I really like and have the ROVE R3 in my car. I also installed the ROVE R2-4K DUAL in my wife's car and it does a good job. These camera's work best with the hardwire kit. I've recommended the R2 to several friends and so far no complaints.

I have the Rove R2 4K Dual. I spent a lot of time researching. But I know the Dual kit has one of the newest camera specs on the market. That one does not unfortunately. Starvis 2 is important for night quality reading plates. The novatek version also makes a difference. Had no issues with my rove yet

The r2 4k, r2 4k pro and the r2 4k dual are three different specs. The dual is the newest specs. Works great love it but the pro isnt as good as the dual.

I researched dual dash cams for nearly a week a cpuple months ago. I was originally looking at the Viofo like everyone recommended but after some deep searching of what sensor and versions of novatek are in each. The one I wanted was out of stock. I found Rove R2-4K dual to be one of the newest versions of Sony Starvis 2 and novatek. Much newer than the standard R2-4K and R2-4K Pro. The reason, I do more night driving than day in my car and this matters for capturing license plates at night. They sell a hardware kit for it but I hear Toyota will void electronics warranty if anything happens if you hardwire to the fusebox. But recently I saw they did this to someone who had it wired into the 12v glovebox outlet with the adapter as well (which doesnt give you parking mode). The Haichi kit might be a smarter way to hide it on them but unless you remove everything related prior they will see mounts and your wiring. That being said, having the dash cam is more important that worrying about something going wrong IMO. Revert to stock if you have to take it in for electrical issue and maybe hide stuff during service calls so they dont have an opportunity to take notes :)

I purchased the R2 4K dual which has the starvis 2 with discount for 339dhs. Rove has more reviews that viofo but still a good brand. Installed the rove myself, hid the wires easily. Lots of guides on it. Just the rear has a wire shown as it needs some lenght to open the rear door given its an suv. Will be more neat for a sedan. No need to pay stupid prices like 1K or more. U can easily manage installation on ur own.

Nice but still its a hefty price to pay though for all that. Yeah i wasnt referring to your Rove, I specifically mentioned Rove 4k which i purchased that had starvis 2. U can refer to my original comment. For parking mode there is a seperate kit to purchase for the rove that needs hard wiring.

The A229 pro has been good to me. The app is not great but works. Have one for my daily driver and my wife's car. My other car I've been using the ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam. Micro SD card brand and type is equally important. I didn't use the micro sd card that came with the rove. I tend to stick to the Samsung Evo line or SanDisk High Endurance Video line.

I'm using a 256GB card (Sandisk High Endurance, item code SDSQQNR-256G-GN6IA) , so I cannot speak to anything larger being supported (but I do see others have). I've had the camera for roughly 7 months now (bought 2 of them on Amazon and with deal of the day discount, got them for $185)and I am really happy with them. The phone app isn't bad but could be better. I still use an older cell phone with the Torque app installed and use the track recorder function (I have an obd2 bluetooth adapter that interfaces with it and I have extra gauges as overlays for it) for a secondary dash cam, but it's nice to have the features of a dash cam with great night vision recording, something that a Galaxy Note 3 phone doesn't do well. 🤣 Overall the A119 is a great dash cam. I have one in my car and have been trying to convince my wife to let me install the second one I bought in her car because these days I really do believe that everyone should have a dash cam in their car. For my Firebird I went with a ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam (front and rear camera) that I'll be installing in the spring. That car already encountered a hit and run when it was parked and I wasn't in it, so I'm a little paranoid about that happening again.

Someone posted the same question a few weeks ago. My past response: I’ve really enjoyed my Rove R2-4k two channel dash cam and would recommend it. It also has the STARVIS 2. It’s still just above $100 on Amazon with a coupon and promotion applied, and for a bonus, you get a 128GB microSD bundled with it.

I have been using the ROVE 4k for a couple of years. Amazon frequently puts them on sale. I live in KY where last summer it topped 110° and had no issues.

I'll piggy back off what someone else said. Rove R2. Me and the wife both have them in our cars. We like them ALOT! It's like $120 bucks on Amazon, they basically do everything else the competition does. We also bought a generic mirror stem adapter for them. We have it clamped around the rear view mirror. It's flawless. Basically a set it up and leave it situation. Since our 12v plug ins are keyed to power we never have to touch it

I tried Viofo and had issues with it. Bought a Rove R2 in 2022 and then upgraded to the Rove R3 that corms with a cabin cam. Hasn’t given me any issues since.

I have the Rove 2k - 4k and I bought a Redtiger dash cam front with rear on my moms Accord and both dash cams are great! I bought an upgraded SD card (both are using 256 gb) both dashcams can record up to 4k. I had a NEXAR dashcam before going to Rove and had that NEXAR for a year and a half and it randomly just stopped working on me.

If you want the front with rear cameras I would go with the Redtiger. if you just want the front then go with Rove 2k -4k. Rove is also cheaper (80 bucks) and I think it’s a great investment. Redtiger is currently 130 on Amazon (originally 200). I can’t speak yet on the Redtiger since I just recently got it but since I had the ROVE for almost a year now, I love the camera.

Rove 4k but you need a hardwire kit. I'd assume most dashcams that record 24/7 require a hardwire kit.

I have a Rove 4k in my truck. I was able to get an accessory plug so it is powered off the rear view mirror; no running of wires. I got the Ford Thinkware dashcam for my wife's Ranger. It wires directly into OBD for continuous power which my Rove doesn't have. However Ford sells an older Thinkware that doesn't have wireless access..... Huge disappointment. There's nothing fancy about the Rove but it wasn't super expensive either

Rove 4k for $99 and it really shoots in 4k. License plates are easy to read and night filming is really good too. I have 2. One for the front and one for the rear.

Yeah, half of these don't connect to WiFi (customer reporting), won't stay on, can't download unless near cam, won't power on, etc. When the reviews of negatives outweighs the positives, I'd be leery of just throwing brands out there... (Walmart? really?) Always do your own home work. I did a google search and looked at all these 'brands' (Especially the Rove R2 and RedTiger)... Just do the research, there is a lot of 'crap' out there. One way to tell; Do the housing on various models all look alike (same batch manufacturer)?
