Beware of Fitcamx on my previous car; it slowly drained my battery over six months while the car was off. I have been using a [Rove R2-4k Pro](https://www.amazon.com/ROVE-R2-4K-PRO-Dashcam-Supports/dp/B0BZRKRBHP) since May in my MK 8.5, which can be hardwired into the Fuse box or connected to the 12V port, and haven't had any issues.
Yep that's what I use ...fairly easy to run the wire across the headliner....down the pillar....along the side of the dash....and behind the glove box! I've had it for over a year and no complaints.
Rove R2-4K Pro. Under $100. Love this camera. I think the Viofo is great too. Can’t go wrong with either.
I’ve been running a Rove R2-4K Pro. Love it.
Same, I have a rove and it has an app, but you don't have to use it. I haven't touched the app for a long time since install. You can pull videos using WiFi in the car instead of pulling the card, but I haven't ever had a reason to.
Hardwired in a Rove 4K pro and now upgraded to the dual camera 4K model. Old one will go in my truck next time it's warm enough outside to install it.
I bought a Rove2-4k Pro and haven’t had any issues with it. Just be sure to get the high endurance SD card bc the cam might be great but the card gets fried.
