put during sprints, and their ANC competes with Sony’s. Only downside? The case is a brick. But if you want no repeats of battery drama and buds that survive rain/sweat? Sennheiser’s your move. i paid 150 (used) and i like them, BUT!!! i need silicone covers for them becuase they do not hold very well in the ear, thanks to the stupid non-matte finish, theyre pretty slick aliexpress gon deliver i guess, otherwise theyre good, i dont see much difference to the sennheiser MTW3 if im honest, slightly, but not big. i replaced them with the sonys, as the right one broke out of nowhere

Can get the tozo crystal pods for 21.42 shipped to your door. I currently own those, soundcore liberty 4 , samsung galaxy buds 2 pro and sennheiser momentum 3.... its unreal to me how good the tozo are at only 19.99 plus tax. I will never spend big money on a pair of earbuds again

Shit no it ain't or thats what I've learned can get the tozo crystal pods 20 bucks or the earfun free pro 3bfor like 37 to 55 bucks depending on sale .. I don't even grab my sennheiser momentum 3 or my galaxy buds 2 pro anymore .. these are just better especially battery life on the tozos

This post might get deleted but I'll still vent out my frustration. I got the momentum true wireless 3 last year in February, I loved everything about them at first, the comfort, noise canceling and especially sound quality were all great but unfortunately they broke within 3 months, I've sent them in with warranty and got a replacement unit, which yet again only lasted me 5 months, after which the right earbud started making an unbearable screeching noise with ANC on. Got a second replacement which YET AGAIN, only lasted about 5 months, after which the left earbud's driver just completely died, it was still connecting and it was recognized in the app but it wasn't outputting any sound. I called again to make a warranty claim and they offered as replacement the momentum true wireless 4, reassuring me that sennheiser fixed the problems of the TW3 and improved quality control with These. I got the TW4 in July, and now in less than THREE MONTHS the left earbud died again. I called in again and this TIME I requested them to just replace it with literally anything else than sennheiser, the company I bought them from sells products from multiple brands, so I'll be sending these in and get the bose quietcomfort instead. Sennheiser, NEVER AGAIN.

I had that awful high pitched sound with my first pair of TW3, and it got progressively worse to the point where it became unusable.

Might be some kind of short, I heard a popping sound while I was using them and then the left earbud had no sound, it happened in an instant.

I had 4 pair of sennheiser TW break within 1,5 years. First 3 pairs were the TW3, and 4th pair was the TW4 as replacement, it lasted me less than 3 months before the left earbud died completely...

It has an incredible audio although the microphone is not so good, the noise cancellation is acceptable but the left side microphone died anyway and the 2-year warranty is over in which they changed the MTW3 3 times and almost at the end of the warranty the MTW4 which after 6 months the left side died and so I was left without Sennheiser.

I started with the momentum tws 2, gave up after 3rd warranty ( one of the earbuds died every ~3 months), got the momentum tws 3 instead when it came out, that one lasted maybe 4 months. I wish you that these new ones are better quality. I switched to sonys, I have 6000+ hours in my first pair and they are still like new ( except a slightly reduced battery life, which is acceptable after 1k+ charge cycles), which is more than the cumulative hours I had in all my sennheisers, never looking back.

They get a bad rap, and the charging/case drain is annoying, but I still love the sound on my mtw3

I have had a few sets and so far so good, i had a set of elite 4 actives which i bought because of the waterproof rating, i wear them literally to go to the sauna where i sit for hours, then have a shower with them in then go into the plunge pool (all the way under) then back into the sauna. i do this daily for about an hour or 2 they lasted about 9 months of that which i thought was pretty impressive honestly, most other earbuds die pretty fast in those environments. they technically still work but they have started getting a little funky in the software department. I have a pair of elite 7 active which i use as sleep buds because theyre low profile and again, no issues, sometimes the process of updating is a little weird but like, it does it... eventually, By comparison i got a pair of XM4's and they had something wrong with the speaker that made it sound like there was a ringing whenever i moved my head, coughed etc. Sony gave me the run around on those even though its a well documented issue I have also just sent back a pair of Momentum TW3 because one earbud just like, died, wont charge any more, those also had a really dicky case where if the buds got just a little bit of ear crud on them they wouldnt charge - again a well known and documented issue, all you had to do was clean the buds and theyd work again but like, i shouldnt have to play roulette once every 2 - 3 weeks on whether my buds will work. Last pair ill comment on is Momentum TW2's, they were pretty good and i still use them but when i work out in them, sometimes one ear will like, lose power, not totally, its still playing but theres no bass, the volume is low, then randomly 2 - 3 mins later they go normal again then they die again and repeat... it was really weird. TLDR: Jabra have been good to me in the 3 pairs i have owned, by comparison every time i spend 400 - 500 on a pair of buds (AUD) they have been pretty fuckin trash..

I just sent in my 3s under warranty, they are replacing with 4s.

As a Sony WH-1000XM4 owner, no way I'll ever buy earbuds that are made by this shit company. I mean yeah, the sound quality is nice, but the hardware/software quality is absolutely dogshit, I started experiencing the first issues with noise cancelling after only 3 months of using the earbuds. Now, after a year+ the issues only got worse and I regret my decision to replace Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 with this piece of poop everyday.

I love the Sennheiser sound and have had all of their earbuds. If I was buying today, i would consider the B&Wpi8's and maybe the Divialet, although i hate the way the Divialet look. Probably between the B&W and the Sennys. Your list is pretty good though.

Also, if budget is important, Woot also has Sennheiser MTW3's for $99. They were my gym buds for years. Loved them

I had Momentum TW 3 then after 17 months the left earbud stopped working/ it wouldn’t pair. As they were still under the manufacturer warranty I sent them back to the Amazon repair shop. 4 weeks later I received not the original TW 3 but a new pair of the TW4. I’ve not yet had the chance to use them to any extent.the sound quality is very good tho. Fingers crossed they last as there only covered by the original warranty so I’ve only 7 months warranty remaining..

Yeah same with my 3. I hadn't charged them in a while and they were completely dead. One of the ear buds wouldn't charge up and I read that this is a common issue with them as the battery in the bud itself completely died and only way to fix it is to open it up and replace the battery. I can't be bothered with this. 

I started with the MTW3 which were worse than the MTW4 in terms of reliability and pretty much went through 5 pairs till they ended up giving me the MTW4 under warranty. So far I've had the MTW4 for 7 months and they seem to be holding up a bit better, but I better not jinx it. Sound wise they are okay but lack the instrument separation that you can get on the Denon Perl Pro and AZ80. I have the Denon Perl Pro which are by far the best sounding earbuds I have tried so far. Good soundstage and instrument separation. Also the stand out thing about their sound is the immersive feel you get out of them. However you may start getting white noise issues in ANC or Ambient mode with the earbuds, and I'm currently waiting for a replacement for that issue. I also got the AZ80s which are somewhat similar to the Denon Perl Pro in terms of soundstage and instrument separation, but lacks the immersiveness of the Denon Perl Pro. Can't say much about reliability though.

You have had two pairs of the MTW 4? I have the MTW 3 and my right earphones is completely fucked, I have terrible connectivity and interference at times and I can't even use them properly in Teams at work without having to literally have the recording tab in the sound control page in Windows to force through hands free mode.

I had sennheisers MTW 3 fail twice on me, and being in Russia have no warranty.  I'm not giving another dollar to this company. The left speaker failed (started squeaking) and I replaced it and now  one year later  it failed again. The mesh on the driver just got detached on both earbuds, because it had very flimsy glue that melted with body temperature. Perhaps the second failure was related to dirt getting into the earbud eventually, because the mesh came off. The battery life deteriorated on both the headphones but especially on the case in just over a year. There have been so many reports elsewhere about this model failing that at this point I have just had enough.

I had the exact same problem as OP with my momentum 3s. Insanely loud weird high pitched screeching noise when anc kicked on. I started an RMA and then had to travel for work and never got around to initiating it. Seems like you acknowledge these are flawed. Are you honoring RMAs?

+1 from me My mom got me a pair of TW3s from the UK which died within 8 months. They were replaced under warranty with another pair of TW3s which died within 5 months and they replaced those with the TW4s which have been running fine for 3 months now but i'm still not hopeful Both times one of my two earbuds permanently turned off and did not connect or play any sound despite trying various kinds of software and hardware resets. If this one fails i'm just asking for a refund honestly

My MTW3s lasted 2 weeks and I couldn't get a warranty claim until 6 months later. When I finally sent them to warranty it took a month for the whole thing to happen and I finally recieved MTW 4 replacements. I'm just waiting on them to die on me again atp I already know its coming its just a matter of when. I'm already getting some weird glitches like a sudden popping sound, followed by normal sounding audio. I'm afraid its getting to beginning stages of having to send that shit back again.

I had 2 pairs of 3s. After the second warranty repair, they sent me 4s which I'm now on my second pair which need to send back. I've just bought a pair of the nothing buds because I'm in no rush to get a new set of momentum's now

I've tested Samsung Buds, AirPods, Jabra (from 75t which are my favorites to the newer Jabra Elite 10 Gen1), Redmi Buds 4 Pro, Xiaomi Buds, Sony XM5, Pixel Buds Pro, Technics AZ60M2EK... My choice was Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3, as they fit every checkbox (Technics had the best audio quality but suffered from leakage, all the office can hear what I'm listening to, same for Pixel Buds).

For true wireless, I've found Sennheiser Momentum true wireless very comfortable. I just got my hands on some of them series and they have been great. I find the fit the best and I use them for hours for music and work. For these. You find the tip that has a secure fit and then rotate the whole bud back into the ear. If you want active noise cancellation and top of the line, I recommend these, either the Momentum TW 3 or TW 4. You can find the 4s at best buy for $250 now. I've tried others at the top end including older models of the Sony WF..XM series and they were not nearly as comfortable. I also have a pair of Pixel Buds Pro that I do find comfortable but have trouble with the seal and active noise cancellation being weak, especially when I'm commuting via the train. If you buy from best buy, you can return if they don't work (it's how I was able to try the Sony's before I returned them).

So I had similar problems with the older model, the first series. I got the 3s for about 1/3 the price so decided gave em a try again. They've been much, much better and I dual connect with my Pixel 8 and a MacBook Pro. Only issue I have is if I'm using my MBP and do something on my phone that plays audio, I lose the audio only laptop.

MTW 3 went dead within 6 months swap them out for Sony xm5 and never looked back

Loved the sound but they broke quite easily. Sennheiser support was fine until my warranty expired. Now they don’t want to repair them even if I ask to pay for it. And I was very very carful with them, even have a specific protection.

Look at the sennheiser momentum true wireless 3. People were complaining about the sound signature. They had an update. As soon as I did the update they sounded so much better and the anc is pretty good too. Sonys probably have better noise canceling.

I’ve tried a few pairs, not any of the ones shown but mainly the beyerdynamics free bird. Sennheiser momentum 3 and4 and the Samsung galaxy buds 2. The momentum’s sound better to me than the other two. Battery life is really good anc got better on the 4 and they don’t have a true eq but there is a sound personalization thing that works pretty well. They would be my recommendation

I went with the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 and honestly, I’m super happy with them. The sound is just next-level, really clear, detailed, and balanced. You can actually hear the layers in your music, which is what I was looking for. Noise canceling is pretty solid too. Not quite as aggressive as Bose, but it gets the job done, especially in places like cafes or on the train. They fit well, feel premium, and the app lets you tweak the sound a bit, which I love.

They have great balanced sound and strong bass. I was surprised how much improved they are over the MTW3s. Also the B&W PI 5 S2 had amazing bass but I can’t speak for the newer models

I had MTW3 in the past. They broke down within a year. I think Sennheiser has some quality issues with their MTW series. Recently purchased Technics AZ100’s. They sound very good in my opinion. There are some EQ presets, but you can also tune the EQ to your own taste. ANC and battery life are very good. They have something called: voice focus Ai, on calls disturbing noises are filtered away. My home is being renovated, lots of drilling and stuff. When on a phone I call the other side hears nothing of the construction noises. Only remarks I get are: You sound like you have a cold or being congested. A bit of a nasal sound apparently. They are on the expensive side, almost 300,- euros.

My mtw3 are unreliable af. Within a year the first round, one of the buds stopped charging. Was migrating during this period and had to get it replaced. Second round now, within the next year, the ANC mics have gone to shit and chirps on using ANC and during calls (ANC on by default). Love the sound but having to switch to another buds now because its almost unusable. No warranty since original warranty period is gone. Thinking of switching to xm5s since xm3 was my alternative option two years back when I got my senns.

How about reliability? I had to return a Jabra set due to a volume mismatch, two pairs of MTW3s due to battery issues, and now I have store credit, but I’m a bit gun shy of the MTW4s. The AZ100s seem great and are the exact same price as the MTW4s in my location, but I’d really like to know which model is more likely to die an untimely death? I look after my gear - all the issues above were not the result anything I did, they just failed, fortunately all within their respective warranty periods. What’s the most likely thing to go wrong with each? Everything that has been reported (chirping, volume imbalance, flat battery) went wrong on both pairs of my MTW3s, I was able to fix all of them except the battery issue.

I currently own a pair of MTW3, MTW4 and WH1000xm4. One thing I dislike about them, is that when using only one earphone, the right one is dominant. I usually leave it only in the left ear, so that means that I either have to have both in at once, the right one in my pocket or just not have them in at all. Just my 0.02€, if anyone reading this is persuaded to switch. :)

Same. Those WERE my second fave after the Bowers PI7... Then came the 8's, which were good but not like the Sennheiser MTW3. Currently using my tried and true Bose QC II and the Technics AZ80's. This is my second pair of the Bose. I sold the first ones and picked up another after about a year of missing them and toying with other brands along the way. Still want to grab a set of Beoplay EX just out of curiosity. I've had the EQ's but i still want to see what it's all about with the stem form.

My 3's stopped taking charge after a couple of months. Shame cause they had really good sound but won't buy another sennheiser earbud until they vastly improve them.

Just got my Momentum True Wireless 3 replaced today. Both earbuds stopped working within 6 months. It took almost a month to get the replacement sorted out. I bought the 3s and went thru three pairs in two months until the 4s came out. Surprising no one, the 4s has the exact same issues. So incredibly frustrating since I loved them but they were more of a pain than anything else. I seriously doubt I'll ever get an senn product again after that

I think they sound pretty bad compared to most buds...call me biased, but I actually prefer the JBL tuning for music and I tried a few, including the Momentum 3 & 4... I got them for $100 sealed so...it's okay. Interestingly, despite being smaller are less comfortable to sleep with and fall out of my ears quicker than the PBP1... I also find that when sweat...they tend to slide out of my ears. Haven't found yet the perfect buds. What I appreciate the most: -transparency ( seems that nobody is challenging this) - case ( wished more manufacturers would make a case as small as this and as well balanced and shaped... But again...sound quality... pretty bad, sorry...

Very interesting... I bought the Momentum 3 TWS at a great price recently but these look nice... and multipoint!

I considered the Accentum TW... had mixed reviews... but Sennheiser has the Momentum 3 TW for less money than Accentum, and I if they have problems they are replacing them for Momentum 4 TW, so a no brainer for me, had them for the last 4 months. Momentum 3 TW are great.

I went through a similar process with the TW2's. The left earbud would cut in and out and eventually stop working 3 different times, the last time being a month past the 2 year warranty. I will give it up to Sennheiser for always replacing them after I covered the shipping back to them each time. I now have the TW3's which I don't use often as I now use Airpods Pro 2's. I actually purchased the extended warranty on those just in case I had the same trouble as with the Sennheisers. But, it's been a year and a half and I haven't had any issues. The sad part is that I own quite a few pairs of other Sennheiser headsets and they have all been rock solid. It is just the earbuds that have proven to be highly unreliable. The logical conclusion is that I was hard on them and caused the issues. But I take care of my stuff. Hence all the other headphones working just fine over many years and the Airpods holding up.

I went through three pairs of the TW3 last year, never again

Sennheiser Momentum 3 TW. Before that, I had the Momentum 2. Sound quality is out of this world, and the 3's connect so much faster than the 2's. Only issue is that there's no multi-point. But, I'll definitely getting the TW 4's soon

I've had Sennheiser Momentum TW 2, 3 and 4. In fact, I bought the 3's twice. Sound quality is fantastic, and didn't have any issues until the TW4, when people started complaining that they couldn't hear me. Apparently, was having some mic issues. Then, they would disconnect in the middle of a call. So, I finally decided to try something new. Got the Sony XM5,s about 2 weeks ago and couldn't be more happy. I have a decent amount of high-end earbuds, and a few sets immediately come to mind. First would be the Sennheiser Momentum 3 & 4. Awesome sound quality and truly great ANC. Secondly would be both the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC and Liberty 4 Pro. Very good sound quality and top tier ANC. I could flip a coin between these two and be fine either way.

True. I love my Momentum 3s, plus the sound quality is great. If there's one thing that I've learned, it's that spending more doesn't always equate to a better product. I have the Sony XM4s, but I was disappointed with them, so I went for the XM5s, and I was even more disappointed. The Sennheisers have been great, but for some reason, I'm always having trouble getting them to connect for calls. Other than that, they've been very good.

Unless you're already using it, you should definitely try the Sound Personalization setting. It brings these buds to life like nothing I've tried before. I usually always stay away from anything that isn't the customizable EQ, but just for the Sennheiser Momentum 3/4, it's a completely different ballgame. I keep mine set around 5 o'clock and about 1/8th of an inch away from the edge. Give it a shot. I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed.

I almost didn't bother because with every other set of earbuds I've tried these settings with, it's always been more of a gimmick, but with the Sennheiser, it was truly a night-and-day difference.

Wow, that's a tough one. Honestly, I could probably flip a coin between the Sennheiser and the Liberty 4 Pro. If ANC wasn't as much of a priority over music, then I'd definitely go with the Liberty 3 Pro. The ANC isn't as good as any of these, but the sound quality is tops.

I've tried many, and some of the best are the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC, Liberty 4 Pro, Edifier Neobuds Pro 2, and the Sennheiser Momentum 3/4. Unfortunately, I've never tried the Bose, but I have the Sony XM4/5, and they didn't impress me.

This happened to my MTW3s 4 times!!! Thankfully by the 4th time I was offered the 4s and so far so good. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing happened. My hypothesis: I think the -bluetooth connection- interacts with certain metals and becomes permanently damaged. I was wearing cheap rings around the first few times this happened and I’m always fussing with the fit in my ears, while comfortable, I want the seal to be perfect, mind my OCD lol. That’s my hypothesis, whenever I touch my earbuds to adjust them I can hear a bit of feedback or white noise as if the connection is disrupted albeit briefly. If this, mixed with a tether such as cheap metal like my rings or (even my friends earrings, because the last time the 3s broke, she heard the loudest screeching noise and had to throw it to the ground. She always wore long dangly earrings. I do want to add after this, one earbud went dead but you could always hear a chirping noise in the dead one. Sounded like a little tiny bird. I hope it doesn’t happen to my 4s cause I love them.

I use the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. If u have a late model Galaxy, these are the best choice imo. I have an S24 Ultra, and all the features they bring with them are great. Their ambient mode is on par if not better than the latest Ipods Pro. ANC is great as well. I wouldn't say it's the best on the market, but it's definitely good. Sound is definitely up there. I had Sennheiser MTW3's a while back, which sounded amazing, and these sound almost identical. I got lucky and picked up a brand new sealed set locally from FB Marketplace for only $150 from somebody that got them in the last promo for free when buying the ZFold 6.

This same happened to me also: Bought MTW3 and after 6 months the other bud stopped charging. The faulty pair got replaced by the shop I bought them(After they send it to repair and they lost it there lmao). I got a new pair of mtw4 which have been working perfectly( about 5 months) until last week when the right bud started to make a small crackling noise and then the sound disappeared. The bud connects to the phone and I can control the sound, and the led indicator is on but the sound is not heard at all. I went back to the shop where I bought the originals and am trying to get a replacement. Luckily the warranty is still valid...

From Australia..same exact experience. Two MTW3 (original and replaced which I got a different color than the one I purchased by the way) and a MTW4 also left earbud went dead. So bad quality

Went through 3 pairs of the 3’s, not a big deal as I could get same day replacements, albeit a hassle. Had the 4’s for a month, let’s see how they go. Not holding my breath

I bought the TW3's 23 months ago. They no longer work. The case charges but neither buds do. Sennheiser doesn't even list momentum line on their website product line anymore, the chat is and has been non functioning, and there is no way to contact them. The Momentum line supposedly is being handled by Sonova now (the parent company), but I have not been able to reach them after a week of trying. The customer support is non-existent at this point. I was on hold for Sonova again today for an hour and a half before I gave up.

Sound: Sennheiser's Momentum lineup, Denon Perl Pros, Technics AZ80/AZ100, and B&W Pi8, in that order (taking into account Sound Personalization and AAT are being used). Everything else on the market, from the typical brands, falls below that line -- APP2, XM5, Bose QC Ultra, etc. Longevity, having tested dozens of these sets, the AirPods Pros are likely to outlast most of the other brands (my first and second gens are still charging well without any discernible issues). I've had battery and charging issues with the XM4s and XM5s, Sennheiser's MTW3 (MTW4 hasn't been on the market long enough to know whether there are any battery longevity issues); Denon is already showing serious battery degradation issues; Technics are in the charging issue camp as well (one or both earbuds often do not charge and need to be reseated often, similar to the Sony's); Pi8 has intermittent connectivity issues. The list goes on. There are outliers like the JLAB Epic Lab Edition, which have excellent battery life and seem to hold up well over time. Surprisingly, these are some of the best sounding and longest lasting buds on the market, for sometimes half the price of competitors. It can't compete with the top brands on tuning, but it gets damn close for the price. At some point, chasing sound quality (and longevity) begs the question, should you just sacrifice wireless connectivity and choose a traditional IEM? Despite owning most of the current premium earbud lineup, I find myself recommending and often daily driving the Epic Labs -- just due to the convenience of the battery life alone. And if that battery starts to degrade, there's enough overhead where I could still potentially get a good amount of time out of them before the issues are untenable.

Yep, returned Sennheiser MTW 3 two times, the third time asked for a refund. Its a shame, the sound quality was really great as well as the noise cancellation, but they couldnt work for a few months in a row without an issue...

Had the same issue with MTW3 and i am 100% sure that battery wasn't a problem. My understanding from audio gear experience is that its a poor quality of drivers. Something is ungluing inside, like parts of drivers and connections. Always crackling. First left bud died after 9 months then 4 months later right died. Receiving MTW4 tomorrow but want to sell them for 250 cad and get something else. Had at least 10 different pairs of Sennheiser headphones that were wired and i didnt have a problem except for HD650 that had faulty headphone wires... After Sonova took over Sennheiser the whole company went to the bin...

Thank you for these informations! I was using Sennheiser Momentum TWS 3 and the delay was ok. But the left side stopped charging, so I will have to get something else. The problem with the TWS 3 was they did not fit me. At the moment, my Lenovo tablet has an 3.5mm jack. If I switch my tablet, I probably just use a USB-C to 3.5mm converter.

They replace my Sennheiser TW3 and I love them. Support for a range of connection protocols and I am lucky they fit me perfect. I got them for 50 bucks on Amazon.

I have an identical issue, replaced my MTW3 twice, both stopped working after a few months, connectivity issues and beeping noises on the right ear, third time now and given the MTW4, no volume all of a sudden on right ear and unbearable screeching noise. Quite sick of replacing something every few months.

I have nothing ear 2024. After manual eq it sounds decent for the price but not even close to my Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 details wise

I had momentum 3, incredible sound quality... But like someone already mentioned it, they die easy. Can't handle a single drop pretty much.

To add to the discussion.I bought two pairs for me and my girlfriend.On the first the right bud has no sound .I hear only some scratches when touching the touch panel.After only a month!The second had wave like feedback again in right earbud.Both sent for rma to the store that bought them and we got new pair.Now after a month they work but if it happens again sorry sennheiser,I will go for BW pi8.The sound from mtw4 is phenomenal but they didn't fixed the mtw3 problems

for call quality, the jabra elite 7 pro or sennheiser momentum 3 might be worth checking out. Both have great mic performance and comfort, alongside the link bud s.

Contradicting others but the Shockz are great if you want to hear your surroundings but terrible sound quality imho. I have the Jaybird Vista and the Senheiser Momentum ear buds. With both I use the transparency mode when I need to but when I need good music especially in an ultra I need it to sound good.

The wireless 3s. They are not sport specfic but have been fine for multiple ultras. The case is a little bulky.

I can help answer. The denon pearl pro are the best sounding in that list, and also now on sale for $150. I had the sony wh-1000xm5 and returned them. The bass rolled over into the mids too much and instrument separation was terrible. I had momemtum 2 and 3s, had two pairs or 2, and one pair of the 3, all had the same battery failure. I'm sure the momemtum 4 sound good but I'm not wasting my time or money again on sennheiser. So far the denon are the best sounding earbuds I've listened to. The closest thing I've found that sounds like my open back headphones

All 3 pairs of sennheiser tw3 left ear bud went out they sent the tw4 as replacement under warranty, 3 months later same issue. I gave up on sennheiser and got some denon perl pros. So far very happy with my choice.

Until one of the buds goes out. At least with me every pair I got had the same issue. Left bud ended up crackling a couple times then it was just done

I agree: Verdict: Not very good \- Encountered pairing issues on all my devices and platforms (Windows, Linux, Android), very unreliable but workable -> workable is not acceptable at this price point \- Both ANC and transparancy mode produce annoying side-effects like continuous high-pitched tones, crackling noise, etc. -> I only bought the earbuds for the sound quality, but the fact that that earbuds support these features cause the biggest issue I have with the earbuds as listed below \- For people that have not lost their hearing yet and can still hear very high-pitched noises, these earbuds produce a constant high-pitched sound even when both ANC and transparancy mode are disabled. This sound is amplified greatly when transparancy mode is enabled so I guess it's related to that feature \- The delay in sound is very noticable when gaming, even when gaming on low-latency mode, but that seems to be a problem for all wireless earbuds Some good points: \- Sound quality is good for wireless earbuds \- They fit comfortably when you replace the stock plugs with higher quality ones All in all, a very subpar product for the price. I would expect the issues stated above for earbuds at 100$ or below.

Would agree that the AirPods Pro 2 are your best bet. I like the sound from the Bose QC Ultra Earbuds but every 1-2 months one bud loses sound and I have to pair them again. So I don't recommend them. I have Sony WF1000XM4 and like them a lot. But if you are going to get those wait for the release of the XM6 this Fall and then get the XM5 cheap. The other I really like are the True Momentum Buds by Sennheiser. But for iPhones the AirPod really works.

I use a set of Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless buds which are great for me on Windows / Teams; also had some Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless buds which were fine too but prefer the Sony's myself

It is all about fit.  But the elite Jabras, Sennheiser momentum true wireless and ofc AirPods Pro2 are good.

Gonna leave my frustration here. Going through the exact BS with my 2nd pair. Now working on an RMA for a 3rd pair that I know will fail with the same issue as my previous two. Initially a loud screech blowing my eardrum. Then a crackling like you have a car window open going 80mph. Then the headphone completely fails; no sound. Wish I could do a return, or a justifiable charge-back, because this song and dance will continue until "oops, you're outside the warranty period, thanks for the $270".

Yeah, I had the Momentum's. They did fit ok. But the App and my phone just did NOT get along. They would constantly disconnect. Maybe if no one else comes up with anything else, I will give those a try again. Thank you!

Maybe I should've sold them better but I didn't see any other comments. They stick in my ears great, great sound, great touch responsiveness, very impressive noise cancelling. I believe for the price they're hard to beat. I have Sennheiser momentum true wireless and they're my favorites but also $300, my Galaxy buds FE ,I don't feel like I'm missing much at work or doing stuff around the house.

Hard disagree. Best sound quality there is, and has worked flawlessly since I bought them in may. I use them daily for 1-3h. I also prefer them to the m4's when im out and about, because of the largely improved ANC

Mine won't connect the left bud when I take it out by itself...really pissing me off. I'll be using the right bud and take the left out the case and the led light just stays fucking Red. I have factory reset and updated. They are a week old .

I've had mtw 1 2 3 and now the 4s. Think I might bite the bullet and get the bower wilkins pi8. So pissed off.

Sennheiser Momentum TWS. It even fits perfectly in the pouch that came with the deck, and fits snugly in the space behind the elastic at the bottom of the case.

I’m not sure on what version they’re on, but my Sennheiser Momentum TW’s are going strong and are class for everything - travel and running included. I even washed them accidentally and still worked perfectly fine afterwards. Pricey but definitely worth buying for a lot as opposed to repeatedly buying cheap.

I know this is a "buy" thread but wanted to save you from pouring money into Sennheiser Momentum any model. Very reliably unreliable....having two pairs replaced under warranty and still failed on the third.

Thats why we have Wavelet. But the closer the better. Some of the best I've owned and tried are Beoplay EQ, B&W p8i and Sennheiser Momentum.

Person who actually listens to music here, and cares about headphones. Technics AZ100s are absolutely stellar - get them. Oppo Enco X3s (when you are able to buy them in the UK) are cheaper, but absolutely superb. The X2s are some of my favourite ever earbuds. Sennheiser momentums are also very good. Bose quiet comforts are decent but quality wise don't keep up with the above three. Airpods are overpriced and are whitegirl apple product bait. The Sony earbuds noise cancelling is weak and the case battery fails after 12 months for a lot of people.

Sennheiser momentum, on offer now for less than £200, were 300 when they came out. Theyre somehow better than my big bose quietcomfort pair

They don't disappear in your ear quite like Airpods or Pixel Buds, so there's a slight pressure feeling at first. But with the Sennheiser TW, I actually had earaches, so these are way better for me." Sennheiser True Wireless Buds and QCY Ailybuds Pro+.. I prefer the Qcys because they are semi inear which fits better to ne and the nc is working nice for that budget earbud. Also the Call quality is better than sennheisers in my opinion ✌🏼
