Alright, I ordered Soundcore C50i, Aerofit 2 and Soundpeats Clip1 to see what we can do here. \- Soundpeats one looks and feels like straight off temu. Went back in the package and not even ckecking that one again \- C50i pinches my ears a bit, and they are quieter than I like. Not a fan of the button either. but willing to give it some more time. \- Aerofit 2 are so light and comfy enough to forget that I'm wearing anything. Sound quality is a bit meh compared to my airpods, but at half the price, I'm not complaining. Gets plenty lound too. The only real gripe is that MASSIVE charging case, as big as a small donut I'll be trialing the 2 soundcores for a few days and returning the one that I don't like.

Ear pain usually means in-ears just aren’t for you. Open-ear clip designs avoid that whole pressure issue. Using soundpeats clip1 recently, works great for workouts. Super easy on the ears and still hits way better than I expected. For the mic, my needs are simple and regular calls have been fine. You could take a look.

I recently started testing a few, premium as well as cheapos. Sometimes amazing how little difference there is. Like those two in the pic. I actually like the much cheaper QCY Crossky C50 better than the new SoundPeats Clip1. I like the Bose, but fear for their life in rain. Also like the Soundcore Aeroclip, but can’t justify the price … the Baseus MC1 pro with IPX67 have the best weather / dust rating. Keep seeing the Huawei freeclips topping lists on YT, but when I tested them I found them just ‘eh’ … my pref is great sound, don’t need LDAC, not interested in phone quality … what else should I check out?

Don’t have the pearlclips … tried them briefly. They have a much slimmer case. The case on the clip1 is massive. Also had trouble with the fit of the clip1, too loose. I am actually contemplating getting the pearlclips.

Very specific needs / use cases. Interesting. We all have different priorities. I never game / use for phone calls. My main use is for running ;) curious about the XC1, but I do have the Bose Ultra Open, so I have the real Bose sound already ;) oh, and another thing I disliked about the clip1: the case is huuuuge.

Right now the Shockz OpenDots One are my favorite clip. I had a set of Soundcore Aeroclips that weren't bad, but I bought the Baesus XC1 because they have LDAC and didn't need three sets of earclips. The Baesus XC1 aren't bad, but I loathe that the software seems to attenuate max volume when the bass notes hit hard (likely to protect the drivers from bottoming out causing more damage). So the max volume on the XC1 is honestly too low for some of my needs (like cycling outdoors where I get lots of wind noise). Lately I rotate between the Shockz OpenFit Pro and OpenDots. I'm tempted to buy the Bose Ultra Open because I hear they have awesome sound quality, but the call quality is lackluster compared to the Shockz OpenDots apparently so right now I'm waiting to see what else hits the market. I also got the JBL Endurance Zone earhooks which aren't bad, but the sound quality isn't as nice as the OpenFit Pro

* They are insanely comfortable for me. But my wife finds most of my earclips uncomfortable. * They stay put regardless what I'm doing - from working around the house to hitting the gym or my daily cardio bicycle ride. I don't need to constantly adjust them * Open ear natural transparency means I can have conversations with people while still enjoying my music at lower volumes, or hear if there's an issue with my 3D print farm (I have lots of machines constantly running). Yes, sound quality takes a minor hit at higher volumes, especially bass. But it varies greatly from brand to brand. I have tested nearly a dozen earclip earbuds over the past year (Including the Soundpeats Clip1) and results vary wildly from total garbage sound quality to pretty decent. Sure, when I want better sound quality with ANC, I reach for my Bose QC-Ultra earbuds. Or I reach for my Bowers & Wilkins Headphones for better sound. But earclips work for my personal needs because the natural open-ear design is both comfortable and allows me to comfortably wear them literally all day (from morning when I wake up, until the evening). I literally wear down the battery and then swap out for a different pair of earclips and keep going haha. The Soundpeats Clip1 are decent. They are not the worst earclips I've handled, but they are certainly not a premium model like the Shokz OpenDots One or the Bose Ultra Open. Although those earclips also retail for more than double the price

I would probably vote for either the Soundcore Aeroclips (the white with silver band is a beautiful accent piece, one of the better styles I've seen besides Bose Ultra open). If you need louder and better quality, my next vote would be the Shockz OpenDots One which are out of your budget, but you might be able to scoop them up on sale or on ebay. I have the Baesus XC1 inspire clips, and the LDAC is nice, but overall I'm not too thrilled with them. The firmware has some sort of driver protection protocol that attenuates the volume about 15% lower when you're listening to bass-heavy songs. It's crazy how much louder they are when you're listing to certain songs that don't have lots of low-end, then as soon as the bass hits, the entire volume (not just the bass) gets about 15% more quiet until the bass stops playing, then a second later they get louder again. I've experienced this on a handful of earbuds (all cheaper models) and it bugs the hell out of me! Having an acoustical engineering background, I understand this is a failsafe to protect the speaker from blowing out the voicecoil of the driver due to excessive wear at higher volume - better earbuds have better (sometimes thicker) materials to resist wear at these higher volumes. I sold my Aeroclips when I got the XC1 clips (because I had the Shockz already and only need two good pairs for a full day of streaming music). And honestly I wish I had just returned the XC1 clips - they're not bad, but they're only worth about $75 in my personal opinion (compared to other generic clips I've tested over the past year). Right now the top ear clips would be either the Shockz OpenDots One, or the Bose Ultra Open and I have been desperately looking for something even more premium. I was very disappointed by CES this year - very few earbuds and earclips of any noteworthiness were reported. The Shockz OpenFit Pro and the JBL Endurance Zone earclips were basically two of the only exciting open-ear releases of CES 2026. (Someone please correct me if you have anything better than the OpenDots or Ultra Open - I'd love to 'hear' what else I'm missing!)

Not sure if you’ve tried open ears for office before, but soundpeats clip1 surprised me. I switched to them for work mostly because in ears were starting to bug me after even an hour. With these I can leave them on basically my whole shift and don’t feel the urge to rip them out. Sound is honestly better than I expected for an open design, and not being sealed off from the world is clutch in an office. Around $50 now. Pretty happy with it at work.

Soundpeats Clip 1s have been excellent for me. Open ear, stay put nicely. Don't interfere with glasses or helmet straps. Sound quality for open ear is solid.

Soundpeats Clip 1 if you are ok with open design earbuds. They stay put and don't interfere with glasses or helmets for running or cycling. Sound quality is solid.

Same here, I grabbed the clip 1 recently and was honestly surprised how decent it is for what it is. for something that doesn’t even sit in your ear, the tuning is actually pretty balanced — mids are clean, vocals don’t get buried, and the drivers don’t fall apart when you push the volume a bit. It obviously won’t slam like an in-ear, but for an open-ear clip design it holds up way better than I expected. Stability + comfort are the main reasons I bought it, but yeah, the tech side isn’t cheap gadget level either. It’s more competent than I thought an ear-clip style would be.

We've got both in our household (amongst some others). If you find the Clip1s too lose, I suspect that will be a similar situation with the Pearlclips.....probably even more so. They are easily the "loosest" of any of the ones we have. I've used both around the house, walking, in the car, walking around the office / shops, etc. But anything more active (at least for MY medium sized ears) is a no-go for the Pearlclips. The QCY Crossky C50 and the Truefree B1 have been much better for my ears when it comes to more vigorous exercise - e.g. running / mountain-biking / jump-rope / etc - though the sound IS better on the Clip1s than those other models. What I personally found fascinating with the Clip1s is that their sound when using the LDAC is NOT as good as simply keeping it off and switching on Dynamic EQ. I've EQd the heck out of them in different ways since I received them and situation remains. Yet even with that said, they still sound better than the others mentioned....though the QCY are also up there. Good luck with it whichever you end up with and make sure you give us all an update so others can learn from your experience! Cheers mate! 👍
