I switched to Sony earbuds and over the headphones after my AirPods just stopped working one day after an update. Apple would only replace for $100 so I decided to try something new. For running I use Sony WF-C700N earbuds and Sony WH-1000XM4 over the head headphones for long walks, flights, gaming, chiller activities. (I don’t run in these, but if you need a nicer pair of headphones I really enjoy mine for non audiophile reasons). The earbuds have been great for running and were half the price of AirPods Pro. The audio is good for running, you can customize the gestures, and they come in different colors.

iphone user, the best choice i say is airpod pro 2 is has everything u would need plus comfort, the audio is very balance. but heres some other choice to consider. **Monndrop Moca.** its budget friendly and it came with a app u had to download on moondrop website, and EQ the audio you prefer. its the budget META. Sony WF-C700N. its nice and really comfortable, audio is nice with a Warm signature. all above got noise cancelling.

I use a pair of Sony WF-C700N and they work great. I haven't noticed any lag and can remember multiple Bluetooth connections so they're linked to my (Android) phone and laptop as well and I use the Sony app on my phone to set what the source is. They also have pretty decent active noise cancelling.

You can find very decent buds in the $100 range - Soundcore Space A40, Sony WF-C700N series (one with buttons, one with touchpoints), Sony Linkbuds S, Samsung Buds FE (1st Gen). If you are in the market for absolute audio precision, then yeah, you will get more out of $300+ buds. But if you want serviceable sound, ANC and battery life at a price that won't kill you if they get lost, any of those would be fine, imo.

Of the choices, I have tried the Sonys (the 700n model with buttons) and they have ANC and sound as good as their linkbuds S. Also in the price range is the Soundcore Space A40s which have surprisingly good sound and ANC for their price.

My 510's arrived today! I bought these to replace my 700N's, the mesh was broken on both earbuds. I can only comment on the sound for now. The 510's seem to have better clarity, which is actually quite surprising. It's weird that I can now hear details that I couldn't hear before on the 700's. The only thing that's missing is the ANC, but the ANC on the 700's is quite poor, and I probably won't end up missing that feature. I know that some people say that they are lacking bass, but I think that the overall sound is quite balanced. I use an EQ (Power EQ), but I haven't had to mess around with the bass on these. It's early days, but I think these are one of the best in terms of value. I can't comment on the battery life yet, but I think 11 hours is more than enough. I think the only thing that I don't like is the quality of the plastic, which I find to look a little cheaper than the 700's. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, walkman! You helped me pull the trigger on these.

The plastic looks/feels like it's lacking texture, but it's a small nitpick really. I'm not going to be spending a lot of time looking at them. I agree that the 510's have more presence. I use the ANC all of the time on the 700s, but the 510's somehow beat them when it comes to keeping my attention. I like the 700's, but I really don't think there's a reason to choose them over the 510's now. You'll have to let me know if they manage to make a difference to the sound! I'm using the tips that were pre-installed with them, and it seems like they provide a good seal.

Under $40 I would go for QCY Melobuds Pro or the Sony WF-C700N which is going for $39 on Ebay right now from a certified seller. I've been personally using my Realme Buds Air 6 Pro the most, which I got for only $15 on Aliexpress but I think that was probably a price error since the listing got deleted after a couple of weeks

Can recommend Sony's WFC N-700 model, had them for about 2 years now and they have noise cancelling so good it can block out the Victoria line in London (idk if that works as a frame of reference to you, about 110 dB)

r/autism • noise cancelling earbuds recommendations ->
Reddit Icon

Admittedly the full drown out is with music on, but the noise cancelling works independently, the most you'll have to deal with is noise from bone conduction which (at a guess) brings it down to about 40-50 dB. Mine were 120 GBP but since they are a few years old at this point you may be able to get them cheaper now

I've used them for almost a year, and they're great for most types of music, although I haven't yet determined the best EQ to enhance bass performance, as out of the box, they are more on the flat, neutral side (which I actually like, and they're great for very melodic music with highs). I also have personal issues, I get dizzy after a certain amount of time when using bass heavy in-ears, mostly when I'm using only one earbud at a time, and I don't think it's only these earbuds, I believe it's physiological or something. I tend to tolerate lots of bass on over the ear headphones, or speakers. Otherwise, when it comes to connectivity, charge, call quality, and range, they're 10/10. They're very reliable when I'm out, and I've even used them for Teams calls when teaching ESL as a side hustle. I don't have Airpod or XM5 money, so these are my version of bougie buds, so far so good.

I'd recommend the Sony WF-C700N, the earbuds come with the buttons, anc is fantastic, I've used it inside theatres and it's great, the battery is great too..cool tip: you can press the buttons by tilting your head and press against your shoulder (play, pause, next song etc..)

can already tell you, don't get the WF-C700N's. they made my ears itch badly and noise cancelling ironically let more noise in. sound quality was also disappointing for what I paid for them originally (the same company that made the walkman, by the way) currently using the Nothing Ear (a)'s, but they're too recent to really form an opinion. definitely better than the C700N's and were cheaper than their original price (sony just because you made them ultra cheap now doesn't mean they are suddenly good) i do actually have a good experience with Soundcore, at least sound wise. mine didn't have ANC so don't know how well they do that.

I have tested them against the WF-C700N and WF-1000XM4 for call quality, quite room so ideal conditions. I will try do a noisy conditions test as well soon. The mic quality is improved, I hear less noise and artifacts with the WF-C510 versus the WF-C700N. The WF-C700N sounds a bit more compressed. The WF-1000XM4 voice mic is superior to both, it sounds more full and closer to a normal recording off my laptop mic.

Those are all cheap class of airbuds. You do not need to expect alot from them. For approximately the same price WF-C700N are better (in my country WF-C700N are 60 EUR and WF-C510 are 49 EUR). Sound quality is little better. At least they have NC. That is if you want only Sony airbuds.

I think I found a pair I am actually quite happy with: The sony wf-c700n. They are small, fit well and they stay in without any ear pain for at least 2 hours before I get ear fatigue (which is better than pain). Passive isolation is on par. ANC is very good in quiet environments, "meh" in noisy ones. When you aren't playing music voices are just muffled down but you can clearly hear them. Transparancy mode is fine for me. You hear some white noice in the background in a silent place, but that doesn't bother me much Sound quality: I am not the right person to judge this one. I am no audiophile and almost always use low volume settings. It sounds fine for me. A piano doesn't sound shrill, but has a rich and balanced tone. But depending on eq settings you also get a decent bass. What I like best is your lusic/video doesn't pause when you pull one earbud out. I am not a fan of that setting on most earbuds, but I'm propably the minority😂. If you look at online reviews (reddit, youtube, soundguys, rtngs...) they rank far from premium buds, look cheap (in comparison to top tier buds, they do, not gonna lie), haven't the greatest batterylife jaddajadda. But they work for me and I'm okay with that. I bought a pair at a really great price of 65 euros in my local electronic store. For some miracle reason I was also able to get my hands on a brand new jabra elite 8 active pair. In terms of comfort they are the GOAT. Still testing them out to compare these to the sony's. I will keep you updated.

Ok, i got them and tested them in-field. here is what i found out: So these are the ONLY earbud recommendations that literally CLICKED ALL THE BOXES i was looking for. they have ANC they have a clickable button that i can mush with my shoulder they are affordable, at a retail price of 35 bucks. then, they have extras that I also like \- they are sold on amazon, so easy returns \- they have great sound \- they have an app \- you can customize the button controls in app. \- you can control equalizer in app. so, out of all the ones that i found, your recommendation was the only one to literally click ALL the boxes. but for my specific case scenario, both the [**Sony WF-C700N**](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BYPFNW6T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1) and [**Jabra Elite 4**](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BTZKP1TP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1) meet my requirements a lot better. the reason is that both of these have ALL the features of the Soundcore, with the only exception being the price. both of these retail close to 70 bucks. but i have purchased multiple of these units used for 35 bucks. so used, they do meet my price range. but on top of that, these have a wayyy better sound quality (the quality on the soundcores is really good, but these are really, really good) then both of these offer a lot punchier base, but most importantly, both of these have a way stronger Active noise cancellation. If i didnt mess with used headphones, the soundcore would be the best choice for me. but since i dont mind buying used headphones, and dealing with the ocassional dud, and the annoying return process. but thanks for your recommendation, you were the only recommendation to literally check all boxes.

Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are also a great choice if you really need top-tier noise cancelling. They’re a little more comfortable for long periods, but in terms of pure ANC power, Sony edges them out slightly. Both will do an awesome job on those low-pitch sounds that most earplugs can’t touch.
