I got the Tozo OpenRealz (offbrand shockz) and I'm really happy with them. They were maybe $30.
Have you tried open ear headphones? I've head multiple pairs of Shokz headphones and several much cheaper bone conduction headphones and once I tried a pair of Tozo OpenReals I was done with them. They look like bone conduction, you can still hear things like bone conduction, but music is actually listenable.
Buy a pair of Tozo OpenReal headphones and wonder why bone conduction is a thing. Look the same, can still hear your surroundings, actually listenable music and a quarter of the price.
I’m gonna say something controversial. After trying the Shockz 1 and thinking they weren’t loud enough and then again trying the 2s and having the same issue. I have given up on them. I honestly just bought two cheap pairs of Tozo open ear headphones from Amazon and I love them. They are incredibly comfortable, and quite a bit louder. The louder volume was specially useful for those of you that are into podcasts. Or if part of your run is down bus streets. You can still hear everything outside of you very well but having the option to higher volume is great. I’ve used these for several 50ks and 100ks. Hope this helps!
For the gym, I like something basic that I don't care if it dies from sweat and other abuse. To that end, I got the tozo open ear and tozo t6. T6 to block out sound and open ear when outside and I want to hear cars and stuff. Both of these are in the 20 to 30 dollar range.
I have the same issue! I found open ear headphones the best for me. I tried airpods this week and they're not bad but I have a Samsung phone so most features dont work (thats a whole nother thing) The only one that isnt open ear that I can use is an ankor soundcore a30i. I found then on tiktok shop for $9! But theyre typically more like 25ish. Tozo open ear and jlab open ear both works good for me and were under $50.
I use a pair of their open air ear buds for walking the dog, they are good for podcasts.
I use Tozo Openear earbuds or just use the speaker on the device
I love the Tozo open-ear version. They are really comfortable and great when you want to be aware of your surroundings (like walking the dogs, shopping, etc).
