fiio jw1 seem like a good option. I use the xiaomi open wear when im outside and it work wonders. They have basically the same use case and design philosophy, I can listen to everything around me with decent volume and they are extremely comfortable Edit: For $400, I would just buy the jw1 if you need to hear your surroundings and spend the rest to buy an amp/dac + good headphone
