"they have better ANC than almost anything I've tried, over-ear or not ... my new ANC test is the mower and a circular saw."

"ANC is ridiculously good. ... At least one order of magnitude better than any Beats product I’ve ever used. Probably two orders of magnitude better."

"they work great as earplugs while driving my car with a loud exhaust, blocks almost all sound out while the noise canceling on the Bose headphones doesn’t come close. ... If I wasn’t using my AirPods I’d be using earplugs."

"having somewhat of a shittier ANC. ... For the use of buses or even home, don't even think about it, the ANC goes crazy with the sound of the engine and the passive noise reduction is almost non present. ... I'd rather not having headphones in the bus and actively listen to the engine than to have these headphones and having to actually listen to the engine as well + weird ANC noises + doghsit quality audio. ... this newer model somehow improves in actually nothing and somehow got an even worse ANC even though the first already barely even had at all. ... ANC: it does contain it, but it does not contain it. ... Bluetooth buds have one purpose which is having ANC, and sounding slightly good. These couldn't even deliver on that."

"I don't recommend them because of the automatic ANC. This ANC is crap, you have to stay away from it. ... you don't buy headphones with superb ANC to use this mode as rarely as possible."

+1 to this. I just recently got Shokz Openfit 2 because I prefer individual earbuds to the headband style. They’re great for anything trail related (hiking, biking, running) and for races, because I can still hear. I also find I use them while cooking a lot, again because I can still hear whether something is boiling/sauteeing too hard or whatever. But I found I still need to go back to my older pair of Jabra Elites with noise canceling for other uses, like running on the road or grocery shopping, where I really prefer to block out noise. At some point I’ll probably replace the Jabras with Beats or AirPods or something, but they’re still hanging on for now.

Jabra Elite here as well. I do about 1K miles/year, nearly all urban streets and nearly all with sound canceling (it’s never good enough to block all noise). Especially with electric cars, it’s about eyes and defensive running period. Ears are important, sure. But in the quiet electric era (or in cities with scooters and bikes cultures), I find myself looking way more than listening. I’ve been dense urban area running for 15+ years (think NYC and the like), and the change is real. I know the consensus is anti-sound canceling or anti-earbud and even anti-music. But I’ve run a ridiculous amount of miles over the years and music is a big part is my running. But to be fair, I chose my headphones based on battery life. Once I had a marathon go wrong and my headphones died at 3.5 hours and I limped to a 5 hour walking finish. Damn, even a touch of music might have helped the struggle. Best of luck!

Well that's annoying. Because they were $299 last week on Amazon. I obviously never would have bought from *the airport* otherwise. Lol Fair, 3 weeks isn't forever. I needed them asap sadly, as my Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2s went in the ocean.

My Jabra Elite 10 G2 fell in the ocean, so I bought XM5s. I am happy with the change, not so happy being out almost $200.

Not the Shokz ones, that's for sure. I actually \*like\* music. (Just lolz!) Kidding aside, I'm wildly fussy when it comes to earbuds. I've had some more expensive ones like Jabra Elites and others, but they always fail within a year, and I have truthfully never found anything better sounding and longer lasting through daily sweat, snow, and accidental washing/drying than the lowly $25 JLAB GO POP+. YMMV of course. I OTOH will die on this hill.

I got my Jabra Elite 10’s online. They’re fantastic and have excellent battery life. I got some Azla eartips which makes the ANC 5x better.

I have also been thinking this, I'd say get anything that works. Closed Backs with ANC are probably your friend here. Also Bose is quite expensive....I have used Jabra Elites pretty good.

I have a lot of earbuds, most of them in the $180 - $279 price range, and my favorites are the Jabra Elite 10. They have great sound and due to their oval-shaped ear tips, they are very comfortable for long sessions. Because of the shape of the tips, you never get that feeling of an uncomfortable seal in your ear canal. They support AAC, so they may sound a little better on an iPhone than they would on Android, where they use the SBC codec. Good luck!
