Me too! Totally worth it. They feel brand new and I can use them for at least another year or so

If you're spending 600 dollars (assuming usd) on earbuds you're spending way too much money on earbuds. 400 dollars should be the absolute upper limit, and even then they better spin gold out of thread. Best depends on whether you mean best overall earbuds or just the best anc. If it's the second it's generally considered a three way split between the Airpods Pro 3, Bose's Quiet comfort ultra Gen 2, and Sony's WF-1000XM6. Which one will work the best for you will depend on fit and there is nothing any of us can do to tell you which one will fit the best, but Soundguys does reasonably objective measurements of noise canceling performance, and they suggest that the Airpods block the most decibels, but the Sony earbuds do the best at higher frequencies--something anc traditionally struggles with, and Bose does better at mid frequencies and has a more sporty fit, but is edged out in noise cancellation by both. That said, I wouldn't look at the Airpods unless you already have an iPhone, as you don't get much out of them other than basic Bluetooth on android, and I wouldn't use the Bose on a Samsung phone over the sony--samsung, annoyingly, restricts the use of Qualcomm's aptx codecs on their phones, so the Bose only has the basic SBC codec. Sony uses SBC, AAC, LDAC, and LC3, all of which are supported on Samsung androids, and also has support on many new windows devices, although not all of them.

r/sonyThe new earbuds are actually boring, for a simple reason (but there's a practical change)

My ears hurt after wearing them for about an hour. The seal test said I needed to size up two sizes for one of my ears. Both ears were the first time I've experienced discomfort from an ear bud. The tip material is terrible and the body doesn't sit well in the ear.

I bought mine about a 1.5 years ago. Still going with use around 45 min 3 times a week. Given the complaints on battery life, I do wonder how much longer they'll last.

I don't know about measurements, but I tried both WF-1000XM6 and airpods pro 3. I work in a loud environment and I can assure you that sony's anc solution is better. But the airpods are way more confortable for my ears.

I just got my xm6s today and couldn't be happier. No issues - just glorious sound and incredible ANC. A HUGE improvement on the xm5. Maybe it all comes down to fit??

Entirely the right answer–I've been rocking my XM4s since 2020. Tried the 5 and 6 in store and there was nowhere near enough difference to justify the cost (and the 5s seemed flimsy). I also have the WF XM6 earbuds for more portable use and love them too. Noise cancelling isn't as a good of course, but they're absurdly comfortable, great sound quality, and the listen-through function is the best I've come across.

The Sony XM-6 are great all around buds but I’m not sure if they are worth the additional $100 than the AirPods Pro 3 for iPhone users. Also the controls suck.
