Rail ANC are great, I have them. Jib arent great.
I have the anc they have bigger drivers. I’d go anc if you can swing it
ANC buds are my choice, Skullcandy Rail these days but I like the old Indy better. I've tried flying with over ear Bose but they are just too bulky for my personal preference while not in use (and weren't USBC). I've also had the distinct misfortune of only having a pair of Shokz when needing to fly and having to wear earplugs the entire flight, which is doable but not comfortable.
Strangely ive never had this issue before, ive had them sound tinny or underwater but only in both ears. Usually the cheap ones, and ones that have been abused by dropping them or getting too dirty will have this effect, hense why i stopped wearing airpods. For 175 you can get the shokz openair 2, they are very clean sounding comfortable and dont go into the ear so you can hear your environment. Ive always had an iphone, so these sound great with iphones. For about 50-80 bucks you can grab the sony wf-c500 earbuds. Great on iphone, probably better on android, these things sound like CINEMA headphones. Super clean, super comfortable, excellent battery life, super reliable connection. For 75-100 you can grab a skull candy crusher (original, not the newer ones) headphones that are clean and very comfortable, great connectivity, and a bass slider to add on. For that same price you can grab the audio technica ath m40x. Its wired only, but centered and clean audio, comfortable, with interchangeable wires. You dont need to go overly expensive but dont go cheap either. The absolute worst pair ive had (which were not bad, just uncomfortable and not what i was looking for) was the skull candy rail xt. Comparing to the other 3 it was a little muddy but still pretty clear compared to my airpods. The connection was great too, it just was literally a pain in my ear to wear them. I would avoid jbl and anker/anc, in my experience ive never had a good set of jbls.
I recently lost my left earbud of my Skullcandy Rails, loved those earbuds, but they were never the best. Was also on a budget for new ones and bought myself the Oneplus Buds 4. Always used OP phones, till 3 years ago. Loved them and they've always been good quality so I thought why not try the earbuds. Well, to be honest, I'm blown away. They fit perfectly, feel light and snug in my ears. Sound is very good, ANC blew me away and the Ambient mode is awesome as well. Only negative is the touch controls on the buds, but I think almost any earbud has this issue. They're 85 euro's online, if you order them via Aliexpress they're even cheaper and 90% sure the real ones. I'd recommend them, so far they're the best budget earbuds I've had.
